Zzounds, first and foremost, does not care about you as a customer. If you won't spend your money with them, somebody else will. They know that, and that's exactly how you can expect to be treated. Customer service acts as if you're burdening them with questions and concerns over where your money went or your product hasn't. Their "free 2 Day shipping" is essentially a scam, as the CSR will tell you in so many words that it's not two days from when you order, it's two days from when they decide to start shipping. That means you can order a product on a Monday with "free 2 Day shipping," but if they don't send the product out until that Friday, you won't see it until next week. I've already been charged for a product that should've arrived this afternoon. CSR confirmed it's still just sitting at the warehouse. If I recieve my product at all, I'll update this regarding the condition of their open box products, but as I'm on day 4 of my "free 2 Day shipping," I'm not sure I won't just cancel entirely. I was enthusiastic, letting the CSR know this was my first Zzounds experience, and I was looking forward to seeing them apart from Sweetwater, my go-to gear gurus. Unfortunately, it's a uninformed, unappreciative, and nonchalant attitude that separates Zzo's from the pros. This will be my first and last experience with the Zzound hounds.

I have spent thousands of dollars with this company I recently ordered a Marshall stack that was placed on her around 5 August mind you this is the second time I ordered the same product first one was lost called in they said they would overnight my order next day FedEx get a hold of me says it's gonna be 2 to 3 more days for the delivery I missed two gigs concerts and lost money on both of them because of the unprofessionalism of ZZOUNDS
I would not recommend buying anything from ZZOUNDS at this point!
I was told by a supervisor when I asked what about the money I've lost from my gigs it was blatantly told there wasn't nothing I could do about it they weren't going to help out they weren't going to fix it they weren't even going to fix the delivery of the item I ordered this company sucks!

I purchased a DEAN vmntx made in CHINA completely disappointed the knobs pull off and the plug in Jack broke off inside the guitar! I I write zzounds told them about the issues zzounds told me they would take care of the problem they also sent me instructions how to return it for a new one or a refund. I'm going to give zzsounds another shot wish dean would inspect these MADE IN CHINA JUNK GUITARS. This company offers extremely little communication with the customer, and the second you tell them they're messing up, they cancel your order. This was my first experience with them and it's truly the most disgusting yet. I placed a $1400 order with them, the next day they said I needed to call in so I did, we verified all the info and the rep said I would start getting updates and we were good to go, then two days later (with no reason attatched) they cancelled the entire order after I sent an email asking for an update. So I went to Sweetwater and got my purchase approved and shipped DAY OF PURCHASE. This experience was extremely back handed after waiting a whole week of trying to get this stuff. Never have I EVER had a company plain out cancel an order and not even respond to my inquiry, they were truly a waste of a hard inquiry on my credit, and a waste of breath speaking to on the phone. This company is nothing but shade. DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY!
I was a Zzounds customer for over 15 years. The Marshall DSL20HR I purchased was defective. They said if I returned it they wouldn't do business with me. So, I returned the amp and switched to Sweetwater. The best choice I have ever made. Dylan the manager is an $#*!. Their BBB has all kinds of bad marks on it. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE JERKS!

We got our son's drumset from here and my midget's bass... both shipped UNBELIEVABLY fast. Seriously, we got the drumset in 2 days and the bass in 3 (it was ordered on a weekend). Their pay as you play plan was super easy to use and the best way to rock while on a budget.
The customer service was great. Their drum experts took the time to hold my hand, in essence, when it came to picking out our son's drum set (computers and electronics mom knows, drums not so much), and with their guidence Tynan got the perfect drumset (Gretsch five piece with cymbals) that will grow with him for nearly 50% off. When the guy at guitar center found out what set the 6 yr old was playing on, he thought we were kidding since it's such a nice, expensive set.
Since the drum experience was so great I got my husband's Bad Bad Girlfriend from there (Schecter Stiletto Studio-5 Bass) with a case. They matched the price of the competition without question. We were able to get the matching case and bass for less than the bass alone was on sale at the other sites.

Zzounds has ripped me off twice now, has horrible customer service. Sweetwaters 55 point inspection plan isnt perfect or the best, they sometimes miss things, but at least they inspect it. Zzounds you dont know what you are getting, if it will work.If it doesnt, you will get some jerk talking to you like you are a piece of crap, do not matter and you are a criminal for being unhappy. I bought a $1800 guitar for a Christmas present to myself.It was unplayable. Zzounds returns department does not take phone calls, or make phone calls, is a total pain to deal with. They offered a $120 credit, is all they offered to me, so i took it. After taking the guitar to multiple repair centers being told the guitar needs a new neck. Zzounds refused to help me and still expects me to make 6 more payments or will report me. I dont know what to do.It would be nice if they would contact Fender because Fenders warranty is useless and Fender is not allowed to talk to customers only dealers and repair centers.Zzounds.com are scum of the earth, they are all that is wrong with this world. They are ruthless, accept no responsibilty for their actions.
I recently purchased a line 6 spider V. Was very excited. Needed a combo amp for practice and studio work. The amp came and wasn't functional. The only thing that worked was the tuner. Absolutely no sound so I messaged them and wanted to exchange it for something else. I wasn't asking for an expensive amp I was asking for fair compensation for what time I lost, and money I'm also losing on it. What is even worse is they said they would make it right. Yeah we will exchange it. Then later, no you pay the difference. As if I was asking for a $500 dollar difference in product. Exchange a cheap combo amp for a cheap combo amp… That's all. They didn't make it right. Didn't send me an email saying why they wouldn't. They just sent me an email saying I'll be refunded. They've lost a costumer for life. I'll go to sweetwater from now on and I'll be sure every musician I know heard about it and decides to stay away from zzounds. You can't tell people you'll make it right and then treat them like they don't matter after you messed up. That's not how the world works and definitely not how a business should be ran…..

