Title: Poor Customer Service – Forced to Pay Return Shipping Despite Defective Item and Expert Evidence I purchased a hard drive from AliExpress that arrived damaged. There is a technical expert report and a screenshot from a hard drive diagnostic tool clearly proving the defect was not caused by me. Despite this, AliExpress repeatedly demands that I return the item at my own expense by May 23,2025. The return shipping cost is over €21, while the item price was only about €11. I have contacted customer service and even the escalation team (2nd support level) multiple times, but their responses are repetitive and do not address the issue of unfair return shipping costs. It is very disappointing that AliExpress does not take responsibility for shipping damage and insists on unreasonable conditions for returns. I would caution others to be aware of this if you buy electronics from them.

I have purchased with them before and felt safe so long as stuff arrived. When it doesn't, the site 'customer service' is carefully designed to appear helpful while doing nothing. I waited til long past the 'latest promised delivery date' and reached out to the seller, who made up a fake delivery date which they couldn't support when I sent photo evidence of the real date. They promised to help then ghosted me. After far too long Aliexpress 'stepped in' and proceeded to lead me in a drawn out process which looped on itself for several weeks. They lie about having 'real agents' because they are also bots, after the first bot gives you useless loop solutions. The second bot will 'make sure you are contacted in 48 hours' and this email will take you to a page promising an update in 'ten days'. After ten days it updates to the current date and repeats the 10 day message. Over and over. After receiving another loop 'resolution' after weeks of 'resolutions' I just reported as scam to my credit card with screenshots. I will never waste my time on this site again. They protect and propagate scammers.

Beware of wooden teaspoons

I am proudly one of the least scammable people on the planet so, understandably, I am reluctant to admit that, yes, I got scammed by an AliExpress seller and AliExpress helped them do it. I ordered a number of items and they all came together, individually packaged but all in a big additional bag. This is not unusual. What was unusual, were two of the items I received. One was a wooden teaspoon in a little sealed bag (like you might help yourself to at a coffee shop) which I immediately discarded as it was of no use or value. The other was a small air tight bag that may have been filled with a white powder. I was DEFINITELY not going to open this. For some reason I kept the sealed bag and most of its packaging.
Shortly after this I noticed an item worth about $14, which I had not yet received, was showing as delivered. I raised this as a query and that's when the fun started.
The scam is simple. Instead of sending the $14 item they send me a useless item of zero value which I am almost guaranteed to immediately dump. The $14 item shows as delivered because a delivery of an anonymous wooden teaspoon was recorded.
Because I no longer have the teaspoon or its packaging I can not prove any of this happened and the Ali Express version of justice requires ME to supply proof of innocence.
So, I can kiss good-bye to my $14 dollars.
I have to say that the scam is clever in its simplicity almost to the point of them deserving my $14. Almost.
If it had been $140 I might think differently, but as it's the smaller amount I can right it off as swings and roundabouts. So, the moral of this cautionary tale is to beware of wooden teaspoons or any zero vaue useless item and if you do receive one photograoh it and its packaging from all angles before disposal.

How to survive (and thrive) with AliExpress.

It's been almost a year since I wrote my rather negative review of AliExpress and I have learned a lot since then. To be fair, I think AliExpress has also learn a few things as well. I've continued to use the platform, but my MO has evolved. This, and the fact that AliExpress has also evolved leaves me with fewer murderous thoughts and even, dare I say, a growing fondness.
There are mainly 3 reasons for this:
1. I now rarely order anything that is not in the "Choice" category where, for orders over $15, the entire delivery is free. Also the delivery times are way shorter at around 2 weeks and often even quicker.
2. Also, accessed from the home page, there is another category of personal "picks", which requires the buyer to order at least 3 items to get the free delivery. The items available here are sometime at crazy low prices and the actual items offered seem to be influenced by what you have previously been looking for.
So, I start off by looking for my target items by selecting the "choice" filter, but before going to my cart and purchasing. I look in the "pick" section to see if any of the items in my cart are available here at knock-down prices. This required a bit more effort, but I feel that the rewards make it worthwhile.
3. I have also found that AliExpress has improved their refund policy in several ways.
If an item doesn't arrive by the due date and I request a refund, it will often come through immediately and automatically if the item was of a lower value, and still quite quickly for a more expensive item.
Of course it is still possible that some of your purchases will be total fizzers but a refund request, if accompanied by some good evidentiary photos and a properly laid out written explanation, will now usually be well received. Often, for cheaper items, no return is required and when a return is requested they send a label to cover the shipping cost.
Thing don't always go to plan. I recently received an item I forgot I had ordered 7 MONTHS AGO. As I said in my original review you will need to look at the big picture. Yes there will probably still be disasters and disappointments, but if the overall pricing is leaving you well ahead of the game, you'll come out smiling.

There's ALWAYS a problem.

