Compelled to update on my on-going shopping on this site: They've recently removed ALL info on their site, re any method to receive ANY customer service... my last entry here mentioned a 'text' method, that was INEFFECTUAL in reaching Cust Svc. NOW, it appears that this method is the only way to contact them! On their site, they no longer state their previous EMAIL ADDR for Cust Svc, NOR, their actual phone number. I'd just placed an order, and an item has not been shipped, after 5 days after my order. I cannot contact A HUMAN AGENT! Their previous email address, to which I sent 2 msgs re this order, states 'due to CV issues, expect a reply within 5 days, and 2 WEEKS before a full 'conclusion'/'resolution', to your issue'! ---> NO Customer Service! Their SOLE CONTACT, VIA TEXT, is a joke -- it is the infamously INEFFECTUAL 'virtual assistant', only good to 'burn' thru your time, effort, and utter frustration. This IS my last order, after more than 5 years of shopping. I'll be requesting a chargeback from my credit card firm for this order; an item that will probably NOT BE SHIPPED, yet was charged. --- SHOP AT YOUR RISK! What an embarrassing DEMISE of a formerly, rather impressive 'upscale' site!

Still Among 'Best' for Pre-Owned Clothing

To anyone who's interested in my updates: Customer for clothing over 7 years; obviously, am satisfied to remain a customer. Updates, IMHO: 1) Prices hv increased, 2) Clothing selection 'struggles' to keep filled. In Coats, they'd introduced a large 'Unsigned' category; ie, no 'designer' name; mainly fur coats, but overpriced, imho, bc they ARE unsigned, 3) ALL-IMPORTANT FACTOR - Customer Svc: Introduction of service via text, and 'migration' away from phone agents. I tried the 'text' method, and couldn't get past their automatic reply of 'how to return your items', or some such useless queries, and anyway, I required an actual agent to help with a return. The 2nd reason I still shop the site is bc of their reasonable return policy, which is REQUIRED bc their inventory IS PRE-OWNED. If any TRR personnel is reading this msg: Pls DO NOT ELIMINATE YOUR PHONE CUST SVC - else, I will not continue to shop. (again, I didn't find their new service-via-text option useful/easy to use). Their phone agents are now out-of-country; I had to call today with a problem, and had no problems with communication. --- Happy shopping :)

Will make this update succinct... Customer for about 4 yrs, buying clothes only (NO big-designer handbags, nor shoes). Pros: 1) Still one of the best sites insofar as selection, 2) Possible to get a good/great price due to pre-ownership. Cons: 1) HORRIFIC, DETERIORATED Cust Service: 1 hour wait via phone, totally useless via email, 2) Condition of items: Always 50-50 on whether actual condition is as listed-view photos carefully, but expect condition to be WORSE... Just return it! 3) Packing and Shipping: Worse packing than Walmart-clothing is placed in a dustbag, and then in a plastic mailing bag; if bulky, you may get lucky to get a box. All their sites-CA (80% inventory held here), NJ, AND Stores (marketed as handling the "best" pieces-hah!) - handle clothes in this manner, no matter how famous, well-known, or $$$ the designer! (4 yrs ago, NJ used hangers, garment bags AND boxes, for the big designers, BUT NO MORE). To me, $12 ship is OK (shipping is $$-be realistic!), but slowest service that I didn't know possible from UPS - I live in PA, and a CA package takes 8 days! Conclusion: Service has deteriorated/CHEAPENED in all aspects over a short 4 yrs-very frustrating! "Management" is really s--- up! So, if you have the time and patience, good luck and happy hunting!

