Illegal, predatory business practice that should be prosecuted. They would tell you to pay for cancellation charges with did not even make basic legal sense. Please beware and file complaints to your state department of financial services if you ever experience such situation.
Perfect tool for easy converting currencies! It's very useful when you have to figure out the price of desired item in your usual currency when you are travelling (I use their mobile application), shopping online in a foreign shop or especially if you are doing a lot of business and trade internationally. I used other websites/applications like this, but XE is definitely number one!

After some frustrations with a well-known provider I tried Xe. The site is just straightforward and obvious, totally tailored to in my case the Botswana banking system. A bank code sent to me had an error. However the correct code was looked at by the system. I only had to click my mouse twice and it was fixed.
I made two payments in less than 2 minutes. Everything was confirmed immediately by email. Within 48 hours payments were complete. The rates were excellent and the commission minimal.
So nice to work with an group who know how to develop a website. And the app looks even better.
This company is more like a currency exchange than a money transfer service. A cryptocurrency exchange. If you review their terms of service, they call transfers "trades".
Also, unlike transfer services such as Transferwise or Xoom they hold your money for at least 7 days regardless of whether you canceled your transfer the same day as initiating it. They even deducted one transfer from my account when I cancelled it prior to the date it was meant to go out so cancelling doesn't matter to them, they're taking your money and holding it for 7 days no matter what.
They also charge large fees for cancellations claiming you're paying for their losses, liabilities, etc. And they bind you with a contract tied to their terms of service to enforce it at will.
Use a different service. Something is very sketchy about this one.
This site is very useful. I use it to transfer money to Australia but always lose out 4% of the published rate! For $1200 AUD, I lose close to $50! Is that free transfer? Absolutely not! The site has become very slow and erratic. I am leaving XE after many years. I intend to go back to the bank!
I had sent money several times through Xe to my wife, who is helping her family in Colombia. Today, I started a transaction. They withdrew money from my bank account, then shut me down 15 minutes later! Supposedly, I will get my money back in as many as 7 days. They said they would not give any explanation, but it is part of their anti money laundering policy, and my information would be kept on file for 6 years! Is this some kind of joke?
They have fraud hidden fees. Customer service sucks.

They closed my account for no reason. I have made a transfer to my brother in law and they canceled the transaction, when I called they told me that the reception's bank canceled the transfer. I tried again today to send money directly to my sister and 5 minutes later after they took the money from my account I got an email saying that my account has been closed. Hopefully I do not get flagged with other companies. I truly believe that this is the worst financial firm out there.
Do not imitate a transfer over the weekends or public holidays, they will lock your money for days. They use that as an excuse to sit on your cash. Forex markets are open 24/7. The value is hidden in the PDF and is only available after you have down the transaction. FCA should be made aware of this punk
Tried to make a transfer and went through all the regulatory and security stuff. Pressed confirm button including 6 digit verification code, which said it was OK. Watched a spinning wheel for 10 minutes, so had to give up and hope it went through. It didn't. Rang customer services -usual trashy music and 'we'll be with you shortly' assurances. Result -a pissed off client and XE finally saying try again later. Not resolved. POOR
I picked XE over wise do to the fees and rates. I created an account (based in US), added 3 recipients (from Thailand and Indonesia), attempted test transfers for all 3 but only the one for Thailand recipient went through, others had "errors"? 30 minutes later my account was closed. I appealed the decision twice with customer service and my account manager. They were not allowed to share further info. I am a compliance professional myself and I am 100% certain this was handled poorly. You can RFI to mitigate certain risks or if countries are unsupported why not make it clear in the first place in the terms? Don't waste your time with XE. The discount you get compared to others like wise is unnoticeable.
After spending over an hour going through their tedious account opening and transfer process, they closed my account with no explanation. There is no means of contacting the company except a totally useless customer service e-mail which only issues a standard response

I am in a foreign country trying to get money transferred to pay a bill. Xe.com has wasted my time.
After sending money to a few of my friends and family member over the months with them, they keep asking passport copies and information from those third party account I sent money too. This not only breaks the privacy laws but me asking a third party to give me their passport details and forward to someone I have never seen or hear? Via email. After I took the matter higher up with some lawyers and my ombudsman I was advise to stop dealing with XE. Basically there is no such control and XE is on the route of non safe practises with all privacy rules and regulations in place. They will defend by saying you sign by and its says on this line etc... is all bull$#*!. They make up and bully you. Why bother! There are so many other senders that do the right thing in the industry. Beware of XE and their staff. Be warn.
My business had used XE in the past to pay suppliers in Europe. Recently, our account was put on hold for what they say was inactivity. I have called 5 times over the past two weeks to no avail. XE has the absolute worst customer service, avoid at all cost. How this company stays in business is beyond me.

I am not sure which law permits to close accounts without giving reason (other than national security laws). ONe of the craziest platforms. Not worth my time
Use them 10 times for the last year and all is well until last month the funds went missing, been calling every week and promises of investigating where the funds have gone verbally but have not acknowledge in writing. Furthermore their failure to even reply my e mails make it even worse.
No doubt, I won't be using them again and will be going back to the robbing Bank but at least I feel safer as I send thousands every 3 to 4 months
The negative reviews are very correct. This company is a hoax and a cheat. They debit money from account and then close your account without any reason even if you provide all documentation as per their need.
Warning: Do not fall for this company ever.
Dishonest business practices. They collect your personal information including bank account, social security and other info and then refuse to open your account without providing a reason and there is nothing you can do to fix any potential problem. Stay far away from this company
Find another way to move your money. This isn't an international organisation as they pose being. It's small potatoes, sad to say. I thought they'd be really great for moving my money between the US and U. K., forget it. Better to use an ATM and give people cash, or get my own cash a go physically put it in the bank the old fashioned way!
Answer: Be careful they just did this to me. I was expecting a deposit into my xe account. I got text message to confirm deposit, then numerous emails and calls to make deals, then they tell me once I accepted, that the funds weren't mine, and that they accidentally deposited someone else's funds into my account. I sent the converted equivalent back to them so now the other customer has all of their money back, but they want the difference in conversion to make their own greedy profit, and have threatened debt collection agency onto me.
Answer: After reading all the horrible reviews it looks like they are a SCAM! You should go to the FBI and other authorities they need to be investigated for the SCAM they are. You should go to the media to try and get your money back. So sorry for your situation!
