WeddingWire has a rating of 2.1 stars from 819 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with WeddingWire most frequently mention year contract, small business and free listing. WeddingWire ranks 15th among Wedding Planning sites.
The guest list is a really nice feature, but it's not seamless and if you make a mistake it's a pain in the butt to fix.
1 you have to type every address out multiple times. They don't give you a way to easily copy addresses to other contacts.
2 After exporting the guest list, editing it, then importing it back, an entirely new group of people is created. Basically, you will have duplicate contacts with all the links, groups and lists GONE. They need to be smarter. Any changes should be recognized and automatically updated once your list is imported back to the website. What a waste of time.
3 There should be a +1 button to add the +1 guest, rather than typing it all in. That +1 guest should also stay with it's linked contact.
WeddingWire.com and their subsidiaries promise success and once the Vendo is in place... the promises are null and void! Crap Leads, Fraudulent Leads, NO LEADS! Locked in a contract with nothing to show for it and WeddingWire takes all the money from the Vendor! BEWARE!
In over 5 months of paying for the most expensive "FEATURED" listing in the Los Angeles market I have only received SPAM REQUESTS!
I have received no compassion or assistance in any way from TheKnot.com / WeddingWire.com / WeddingPro.com
It does not make sense that in a major metropolitan city such as Los Angeles with the claims they are making of 13 million monthly visitors that I would not receive even 1 legitimate lead?
They're lying, it's a scam and if you start to search google you will find the same exact scenario as I have mentioned.
I hope an attorney can go after them for fraud, misrepresentation, false and misleading claims, etc.
Wonderful experience- would highly recommend! They made my wedding planning so much easier and had helpful support staff.
Wedding Wire/The Knot's policy to be "inclusive" and non-discriminatory, are in fact practicing discrimination against businesses that choose not to offer certain services. While I support their "right" to exercise who they choose to do business with, I find it ironic that in their effort be be "inclusive" they do not even realize that their policies are contradictory to being" inclusive", because the are being "exclusive" by refusing to do business with those that are simply practicing the same rights they are exercising. If they were truly "all inclusive", they would not be refusing to do business with companies that are simply exercising the rights that they freely choose to exercise themselves. And on another note, I have had paid accounts with Wedding Wire in the past and have paid $450 a month to have my business on their site. Not worth it as I had very little "true leads" through them. I have heard many reports about their "fake leads" lately and can't verify this to be true for myself but all I know for sure is for the money they charge, you can do far better creating your own facebook ads. I know because I've seen the results. This service is a rip off in my opinion and obviously they are not consistent or ethical in their business practices.
Super easy and fun to use and if you need help you'll find a quick response from CS. Would highly recommend using this platform over others.
This company promotes only for pay vendors. The free listings are never shown. The company also refused to delete my profile when I asked. Ask local churches for names of musicians. They have a list.
I'm a business owner that's been working with WeddingWire for almost a year now. I've received 21 leads total in that time with not a single one turning into a sale/booking. I've called into WeddingWire repeatedly to improve my storefront, I respond quickly to leads and even got several reviews from couples we helped that didn't come from WeddingWire. After all this, I called in to cancel my account and got nothing but the pleasant information that my account could be canceled if my company went out of business. OUT OF BUSINESS! At this point, my company may go out of business due to the expense of WeddingWire. I expressed that and received not an ounce sympathy or exception. I'm disappointed to say the least and would not recommend this service to anyone else in the industry.
I have been concentrating on building my wedding officiant business for about four years and have had my listing in several places. It's time to pare back and keep the services that are working for me. I will be keeping WeddingWire. I have had a lot of contacts from potential couples and sure not all of them book with me, but I feel I have a reputable company promoting me that couples trust and it is working well.
I've been officiating for about 15 years and I remain on the lookout for what's new and where the couples are searching, and Wedding Wire works for me.
We are so disappointed with this service. All the "leads" (if you can call it that) have been scams. It's been a year of scams and not one legitimate inquiry outside of one that was not even a wedding. Our account representative did nothing to help, but quick to take money out of the account every month. Needless to say, I would never do any business with WeddingWire and definitely would not recommend to anyone.
