I feel bamboozled
October 11, 2019

As a small business owner trying to get on my feet, I feel bamboozled by WeddingWire. When they called me, shortly after setting up my profile, they lead me to believe that I would be receiving all of these wonderful leads and that people increase their bookings by 30% by paying for a subscription. The leads are either fake, scammers, or bargain shoppers who don't reply once a quote is sent. I am so disappointed in this company. It is a complete waste of money and I am counting down the days until I can cancel my subscription.

For anyone looking to buy a subscription, don't! Just don't! Save your money and focus on networking. I have yet to book a wedding from this website, but have booked plenty of weddings and events through networking.

WW's only solution from customer service managers are "Sorry, I wish I could make it better" but I dont make the rules! Then that's poor customer service for vendors trusting your business to receiving leads to better our business.

I spent a total over 2k soon come September of this year. 1 year and only booked 1 wedding. Received about in total to date 17 leads 6 were scams. One fake client asked me for my bank account to send a deposit, huh. For what we pay WW should have a much professional filter. Another sent me. A message for a wedding dated March 3rd 2019 on July 20th, 2019. I had to make the scammer aware of a past date, how did that even get through WW? The date has past 4 months ago!

If anything I took a huge loss this year but you live and learn and will NEVER PAY OR REFER this site to any business colleagues, ever!

WW customer service PLEASE do not contact me unless you will close my account immediately. Otherwise please acknowledge that I am dissatisfied and that you've scammed me out of my money welll for your cheap and unprofessional service!

Counting the remaining months down towards kicking you to the curb!

I am a small business owner who made the terrible decision to pay WeddingWire to be a "Professional" account holder. In return for my $100+/month fee, I was promised 8-10 leads per month.

Month one - 6 leads
Month two - 3 leads
Month three - 3 leads

The only two of these total of 12 leads I received in 3 months that responded to me were looking for services that my business clearly does not provide. I honestly believe the other 10 leads were fake.

When I emailed requesting assistance with garnering leads and finding value in the money that I'm paying them, NO ONE RESPONDED TO ME. When I emailed again a month later, the reply I received explained that my previous email must have been "lost in the shuffle" from when they recently partnered with TheKnot. I was then promised that this employee was sending an urgent ticket to the account strategist team who would be in touch with me in the next day or two to help me with my account.

Two more weeks went by, and I heard nothing from anyone on their staff.

I finally emailed again and asked if they could please just cancel my account. They refused over and over again to do so, claiming that I have "a 12 month contract" from which they refuse to release my business. Their solution to my problem is to now try to "switch me over" to their other platform on theknot, instead.

I don't understand why anyone would want to retain clients that are so obviously unhappy with their services, but I suppose that scamming small business owners for one year is the only way that they make money. I cannot imagine any other small businesses stay with them for longer than their contract term.

I'm incredibly disheartened, and feel like I've been conned out of over $1300, but what am I to do?

I implore you or anyone you know to steer clear of signing any agreements with WeddingWire, as they are certain to take your money and not deliver on their end of the deal.

If I had it all to do over again, I would have avoided them altogether. I guess that's the thing about starting a business on your own for the first time... you learn many lessons the hard way. Hopefully, if this is your first time, my review will help to better inform your decision about working with them.

Best of luck!

Fake leads / BEWARE
August 2, 2019

They send fake leads. Each response from lead uses the same wording and email set up, and or hardly no leads respond to your emails. For vendors waste of money and time, do not use WeddingWire for your marketing. They tell you its an issue with your storefront to cover up the lies of return on investment. Cancelation is a joke it's not possible and you wind up having to wait until your 1 year contract is over to cancel and if you don't it just renews and there you go again, loosing your years worth of money with fake leads and no work.

Terrible - DONT USE
July 31, 2019

Absolutely terrible website. The concept is great bu the execution it terrible. The site is so bad and so many functions don't work. You invest so much time and energy to try to set it up only to be let down time and time again. Save yourself a lot of trouble and simply use another site or method for you wedding.

