The company's reputation is significantly marred by a consistent pattern of customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues related to ticket availability, inflated pricing, and inadequate customer service. Customers frequently report receiving invalid tickets, last-minute notifications, and a lack of effective support when seeking refunds or resolution. While some users may have had positive experiences, these are overshadowed by widespread claims of fraud and poor service. The overall sentiment reflects a strong caution against using the platform, highlighting a pressing need for improved transparency and customer support to rebuild trust.

Do not use viagogo! They just cancel the order days before the event without giving an explanation and they don't even give you the money back, and the customer support is a joke, avoid yourself loads of problems. As a buyer or seller.
I ordered tickets to a soccer game in Italy almost 2 months in advance. We were in travel mode when they contacted me about needing info to personalize the tickets. I immediately responded with the information. Four days later they requested the info again. I responded again and requested that the tickets be sent electronically because they probably couldn't deliver them to us before we left the delivery location. They said they couldn't send them electronically. Then the day before the event, they emailed me to say they were going to send the tickets electronically but they would have to be printed. They arrived in email just before midnight of the day before the event. That morning we were in travel mode with no ability to print anything for the net 6 days. They created a situation that made the tickets useless to us. These people are definitely scammers and no-one should use them for anything!
Why does Viagogo ripp people off? Paid for concert tickets to see Paul McCartney in December in Brisbane. They have overcharged us and there is no email address or phone number to get a hold of this company. It seems once again I have to go to school to learn my lesson.
I ordered tickets 2 persons which cost 340 per person, plus booking fee 194.50, handling fee 4.95, vat 40.85, in total I have pay 924.94. When we arrived there and when they scan the tickets the said the tickets were already sold out. They advice us to go to police station for file a report, which we did.
The police advised us to contact my creditcard company to claim back my money.
So i hope i will get back my money.
NEVER EVER ANYMORE BUY TICKET FROM VIAGOGO.
We did send several mails to viagogo but no reply.
I will never use this company again and would advise others not do so unless they are prepared to pay way over the odds unexpectedly as a result of extortionate hidden charges. They use pressure selling tactics which provide false information on ticket availability / scarcity and other purchaser activity to push one into making a snap decision and then add on a huge commission without telling you until after you have authorised the card payment. I bought 2 tickets for Coldplay in Cardiff with a face value of £71.50 each at a stated Viagogo price of £150 (170 euros) each for them understanding that this was the final price after their markup. At no stage was I informed during the payment process that I would be charged anything different and so I was shocked on having paid to receive a receipt stating that I had been charged not 340 euros as I expected but a total of 464.97 euros (£410.26), a markup of 124.97 euros (£110.26).
I did not know that it was legal to add charges without telling the buyer and I am very angry about this rip off. I would not have bought the tickets if I had known at any time in the process that this charge was to be added. On investigating the possibility of cancelling the purchase I learnt my only option was to re-sell the tickets through Viagogo at a huge additional cost.
I have not posted this review previously because I half expected that the tickets would prove not to be valid and I would be refused entry to the concert but as it happens all was well and I had a great night.
However, I will not be using Viagogo again under any circumstances while they use these rip off practices.
Ordered and paid for tickets for Paul McCartney in his one-to-one concert upcoming in Brisbane Australia. Paid $500 for tickets worth half that but was happy to do so as I'm in my 60s and want to see Paul in concert again. It was only after reading all the critical reviews about viagogo that I started to worry. Lucky for me, I got an e-mail from viagogo to tell me that whoever was selling the tickets through them didn't have any. The e-mail had a link to the options that were now available to me. Naturally, at the top of the page were offers for alternative tickets for the same concert but at much higher prices. Thinking this could be a bait and switch routine, I scrolled down the page right to the bottom... and my luck was in because in small print was a REFUND option. I clicked it and two days later my credit card was refunded with the full amount. Thank goodness for automatic systems that viagogo seem to rely on. But, reading all these other reviews, I'm wondering how long it will be before this refund option is no longer available. In most countries is illegal to take money for goods that you do not have and viagogo did not have any tickets when they took my money. I have reported them under Australian Consumer Law but I doubt it will change their behaviour. For those who do not know, viagogo has an address in Switzerland where documents can be served on it. Their CEO is called Eric Baker and the company name and address is:
Viagogo AG
Rue de Lyon 109,
CH-1203
Genève, Switzerland
My tickets were fake. They arrived with different names, different credit information and different prices that are well below what I was charged - $35.50 per ticket x 2 = $71; however, I was charged $391.87.
This site is a scam. There is no one to speak to or contact. There a loop on the website and Twitter page that continue to link you to nothing.
I now have a 12 year old daughter in tears. I hope you get what you deserve and have to pay back everyone you have stolen from.
I tried to sell my ticket to tomorrowland festival. Registered it. My ticket was bought by someone (of course, they don't disclose the name of the buyer and there is no way to contact him). At the time I only had the electronic ticket on me, my actual ticket has not been sent to me yet. I contacted viagogo asking to not send me my ticket, but forward it directly to the buyer. They said that it doesn't work that way, I need to receive my ticket and send it to buyer myself. My ticket was supposed to arrive on July 13th. On July 12th I receive an email from them saying that my transaction was cancelled and they charged me $30 for not sending my ticket on time. So, I paid for the ticket, I paid for trying to sell it through them, and on top of that I paid $30 for them not being able to send it to me on time. All my transactions disappeared from my account and I they have NO CONTACT PHONE and NO EMAIL and I can't submit any questions about my ticket in the system because it's not there anymore.
