They are very pushy people, they wont take no for an answer and they constantly keep calling you. I had to block their number but I'm sure they will keep calling from another one. They keep bothering me to fork out money which I actually tried before and got absolutely no calls from any customers, but they still keep bugging the crap out of me. There is nothing more annoying than companies like this bothering you constantly. As a house painter I'm sure they wouldn't like it if I called these people 5 times a week asking them if I can paint their house. They are bottom feeders looking out for their own bank account not customers. I tell them I cant afford it now but they keep insisting that I need more customers. There are definitely better ways to advertise instead of using yelp, hopefully soon they will fold cause from what I read and hear they are hurting. I wouldn't recommend them and i definitely wont sink one penny into these bottom feedind jerks total RIP off. If I could give them a negative 5 star I would.

They'll throw all your hard earned reviews into obscurity yet claim they aren't a review site. Why have a review button then?
It's RIGGED. That's just logic 101. Their reasoning fails.
How can a customer find who to *trust* if they can't manage the reviews and rely on some algorithm that after studies shows the reviewer must be an avid yelp user to even stick a review, I can cite the study! It's on the internet, just look, yelp reviews etc it'll pop up, and I did a lot of digging myself.
They sent five of my first 2 months work into 'not recommended'. I have 0 reviews now. I had a good start with five LEGIT 5 star reviews. Urge customers not to waste their time, their review will disappear...
Don't link yelp, they say that looks suspect. So you can't even link people... they just want that ad $$$$$$$$$$$$ and I'm not scared of them. If they allow a 1 star review from my competition I'll make it viral. They have a crapload of lawyers and never lose. They really have too much power over your business, and others... and it's legal...
They even have the BBB at 2 stars! Again, "not a review site" exact verbatim what I was told by their customer service.
This is just one, a downtown historic house we did in 5 days.
Does Yelp expect no reviews at first? Is that flaggable by their 'algorithm'? What incentives do small starting business owners have to even use it, it's just another platform and the reviews can't even be trusted. They admit it! "People leave fake reviews" is their reasoning. Again, why still keep reviews then!? Why? What a joke.

I can't even go into detail about Yelp, because it would raise my blood pressure too much. And I am not one of the people with bad reviews, I have 100 reviews, and every one of them 5 stars. That being said, I have seen the way they leech money and how terrible their algorithm is. Basically if you spend all your time on Yelp and give them money they reward you, if you don't your reviews are "not recommended". They are total BS. Dont use their ads. Spend your money on Google instead.

They make money off hate reviews and they won't remove them I've had people leave nasty reviews saying everyone in the company should be burned to death where the rudest people in the world has anybody met all the people in the world it's impossible to say so there is no truth in a lot of the negative reviews in most cases it's a tow company and sorry you park on somebody else's property and property manager called us to remove it some people can't take responsibility for their mistake slowly going to leave nasty reviews that'll obviously false and hateful

We had one five star yelp review and got called by yelp got told something about how it was charged to me and it was not like that she left out some things just to make sure she got her commission. To be honest I am in process of also filling with the BBB because you are taking advantage of small businesses then not telling how it actually works she said you pay by the click not you pay by the click and we charge you 90$ to have you account every month for that price I could just pay for my Facebook ad or google ads and it's free other then the service so as far as I am concerned lying to get customers is not acceptable. I will be paying my ad fee for the clicks and yelp may pay the rest for not being honest about it and i would advise anyone who reads this or used their services they do not tell the whole truth as long as you sign up and they get your money they really don't care anymore my advice use Facebook ads or google just as effective and actually costs less.

Yelp is one of the worst website I ever came across people there people kept calling me to be on their website, They told me I will have more customers because the way I do hair, people will come, I give them a try when I talk to someone, they told me, they wasn't going to charge me at this moment, si thinking maybe when I do have a Customer that when they will start charging me. That the charge me $90 in my count I called them and I told them am no longer in interesting because I didn't get no customers nobody call my phone Or text my phone. After I canceled they send me an email of my balance of $158 I say to myself why am I paying balance of $158 when I never had a customer from these people and I didn't even sign up for a month so here we are, they took out all the money in my credit card account my credit score dropped to 62 points I am so mad at myself don't even know what to do with the people they need to take the website down because they are here scaning people for their money there is no good

They automatically show the first review written about a company. Which is probably most often a negative review written in anger. This is kept up as a permanent thing with virtually no option to delete it. We recently had a potential customer bring up the 5 year old negative review to us. We then promptly called around to some of our other previous clients. We now have four other fantastic reviews that Yelp automatically decides are "not recommended." Of course they are not recommended because none of these clients use their system. It's an incredibly un-fair and biased way of rating a business. They are saying it's "freedom of speech." But, only showing consumers what they decide is relevant information. This is incredibly corrupt. They constantly hound us trying to get us to pay into advertising. They will never receive a penny from us. I hope that one day somebody launches a class action law suit against this company and we may be able to be part of that.

Yelp pretends to be all unbias and whatever they want to avoid, they use the algorithm excuse. A review by someone with 30 previous review would get hidden in the REVIEW WE DONT RECOMMEND but if it is a negative review by someone with just ONE review would stay on the top of a business's profile for years. IT provide a prefect format for unethical consumer to blackmail business and also unworthy business to get great reviews as long as they advertise or pay people to post 5 star review. Don't kid yourself, they are as corrupt as it gets.

I have repeatedly tried to leave a honest negative rating for a retailer that scammed me and is not refunding my money. Yelp keeps removing the posts. The only thing I can think is that the retailer is paying Yelp for deleting honest negative feedback. My wording was professional and real but they indicated that I had not even shopped at that retailer. Which is bizarre as they have not seen my receipts or looked at the email trail I have begging that retailer to refund my money. That retailer has the merchandise back I have FedEx proof but Yelp insists I never shopped there and deleted my post twice.

I hope these crooks will go bankrupt soon. Their stock prices have dropped tremendously and it's just a matter of time. These unethical bastards have cheated so many businesses and extorted so much money in return for being left alone with their online presence.

If the businesses does not pay for marketing, they will ruin them by removing all good reviews a leaving all bad reviews posted.

Well I hope karma will get them and all their employees too. Rot in hell losers!

We receive calls from yelp nearly weekly wanting us to pay them to help with advertising. Today I spoke with Stephen who was so unbelievably rude and wanted to do nothing but argue with me. It was honestly the craziest thing I've ever experienced from a sales call. Went from, "we can help you with your business" to sarcasm and berating. I was floored. Had to get a manager on the phone just to agree to take our phone number off a call list. Everything I said to him he wanted to argue or turn around. I could not believe it. They sound scammy and he even admitted that most everything they do can be done yourself.