Fake leads / Beware
July 30, 2019

I was given fake leads to shoot as a wedding photographer. After a little research, the engaged couple who needed photography was already married with children. I have been given up to 20 leads with no response in return. Waste of money. I talked to about 30 different wedding photographers who said they did not get one photo job over a year with weddingwire.com.

You will put up with fake leads, scammers, phishing attempts. You cannot cancel your premium service with them unless you want to break the contract. The only way to get them to stop charging your card is to cancel it and order a new one. I got zero business and put up with a bunch fake inquiries. I'm almost certain that they pay people to give you fake leads and collect your information, to make it appear like you are getting something out of their service. And to top it off, they pay someone to come to this site and give canned responses to their LOW ratings they receive from vendors. I agree with the other ONE STAR reviews!

The sales team team made many promises that the execution team doesn't even come close to fulfilling. After only 48 hours as a Featured Vendor they had changed half my pictures and re-wrote my entire description. When I called to say I did not like it, they said that was "too bad", shut down my account, and then refunded only a portion of my investment. Emails and phone calls for an explanation have gone unanswered.

I have joined WeddingWire since March 2019 as a makeup artist vender and I didn't get any booking yet, clients are just collecting informations without booking. As how they describe it before you register they make everything easy and look like you are going to make tons of money but it's the opposite you just pay for nothing is just wasting of money not gaining money. I tried to cancel my contract with them they didn't let me. They told me you cannot cancel it and now I'm just paying for nothing so please please please if you see this page never sign up with them and don't waste your money, I'm paying $2160. 00 for a year contract for nothing. If you advertise on Facebook or Instagram you will get more clients then this garbage website trust me. They don't even deserve 1 star.

This company is very disorganized and unscrupulous. My fiancee and I are wedding videographers and we were so excited to become a part of Wedding Wire but we've dealt with unethical business tactics and harassment from them. The customer service is disorganized, we got conflicting information from various reps about promised leads, once we signed up we never received a confirmation or a contract, their billing system could not accept our 'in good standing' CC's and blamed the issues on the bank. We'd decided to cancel our membership but were met with hostility and harassment from customer service. I think Wedding Wire could end up being a good company under different management but our experience with them has been atrocious since the first call when we signed up for the pro membership. It's been an absolute nightmare for myself and my fiancee. We're just trying to get our business started and film weddings and we've ended up wasting our time dealing with Wedding Wire and their poor business practices. I'd stay away if you're a vendor looking to increase their business. It's a great resource for brides & grooms but for vendors... it's awful.

Not worth a penny.
May 23, 2019

I was on the phone with Wedding Wire today, of course they were trying to convince me to do a premium listing. I mentioned marketing a venue in Rhinelander, WI. He said that Rhinelander was part of the Green Bay market and that if someone searched for a venue in Rhinelander that they would see ALL of the venues in the Green Bay market. Here is how that convo went:

Me: So you are saying that if someone types in "Venue" is the service box and "Rhinelander" in the location box you are going to direct them to Green Bay venues?

Him: Yes, because that's the market they are in.

Me: But they typed Rhinelander in for the location. So if they are clearly searching for the venues available in Rhinelander why couldn't they see just the venues in Rhinelander?

Him: Well they can if they go through a couple more filter options.

Me: It is 2.5-3 hours between Rhinelander and Green Bay, isn't the fact that they specified the town they were looking for enough? They aren't likely to want to see Green Bay venues first. They want to see what they searched for.

Him: That's the way our system is set up, so they can see as many listings as possible.

Me: But that isn't fair to the businesses paying you for a premium listing, they are thinking, especially venues- that when someone specifies Rhinelander that it will only be Rhinelander and close proximity venues appearing. And it's not really fair to the people using your site that you disregard their stated search parameters and flood them with irrelevant listings.

Him:...

