I always check ebay and amazon -- amazon often comes out ahead for items with the free shipping -- if you use vitamins or items on a regular basis, you can save big-time with Amazon by doing the auto-ship program -- they give you 15% off plus FREE shipping and you can cancel or change at any time.
As everyone already knows, very reliable website with excellent variety of goods. Excellent return policy - I purchased the wrong InvisiShield and was able to return it with no questions asked even if the package was already opened! Also, amazon is even better with the PRIME (esp the 2 day shipping for free) service offered to college students for a year free!
My husband and I have had an Amazon.com account for almost 10 years. We love them. We have bought so many things from them over the years. Also, they have a cool exchange program now for textbooks, movies, video games, and electronics. You send them into Amazon (after doing an online setup where they tell you how much your items are worth and you print out a UPS shipping) and then you get Amazon credit. I sent in a bunch of stuff last summer and got $160!

I love Amazon.com. I have been buying from them for the past 10 years and have not have much problems. Sure, once in a blue moon I get a wrong item, but I think it was only like twice in 10 years, still a very good record! I love that they have a lot of variety and other buyers to buy it from. From books to lotion, almost anything you can think of. But the best part for me is that if I ever want a good product review, I can just go on Amazon, search if they have it, and then read the reviews of other users. It has saved me many times from making the wrong decision!
Buying from the individual sellers can be more tricky, not all of them ship as fast and you don't get the free shipping plus they make more mistakes in shipments than Amazon do. It is especially a problem when you are ordering multiples of the same item. Sometimes the sellers charge you the shipping fee per item. Meaning $4.99 per hand lotion, but if you buy 2 bottles, they will charge you $4.99 x 2, which then adds up to be a lot. Sometimes the shipping can negate any savings that you will get and it may be better to buy from other sites.
But I like the fact that Amazon will refund your money eventhough the seller ignores you after you have returned the wrong or defective item, as long as you have proof of delivery or some kind of delivery confirmation of course. Plus, even the sellers have ratings like ebay, so they make more effort to offer better customer service to avoid getting dinged on ratings.
Overall a great site!
If you shop wisely you can get good deals and they have, by FAR, the best customer service of any of the big box online retailers. Also you can get some really great FREE MP3 music from up and coming artists from their MP3 store.
Of course I've ordered from Amazon lots o' times, but most recently had a great experience. Ordered wireless dog fence - paid $20 less than any other retailer was offering, even with a discount. Free shipping, arrived 2 days before scheduled - in time for us to install in a Saturday! What else can you ask for?
I've had too many good experiences with amazon to tell you about. ANY problem, consider it taken care of. Drop your $200 Kindle? Even a year or so after you purchase it, they replace it without it costing you one penny. Best customer service in the world.

GReat Range of products and lots with free delivery
Very useful site - like an internet WalMart on steroids, lots of info, lots of products, it's very big, takes a bit of getting used to, but if you know what you want to buy and are very particular, this is the site for you.
As a seller, stay far away! I have been a customer for five years. I recently listed my college books on the website and some of my old phones, I sold about $400.00 and then they put my account on suspension for no reason. They then told me that they would keep my $400 for 90 days until the review was up. Really, come on, how can this my books be suspect. They tell you to do an appeal but they want accept any information such as receipts or ID's. My guess is that they are putting our funds into stock or something. 90 days is just unfair and we can't do anything about it. I know 100's of more sellers just like me. We pay the price and they get a good reputation.

My daughter found a pair of shoes she needed for a modeling show and they had exactly what she needed- so we thought. I was very surprised when the shoes came quickly as promised. The shoes are beautiful. Problem is that they didn't fit. I suggested reordering (see their policy) for a larger size but it seems that they're limited in that sense ( no 11's for that shoe). Oh well. Getting ready to return them... free of charge as stated... I hope that goes smoothly

Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
