The overall reputation of UPS is marred by significant concerns regarding service reliability and customer support. Many customers report frequent delays in package delivery, errors in shipping, and inadequate responsiveness from customer service representatives. Complaints highlight issues with lost packages, unfulfilled delivery promises, and a lack of accountability, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. While some customers acknowledge the company's long-standing presence in the industry, the prevailing sentiment is overwhelmingly negative, with calls for improved communication and service efficiency. This feedback suggests that UPS must urgently address operational shortcomings to restore customer trust and satisfaction.

Tracking showed package was delivered but was not. Called customer said we would receive a call within 1 hour next day still no call back. Horrible customer service and we still have no idea where the package because it was not delivered to us.
I was charged $34 for a 3 lb shipment about 3 months ago. UPS lets the UPS store charge whatever they want. Corporate gave me the run around for weeks. Kept saying contact this department.
They sent me an email this morning that my package will be delivered between 2-6 today. It's noon and I received another message, "Sorry we missed you". They made no effort to deliver. They are by far the worst shipper ever!
I used to have complete faith in UPS until a few days ago. We are a retired couple and own a small candy shop, we make every bit of the candy we sell. We've used UPS for many of our shipments, a few have arrived with some damage to the package but were ok. We recently shipped with UPS 25 pounds of English Toffee destined for Southern California. The shipment left our shop in Northern California and arrived at the Pasadena Hub the next day. It was on track and all tracking information was in order. UNTIL it disappeared off the radar. The box was taped with massive amounts of heavy duty shipping tape, maybe that was the key for workers at the Pasadena Hub. They claim the box arrived damaged and empty in the letter we received. Yet online it indicated that the box was on the truck for delivery until it disappeared from their tracking system. There were 24 one pound tins of dark chocolate toffee in that box that just merely disappeared shortly after arrival at the hub. It seems to me that 24 UPS employees took home those 24 tins of toffee. To add insult to injury UPS is blaming us for the empty box that was in their full possession. Like I said, we are a Mom & Pop candy shop, this is a tremendous blow to us. We now have to make more toffee to replace the toffee that was stolen, and I strongly believe - stolen by UPS employees. We also have to purchase additional Christmas tins to put the additional shipment of toffee in. AND we have to pay additional shipping costs out of our own pocket due to the dishonest employees of UPS. All this adds up in costs to us while UPS has washed their hands of it. Do you think I'm going to use UPS for the next shipment or shipment thereafter, if so, think again. I'll drive to Pasadena myself if I have to. When a large company such as UPS takes advantage of a small company its not good thing. This is total abuse to customers when they absolve themselves of any responsibility!
This is the worst shipping company ever, sad how far this company has fallen. They delivered package to wrong addresses; this is not the 1st time, mind you, my home is the only one on the street with the address numbers marked on the mailbox. I filed a claim, 2 minutes later they noted that the investigation is complete, and the package was confirmed delivered via there proof of delivery? What proof the package proof of delivery has no gps plot points to confirm location package was scanned at, no picture of where package was left and this is a amazon requirement. Now I have to fight for my $200 Christmas present with shipper, bank, etc. all because ups is completely incompetent. And its not like I have another $200 to purchase another gift. Horrible service, horrible customer service, you have to talk to a computer the whole process? There system is set up as if they never make a mistake. I will never purchase an item via any company that ships with ups. Thanks for a great Christmas ups
Multiple times I've had ups driver claim he attempted to deliver my package but they missed me. That's bull. I was always home. I have a small apartment so no way did I not hear a knock. You hear everything in my apartment. I've complained to customer service and they pretty much didn't care and blocked me from sending more emails because I told them they have drivers that lie and too lazy to actually walk to your apartment. They even tried to say once that it was a signature required package and it was not. Then they said it was for security of package to not leave at my door. I live inside a locked building that they have the code for to get in. Never once has there been a problem with packages here. It always seems to happen to my packages that are scheduled on a Friday. Hmmm I can't even tell them to deliver it to a closer location either without paying to be able to. You'd think the fact that I paid them to ship my product would at least include that courtesy. I have a lot of things shipped and so far I've been able to change about half of my shipments I get from various companies to other shippers. Usually fed ex so that's been a lot nicer and less stress. Some of my packages are needed within a certain time frame and I plan for it but still doesn't make it half the time. So now it's Friday and I have to wait till the end of the day Monday to drive way further then I need to as there is a ups store a block away from me. So this just gave me the incentive to start back up with changing the shipper with the remaining companies I order from. It's amazing that I pay them to deliver something and they don't hold up there end of the bargain. Their customer support is worthless too.