Me: We are done here, have a good day.

Before getting involved in any of these listing type sites beyond the free level- make sure you understand what service you are actually getting.

I came across to weddingwire thanks to other vendors that work on the wedding industry. I have listings in Gigmasters and TheKnot and I have very good successful listings there.
I got into the WeddingWire free listing for a while. I got a booking with it. After that I started getting stupid calls and e-mails from customer service to upgrade my listing.
To make a long story short, WeddingWire have been the biggest customer service disappointment that I ever have. The customer service representative locked me into a photo booth listing and I thought that it was a DJ listing. My services cover both activities but I was interested on the DJ listing only. Attempted to fix that but after a very aggressive customer service representative I agree on putting the add for Photo booth only.
After 5 month I didn't get the success that I was looking for. I decided to contact customer service in an attempt to change the listing to DJ.
To my surprise I got a bit NO. If you are on an specific listing you can't change.
Long story short: I appear on the first page, I'm not getting any hits and they are unable to reconsider changing my listing. I'm not asking for rocket science. I'm just asking them for a change. The people of TheKnot are willing to help, Gigmasters are very good at customer service. Weddingwire? No,. They are not. Sorry but I prefer to continue with TheKnot and Gigmasters! Good luck to you WeddinWire!

I'm a vendor and I use WeddingWire.ca to promote my business. I've gotten a lot of business through their website and appreciate how easy it is to use and how nice it looks. I did recently have an issue that I needed help addressing. I was able to talk to an actual person rather than just receiving an automated response. Taslima I helped me and she was great at assisting me with my issue, explaining everything and getting back to me promptly (something that I find is so rare in customer service with large organizations now a days). The only criticism I have is that I found the explanation of my issue could have been made clearer before the fact with a better FAQ page being available and then I wouldn't have had a problem in the first place, however, things everything was resolved in the end thanks to Taslima.

Wedding wire has been contacting me to be a vendor for almost a year and I kept declining, They follow up with a lot of emails, and calls, I should have known better, i do not know what came over me to sign up with them eventually. I should have listened to the reviews. Please listen to the reviews and do not sign up!. They lie to you and say that you are going to get alot of business, even go as far as manipulating you that you will make this amount of profit on their website, and you will be able to pay your yearly total fee. I know no place is guaranteed business, but wedding wire has been the worst place I have advertised, 0 business, price shoppers, fake leads, scammers, and mostly couples who are on a budget. Please DO NOT SIGN UP, they do not care at all if you get leads or not. 7 months on there, i have not booked 1 wedding, a complete rip off

After spending hours of putting my wedding website together, I was unable to send RSVP invitations to my guests, due to a "technical issue which website technicians were trying to solve". That was the only response given to me by Customer Service without providing any foreseen timeline for problem solution. After a whole week of waiting and no tangible solution or satisfying response, I used another website and did the work all over again and was finally able to send out wedding invitations before it's too late!

It just gets worse!
April 19, 2019
Updated review

Update to my previous review:

Five months after my wedding and after I left a negative review on WeddingWire's site and specifically mentioned Phraseology as never returning a phone call or an email, WeddingWire emailed me to tell me that my review is temporarily hidden because Phraseology decided that they suddenly can read emails and decided to dispute the review.
WeddingWire will find any loophole to avoid allowing negative reviews on their site. The funny thing about this is that Phraseology is NO LONGER LISTED AS VENDORS on their site. How can a company who isn't on the site any longer file a dispute. Hmmmmm.

No!

Previous review

I only needed an officiant, no venue, photographer or any of that, just the minister. The one officiant that had a decent price, (Phraseology,) never returned emails or phone calls. The spam that I was getting in my email from WeddinWire was really pissing me off. I got an officiant on my own for so much cheaper than the $350 that others on that site were charging. I also noticed that WeddingWire do not post negative reviews on their site, so that in itself, is shady. Nope, nope and another nope.