I needed to wait to be paid for 50 days-there is no phone number for customers, don't use their service!
This company are scammers, plain and simple. I was looking at Ed Sheeran tickets, put two in my basket, by the time it got to check out, which is after you put your bank details in the price had tripled. I clicked cancel, a drop down menu asked why, i clicked that the prices had gone up and closed the window... They have taken £480 for two tickets without my consent.
The tickets wont be valid either as my name wont be on them... check out twitter and facebook for 100's in the same boat, some have lost three times what i have... SCUM
Purchased primo floor seats $$$$ for Bantgan Boys in Japan from the US - go to the venue and are escorted to the upper balcony - 2nd row from the TOP of the venue! Complete rip-off - Complete SCAM. Do not buy from this site!
Open, asPLEASE DONT USE. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I've brought 2 tickets for the Golf Open, as a present for Fathers Day. But my husband and father could not go to the event as they had a competition on the same day.
So, at the time I didn't know that I needed an E-ticket.so I SOLD the tickets. And then tried to download an E-Ticket... but soon realised. I had NOTHING to down load.?
So I could not send any TICKETS to the buyer. Who had brought them off me.
No monies was exchanged from the buyer to me.( as you don't get paid till after the event) but I had paid for them in the first place.
So over 10 messages, and looking on FAQs to find out why No -E-Ticket?. To get automated reply's saying you need to send the E-Ticket.?
I stated I cannot send what I don't have.!
**warning. States on website if you don't send E-tickets Viagogo CAN CHARGE YOU as well.
So now in a position. Where. I cant send them. Any e-tickets?. I will lose the sale. And I have lost my money £171.00!. They are based outside the EU, SO THE TRADING STANDARDS. Cannot do anything. They are based in Swaziland.
And you cannot reach them via phone. I've tried..
COMPLETE RIP OFF MERCHANTS!
We bought 2 tickets for Saturday NOS Alive (Depeche Mode headline act) traveled from the UK to Lisbon, only to be told the tickets we had were fake. Ours and 500 others from Viagogo!
Don't use this site!
What a shocking site; misleading super expensive, ridiculous extra fees when you check out. To be avoided at all costs
Do not use please, you will get ripped off big time, they pay to be top of the search engine then have an almost non existent customer service, whose staff were rude to say the least, I have reported them to my bank as having fraudulently taking money for tickets that never appeared! Its simple just do not use this company and ready all the reviews as proof they can not be trusted just because they are on the internet! Terrible
Rip off site, definite No no, was expecting to get £105 for sale of x 2 Greenday tickets, thought I had already paid fee for selling these tickets, to find they took another £75, only receive £35, DISGRACE Do Not Use.
Tickets purchased in Jan for Little Mix 09/07/2017 with hotel stay for daughter and granddaughter. Viagogo cancelled day before with no explanation. Impossible to get hold of. Not surprised of none existant customer service after reading bad reviews. Shocking.
I sold a Depeche mode ticket two months ago, but after the date of the concert was told that the buyer was not allowed entrance to the venue with my ticket, so not only will i not be paid, but I will also need to pay a fine! Considering that the ticket was 100% real and I had bought it myself, this did not sound right. Little did I know that trying to contact Customer service at Viagogo is slow death. After receiving a template answer to my issue, I was three times referred to a new agent, who started communicating with me from scratch, as if nothing was logged in their system. Luckily, I did not get any additional fees to pay, but I know I will never again use this absolute scam of a service.
We bought two tickets of NOS Lisboa four months ago, yesterday we came to the festival and our tickets were fake. A lot of people have fake tickets too, the police said there was at least 15.000 fake tickets. This is a shame and it is unbelievable
I am extremely disappointed! They have send us fake tickets. We payed double the price and couldn't enter the concert! Never use this site!
Answer: My tickets were real but I was scared the person whose name was on the ticket would turn up with id. A R600 ticket the price on the ticket which we were not told ended up being twice that. Would I use them again? NO
Answer: So frustrated surely there must be something we can do, surely this is not legal?
Answer: For is it was a total con. They showed prices in HK dollars and then charged in US dollars. We paid $4000 US dollars for two Madonna tickets. There's literally no phone number on their site and it's impossible to get in touch with customer service. Don't buy tickets here. You'll be sorry. They even charged us $500 for a service fee. Really insane!
Answer: Hi Bryan! Viagogo is a ticket marketplace that allows individuals to buy and sell tickets for live events. Once you purchase with viagogo you are covered by our guarantee: http://www.viagogo.co.uk/landingpage/1044610 Kind regards, Ana
Answer: No they don't. I will never ever make any purchase frm viagogo and I will warn you not to. They deducted my money from my back without my acknowledgement in Dec and guess what, I received the same email frm them that they will be deducting the amount from my bank again due to me not able to produce the ticket. My reason is that event organiser close down my seating section. Ended up have to go thru my bank to get the money back from them. They are the worst.
Answer: If in doubt, always try and pay by credit card so have a certain amount of protection/insurance. There's a lot of fraudulent ticket sales going on all over at the moment, so do your homework, read reviews and always use a secure method of payment if you decide to proceed.
