Entertainers should be refunded annual membership for COVID months. Entertaining is not allowed in California.
Wedding Wire refused refunding membership. This could be a potential class action lawsuit.

Pissed and Jobless
August 20, 2020

I signed up in December before Covid hit and took a chance with Wedding Wire and the Knot by paying $165.00 a month. I recieved leads but they almost never reply back when I send info. This has been the most irritating situation to me and to add another disappointment I haven't booked not 1 Client yet since being a client to this company. With me losing my job due to Covid and knowing their cancelation policy this is really putting me in the whole financially while trying to take care of my family with the little I got. I'm a Retired Veteran and I feel like I've been taken advantage of, so I'm going to try to see if a Lawyer can help me with recouping my funds back.

Alice Marie Violinist
August 18, 2020

I would definitely recommend Alice Merie for a wedding ceremony. She was very professional, and an awesome performer. She was very punctual and very easy to get along with. We were so lucky to find her on such short notice.

I recently wrote a not-so-flattering review of a company called "Wedding Angel" in Bangor, Maine. The wedding planner (Ali) refused to refund a deposit for a Maine wedding that had to be canceled due to COVID 19 restrictions, and could not be rescheduled. Minutes after I posted my review it was pulled down citing "vendor dispute." WeddingWire never followed up with me on the dispute, despite numerous calls to the company over the last few months. I can only conclude that it's ALL ABOUT THE VENDOR and that reviews on WeddingWire are a ruse and not to be trusted. I wondered why Ali had so many 5 star reviews- now I know!!

I advertised with The Knot and Wedding Wire (they have merged and are now one company with two sites) for 3+ years and paid them over $6,000 in ads. My contract term with the knot was for 12 months. I recently received a call stating that I was past due on payment with them. That sparked a concern for me as I had paid the full 12 months for the contract term that ended in April 2020 and it is now July 2020 when I got this call. So I pulled up my bank statement and saw that even though our contract term was over in April they had so called "auto renewed my contract" without my approval or signing of a new contract. They auto deducted money from my bank account for May and June! When I emailed and called to get a refund for the two months of overcharge they said unfortunately there is nothing we can do since you did not call us and tell us you didn't want an auto renew ad listing! That is highway robbery and extreme shady slyness. Also in the last 12 months I have only booked ONE client from their leads. The amount of the wedding I am photographing does not even cover the 12 month cost of the advertising. Honestly the whole thing is a total rip off!

I used them for 3 years. 1st year i got a couple of reviews (not many). I paid about 90 cad a month. Then there prices DOUBLE $$$
Seemed like FAKE LEADS. ALWAYS the same questions, juts with different names!
LESS leads then when i complained or say i want to cancel i got a couple of new leads. What a coincidence!
Then they force you to get the best package at 500-600$ a month
It juts spam honestly. They dont really help you. If just a company trying to make money
Do you booing by facebook, instagram, google ads. EVEN kijji you get better HITS! That is SAD
If i can save vendors by reading this. I am truly happy

As a professional wedding photographer I've had to put up with a lot of WeddingWire-generated spam for a lot of years. I have never gotten a paying customer from them ever. What I have had to deal with is a lot of competitors posing as interested parties trying to suss out my pricing and deal structures. And then the constant fake inquiry to try and get me to update my info in the system. When I decided to take down my wedding website and take a step back from shooting for a while, I reached out to them and politely asked them to take down my info. In response they sent me a "you agreed to all our terms just by ever going on our website" answer, a huge "screw you" basically, and then proceeded to quote chapter and verse from their legal terms on why they have the right to publish my personal and/or business information on their website with or without my consent. I did look into getting a paid account with them once, their pricing is ludicrous. They've also tried to strongarm me into paying commissions to them because clients that came to me through my own website had run a search on WW (aka The Knot). These people don't care at all about your business or about your needs. All they care about is using you to generate advertising dollars and to possibly take a chunk or your hard-earned income.

SCAM
June 9, 2020

I signed up with The Knot a year ago and stopped advertising with them when they merged with Wedding Wire. I got ZERO leads and whenever I would call to complain, bam! The next day... fake leads... some from India and none of these "names" had instagrams or Facebook pages. I stopped using their service in September (I had only signed up for The Knot) and I JUST received a phone call... TEN MONTHS later saying I owe them 1300. 00 and Wedding Wire was charging me for an account I never signed up for OR used! The lady on the phone was BEYOND rude and I said. So I haven't used your services since September and you're calling me TEN months later? She claimed their office closed for covid and that was only 10 weeks ago... were talking TEN months. This company is a boiler room scam and they are threatening to ruin my personal AND business credit? I haven't heard from a single sole in TEN months AND I called and wrote multiple emails. I will be taking this to the Better Business Bureau immediately. This is fraud.

