This used to be a good currency transfer company. However, they moved offshore to Lithuania and the service has seriously deteriorated. Don't ever request a draft - I've waited over a month for them to reach me in the US. Looking for a new option now.

Was fine for first transfer...

The second transfer was a nightmare and the third transfer they shut down my account. I believe they shut down my account because I complained about my second transfer.

This is the reason they gave me for shutting down my account...

Unfortunately, we're unable to continue to offer you our international payments service and have closed your account. We will not be able to provide any further information as to the reason why.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
In accordance with our anti-money laundering and data protection obligations, we're required to retain your information on our secure system for 5 years. These details will not be used in any way.

Really?!? First payment was $45, as well as the second payment. Money laundering $45 at a time? Time to get real. Don't waste your time with xe.com.

This service is good only when everything is going smoothly. As soon as you hit a problem (e.g. Goods not being delivered, contract not being honoured!) do not rely on XE to recoup your money if you made an international payment and you ask for a refund more than 10 days after your payment was made. If the international payment is made by credit / debit card or through a normal bank transfer, it would not be a problem to recall the payment. But not with XE. The staff is unsympathetic and some of them quite rude and you could be in a situation where you could never get your money back, just due to them. They are blaming all on Bank of America (which apparently is behind the XE transfers) however XE are responsible for the transfer and they should respect the financial regulations and try to help.

Useless

I made a couple of transfers over the years with this lot, then last week was making another, but kept getting bounced out of the site. So I called to enquire and lodged an email, and their reply:

Hello Xxxxxx,
Hope you are well.
Unfortunately we cannot provide you services moving forward due to internal compliance reasons.
Request you to check for alternate service provider.

No explanation, nothing. If Im such a crook why did you perform the prior transfers between the exact same accounts?

Totally useless bunch.

XE shows you and exchange rate thats attactive but simply takes your funds without sending the transfer.
Did eight transfers, problems with three of them No refund on the lat

Fantastic company, I should have joined them years ago, just didn't know enough about them... I have been dealing with the banks and they probably overcharge for everything including my mortgage, checking, exchange currency rates... I'll give these guys a 11 star rating. Complete Disaster. Still Missing AU$27k
August 1, 2023

What should have been a simple 1-3 working day international funds transfer has turned into a 16 day case of the missing AU$27k. XE tells me the transfer is being screened by the Recipients bank but is withholding crucial contact details and the Recipients bank says it has not received the funds. Customer service staff keeping "reaching out" to their team members but noone is coming to the rescue. I regret not using my Bank for this transfer and will never use them again. I highly advise AGAINST using XE.com for international transfer. The amount of time I have wasted trying to solve this issue continues to mount.

XE Revisited

"Funny" how you can read actual and real reviews here, thank you Sitejabber!, I left a bad review for Xe on Trustp**** but it was removed because they "were contacted by Xe" and demanded documents to sustain my claim! Anyway, as commented by others, service is awful, it took several weeks to transfer my money due to their "validation" process even though I provided every piece of information they required right away, of course my money didn't make it on time and while I waited I feared my money was lost due to the uselessness of CS. The reason I'm leaving a new review is that my account was just closed (not that I planned to use them again) but it was another awful experience, only received an email stating that they "couldn't provide any further information as to why", What the...? Anyway, it's not worth to go through all the hassle to save a few dollars on the exchange rate, and lately that's not even the case. Avoid this company at all costs.

Their app doesn't work. They stopped my account for sending 25 dollars to Kenya. They are stupid. Please don't use them. Those are a few others that are good. Which policeing organization monitors these companies. Money laundering. 25 dollars? Just ridiculous. They should be shut down. Not honest people. Aaron C

Did two transfers sending INR for holiday costs. The correct amount was debited from my account but the recipients received the amount with fees taken off down the line, and both are now wanting me to make up the difference. Both said their Banks do not charge fees on receipt of money transfers. XE failed to provide me with any helpful information as to where the fees were generated and for what. I would have done better transferring from my bank. Been advised to consider Transferwise, made one transfer with them and the correct amount was credited to the recipient's account at a better exchange rate that XE's. Avoid XE for money transfers. They are more expensive then your bank.