Update re This Site; 04/2019

• Previous review

Forgot to add another comment to my updates re this site- After more than 4 yrs shopping... 1. Selection: Re "designer" brands for pre-owned clothing, the best in my opinion, 2. Condition: "50-50"; beware; descriptions may be inaccurate (untruthful!); the more-famous/popular the designer, more incidents of "inaccuracy". Also, if you like designers who are popular with the counterfeiters, beware; I just returned a clothing item I was quite certain was a fake (and a really bad one; I'm a seamstress, and of course, have designer items). Although the Cust Svc agent was great in handling the return, they simply re-listed it for the next unfortunate customer, 3. Prices: Volatile; the more famous/popular designers prices continue to increase, 4. Customer Svc: Has improved, more agents added; most are courteous, and will attempt to retain you as a (happy) customer. Cust Svc is the reason I'm still shopping here, 5. Pet peeves - Shipping, and CA warehouse packing methods: 90+% of their inventory is stored in CA, and they've contracted for the slowest (ie, cheapest) UPS service- 7+ days from CA to PA - this is ridiculous and irritating! (USPS is 3 days Priority) And worse, this warehouse's packing policy is to squash your purchase in the smallest box they have, no matter what the item is, its size, or designer. Even if it is a very-top-european designer (ie, very-high original price), do not doubt that it will be SQUASHED into a 20x16x5 box (their medium box)! In all the items I've received from them (+90%), I believe that this warehouse just does not STOCK a larger box. (This is a slight improvement over their practice 3 yrs ago- I ordered a trench coat, several leather jackets (all w/ an original retail of over $600), and each was SQUASHED into a 16x12 TYVEX BAG as a mailing "container" - can you believe it?! Obviously due to massive complaints, they've moved on into small boxes, haha) If you should be lucky to order an item stocked at their NJ warehouse, now this location does pack your precious item CORRECTLY; they use their largest box FREELY (28x18x6, approx), as EXPECTED for a high-original-value item! (Shout-out to NJ!) So, depending on what you like, and what you would accept, you may enjoy shopping here :))

Intermittent Update to Soliloquy re TheRealReal

• Previous review

Another random update of my shopping (as a customer for 4 years). Pros: 1) Still one of the better sites for upper-end clothing insofar as selection, and possible expected condition, 2) Possible to get a good/great price (because of pre-ownership). Cons: 1) Deteriorated, HORRIFIC customer service- like recent comments, waits of an hour via phone, worst I've experienced. But, most agents are reasonable with most requests. Useless service via email- a reply over several/many days. 2) Pricing: Erratic; higher for what they consider big-name designers. 3) Condition of Items: 50-50 if the condition is as listed; they have ALWAYS minimized/failed to include negative descriptions - Just return it! 4) Packing & Shipping: CHEAP practices-the item is placed/stuffed(!) into a dustbag, then into a outer mailing bag; if bulky, like a coat/jacket, then "possibly" into a box -- worse than Walmart! Four yrs ago, if the item was stored in NJ (~10-20% of inventory), and the item was truly a big designer (orig retail price in the Thousands), they would place it on a hanger and garment bag, then into a box - this is a "proper" way to treat such an item! But now, ALL sites-NJ, their STORES(! Marketed as holding the "best/like-new" items), and CA (always handled items in this way)-treat ALL items as described above -- "how to save $5, but lose cust goodwill"! The only "good" thing about shipping is the cost - $12 is OK for UPS, $20 for expedited, but-is their slowest service-I live in PA, and have to wait 7-10 calendar days! Conclusion: If you like upper-end clothing, and have the patience and time for atrocious cust service, poor item handling (+cost, you may have to send the item to be pressed), and returns, this site may be acceptable... good luck and happy hunting!