The AliExpress system appears to have guarantees, but of the wrong type. Their low prices are immediately obvious although it is quite common to suddenly find a delivery charge applied to a "Free Delivery" item, or wildly disproportional delivery charges as the quantity increases. And that's OK, because if you are vigilant, you can avoid these many crafty traps.
What you can't avoid is the result of being sent a totally different product to what you ordered and also finding that it is unusable because of a very obvious manufacturing fault.
1. The cost of returning the item is often greater than it's value.
2. AliExpress has a very Chinese approach to justice which is impossible to negotiate by western standards. Some of this could be explained by the language barrier and problems with auto-translation which is mostly only entertaining.
3. Their appeal system is totally hit-&-miss.
4. Any statement from the seller is taken to be absolutely correct, even after you have proved it to be total load of rubbish and provided stacks of clear supporting evidence.

I ordered a "10 inch" keyboard. The "8 inch" one I received was (obviously) not the one I ordered. It was also faulty with a large manufacturing bulge fault on the back which caused it to spin around when trying to type, AND the escape key did not work.
IT WAS TOTALLY USELESS.
I requested a FULL refund of $14.54 which included the money I also wasted on postage.
After appealing weeks of plain stupidity and standard delays I got a refund of $5.82 which was outrageous and unacceptable, but VERY final.
AliExpress had already offered me a refund of $12.38 which I had rejected, on principle, because I wanted a FULL refund, including postage, because IT WAS TOTALLY USELESS.
The moral to this sadly typical story is to take a statistical approach:
If the items you order are a third of the local price and you only receive half of them in working order, you're ahead of the game.
SO, if you start by expecting to receive a wrong, misrepresented, or faulty item, (or no item at all) you may survive (and find yourself trying to retain your sanity by writing negative reviews like this one).

I bought an item marked "Free Return within 90 days". The product I received was wrong and didn't match the description. I submitted full photo/video evidence. AliExpress support confirmed the return several times (on April 16,17 and May 9), and said I could print a return label. But no label was ever available. Then they gave me four different excuses: 1. Seller refused to provide the label 2. My order wasn't eligible 3. Return cost must be paid by me 4. I had exceeded 5 returns (not true — only ONE return ever in my history) Now they ask me to pay €49 to return a €26 item — violating their own policy that return shipping should not exceed item value. Support sends copy-paste replies and avoids the facts. I'm preparing to file official complaints if this doesn't get resolved. Be very careful — their "Free Return" promise is unreliable. ‼‼‼
Your response does not reflect the facts of my case. You claim to have "already provided a solution," yet I still did not receive the promised return label — despite 3 separate emails from AliExpress support (April 16,17, and May 9) stating it was ready. Instead of solving the problem, your team gave me four different and contradictory explanations: 1. Seller refused to provide return label. 2. My order was not eligible for free return. 3. I must pay €49 shipping to return a €26 item. 4. I exceeded 5 returns (not true — I had only 1 prior return ever). None of these are consistent with your platform's own return policy, or with the "Free Return within 90 days" label shown at time of purchase. Your responses continue to avoid the core issue, and this hurts buyer trust. Please stop sending copy-paste replies and resolve the case properly.

Stay away! Buyers beware. Order a water filter. Listing said it would ship in the US and arrive with a week roughly, April 30, it's May 13th and it never even shipped. Right after I paid for it, the Ali Express app stated it would deliver in 33 days from China. Immediately asked AliExpress and the seller to cancel the order. AliExpress said it depends on the seller. The seller didn't even ship the item and said since it was in process they couldn't cancel. In the US it is illegal to market something and then change the terms after the purchase. But apparently this is how business is done on Ali Express. I'm out almost $300 and still don't have my product. My first and last time ever ordering from AliExpress again. Their communication and process is terrible. In addition to the bait and switch marketing they created. Not a reputable business at all. Stay far away.

ZERO VALUE! Products are very often not as described & just junk! Now, they have a new policy, they delete all records of your purchases, so you can't request returns refunds or make use of a manufacturer warranty!

The seller authorized a refund weeks ago because my Order ID: 8194689899604090 was lost at an airport with no tracking updates since November 9th! AliExpress is going out of business & no longer issues refunds or delivers orders! AS well, they no longer have a customer service department!

I placed an order for an AV receiver on AliExpress on April 5. The item was listed as "shipped from the US," but this turned out to be false. The next day, the seller uploaded a USPS tracking number that only showed "label created" with no actual shipment. Days later, AliExpress support told me the item was actually coming from China, not the US as advertised, thus there was a delay -- but that's not true based on the later development. Then, things got worse. On April 14, the seller changed the tracking number to one that showed a USPS package delivered on April 10 — but that package wasn't addressed to me. It was just something delivered to someone else in my city. AliExpress (and USPS tracking visible to buyers) only shows the city, not the full address, which the seller exploited to fake a successful delivery. I obtained proof from USPS, including the actual shipping slip, showing that package went to a different address. I submitted this as part of a dispute with AliExpress. Still, on April 16, they emailed me saying I needed to prove the package was lost. I explained the package was never mine — it was delivered to someone else. Despite this, AliExpress closed the dispute in the seller's favor on April 18, because I couldn't "prove" a package that wasn't mine got lost. Thankfully, I had used PayPal to pay. I filed a dispute there, and although AliExpress initially provided the misleading tracking info, I spoke to PayPal agents who requested proof of delivery to my address, which AliExpress could not provide. PayPal ultimately refunded me. Throughout this process, AliExpress customer service was useless — they repeated the same lines about "escalating" while the dispute team (which I had no access to) made unreasonable demands. AliExpress not only failed to stop a fraudulent seller, but actively enabled them by ignoring clear evidence and hiding behind flawed dispute policies. If you're thinking of buying anything valuable from AliExpress — don't. Their protections are unreliable, and in my case, they sided with a scammer using USPS loopholes to fake delivery.

