The overall reputation of the company appears to be declining, with numerous customers expressing frustration over product quality and inconsistent service. While some positive experiences were noted regarding specific deliveries, the majority of feedback highlights significant issues, particularly with returns, customer support accessibility, and the handling of complaints. Many customers reported long delays in refunds and dissatisfaction with third-party seller transactions. Additionally, concerns about misleading promotions and inadequate packaging further contribute to a negative sentiment. Overall, the company faces challenges in maintaining customer satisfaction and trust.

During the Prime Special that lasted four days, I had purchased four items. That was on the 9th of July. I looked up the tracking of those items and I couldn't believe it. They will deliver my stuff between the 31st of July and 2nd of August. Am I reading it right?!
Never ever did I have to wait 3 weeks for such basic stuff. And what about our Prime membership that we pay for every single month? Does it still mean anything to anybody any more?
That's an absolute joke. I thought I was getting a great deal on things but it sounds to me I will have to go laundry soap shopping pretty soon as mine is running out. The one I ordered is nowhere in sight 😡
Terrible service!
I purchased a Hengstenberg's cabbage ( made in Germany) It was the fourth time Amazon sends me a jar that's leaking red cabbage liquid. It was an absolute mess. And it hasn't been an isolated incident.
We love this particular cabbage and it's not always available in stores. Almost each and every time the cabbage jar is soaked in red juices and leaking.
I left them a review complaining that it arrives in terrible condition and they should pay attention to how they package their items. This one arrived in a paper envelope with a bit of bubble wrap around the jar. When I opened the envelope my hands were all red and the jar was completely opened. I have had it with them. It took them a week to respond to me.
Finally I get a response (pictures) and once again they sound completely ridiculous: they're saying they won't allow my review since I base my review on delivery and packaging. As if to say " this is useless information for future buyers" and has nothing to do with the product itself?
Sure, I can't even return it as I have tried to do it myself. Amazon standard of packaging is super low and they wash their hands of any responsibility. It is after all part of your entire
Shopping experience and a dismal one at that.
So, I can't have my money back, I can't return it and I can't post my review.
Who the heck is this sorry looking Amazon business in Canada? The website has become a cheap version of Temu, SHEIN and Wish. Terrible quality with super high prices.
Shame on them!
I will make sure everyone knows about it.
Two of my recent orders (an antibiotic cream and fabric bandages) arrived pretty much without their proper packaging. They were ripped across the corners and glued seams. I don't mean the Amazon packaging but the boxes that those item are being sold in. The Amazon folks put my items in plastic mailers that are easily getting squished under heavier items. By the time I got my order I received the bandages without a box and same applies to my antibiotic cream.
I wrote a review again and AGAIN Amazon refused to post it. This time they claim I cannot comment on " sellers, delivery, packaging, pricing and availability ".
Ok you're not suppose to say anything about " packaging" (?) but that's a HUGE part of the Amazon business, isn't it? Its "Amazon" logo is written on mailers and cardboard boxes. It's written on all their vans and trucks.
How would you like to go to a store and find Elastoplast bandaids sitting on a shelf without any box… or 500 Q- tips without its box to hold them? Salt without a box?….what kind of nonsense is it?!
Why is Amazon claiming that somehow this is not IMPORTANT to EVERY buyer? What sort of logic are they using?
I pay for Prime membership and I am entitled to having my orders secured in proper boxes.
You cannot reason with bird brains that don't see the basic principles of proper and secure delivery after a purchase has been made. In fact, I believe they truly don't care.
How many more of these dumb responses am I still going to get?
I can't believe the greed Amazon Canada is displaying right now ( and has for the last year or so).
They (Amazon) would say it's not us, it's the individual companies or private small entities that raise the prices. Amazon is FAR from doing ANYTHING about it, either. In fact, they happily turn a blind eye on the price gouging since asking for more $ gets them a nice little cut that goes straight into their pockets.
It has become disgustingly obvious. It's not about making money but becoming filthy rich.
They have no conscience, decency or soul.
I have been with Amazon for quite some time but I have never seen what I'm seeing right now.
In post pandemic times, it's been so hard on everybody to find a decent place to live, manage their daily grocery shopping or just shop for anything else.
Example of Amazon's price gouging:
I had been buying planter's peanuts for a few months. The last time I bought them, a bag of 600 grams was selling for $6.99. Things had changed though and the price jumped to $17 for the same bag of peanuts. I quit buying them and found something else. I can only say that after a while the price had dropped again. I suppose it's only because most of us stopped buying them.
Prices change on a daily basis.
Just last week I purchased a block of lovely watercolor paper for a little over $15 for 50 thick sheets. I thought it was a lovely deal and went back to check on it three days later. Surprise? This time it went up to $25 dollars for exactly the same stuff. Who does that? What's wrong with them? I guess it's the same thing again: " let's see how many idiots we can find out there that are going to pay for it?"
Not a chance. Another pass from me on that.
It's been happening to me on so many occasions I'd run out of space here to tell you all about it.