Yet Another Update from Repeat Customer
11/27/18
• Previous review

Another update for this site, as a problem has recurred (for me)... General comments re this site (I only buy clothes, shoes & handbags): 1) Good inventory, 2) Truthful listing descriptions are the problem- consider 50-50 that the item's condition has been honestly provided. If "top designer", my experience is that damage, extreme signs of wear, etc, have been deliberately NOT LISTED so the item "appears" to be in acceptable state for wearing. 3) The saving grace for #2 is their phone cust. Service; most reps are courteous, and will work with you for a return, or issue with the item. Latest development (late 2018) is addition of telework for their reps, so perhaps this situation will improve the morale of their staff (previously encountered several very terse, "unhappy" reps). 4) Newest warning: Items out of Brisbane, CA location can be inappropriately packed- I just received a leather jacket (approx original retail $700+) that was absolutely SQUASHED into a box the size for SHOES, 13x10x3! And, delivery before that was a TOP DESIGNER trench coat (sz Sm, womens), PLUS a pair of TOP DESIGNER sandals, BOTH SQUASHED into their next-larger size box, 16x11x4! (Delivery of a trench coat (sz Med) last year was simply packed in a SMALL! Tyvex-type bag, not a box!) All this out of their CA warehouse; either management loves this manager for this dubious shipping "economy", or, they should be ALERTED... This kind of economy can possibly damage the items, but definitely IS CHEAP, clearly inappropriate for the particular high-$ item, and for PUBLIC RELATIONS! How can you continue to tout your "exclusivity" for high-end goods if you practice this kind of presentation and delivery? (BTW, all the items out of their NJ location are wonderfully and correctly, packed, in contrast - No complaints there) So, my conclusion: Take care with your selections, expect dissatisfaction with their listing descriptions, and perhaps, become acquainted with phoning their cust. Service for a remedy. (Their email service is possibly too slow; 2 days to respond)

IMHO: Devolved into 'Absolutely-No-Service' besides Taking Your $ and Sending Your Order
12/8/16
• Previous review

Am compelled to post this update bc my present situation. One of the items I just received has damage that was not disclosed in the listing. Tried to contact Cust Svc that has recently devolved to NON-EXISTENCE, insofar as VIA HUMANS, leaving 2 frustrating 'options': 1) Via text, which just gets you to an AI/automated program, and (out of desperation) 2) via email. Tried 1), and gave up after a tedious question-&-answer game that started with the 'voice' asking my first name, my last name...and, I gave up! Am forced to try email: Previously, they had staff on Saturdays who responded, but no longer; if I even get a response, it will be 'within 3-5 business days'. As short as 6 months ago, you could still phone them, and get A HUMAN, but this has been discontinued. I'm theorizing that the poor economy has management rewriting their operational playbook to reduce costs, BUT, TO ELIMINATE EASILY-ACCESSIBLE HUMAN CUSTOMER SERVICE is sadly misguided - they will lose even more customers, myself included. I've been a customer for more than 5 years, and am very disappointed, and frustrated, in Management's devolved 'No Customer Service (So Don't Expect Any)', as evidenced by NO OTHER CONTACT INFO ON THEIR SITE, besides their horrific text-automated system. (At the start of my shopping, more than 5 years ago, their Cust Svc was excellent, including Phone Agents, who nearly always resolved my problems within the call)

  • Eventbrite

1/11/22

(If there was a zero rating, I'd use it)... This 'venting' is bc I cannot complain directly to this FRAUDULENT FIRM; they hv an intrusive email form that asks for details I'd not divulge online. Neither can I complain to my credit card (CC) firm, bc it is not their concern to try to investigate fraudulent firms. If you're unaware, this firm's business is to collect entrance fees for events, on behalf of firms, restaurants, venues, etc. This msg informs anyone concerned that a second incident of a fraudulent use of my CC has been made by this firm. The first incident occurred 2 years ago, in which 2 charges for events were charged to my CC; these charges specified 'Eventbrite' as the firm making the charges, and occurred shortly after I made one charge, for an event. My CC firm investigated my complaints, and these charges were removed from my account. In the present case, a fraudulent charge was made more than 1 month after I made one charge, for an event. This fraudulent charge specified '... ACT. Dallas', which strongly suggests that 'Eventbrite' is the culprit, again - I firmly believe that this firm is the culprit, bc all charges so far hv been to stores of which I frequent, and hv not incurred fraudulent activities. I've contacted my CC firm, and they are investigating my assertion of this fraudulent use. Therefore, a warning: If you use this firm, carefully examine your CC statements for some time after making a purchase: You may be a victim of fraudulent activity.