I opened a dispute and they've extended it over and over again, each time adding 10 more days — this has happened 4 times already. I even contacted them through Facebook. I've had a really frustrating experience with AliExpress. I placed an order, decided to return the item, and followed all the return steps exactly as instructed. AliExpress allowed a seller to take my money and then cancel my order, claiming a pricing mistake — and they've done absolutely nothing about it for over a month. I ordered and paid for a mattress. The seller refused to ship it and told me to reorder at a higher price. I contacted AliExpress support many times through chat and social media. They keep giving me the same answer: "wait for an email" — but no email ever arrives. Now the seller has even blocked me from viewing their store. AliExpress support refuses to take action, refuses to apply a coupon, and refuses to escalate the case. This is not how a global platform should treat its customers. I've now filed an official complaint and will make sure this case is shared widely so others don't fall victim to the same scam. Order Number: **************

I bought a product that didn't work at all, so I returned it right away. The seller accepted the return and even issued a refund, but AliExpress is still holding my money. It's been a month and a half, and I haven't received the refund. Every time I contact customer service, they just tell me that "the case has been handed over to the best AliExpress team," but nothing ever happens. They've been giving me the same excuse for weeks and basically just lying to me. This is unacceptable. The seller did their part, but AliExpress is the one keeping my money. Very frustrating experience — I don't trust this platform anymore.

Mixer has problem

I tell you honestly about AliExpress shopping, I shop here a lot and am a long-time customer of AliExpress because I am a buyer who wants a good item to use, not that I want to buy and then complain and return it because doing so is a waste of my time. But every time I complain about an item and have evidence, even recording a video, but the problem is not resolved, not just me but many customers are in the same situation as me. If this problem is not resolved, I probably will not dare to shop on AliExpress because it is not fair to customers. I tell you the truth, why don't you imitate companies like Temu or Amazon or eBay... those companies are very satisfied with their customers. I just sent that video, but it was the same, so why did I send the video? And I did the same thing with many other items, but it didn't work. So you see, for a while I didn't shop on AliExpress because I was afraid that the seller would send bad products. I hope you reconsider so that customers can continue shopping because now many companies are competing and treating customers much better than AliExpress.

Rating: (would give zero stars if I could) This has to be, hands down, one of the most laughably terrible shopping experiences I've ever had—thanks to PRO HONSUN Bike Store and the ever-reliable AliExpress. I ordered something that looked decent in the photos (key word: looked), but what I received was a complete joke. It was the wrong item, made with dollar-store level materials, and packaged like someone lost a bet. Honestly, I've seen better quality fall out of a vending machine. The seller, PRO HONSUN Bike Store, clearly couldn't care less. I reached out multiple times and got either ignored or fed a string of generic copy-paste replies that solved nothing. Their communication style is basically "stall and hope you go away." I opened a dispute, thinking maybe AliExpress would help fix it. Silly me. The dispute process is a maze of frustration, and in the end, all I got was more wasted time, money and a useless product I didn't ask for. Save yourself the headache—avoid PRO HONSUN Bike Store like the plague, and honestly, think twice about using AliExpress at all. This platform has turned into the Wild West of online shopping, where the customer is always wrong and sellers can get away with anything.

I placed two orders (Order #************** and #**************) and was guaranteed by AliExpress that they would not be canceled. I specifically told them I did not want a refund—I just wanted the items I paid for. Despite that, they canceled both orders without asking me and refunded the money, completely ignoring everything I said. When I contacted support, I was given the same copy-paste message repeatedly, with no real help or explanation. Total waste of time and energy. Absolutely zero accountability. Avoid this platform if you expect reliable service or trustworthy support.

Purchased an Aqara smoke detector which constantly disconnects from a genuine Aqara Hub gen2. I have many other sensors connected to the hub which have never disconnected. I supplied lots of logs to show how many times the detector disconnects. I supplied a video to show the position of the hub to the sensor. Aliexpress sided with the seller and refused my return request. They never offered any sort of solution so I'm stuck with a faulty smoke detector which is untrustworthy.
Absolutely rubbish customer service so have deleted my account. I will also delete my Lazada account in Thailand as its owned by the same company.
I got a reply when I left a review on Trustpilot but it was just standard saying I had deleted my account so they couldn't contact me. Well if they had read my review they would see I told them I had done that.
If they actually cared they have my email address.
