Almost 70% of the things i. Bought online where bought from amazon japan. I love the special discount coupons. And the things i bought havd no problem so far. Fast and reliable. And the costumer support were superb. Just what i expected with the. Japanese pipz. Prompt and reliable. I. once bought a desk cod, and i cancel it since i havent receive the item after three weeks, and they even give me a coupon with the same amount with the desk that i wanna buy. Lol. Im so lucky. Well not everybody find amazon a great online store but for me its the number 1 so far. You can easily track the items you bought, when would be the deliveru sched, you can cancel the items for free. Of course the. Items were not perfect since it has diff sellers. But the amazon itself were great. Even with groceries, and wet goods can be deliver to you freshly. I highly recommend amazon.co.jp to everyone living in japan. And i love kuroneko. :)
Not entirely sure how we ended up with Amazon prime - best guess is that either my wife or I accidentally ticked a box or went for the free trial and forgot about it. However, after a month or so of realising we were members my wife was totally converted and I too was pleasantly surprised. There is plenty of choice of 'prime' items available which means free next day delivery and as we buy quite a bit from amazon it saves us money and patience.
The Instant video was a big bonus with loads of TV and film available for free. The latest and most popular stuff can be bought or flexibly rented.
So, why only 2 stars? Well after a few months we got an Internet connection error when trying to stream any movies or shows. After unsuccessfully trying to resolve the issue myself I phoned amazon who blamed the TV, the Internet provider, etc. I pointed out that it was previously working without those things having changed and also that I am still able to use other Internet services through the smart TV such as BBC I player and even movie previews on amazon. We agreed that I would try and reinstall the app and check my wi-Fi. Since then, I have had virgin media out who tested everything installed a new hub (even though signal was perfect before and after), and purchased a wifi booster which has made sure the signal is full strength throughout the house. However we still can't enjoy any streaming video. All we can do is pay for view and download to a device.
What we save in postage on amazon order may well justify the cost of prime but, unless we can get the streaming service working again I think we'll be cancelling membership as I suspect (I am a system test analyst by trade) the issue is a lack of bandwidth at their end?
I have been ordering from Amazon for a number of years now and they are the best! Everything shows ups when it is suppose to and if you need to make a return, it is no hassle.
I joined Amazon Prime 2 years ago and it has been so worth it! I get almost everything shipped to me for free within 2 days, and I get to watch their programs like Alpha House, which is great fun! I rely more and more on Amazon for just about everything, from shoes and clothing, to kitchen ware. It is a safe way to shop online.
Nothing will take the place of print books! There is a feeling, a panache if you will, in holding a book in your hands, in flipping pages back and forth and yes, in savoring the aroma of the pages, be they newly printed or reeking with the mustines that comes of great age in a quiet library. Kindle cannot match the timelessness of a print book. But they don't have to! What Amazon Kindle does is to enable new writers to essentially "self-publish" and to allow the market-place to decide the worth of the book on its own. It stands by itself, or it fails based on how it is received by the on-line community. And while Amazon has not yet figured out how to waft the aroma of books electronically, or to fold back the corner of a page for future reference, it succeeds in providing a convenient way to read a book -- nay, MANY books -- in a compact format. You can read on your computer screen, on a tablet or on a smart phone, limited only by the amount of charge in your battery. Kindle books are sometimes offered free for various periods of time. This is often a marketing tactic to stimulate demand for an author's work. Otherwise, Kindle books typically range from 99 cents to perhaps $9.99. They are delivered instantly to your reader and they are yours forever. Also, when you read a book on Kindle, you might love it enough to go out and buy a hard copy to grow old with... or to have the author sign. I just bought a hard copy of Caroline Glick's excellent analysis, "The Israeli Solution," after reading it on Kindle, and she signed it. Reader, go, search Kindle. Find a book that you have to read. Buy it. Read it. Repeat.
Always had good experiences with Amazon, good value and large selection of random objects you never knew you needed! Customer services good and answer questions concerns promptly. I have a kindle and have only ever brought 10 books as they have thousands and thousands of free ones which in this day and age is fantastic.
I ordered some fairly expensive facial moisturizer with sunscreen, along with some that was less expensive. I started in on the cheaper stuff, and then I tried the $$ brand. The pump on the bottle would not work--I tried everything.
By this time the 30 day window for return was past. I wrote Amazon anyway, explaining the situation.
Before the day was over, they had ANSWERED MY EMAIL and REFUNDED MY MONEY!
Now that's service!