I have used their service 3 times in the last 3 years. First two, they were OK, although it ended up costing more than the transactions through my bank. The last one was a complete disaster. 4% of the fund went missing between the transaction. I had to spend countless hours sending emails, calling banks and XE, they launched an investigation over the missing fund. After 2 months of communication, they finally admitted the fund was indeed missing and told me they would resend the balance. One month later, the recipient sill has not received the balance and now I have to be dealing with the government regulatory agencies to get things straight.

The worst company existed in money transfer ever. Withheld money for two weeks under label of security checks for anti money laundering as if Money laundering happen on an open and monitored platforms and for amounts under 1000 usd! Avoid and use any other service regardless of rate, don't be tempted as the number of emails and calls are not worth the few dollars saving

A Very Bad Experience
October 23, 2023

I sent about 4 or 5 international xfers using debit card as it seemed the fastest method. Then when I sent about $xxx.xx the 5th time to help pay for overseas medical expenses, I notice that I received an email that my account was closed with absolutely no reason given on the same day as the transfer. That any pending funds in my account would be refunded within about 7 days. When I logged into my account, a popup stated "Unable to send money". The CSR in their chat support stated, my account is not closed and my issue will be elevated. Which source is more credible: An unrecorded chat response from an unknown CSR or an official email from Xe? Both sources contradicted each other.
Later in the day, when I attempted to login to the XE portal, it logged me right out as if my account had been restricted for logins. Now I don't even have access to the site nor any of my transactions. Hopefully I will get my refund within the stated period, but I am not too confident when I read other reviews. Caveat Emptor! Stay tuned, this is not over yet as my refund has not be completed. Going back to Wise. BTW, my bank debit transaction describes this transaction as "clothing", which I did not enter.

I have used this company twice and had issues on both occasions as the transfer didn't go through. I gave them one more chance after a break of about six months to discover that they had closed my account. O contacted them and the account was reopened on Monday. I tried to make a transfer on Wednesday and found that the account had been closed again! When I contacted them they could give me no reason as to why. These people are very difficult to deal with, I will not be using them again!

Data collection by XE

XE collects data and close the account. They dont even provide reason. Not sure why they put up shop of transfer looks like they collect data and sell it to marketing companies. Downside is I authenticated with my bank account etc and good part is when I was trying to transfer app didnt support saying call CS. I wouldnt recommend this to any one going forward and discourage people from transacting with these fraudulent businesses. Beware!

Look at ALL the negative reviews on here, and believe them. There ARE issues. I had money missing out of my account. If there are problems, customer service is VERY slow to respon, if at all. Just be aware - if you have any kind of problem, you are most likely on your own:-< Also, they can, do, and will sell your information. *We experienced a data breach because of these careless idiots!

It is a Scam.

They collect your ID, SSN and other details and will not let you open an account to transfer money. Why collect all the details when they refuse to give a reason or talk to you regarding it. Their message is "Unfortunately, we're unable to continue to offer you our international payments service and have closed your account. We will not be able to provide any further information as to the reason why."
I have been using various transfer apps and services for 15 years, never had this experience. I wonder what criminal activity they will do with my data now.

They seemed to have self destructed overnight. Just read some of the recent negative reviews. Without ranting, I experienced many of the same problems. The worst was 'Team Leader' Jonathan McGuire passing himself off as the 'highest in management' I could speak with. Condescending, weeks passing while they held my money, refusing to return it. Called up Knightsbridge Exchange. They had my transaction completed in 2 days, no problems.

Given their rates were slightly better than the bank i thought ok get my us cash here. Lot of work to get set up. You have to be perfectly clear what their terms mean. After many calls to my bank and xe trade; they have a terrible phone system, calls hard to hear. It took them no time to transfer the money out of my bank. After two weeks and many hours spent on the phone, they still were not able to deposit the us $ in my account. To be fair i was never able to determine if the problem was them or my bank. I think xe trade. I then asked for the return of my canadian dollars. A day later all the money was returned. They appear reputable but the fact they do not appear to be located in canada, if the money goes missing you have no recourse.

Signed up last week after a friend recommended, open the account, entered all my personal info and bank details only to get an email hours later saying my transfer was cancelled and my account closed, i thought nothing of it until yesterday when checking my online statement to find $3400 had been taken from my account along with an email saying they "accidently" took out the money even though the transfer was cancelled and i would have to contact my bank, bank said theres nothing they can do on their end so now im pretty much stuck waiting on XE reversing the money which i needed to have been recieved days ago, do not do business with them, completely useless company.
