Viagogo Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is significantly marred by a consistent pattern of customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues related to ticket availability, inflated pricing, and inadequate customer service. Customers frequently report receiving invalid tickets, last-minute notifications, and a lack of effective support when seeking refunds or resolution. While some users may have had positive experiences, these are overshadowed by widespread claims of fraud and poor service. The overall sentiment reflects a strong caution against using the platform, highlighting a pressing need for improved transparency and customer support to rebuild trust.

Disgusted
May 12, 2017

So after falling for the whole "2 tickets left" I paid £199 for two Peter Kay tickets only worth £28 each. I couldn't make the concert and viagogo only posted the tickets 2 days beforehand I couldn't sell them. Basically I wasted all that money and the event wasn't even sold out. Sad thing is that these idiots have such a huge Ad position that they are the first site that pops up when you want to find tickets. I only wish I had read the reviews. There is no customer service number and they are a huge CON. Buyers and sellers beware.

Robbed and used
May 12, 2017

Just bought two tickets for Rolling Stones concert in Amsterdam. I was supposed to pay 603 for both tickets! While paying I was shown 603. After I paid it showed me 220 more! Like wtf guys?! Purchase can not be cancelled. They say you can sell the tickets via their $#*!ing page where you end up paying another fees just to sell it. I feel used and robbed! Never ever buy anything from them! I feel disgusted!

Unfortunately I am most unpleased with your service your pricing policy is not transparent and unfair to customers.
The price per ticket in the ref order was £88.88. On top of that you charged me £30.30 of VAT and booking fee (£17.77 of VAT which makes £12.5 for booking fee?) And, as if you did not already charge enough, you charged almost £3 of handling fee.
As per your website VAT is mandated by law in your country and is used to fund public goods and services. Booking fee is what allows us to provide you with our great service. It helps us verify your tickets are valid, ensure safe and secure delivery of your tickets in time for the event, and provide prompt customer service if you ever need it
What is handling fee then? And what delivery you are talking about if the tickets are electronic?
Last but not least great service does not apply to your company you should at least provide a contact phone number for your customers.

Recently made a purchase for a concert in Italy and paid extra for express ups delivery to California. Two days after I get an email, stating the tickets were delivered! But not to my address! I CONTACTED UPS, they were great btw, anyways ups, said someone had delivered the package and picked up 6 minutes after and signed my name wtf! It's clear it's a fraud by Viagogo, they were the only ones who had my info. Call your bank IMMEDIATELY! Because did I forget to mention they charge you more than what they say. DO NOT EVER EVA EVA EVA USE!

Thought I'd surprise my wife by seeing the bodyguard in sydney. Paid over $530 Australian to receive tickets worth only $80 each. They falsely stated only few seats remaining and hurry final shows. I Did not realise this was a scam site until it was too late. DO NOT PURCHASE any tickets from this site. Extremely disappointed that the surprise became a disaster

Just purchased £189 tickets for Barry Manilow. Messages kept appearing on the screen relating to how many minutes i had in order to not lose the tickets, and that there was a queue of others waiting for them. There is a small footnote under the price stating 'subject to vat and fees'... This turned out to be £66 PER TICKET! But by the time it tells you this your transaction is already complete... Is this legal? I messaged them to cancel but they sent me a generic response stating all sales final. I feel robbed and will pursue this to the end! They are thieves - AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Viagogo sell tickets to Super Rugby games, pronouncing that they are the cheapest tickets, when they are in fact over double the price. On top of this the site makes it look as though it is the official ticket seller so the unwary will get stung in the pocket big time. You guys suck!

If you are here reading this review before actually buying anything from this site, do yourself a favour and learn from all of us, who were ripped off. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. It will make you feel like you have to hurry, like there're almost no tickets left, like you really have to buy them despite being pretty expensive. The moment I clicked PAY I realized the prices has doubled and I still feel sick to my stomach, because I am now worried that the tickets are not even valid (I bought tickets for Devendra Banhart in Paris in July in paid 205eur for what should be 70eur for two tickets) and that I will fly over 4 countries only to realize at the entrance of the venue that they won't let me in. I really hope that these people who do this kind of things to innocent people will be appropriately punished one day.

I bought tickets from Viagogo for a Bob Dylan concert recently, found I had paid double the price for the tickets and together with the exorbitant hidden fees feel very RIPPED OFF. Their Customer Service is laughable as having received the wrong tickets, I spent over a week of my time and money on emails and phone calls to try to rectify it. Ignored my emails and most of their phone lines are automated so you can't speak to a real person.
Learnt my lesson, they are greedy con artists and surprised they are still in business, avoid them at all costs.

They will try as hard as possible to conceal the final price.

During all the steps of the booking process they will show you the ticket price and then in a greyed out font "plus booking fees and VAT".

Only in the last step will they reveal the final inflated (+40%) price but then this time followed by another more colorful box stating the initial price again.

The design of the site was carefully crafted as to make the user not notice the inflated price until he got the e-mail about the order being done in his e-mail box. It's pure dishonesty.

They then of course refuse to return money for the paid ticket.

I could not get tickets for the annual cancer trust gig in London and was directed online to Viagogo. I purchased 2 tickets which were very expensive but as we had not been to this venue before we thought it going to be worth it.
The tickets arrived 3 days before and to our horror the original ticket face value was £35 and I had paid in excess of £200 for 2. The seats were terrible as we had no view, the night was totally disappointing to say the least.
DO NOT use this company they should all be wearing masks and be shouting "stand and deliver"

They hide the prices until you pay, but in other respects present themselves as a legitimate first line seller. Huge mark up on actual ticket prices - 200-300% increase wouldn't be unusual. There's also a significant risk that tickets will be refused at venue as ID is checked at many concerts, and your ID won't match the one on the ticket.
Don't touch them with a barge pole!

Scam
May 3, 2017

You get bullied by notices that there are almost no tickets left; prices are massively inflated (I thought the price they put for ONE ticket was the total; then for 6 tickets to kd lang they added $500 for ticket tracking) A few hours later they followed up with an email demanding photo ID within 48 hours or tickets would be cancelled but they had already taken the $2K plus from my credit card account. Do NOT even think of buying concert tickets from Viagogo. I have cancelled my card and am pursuing a disputation.

NO HELP! Rip off
May 3, 2017

Searched the internet for Bruno mars tickets at newcastle metro raido arena, a link came up for Viagogo stating tickets for sale for newcastle Bruno mars. I've clicked the link and selected 3 tickets as I wanted to surprise my mam for her birthday and my sister wanted to come along. Whilst trying to sercure tickets a time limit appears so I panic and rush as quickly as possible to make sure I get these tickets. Everything goes through and I get My ordered comfomation, unfortunilty the order comfortion says I've paid £176 to go see mrs browns boys something my self mother and sister are not interested in. I tried hard ways to get in touch as there help line will only deal with you if your ticket event takes place in the next 72 hours. I sent several emails over the course of 2 days to get one replay which was no help at all. I contacted my bank to see if the could help as I started to get suspicious that this was not a ligit sight. It wasn't until my bank had been I toucn they started to reply quicker. Sadly they have not offered me a refund or exchange so I'm now stuck with tickets I do not want and have paid a lot of money for! However they did offer me to resell them through Viagogo but this is a service I would not be using again

Just paid £98 for a ticket that should have cost £49. FInal prices are concealed until you have completed the transaction and in no way justified, and there is no cancellation. Better off taking your chances with a tout if you're absolutely stuck!