2/8/21

Called this firm ("New Customer" phone number) to inquire about prices, etc. THEY APPROPRIATED MY PHONE NUMBER ("Caller ID" on their side) WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and then proceeded to call me EVERY DAY since my (one) call, to "drum up business". I just called both the "new cust" number, and, the local location, in order to demand that my number be stricken from their IMPERMISSIBLE, and annoying, calls "for my business". --- With this "kind" of service, I don't need theirs; if I require storage space, I'll go elsewhere.

Writing this in the age of streaming, and recent news of Netflix's "wild spending" to attract new customers - obviously only for streaming customers! Have been DVD customer, on&off for many years, but this last return to their service is the worst, bc their local service facility was closed in my city, and is now in a neighboring state. Now, not only does it take more than 3 days to receive my next disc, but it appears that their arrangement with USPS has apparently deteriorated/discontinued because my returned disc is NOT scanned immediately to have my NEXT disc prepared to be sent, as previously done. So, with my 1-disc service, I actually get one disc every 5+ days, unlike the past wherein I could get one disc, say every 3+ days... this is unacceptable! (My last disc took 4 days to be "received") So, cancelling this week, and noting that I should reconsider my entertainment needs before re-subscribing again (if ever). I get more satisfaction from borrowing from my local library!

  • HomeAway

10/30/19

I've used VRBO for several years; this is my 1st with Homeaway. Just learned that it is now VRBO/HA, and very frustrating to use (to say the least, dependent on your problem with them). Can you imagine that this "new" firm can't employ minimally-competent software people to establish a working email service? I couldn't email the owner. This time, on the 2nd try with a service agent via phone, she had the brililant thought to call the owner(Italy), and we conversed in this way - yay! This was important as we had to confirm our 1st meeting. Sooo happy with the luck I had with THIS AGENT -Thank you, "Charlie"(young woman)! The 1st via chat was dumb as a rock, and when he asked "did you try to call the owner?", I knew I reached his gray-cell limit, and my end of my patience ("if I could call, would I be talking to you now? - duh). ---This is very discouraging; I wonder how I will arrange our housing on our next trip, since this firm is now a "zero"? :((

Fairly certain this firm is bogus; they're supposedly the warranty service firm representing the refurb'er/reseller of an HP printer I ordered from Amazon (or are they one and the same?). I couldn't register my refurb for their claimed "90-day warranty" on their "site" (also bogus?), nor do they have any other means of contact besides email - 3 msgs to which they HAVEN'T REPLIED. But, they had the nerve to ask for an edit/removal of my negative review! I suggest that any possible-buyers to re-consider their purchase: you may not receive the item in the condition that was advertised, and most likely not receive any promised service of any kind after delivery.

  • The Outnet

11/29/18

Last update: I've finally received my order- it appears my order "sat" in their warehouse (NJ) for more than 2 days (more than 4 if counting the wkend!), before "someone" placed it in their outgoing UPS bin. My last msgs to Cust Svc got one reply saying "your order shows movement" - Clearly, NO coordination nor communication between their administrative offices and warehouse operations (US)! Additional negative comments: (2) No sig requirement with MY UPS local office, contrary to what's stated on the firm's site; if you required confirmation (ie, your sig) that YOU correctly received YOUR order, it may not occur; (3) my very $$ item was a jacket that was "stuffed" into a box smaller than it should have been, from a "luxury goods" standpoint. The only good news: the item ordered was authentic (designer), and in new condition, as it should have been(!), the price was good (sale), AND, my local UPS office and carrier are accurate (excepting the sig omission). So, given the overwhelming negative aspects of this purchase, I maintain that this is my last order from this firm. It appears that alot of happy customers have not bothered to relate their experiences, so it may be concluded that I've just been more than unlucky with this firm - I don't know. But, I'm sticking with my regular sites for way better, ACTUAL customer service vs. the type and quality of goods of which I like to shop. (Again, I'm amazed that this NEARLY ZERO level/quality of customer service of a firm boasting high priced, "luxury" goods has been accepted by a majority of shoppers!)