Unreliable liers
June 3, 2020

In 2008 a bad review was submitted to the internet by these idiots on Party Elite. We contacted them and informed them we did no such wedding... or ANY wedding for that matter, on that date. They informed us their source is a good one, (even though it was probably another cut through DJ), and they would not allow even a rebuttal letter. We demanded proof, such as the place where it supposedly happened, or a contract from us from the so called bride. We never heard from them again, despite countless attempts to resolve this. It's our ONLY bad review on line, but it probably costs us business in this highly competitive business.

No help offered to those wedding vendors hit hard by the financial situation that we are all dealing with right now. They only will agree to cancel marketing contracts if your is business completely out of business. Therefore they dont care if you are a business trying to get thru this hard time. Will not postpone payments, will not cancel contracts or even postpone to restart them even by ONE MONTH! Will never advertise with them every again. They will have lost someone who would have paid the the costs for years if they would have helped during the time we need them the most. No flexibility at all with them! They also send you fake Robo leads that lead to absolutely NOTHING! Customer service is horrible... expect to be dumped into voice mails.

I have been trying to cancel my account for months, and they have been giving me the run around. I have received no work and no viable leads. I need to cancel my account, and I am having to try to force them to do this. I don't understand how photographers and professionals can live with themselves while scamming hardworking, self employed photographers. Shame on them!

We joined Wedding Wire on 3/6/20 we are a brand new venue and had not opened for business yet. 2 weeks later Covid-19 happened and we are not allowed to open. I called our account rep. * to cancel and she tells me we are not allowed too (this turn out to be a lie you can cancel within the first 30 days but she never informed me) but she will speak to her director and later the VP to see what she can do. This back and forth continues for a few weeks with me asking how our cancellation is coming and her saying she is working on it and I just need to wait. As I keep calling she stops answering my calls so I call the main office and get directed to * she tells me * is no longer in charge of my account because it is passed 30 days. I recount story she says she will direct me to cancellation and billing and they will call me back but after a day of waiting for them to call me back I call them (because during this time I am charged fees even though * told me I would not be charged). I get a hold of * in Cancellation where he tells me he cannot cancel my account because you are only allowed to cancel within the first 30 days and now that 30 days have passed he needed special permissions to cancel. I am then directed to * who then tells me I can cancel but probably won't be refunded but will direct me to her director *. * then emails me and says I can neither cancel or get a refund.

They only give you the contract AFTER you have paid them so you cannot review the contract before you pay and they have all of your payment information.

This company basically has a policy that you can cancel with the first 30 days but do not tell their customers this policy and when you try to cancel within that time they will give you the run around until that window closes. There is a record that I had contacted them prior to the 30 days. I was never told that I had a 30 day limit to cancel (but regardless I did make the request prior to the 30 days).

Worst Place Ever
April 5, 2020

I made my account thinking I could get advice from other brides while planning out my big day. Instead I deleted the account 4 hours later because post-brides love ganging up those who are yet to be married. Vedor or bride alike, don't use this site. You're better off hiring a planner or doing it without online help.

After spending over 4 years advertising with Wedding Wire and always having a different account representative that would always provide misleading information and lies. Always making excuses and never actually providing any kind of return on my many years of investment. After my advertising was not renewed they placed me on the last page of the search after 4 years of advertising. I receive just as many inquiry's from the free listing than the pro or spotlight listing. Do not waste your time with the worthless company. They will be out of business soon enough.

This is a terrible company to advertise with, it is only a bunch of empty promises and no return on your investment. No matter what you are stuck in a 12-month contract! Please stay away from wedding wire and the knot.

I pay $190 per month to advertise on both WW and The Knot.com and they keep changing and re-writing my business description and making my company sound like something it it NOT. They do it without telling you. It's bull because they THEY are selling you with a bogus description. It's really a crappy thing to do to your bread and butter. When I have a question and email - sometimes they answer sometimes the do not but it always takes weeks to hear from them. Probably not enough employees to keep up with volume. Basically I am grossly disappointed in their service, customer service and quality of their leads. I will not renew with them when this contract expires. NOT WORTH IT.

This is a terrible company.

They sold us on a package that brought us NO value and then when the Coronavirus hit and we were nearing bankruptcy we asked to be let out of our contract a few months early to try and keep our employees from being laid off and they refused. $1,200 to a company this big was worth more to them than us trying to salvage our employees from not being able to pay rent.

Absolutely awful company and terrible service. Venture elsewhere if you are a vendor..

I got fantastic and fast customer support from Heather with various questions I had about our wedding website! I could not have been happier! I could tell she really cared that we had the answers we needed. This awesome response reassured me, because I had read about some terrible experiences with support on a different wedding website, which caused us to switch to WeddingWire. Glad we made the choice we did! We will continue to use WeddingWire for all our wedding planning. Thank you, Heather!
