Long ago, I decided to abide by a self imposed policy of not buying things on credit. In so doing eliminated all of my debt and have been fairly good about holding true to the promise I made to myself. However, my studio needs are growing faster than my equipment can provide. I still don't wish to turn a liquidated debt into an unliquidated debt by virtue of getting bogged down with interest rates etc. ZZSounds claims not to charge interest on purchases and other associated fees appear clearly stated. Despite these claims, one who uses a traditional line of credit with one of the main credit card companies *would* nevertheless be charged interest on the purchase by that third-party credit card complany. A viable exception to this would be a pre-paid credit card via the same reputable third-party credit card company. This way there is a closer nexus to the clearly agreed upon amount the consumer owes and that represented by ZZSounds. Doing otherwise, involves a level of hidden financing on the part of the customer that he or she may not be cognizant he or she is doing through carrying and maintaining an outstanding balance (generally) on his or her credit card, including but not limited to that which he or she may owe ZZSounds per ZZ's agreement with them. You can see where one can put themselves behind the eight-ball here. It seems paying for the item outright or through an interest free devoted pre-paid card would be more prudent. Do you know whether ZZ accepts bona finde pre-paid credit cards (so long as it's issued by one of the accepted providers listed on the site)? The importance of the customer maintainIng a sufficiently high anticipatory line of funds notwithstanding, as a point that clearly goes without saying. Thank you for your help in clarifying this point.

You can't use a prepaid card with zZounds. They require a bank issued debit card or a credit card. So long as you use your bank issued debit card that is linked to your checking account, you will not be charged interest. Or, use your credit card and pay it off to avoid interest.

Your claim that zZounds is lying about charging interest is untrue. They don't charge interest at all. If you choose to not pay off your credit card balance and let interest build, that is completely your decision and not zZounds.

Hope this helps answer your concern. I buy everything from zZounds on payment plans, never been charged interest as I use my bank issued debit card. :)