Every time I call ZZounds I receive the worst customer service ever. They sound like they doing give a rat's $#*! what your issue is. No empathy whatsoever. They keep tying my account to an ex-boyfriend who they claim didn't pay his balance. I haven't lived with the dude in years and there's no way he has my new card info or new address and they keep tying me to his account and not allowing my orders to go through. The worst part is that not too long ago I ordered a keyboard stand and I paid for it in full upfront. They sent the stand over and that was over with it, but when I tried paying for four pieces of equipment on a payment plan with "no credit check" they simply cancelled it on the day it was supposed to be delivered and claimed it was because I typed my address wrong and it could not be verified. They asked me to place the order again, so I double-checked my card billing address and shipping and placed the order again. They cancelled again and this time they finally told me "the truth". The truth that they could've simply told me the first time around to save me the time from trying to do it again and get my gear on time for my upcoming gig. The second time is when they told me my order was cancelled because I used information similar to an old account that had a pending balance. They couldn't give me any more information on it because it doesn't have my name but I remembered it may have been my ex's old account because we use to live together 4 years ago and he may have used our address but I haven't lived with him since then so it's BS that they claim similar info was used. And the agents don't give a damn. They don't care I'm not going to get my gear on time for my gig nor that I have nothing to do with my ex's account. They suck. Too bad because I would be buying stuff from them all the time. Don't buy from them unless you pay upfront or don't care to deal with $#*!ty customer service.
It was my first time purchasing from ZZounds and first time purchasing an instrument online. I didn't read any reviews on the company and do I regret it. The purchasing was seamless but there where issues with delivery. They state free 2 day shipping but its not 2 day its sent out ground which can take up to a week or more. I had an issue with fedex not having enough staff so was told i was going to have to wait an additional 3-5 days to get it. This was not all of zZounds fault the only fault on their part was stating its 2 day when in fact it is ground. Lie number 1. When i called and asked about this I was met with its in our policy and if you dont want it refuse it. Since this was a birthday gift and no other stores had this guitar available I contacted FedEx and explained my situation. FedEx helped zZounds washed their hands of it. WHen I received the gift a day late i took the guitar out immediately to tune and wrap up. To my surprise 3 string where muffled due to either neck, fret or nut issue. They don't check the quality of the instrument before shipping since their are multiple reviews stating the same. When i called back to let them know i got an: oh we are sorry you can return the item and we can ship out a new or provide a refund" Of course i went with the refund since i dont want to spend my money with a company who does not value a customer. 3rd week waiting now for my money so i can go buy another gift. I have never purchased from sweetwater or anywhere but this has definitely swayed me away from buying online unless the company has a location in my city. Ill stick with guitar center or Sam ash.
Now as of writing this, I've yet to receive my order, but I am slightly upset with my order. I purchased a few items, but the big ones were a Classic Vibe 70s Telecaster Thinline, and a Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster. When I placed me order, both said they were in stock, and while the Jazzmaster was delayed a couple days, I was happy to see that everything aside from it had been shipped the day I ordered. However, I woke up this morning, on the day of my first shipment, to find an email saying that the Jazzmaster was back ordered. I wouldn't be upset that it was back ordered if I hadn't been told I'd get it by the 7th. My question is why the hell would it say it was in stock, say that it'd be delivered in a couple days, and even say it was preparing for shipment, only to be told it's back ordered with no information on when it'd be back in stock? The photos I've attached say the 6th because I was late to go through their identity verification process. I'm hoping the rest of my order is fine and arrives okay, but I'm not hopeful give the happenings with the Jazzmaster.
Answer: You can't start out buying a $2K guitar with bad credit. Buy a lesser model and pay it out over 4 months. I've never been turned down and have bought about $9K in guitars from them, with poor credit.
Answer: I don't know who wrote the Experian lie. From what I'm gathering from "reviews", Zzounds has/is in the middle of an outright, SMEAR CAMPAIGN. They have no "hidden agenda." They, from my end, having ordered many times and always on a payment plan, have never sent me an, after the fact, email or an indiscriminate document I supposedly signed w/o reading about interest payments are to be paid immediately upon receipt of email. You don't sign anything. You make your first, slightly higher payment that covers processing. It's prudent and wise to vet claims that just sound too good to be true, they are legitimate from this site, irregardless of the one trusted advisor who might know a lot on the subject but clearly, not everything. It's termed, "in house" credit which mean, the company itself is showing faith in you even w/o knowing or even wanting to know, your score. If you don't pay, they eat it or, depending on the amount, it becomes a civil matter It's kinda sweet when you consider (and you have) how much fraud you have, especially on the web. In the past there were many more businesses willing to trust you at your word. Because more people felt like Scarface did about the two things, he don't break for no one. Zzounds is the REAL Musicians Friend.

Answer: You can't use a prepaid card with zZounds. They require a bank issued debit card or a credit card. So long as you use your bank issued debit card that is linked to your checking account, you will not be charged interest. Or, use your credit card and pay it off to avoid interest. Your claim that zZounds is lying about charging interest is untrue. They don't charge interest at all. If you choose to not pay off your credit card balance and let interest build, that is completely your decision and not zZounds. Hope this helps answer your concern. I buy everything from zZounds on payment plans, never been charged interest as I use my bank issued debit card. :)
Answer: If you have a higher priced guitar, like say a Gibson Les Paul Standard, it may take up to 4 days, as they have to find the exact serial number you selected, rather than just ship the next one. Normally, lower priced guitars take 2 days maximum, based on my experience
