Zillow can be just plain fun! Check out what it says about your house. Check out what it says about your brothers house. Even check out your nasty neighbors house. It can be very informative as to last sale price. Not all areas are covered. There is a real lack when it comes to rural areas.
Zillow lacks transparency with its users and public, zillow games the people and thrives off of bad news.
I placed an ad on Zillow on March 12,2011 to sell my lot. I paid $ 39.95 for the ad to run for 180 days. A few days after I checked the site. I could only find my ad if I typed in the exact address of the lot. It was not on any of the 10 pages which listed homes and lots in Sebring. I also checked 'lots/land' not listed there either. When I e-mailed Zillow I was told that my lot was contained in the map at the top of the page. A few days later I checked again and found my lot. I got busy with other things and did not check again until 4/19. Again, no ad. I e-mailed Zillow and was told someone would contact me. Not having heard from anyone, I checked the ad again today (4/21) No ad! I went into 'my account' and it showed I had no ad listed. I e-mailed Zillow and again I was told someone would get back to me. They took $ 39.95 of my money and did not provide the service they promised!
Zillow.com falsely advised our house in Naples Florida as Sold, the date it was sold and the price paid, the mortgage I had, this was all complete load of lies,
There is no one I can complain to about this site, and because the house is a rental has caused me no end of problems with my guests who have rented the house from me, any help would be appreciated
Zillow is great to get basic information about most homes. However, the valuations can be a bit off, either up or down. People make the mistake of using it as their only source for comps when house hunting. Zillow does not replace a Realtor. However, it does give you a great starting point.
Zillow is great for more than just property information, it helped me find a mortgage at the lowest rate, 0 points and low costs for everything.
Zillow is a great site for finding out area property information and values. The data regarding taxes and sales dates, etc. is very informative, however, their valuation of properties can be a bit off. Most likely they base their valuations on previous sales and their estimates are general. If you are looking for property valuation use Zillow for information and then check with several local real estate professionals for the true estimates of valuations. If you are searching for increasing values in a depressed market, the market can change for the better much quicker than reports on Zillow.com. Zillow does eventually catch up though.
Great site for checking out data on neighborhoods in terms of house prices based on tax assessment. If owner claims their property, can update site with more information about the property. Can use site to find real estate to purchase, can also use this site to advertise the sale of your house. Very helpful bird's eye view of neighborhoods with rough property lines and all house values showing, zoom capabilities though birds' eye view imagery is more current than zoomed in pictures. As i enjoy looking at real estate, i go to this site often when a house in the neighbhorhood goes up for sale.
Answer: All Zillow does is collect your information and when you stop paying or refuse to pay for awful service they send fraudulent trolls pretending to be a potential tenant, buyer, seller that provides no identification to post negative reviews! Zillow is a terrible website!
Answer: Why would you expect a call from the buyer. All buyers, if they want things done proper way, their lawyer/rep/realtor will call you. So, when you do a for sale by owner, you are saying, you don't have a lawyer to represent you, but the buyer will.