I <3 Amazon
I have been using Amazon for years and it just keeps on getting better. What really helps is to be a PRIME member since you get all of your stuff shipped in two days or less. So far I have bought textbooks, baby toys, Kindle, Amazon Echo, Amazon fire, books, phone covers, RC planes, and car parts. Amazon really is a one stop shop. On top of this Amazon has a thriving review and online community. Ask a question and you will get an answer. Amazon really has it all, anytime to be delivered anywhere.
Update from my earlier review of this site giant... My most recent purchases include an audio item, and then the present, a mixed-small-item purchase, still to be delivered. The 1st took 2 tries (warehouse deals) because the 1st didn't operate at all (wasted time!); thankfully, the 2nd was the winner. Then with my present order: Am very frustrated with their present delivery arrangement. I, of course, opted for free ship, which stated 5-8days, but in the process of completing the order, I was immediately informed that it would arrive in 9days- this is fraudulent, and ridiculously long, by today's standards (I shop at many sites). (the audio item took 7 days) Today is over 4 days after I placed the last order, and it hasn't been pulled yet, so I doubt it will arrive on the 9th day. Wasted an hour w/ cust. Service (3 reps) who could not accelerate the order (one item would have an increased price), and after all that, would not even issue a courtesy store credit, for the FRAUDULENT advertising, and my wasted time (a small credit was offered in the distant past by their reps). I believe the few customers who haven't paid for Prime Ship are penalized for doing so... all other "shortcuts" and customer disservice are apparently needed to fund Bezos' master plan to overtake the world. Their customer service has really disintegrated (the 1st rep who took my call just spouted useless, "from-their-CS-manual" platitudes) -- I will place the site on the bottom of my shopping list.
Amazon is the best online retailer hands-down. If/when you ever need it, their customer service is excellent. I used to shop ebay but found their products to be questionable, whereas most products via amazon are quality and reliable.
Amazon owns a ripoff company called Woot, hundreds of BBB complaints. The policy is to get order, have Amazon charge the credit card, and THEN send you a email informing the customer that there is no warranty and no returns on the defective junk they are going to ship you.
Amazon will tell you, they can not or will not help you. Woot could care less, they have 100's of complaints and are proud of the fact that they do not even look at them, let lone respond.
Amazon will "refund and charge back" if it is a out side vendor, when it involves a company they own their policy is to send a automated email telling you to go away
Great prices and the items are always great and arrive on time or sooner :)
What can I say that you don't already know! Amazon is The only place where you can buy an engagement ring and toothpaste in the same order! It's you one stop shop to really buy anything you need.
Best store i have ever experienced you can find easily and almost everything here at amazon store.
It doesn't matter what you're looking for, Amazon.com probably has it! Choose Amazon.com before you go anywhere else, and you won't regret it. If it's not available new, look for used items. Whatever you're looking for, you truly can find a great deal on Amazon.com!
They keep increasing the price and the shipping keeps getting slower and slower. It used to be 2 day shipping meant you could order Monday and get something Wednesday. Now you order Monday and don't get it until Thursday or Friday depending on the item. On top of that the price has gone up every year. Now their saying that we can't have family accounts anymore? I just don't think that Prime is worth it anymore.
I have ordered many things from this store and had never faced any problem.
Answer: I concur with all of the above answers except about the kindle. I have contacted Amazon via phone and they were very helpful.
Answer: Bought a hair dryer for my daughter in Melbourne. Arrived no probs.
Answer: Try Walmart! They deliver food too, and they accept EBT as well. I am switching to Walmart now because I ordered food from Amazon Fresh on 4 different occasions, and never received my groceries. I am disabled and I live alone, so I need delivery service to be reliable and dependable. Clearly, Amazon Fresh is neither reliable nor dependable, which sucks.
Answer: I have never shipped or had things shipped to or from Australia. Sorry
Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
Answer: Yes I do on the items I purchase and also through google and sitejabber
Answer: It takes longer if you don't pay monthly for Amazon prime.
Answer: The shipping cost is in the listing if that's what you're asking. If you click on new/used, it will be below the cost. If you have Prime, most things are free shipping.
Answer: You answer on the actual question I believe.
Answer: The above answers are good - I agree that a personal contact on the phone is best. - Go to 'Your Account', then click 'Let Us Help You' -then click Help - Then 'need more help',- then click 'Contact Us' - fill out the 3 steps and choose 'more no norder questions, - then clock on phone - from there it will direct you (how long the wait etc and they call you back)