Update: Appears that I've erred in failing to remember NOT to use this firm, and this (stupid!) 2nd attempt in ordering from this horrific firm is "all on me"! --- Anxiously awaiting my very $$$ order to arrive - 4th day after ordering, but the warehouse failed to ENTER the shipment into the UPS system - I don't even know if the box left their warehouse! Their email Cust Svc is atrocious - they didn't answer my msgs about this NON-scanning issue, just one reply saying "they're trying to answer my question". I'm disputing the payment now with my CC firm; at least I can do this in preparation of not receiving my order. --- I may update this entry... BUT STAY AWAY - I won't use this firm again!

Update for my comments just written yesterday- This atrocious site is unbelievable! If possible to leave negative 5 stars, I would... First AND LAST TIME on this site-Purchased 2 coats; received only one -- 1. Didn't receive status of order, nor shipping ETA, 2. They "cancelled" one coat purchase with no warning, due to "inventory" --> a. They DON'T KNOW WHAT ITEMS THEY'RE SELLING ON THEIR SITE, b. I had to CALL THEM to discover this unilateral action - NO msgs sent re this situation, 3. NO WRITTEN receipt w/ the shipped item-as confirmation, and for return purposes (RMA) ---> 4. TOTALLY INCORRECT return instructions given by their reps and repeated on their site- was erroneously told that UPS was to provide a ship label- never heard of this - and they(UPS) DON'T-had to re-call this STUPID SITE to have an ACTUAL competent rep generate the label, and a written confirmation of my return. Altogether, more than an hour spent on the phone for THIS SITE - and with NO result except useless aggravation. What IDIOCY - A TOTALLY INEPT COMPANY- why are they still in business? And, laughingly, they attempt to convey "quality" since they are a "high-end, $$$" firm. Stay away!

UPDATE for THIS TIME - Am venting/providing a caution re this site: All my previous comments remain; beware of "nasty/extremely unprofessional" sellers, but can get good deals, with awesome sellers - just review "love notes", and ask their email-only Cust Svc (one-day response) on other ways to check up on a seller. Otherwise: I've just completed my SECOND, yes - SECOND "Incident Report of Fraudulent Use of CC" with my CC firm -- This is 2nd time my card has been hacked FROM THIS SITE, and used to buy stuff. --- So, this is a suggestion RE THIS SITE (unfortunately) - PAY THRU Paypal, not with your CC directly, to minimize your chances of your card being HACKED! --- This SUGGESTION is NOT a guarantee, but I've not had a problem with PP/Ebay since being a customer&seller, over a decade.

OK; Take care w/ Sellers

Made 1st purchase today; Sweet, verified seller ("top rated"), got good prices on a bundle. Site's rather-recent revamped look and policies are an improvement over original: Ship cost is standardized for 5 lbs, and good for bundle from 1 seller; Site now does not encourage trades-the latter was a bad idea anyway, and now has "customer guarantee" before releasing funds to the seller - GREAT idea (like Tradesy). Lastly, communication with site itself is only via email; got an answer to a? A few days after inquiry-At least they make an effort (so far)! Had reviewed other recent comments, and agree that buyer's experience is dependent on the seller - lots of sellers are irresponsible (ADD-challenged "young adults"), and they just disappear after they post their items, and/or they mis-advertise, etc = bad sellers. You can ask about their ratings; its "some" small guarantee about their conduct and listed items. Another slight annoyance for me, but I guess part of the site's "charm"---People can just chat away endlessly, and off-topic; another "social network" I don't need. Otherwise, an OK site for used clothing and accessories if you're careful about the seller, and with their improved buyer protection policies.