We are a really good working band, not problems getting gigs, so I know it's not us or our music. Instead we are bombarded with scams on this site. I received a total of 5 fake deposit checks which my bank recognized right away. I brought this to the attention of our account representative, but it was all for nothing. NOTHING HAPPENED, no follow-up, no regard for the situation.
This is the worse experience with a site like this I've ever had. $900 for a website that all leads are scams is a scam in itself. I will be disputing my last charges. If you're going to take my money for nothing, at least be nice about it and don't ignore your "customers". This is crazy. Shame on you WeddingWire.
We booked a hotel through them using their group rate set up through the bride and got charged a $70 per night tax and service recovery fee charge. This is 3 times the amount of taxes charged if I were to just go to the hotel and book direct. Yes we got a group rate on the room but this fee was ridiculous. Because we prepaid, we have no recourse and the person I chatted with was not willing to explain nor take a look to see if it was a bug in their site tax calculations. Don't bother using this service and book direct!
Hi Jill, we are so sorry to hear about your experience with our Hotel Block service! We sent you a direct message with some information about how this service is offered and next steps to help address your concerns. First of all, all inquiries we get are fake, scammers, or no response back. The girl made the opportunity with marketing with them seem so amazing. Like we would get so much business. This may be good for some businesses like photographers that make $600+ Plus a client. Not for a service where our services range around $30. Defiantly not worth it! She even said just "cancel your card" If it doesn't work out for you. Our card was compromised so never cared to update it with them since their business is bogus. Then they end up getting your new card somehow and bill you for 3 months unexpected even though you weren't able to access or haven't used your account because you are sick of responding to these fake messages or calling numbers from inquires that are not REAL! They just steal money from small businesses! NOT WORTH the Money there are plenty of other marketing you can do free and local! Should have done some research first then came across this searching to see if anyone else has had the same horrible experience. I Hope the girl that told us all this information loses her job! If they resolve the issues will be happy to update their customer service. And give them an extra star. This review is based on information we received from the girl that signed us up! If they happen to resolve it will up date my review based on customer service.
We had a potential bride try and force us to change our policies by leaving us false reviews. The Knot knowing this allowed the review to remain despite proving portion of the review were factually inaccurate. The only person at The Knot in charge of reviews is Lindsay. She has no check and balance and there is no escalation process. Don't bother becoming a paid customer, they don't care about you.
I was very clear to the representative about my prior experience or failures to get bookings with gigmasters and gigsalad---that I was looking for something better or that would generate bookings. I explained that although I received several leads weekly from gigmasters/gigsalad, it appears people were looking for "cheap" bands & I could not afford that. She assured me that they have over 950 hits per month and that they do help clients understand the logistics and cost for music or bands. Well, I may have received about 10 leads to 15 leads with no bookings, even with follow-up. It's my fault for falling for this inflated sales pitch, as I'm usually combing through contracts very well and I thought I did this time. I knew that I could cancel in six months, but missed the part where I had to cancel within 30 days. It appears that this type of language is entrapment and that the contract is long and exhausting for a reason. Besides, it takes more than 30 days to know if a service like this will work for you. Gigmasters and gigsalad give you either 60 or 90 days and that information is not hidden in small print but is clearly stated on their website. I have since talked to a couple of other local musicians/bands who feel the same. I have pleaded with wedding wire to no avail. I tried to explain that we independent artists are on a very tight budget and can't afford to pay to just have our names listed because we can get this on social media and many other sites for free. As a matter of fact, I do get bookings via my website, which is about $11 per month and social media. Those sites have been productive for me, but my point is that it is free or cost very little. If a company is so sure their service is superior, then offer a free profile and make a percentage of all bookings. If you think that is unreasonable and not profitable or not in your best interest, well, that's my point. You don't want something or a service that is not good to you and we want nothing that is not good for us. In addition, it also speaks volumes in terms of a company's confidence that you can actually deliver. If a business or a contract can't be a win/win situation, then it should not be.