One last thing, have you noticed how they started manipulating prices based on color?
I can't possibly remember coming across men's golf polos ( for my husband) and noticing that a shirt in a color I like gets to be $20 to $40 more than the next one from the same cheap Chinese exporter?
Who has the decency to jack up the price by that much?
It's called GREED and that's all there is to it.
It's disgusting, abhorrent and makes me want to
That's all I wanted to say in this rant.
I will continue bringing new observations as soon as they're available.
Thank you,
Anna B.
Warning do not buy food here. Almost expired, crushed boxes and made me throw up. Ordering process, customer service terrible and innefective and theft from account.
I was promised an extension by multiple Amazon reps while I waited for a reply from the seller. I wanted to give Amazon and the seller the opportunity to solve the issue. I was promised there were notes in my file. I was promised that the calls were recorded. I also rebooked Intelcom for a return that was not picked up as scheduled by Amazon. I was told they'd come Sat at 10. Now I'm told Intelcom doesn't pick up on Saturdays. I am told that all of the reps put no notes in my file. I was told that it is against policy to listen to the quality assurance recordings. I am now told I missed both deadlines, one for believing 3 different reps that I had an extension and could return a product, one because their pickup service didn't show up. I can no longer be a customer of Amazon due to all of this cheating. Amazon has changed their treatment of customers and I am now forced to return anything I can and end the business.
I used to buy everything from amazon canada. The last few things i buy just seems to be garbage. Im loosing money buying amazon garbage. Think im going to stop buying from amazon and look for a place with better quaility stuff
Illegal products sold by amazon, not approved by CSA! How to be allowed? Customers be aware
Why not 00 review, even with the stars they play with, crooks

BE WARNED - Amazon is soliciting your government issued ID or they will refuse to refund your return. I was informed by my bank DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ID. There is currently a class action lawsuit against them because of this. If they refund the same method of payment how exactly is this even needed? They are a retailer! I have filed a complaint with Ontario Consumer Protection. This is how they detour the consumers from returning a poor quality product. They are now holding my refund hostage. It's a scam.
I was logged into my amazon account and got an ad for 3 months free for Amazon music. I clicked through and signed up and only got 1 month. Bait and switch advertising.
This is a direct copy of the review I gave to amazon that they did not like.
First thing I disliked was the fact the box did not come sealed in a cellophane plastic. Meaning it was opened or some one bought it and returned it. The second dislike is there were large number of open barrel "U" connectors missing. To be exact 100 pcs. The first photo was the box that came with the advertised connectors, the second is a photo of what I got inside the box with the largest "U" connectors missing. I only received 3 sizes of the 4 sizes "U" connectors as advertised. The final photo is the ad that was put on Amazon to entice you to buy product.
I have read from many other people that they have purchased a product only to find out that someone before them bought it and opened it then sent it back to where it's put back on the shelf and the poor customer that orders the same product gets an open package delivered with pieces missing or taken out.
Amazon's return policy is a joke. When you go to create a return it would display when you will receive your refund BUT if you call them that is not what they tell you. Some of my items were refunded within a day or two, some 7 days and then 30 days. They will always tell you that you will receive your refund after WE RECEIVE your item. That IS NOT what it says when you create the return. Usually it states 7 or 16 days for refund from the time of drop off. BUT their system never updates the drop off! Amazon changes their policy like the wind. I'm going back to Walmart this isn't worth my time.
After I posted my review they changed my refund date. I am reporting them to Consumer Affairs they may be able to set a return window but once it's issued they cannot change it.
I recently learned that although Amazon guarantees your return they offer the manufacturer return criteria they can choose from. What? So the refund is based on what criteria the return fits. Mine was over $100 therefore it will take almost 30 days to get my refund. Stupidest thing I have ever heard! If you buy from a seller other than Amazon and it's over $100 this is your headache. Also Amazon can't do anything about it. Amazon is supposed to make shopping easier but they have added too many restrictions lately.
First, *Do not buy anything on Amazon.ca that is sold by a third party seller*.
Amazon will not help you at all, and you'll get ripped off from those third party sellers.
What they call an A -Z guarantee is completely useless!
Customer service hides their phone number, making it difficult to speak to a human. If you do reach a human they won't help you, they just hang up on you!
They hung up on me twice today. Even by a so-called supervisor!
I was told by 3 customer service people that the last person I spoke to gave me the WRONG INFORMATION… and they won't make it right! (In other words, You lose sucker!)
Amazon.ca is expensive and purchases are often shipped from the USA which may cost you duties.
Typical Canada, you won't find any bargains here! It's a world away from Amazon.com.
I had ordered over $5,000 of products from AMAZON, almost a month later, it was never shipped and now I see they issued a refund for all my items. Someone had the use of my money and I have incurred interest charges on my visa, very poor performance. My like for AMAZON went out the window.