Am shocked at the huge number of negative reviews - I was a veryvery small seller in 2012; I sold a few things, and had no problems with my customers, nor the site; in fact, as a new online seller, I had alot of? S, but had EXCELLENT help from their email-only customer service. So flash forward to present - I was considering reviving my account to sell again, and came across sitejabber (great site!), and these negative reviews. Whew - thank you all for your comments - even if there are many happy users of the present bonanza who haven't input - would like your comments also! - I'll avoid the site.

Update from my earlier review of this site giant... My most recent purchases include an audio item, and then the present, a mixed-small-item purchase, still to be delivered. The 1st took 2 tries (warehouse deals) because the 1st didn't operate at all (wasted time!); thankfully, the 2nd was the winner. Then with my present order: Am very frustrated with their present delivery arrangement. I, of course, opted for free ship, which stated 5-8days, but in the process of completing the order, I was immediately informed that it would arrive in 9days- this is fraudulent, and ridiculously long, by today's standards (I shop at many sites). (the audio item took 7 days) Today is over 4 days after I placed the last order, and it hasn't been pulled yet, so I doubt it will arrive on the 9th day. Wasted an hour w/ cust. Service (3 reps) who could not accelerate the order (one item would have an increased price), and after all that, would not even issue a courtesy store credit, for the FRAUDULENT advertising, and my wasted time (a small credit was offered in the distant past by their reps). I believe the few customers who haven't paid for Prime Ship are penalized for doing so... all other "shortcuts" and customer disservice are apparently needed to fund Bezos' master plan to overtake the world. Their customer service has really disintegrated (the 1st rep who took my call just spouted useless, "from-their-CS-manual" platitudes) -- I will place the site on the bottom of my shopping list.

  • Tripboba

Caveat-while these reviews are generally negative, and most probably a small % of total customers, will agree w/ one commenter that I will not list on this site. Was not impressed that they have only one rep working email; I had (not unusual)? S that took 1-3 days for her to answer - why don't they list them on their FAQS? (they like to push their full-service, while I'm an experienced DIY) As another person remarked, why don't LEGIT businesses have a PHONE customer service line? This firm lists a phone #, but it's a recording! (btw, thanks to all who post/read this)

  • Tradesy

2/24/15

10/01/2016 - Was a very small "closet" seller on Tradesy for a couple of years, and was pleased to have made a handful of sales, not as many as on another, probably due to its clientele (younger; 16-35?) These sales went well, and there were no problems with collecting my funds. I was not required to check-in very frequently; my account was linked with my email address, so I was alerted if there was any activity. My last check-in was a couple of months ago, when I updated my listings, and made my firrst purchase. I just logged in again to check my listings to discover all were gone, apparently deleted by the firm, for no reason. I wanted to contact them, but also discovered that they eliminated the choice to phone them, but replaced this option w/ a chat service. I emailed them, and wow-didn't receive an answer (previously, I had excellent communication)! So, I guess I'm a gone girl as regards to using this site as a seller OR buyer - I won't return at all... What professionalism!

Ordered a new Samsung just before the holidays... Not only did I receive the incorrect model, this one was damaged, dirty, and packed with no charger nor instructions, in a dirty, generic Samsung-labeled box! Immediately called them, and the guy claimed a fast refund including my postage cost. Gave them a few days, but I called them for my refund... They only refunded the price, w/o the postage as promised; am ticked because I paid extra for insurance too. Writing this off as bad experience - never to order from these fraudulent sellers again - they have 2 sites selling cellphones. (PS: Am glad to find this site - another one I posted removed my complaint, and demanded a copy of my receipt, didn't even claim that they would re-post my comments... Even "comment" sites are corrupt!)