They orally tell you the terms of the relationship and get you to sign up. They then send a 6 page contract which entails several terms that were NEVER discussed during the phone call. Getting someone to address my concerns have been a nightmare. The customer service is terrible. DO NOT SIGN UP. I could pay a advertiser the expensive amount I paid them to personally draw business to my website. Before you consider this option, consider a different option.
I wish I read these reviews before placing my credit card and signing on the virtual line. They overpromise and mislead. Very unprofessional and useless company to work with.
Will not recommend it to anyone.
THIS SITE IS A FRAUD!
We purchased a 1 year featured subscription as a new company, being assured of the "large traffic volume" we would receive for being listed as a venue. We responded to 120 leads without a single booking. Meanwhile, our free listing on google has generated 15 weddings in our first year. Wedding Wire doesn't care a hoot about it's actual customers. We are funding their own data to be able to say how many people visit their site. I received coaching for how to best write responses and follow up with clients on their platform, but after days of my time responding to leads with their coaching I still have not had anyone respond. I only recently learned a few things about how the website actually works:
1. You can fill out your venue's availability but the couples and families don't actually get filtered out even if you're unavailable so everyone wastes their time managing that scheduling disappointment.
2. They are not interested in changing our region to make it more viable for a service to match a potential customer (eg: We are in the mountains of Colorado 2.5 hours from Denver and yet they insist on listing all Colorado vendors as being in the Denver Area)
3. When someone clicks on the message button to contact a vendor, the option to message 6-8 similar vendors the exact same message comes up.
4. Other sites offer analytics to better understand your market, make changes based on your listings performance, and ask the potential clients to commit to certain criteria in a vendor (like budget) before being matched up with potential vendors. Wedding wire offers NOTHING like this.
I was recently called to talk about renewing my subscription. Though I had tried to contact them about my concerns, I was not able to get a hold of anyone in the past, but when it was time for them to get more of my money, they were more than available. It astounds me, the rudeness of this company that I would spend $2,500 in online marketing dollars and get absolutely NO service in return that I would then be asked to renew. This company seems to be fine with providing no satisfaction and getting a lot of small business's money in return.
WW has 4 tiers, 1st Tier is the "super expensive', 2nd Tier is "expensive", 3rd Tier is "economy" and 4th tier is free. I was paying to be in the 2nd tier under banquet halls. I was on the first page right after the 1st Tier listings - perfect! The problem was that after someone sent me an inquiry, WW would recommend 6 other venues that WW thought the bride would like. WOW - I paid for the expensive listing (to get the bride's attention) only for the bride to be redirected to some other advertiser. Explains why I did not receive a commensurate amount of bookings relative to the price I was paying for advertising. I am no longer advertising with WW; and my listing with their new partner, theKnot, will be expiring in early November and I will not be renewing with them. I just got off the phone with the WeddingPro advisor to discuss all this and she stated WW and theKnot do NOT have a fiduciary responsibility to their advertisers - their responsibility is to the bride. She stated it is what Jeff Bezos and Amazon do - it's all about the customer. So WW and theKnot are happy to take your money, but could care less about the success of the advertisers that pay their salaries.
Wedding Wire has been the most wonderful app! I love it and I tell all of my fellow brides to use it! It makes planning so easy and virtually stress-free! I'd be lost without it! Not only has it been amazing for the planning using the checklist & budget, finding and hiring vendors, interactive forum with fellow brides, but also for creating your personal wedding website. You can easily customize what information to put on your wedding website by adding or removing pages, you can also create your own domain name & add your wedding registry link(s) to one or multiple retail registry links. I'm sure other wedding planning apps/wedding websites are great too, but I am loyal to wedding wire. (I cross reference guidelines/timelines on Pinterest from time to time to make sure I'm not skipping any important steps along the way, but WW pretty much has everything covered!) I am just so grateful to have such an amazing resource that's easy and fun to use! What a time to be alive! LOL
WeddingWire is a scam. They sell you a pipe dream of you will get tons of customers but all you get is a bunch of bargain shoppers that never book you. I made the mistake of paying for a full year subscription which was a big mistake.
