Zillow has had inaccurate information about my home on their website for almost a year. I have written to them on four (4) separate occasions to get it corrected. Every time they reply with the "there's nothing we can do" response.

I even sent screen shots showing how the search results don't even match the address entered, but the "Help" people again said, "Nothing we can do about it."

So the data they have is incorrect, unreliable, not factual, points to the wrong addresses, and they can't do a thing about it.

Recommend you use other resources.

Iffy
April 27, 2023

The customer service is a little iffy. There are many scams to watch out for. I find myself constantly reporting obviously fraudulent listings. The private listers are so much more professional than the realtors that list. The feature for renters to pay fees thru the app does help with the legitimacy of each rental.

Zillow is great to get basic information about most homes. However, the valuations can be a bit off, either up or down. People make the mistake of using it as their only source for comps when house hunting. Zillow does not replace a Realtor. However, it does give you a great starting point.

Zillow leaves a lot to be desired but it's a good place to start researching. The visuals alone do that.

I wish they would add a feature that allows searches by the number of levels a house has--one story; two stories (or more); unfinished basement; finished basement, etc.

The thing is, a LOT of us are getting older and only want to consider a one-story home. Falls are a concern, but even more than that is the day-to-day difficulty of climbing and going down stairs.

Zillow is a great site for finding out area property information and values. The data regarding taxes and sales dates, etc. is very informative, however, their valuation of properties can be a bit off. Most likely they base their valuations on previous sales and their estimates are general. If you are looking for property valuation use Zillow for information and then check with several local real estate professionals for the true estimates of valuations. If you are searching for increasing values in a depressed market, the market can change for the better much quicker than reports on Zillow.com. Zillow does eventually catch up though.

No pics? Next...
December 20, 2021

There are A LOT of lazy real estate agents on Zillow. I would never contract with an agent that doesn't take the time to take pics or takes dark or lousy pics. If a Zillow listing does not have pics, I (and many others) will not even consider the property and will move to the next. Also, the lazy agents don't take the time to describe the home and instead say something like agent, see notes. What good does that do the average home shopper that doesn't have an agent yet? If there is a HOA fee or lot rent fee, Zillow always avoids revealing this info even though it is significant toward the true price of the home. And if you try to look for a house in FL, you will have to go through thousands of manufactured homes that lazy real estate agents should have listed in manufactured home section. Lots of room for Zillow improvements.

Best of a bad bunch
February 12, 2018

All of the real estate referrals for rentals, Vacation homes, and furnished apartments are extraordinarily expensive for what you get. In almost all cases tenants pay between six and 18% premium plus a 2 1/2% deduction for Credit card payments after the property owner pays $400 to advertise on their site. Zillow is the last of the free sites that operates just like a classified advertisement. So save yourself 10% on every vacation booking I'm getting contact with the owners directly via Zillow

Horrible customer service. I listed my rental on Zillow and started getting calls the same day. 48 hours later I had my rental secured with a new tenant! Great! So now I have been spending the last two weeks trying to remove the rental so people stop calling me. I have contacted Zillow corporate in Seattle three times and all you get is an answering machine telling you to leave a message and I'll call you back. They never called back. There is no Tab for landlords on their website! Oh we can a half later, I am giving up. The thing is, that this is going to reflect negatively on Zillow because when people don't get return phone calls for me, they will blame Zillow, not me.

Zillow is horrible, to say the least. They do not respond to emails or phone calls. There is absolutely No Customer Service, and if you happen to get any at all, they are simply terrible. They just don't care, bottom line! Their estimates for home pricing are way off! They don't take into consideration improvements, neighborhood, etc. They go solely off of sq footage, it's a joke!

Upon trying to review an agent who failed miserably in working as my listing agent It appears that Zillow is shielding this agent from some negative reviews. I submitted my review about a month ago and haven't received any feedback rather it was accepted or not. Chances are it was flagged since it rated the agent with one star and recommended against his services. It was an honest review of his overall lack of efforts and bad attitude towards us, his clients. I'll likely stop using Zillow all together. It likely won't affect them but I'll be satisfied by just not using them.

The information I've seen on this site is way wrong! I've looked up multiple houses of people I know and pretty much 60% or more of the info was wrong. Even my own house which we are the first and only owners of claims to have been sold a few years after it was built. Don't waste your time with them you're better of getting information another way!

Zillow.com Has To Stop posting photos taken by owners, they are the Worst. 2. Does NOT narrow down choices to the exact place you want to look. Real estate sites need a "clear history" option to clear out old searches. Most important, stop showing me houses an hour or more away from the city limits of the city of my search. If I type in a zip code, I mean only that zip code.

Fair Warning! After years of giving Zillow the heave ho, I recently looked at their site information. Guess what? Nothing has changed with their guess appraisals, In my opinion this company is not a reliable and is a POS. Pass them by and save yourself grief.

Zillow is a terrible website to use when searching for a place. Why is it that you can't put 1-2,3-4, just 1, just 2 bedrooms, etc.? It always has to be X+ whatever you're looking for. Why is it that when I put the maximum willing to pay for rent at a certain price point the right side consistently comes up with things WAY out of my price range? Or homes that are 6 bedrooms when all I want is one or two? Don't even get me started on how badly it "sorts" the homes/apartments, also. "Low to high" is a lie. Scrolling down I see 1, 386, 1, 209, 1690, 864. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm sure I'm not using the site wrong, I'm sure it's just a terrible site. I've had better luck just looking at Google maps. Seriously.

My home is listed as a foreclosure... HUH?
And I must register with them to correct THEIR false information?
I think not. Bogus info, leads to nowhere, old and invalid listings. Don't waste your time.

$2500 a month for 1.5 leads a month. 4 actual leads and the rest should never have been transferred. Dog walkers looking for her clients, a dad checking to see if his son got a good deal on the house he bought, a guy from out of town who needed a tour guide, none of these should have qualified as "leads" each cost me $2500 - Run screaming and go get your own leads. One thought comes to mind "class action lawsuit"

Our home value has, according to Zillow, steadily decreased, while homes all around us have increased. Why? Who knows! I sent an e-mail to Zillow about this; they told me that they use "neural networks" to appraise homes. What BS! On our block alone, they have missed several homes that have been torn down and rebuilt to a much larger size. Houses in our area routinely sell for prices ~50% higher than shown on Zillow. Don't bother with this silly website.

We have looked at 2 different properties and been very interested emailed them (not to mention it takes a few times of emailing them before they even send a reply) and finally get in touch with someone and they say it's sold. How else are we supposed to know if it actually available people I mean really.