Placed an order on Amazon. Somehow I got signed up for prime free trial. I did not chose this as I was waiting till I wanted to watch something on there service. Contacted customer support they said there is nothing they could do. So I asked them to cancel my order and my account. I was informed the order was cancelled and received an email stating my account would be cancelled. Then the shipped me the order and cancelled my account. Now I can not get help because I do not have an account but I have an order I no longer want. And tried to call for help but because my account is canceled nobody knows what to do.
I was on the phone with Amazon 3 times about a complaint. For one I was told different things each time. Two they dont listen. 3 rude as f*co. 4they tried defrauding me when I had all the documents in front of me. 5 since when is it okay to laugh at someone's complaint and frustration in customer service? Since the new influx of "new canadians", numbers show that service in companys and business has gone down. Numbers dont like and I'm sorry but people bread and born here shouldnt feel like we are being runned out (business, etc). This is my freedom of speech. Why are we being silenced. #Trudeau needs to go. #big trump supporter. One more thing. Why is trump taking care or people from his own country and Trudeau screws people who built this country.
Seems Amazon Canada has adopted the corporate culture of the Liberal/NDP and lie and lie and lie. There resolution process is mostly AI and does not cover many issues of their customers. Making the process of buying online frustrating that suggests to avoid the frustration humans should simply support local stores. Trading convenience for frustration is just not worth it.
I ordered an item from Amazon that was supposed to arrive on Feb. 3,2024. The item didn't arrive and I got an email saying it might not arrive until Feb. 9,2024. On Feb. 5,2024 the delivery person didn't knock on the door they simply slipped a pick up slip through the mail slot. (We were sitting at the table and heard the mail slot so retrieved the slip. By the time we read the slip the delivery person had disappeared.) I went to pick up the item and they told me it wasn't there.
I could've gone downtown and bought this item. I chose Amazon to have the product delivered and save having to go out and shop. (convenience) They destroyed convenience and made going out shopping a must!
I told the person who said my product wasn't there after I had made the trip to pick it up that when they got it in to send it back to Amazon. I started a refund through Amazon. They said it would take a month to process my refund and another week for my bank to action the refund. I have taken my cc off of Amazon and cancelled my subscription to Prime!
My advice to people ordering from Amazon is don't do it! Its a nightmare!
Manufacturer and Amazon failed me, didn't deliver order after 10 months and cancelled just now! 7 months ago I called to either cancel or get the item as well, and the Amazon rep LIED to me saying they were getting the mufflers back in stock already so I should just wait... nothing. Destroyed my project and now increasing pricing for me as I could have gotten it and other parts in the order elsewhere nearly 11 months earlier! (now it's winter)
They didn't deliver items then it took 6 weeks, 3 (expensive) phone calls, and 8 chats on site to get a full refund. They kept blaming my bank but when I threatened legal action they sent it back!
I am still £70 out of pocket because phone calls and they never respond when asking about complaints or compensation
I've been shopping with Amazon for a long time and since they switched delivery company my parcels aren't being delivered or even attempted to be delivered. Customer service doesn't seem to care when you contact them about the problem. Amazon definitely isn't the way they used to be. Once I get my last refund for a parcel that was sent back because of being undeliverable at the same address that I've been using for years, I'm closing my account
Charged credit card on Jan 2 for a purchase I did not make - no invoice was issued and when asked to provide proof of delivery and invoice I was told my account had been sanitized so there was no proof.
Yet I have email with a bogus order number - they say does not exist. Each of the 5 times I call they said I would get a refund within 3 to 5 days. As of today Jan 24th I have not received a refund proof of delivery or an invoice for the product.
WORST company ever when they make a mistake - apparently they just erase all proof
I bought a resilient sounds team 18 for over $1800 in total. The sub has a loose part in the magnet and the sub wasn't blown or abused. I had it for one week and when I finished its break in period I turned it up more and heard awful rattle inside which is called the shorting ring. GTA electronics says they won't refund and to talk to resilient sounds for warranty. The sub must have come to me defective because it's only a week old and the coil reads 1ohm like it should. Resilient sounds says to cut it open on video and they would do warranty if it's the shorting ring. All I want is what I paid for, a working subwoofer! Hopefully Amazon is gonna refund the purchase cause they have a a-z guarantee refund policy. I got a defective sub and want it returned and the seller and manufacturer are screwing me. Hopefully Amazon will help me but shame on gta electronics store and shame on resilient sounds. They should take the sub back and send me a new one that's been tested and works. The quality control is garbage not only the loose part in the magnet but the surround wasn't even glued properly. I though Amazon would be taking the game over but not when their third party sellers are doing such bad business. They small business guys will do just fine if this kinda crap keeps up.
Answer: Don't believe their delivery guarantee. They are late 4/10 times and are unremorseful for it
Answer: Very tough! No longer usable fir me, a Top 1000 and Vines Reviewer.
Answer: If you need customer service good luck it's not existing
Answer: I've never had to pay duty on anything from Amazon.ca, even if it was shipped from another country.
Answer: If Amazon is going to use a third party courier service, (such as Intelcom), cancel your order and shop elsewhere.
Answer: Happened to me. Just another sneaky way that Amazon operates. Welcome to the club.