Always have to pay duties and taxes when I receive a shipment with ups & Not with The other mailing companies, the accuracy of arrival for packages is usually wrong. No indication of on delivery, but when I called ups they said it is, they have been lying for days now
Had me sign for and pick up an $80 package at a holding facility last week, but had no problem leaving a 50 inch television I ordered on my front porch for all the world to see today while I was at work. The reason I say they don't care is that the 'attempted delivery' of the small package wasn't caught on either of my ring cameras, making me question if there was even an attempt, but the quick knock on my door and mad dash away today was. I'm certain the drivers get paid enough to ring the doorbell, that way if someone is home they can have a chance of knowing the delivery was made. And I'm sure delivery drivers know what a ring camera looks like. Anyone with social media knows what it does. Since I wasn't home, it would have been nice to get that notification on my phone. Lazy? Working with the porch pirates? Or just don't care?
I bought my brother a crockpot for Christmas. UPS driver brought it yesterday and decided to throw my package on my porch instead of just setting it down, it was so loud that it scared the crap out of me and my dog by the time I made it out the door the driver was already leaving I bring the package in and immediately knew that my item was broken. So here we are a week away from Christmas and I had to order a replacement and hope that it gets here in time, so thank you UPS driver for damaging my Christmas present
A store I ordered from sent part order usps and part ups against my knowledge, I provided a P.O. Box and was not told couldn't. I waited 2 weeks for order then tracked and horrified to fing out ups returned nto sender. I contacted them and they said cannot deliver to a post office. Instead of looking my name up in system for other address or possibly calling me they just returned it. They would not even allow me to change address and return, or pickup though it was literally 30 min from my house at their location. This was presents for holidays and now I'm screwed. No way to get package, they are returning to sender. I waited 2 weeks for nothing, holidays ruined. I hate UPS. Even Fed Ex will deliver to a post office. Not my fault I didn't know what method it was coming and which address to give. USPS does not deliver to our physical address, holds at post office. Therefore I gave po box.
Friday: I was waiting (since Nov 29th) a large package (40lb, thousand of dollars value), and I receive a ups call that I missed because of static, no sound, technical error, I don't know exactly why but the communication failed. The important point is "single missed call". The no-communication was confirmed by the support staff.
Tuesday morning: I check-up on the tracking provided by the seller, "package refused by receiver" being returned to seller via another tracking
From my point of view at this moment: I received one missed call which at the time I suspected to be yet another scam bot call, no actual knowledge the driver had tried to deliver something (no paper on my door, nor around the other house, I live in a dead-end, super calm) no email from UPS or the seller. And people saying I refused the package. To which I expected and was aware they were gonna be import charges (which I still don't know, no body ever asked or told me any information...)
I contacted support of both UPS and the seller. UPS says they tried 3 time to deliver it. I was home all week-end, got home Monday around 17h, and there was no paper on door, no email, no callback.
So long story short 175+265usd (plus the seller restocking fee, obviously because why not...) spontaneous charge to enable corporatism and/or lazy-driver for me this year I guess. If you think a package of this value (or any other for that matter) should be hold in a local warehouse. Or if you think the paper notice should be left when they do an attempt of delivery. Or if you think there should be an actual cap on artificial-charges logistics cie can charge with impunity. STAY AWAY FROM UPS.
PS: quite possible the driver took the tracker device up to my door and actually not left the paper, I don't know (again, no info...) but I also can't do anything differently. This would obviously be an exploitation of the system by the driver. Which UPS should take responsibility for.
Thy are the worst at losing packages! Had a delivery and a return in the same week and both packages were lost.
Trying to get a package sent to my local UPS Store, even with UPS Unlimited, has been a nightmare. Since, like most people, I work during the day, I wanted to reroute a large package to my local UPS store so I could get it on the weekend. Their customer service is useless and almost impossible to understand. Their first rep must have been walking around on a cell phone, because the call kept cutting out and I was on a landline. I finally gave up and opted to call back. The next rep was unintelligible and extremely difficult to understand. I appreciate that English isn't everyone's native language but, if you talk like your mouth is full of marbles, maybe telephone customer service shouldn't be your profession? The rep just kept parroting back the same spiel and, when I asked for a supervisor, because I got tired of asking her to repeat herself, I was told no UPS supervisor is on duty and I would need to hold for an hour. I said fine, I will wait. 15 minutes later she came back online and then told me that she had no idea when a supervisor would be available. I guess every UPS supervisor got taken in the rapture or walked off the job. Just a terrible company and everything is a problem. If my package is delivered, I would say 20% of the time it ends up with a neighbor and I have to ho
Go retrieve it from their steps. I never have an issue with FedEx and am almost at the point where I won't order from anyone who uses UPS as their only shipping option. Their motto should be: Hey, at least we aren't USPS! Right now my package is simply being help at a UPS depot, which is only open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. You know, when most people are at work. So Imight have to take a day off to go get it, because I don't want a $1,000 item sitting unattended outside all day. Complete sh!t company.
I have a big patio box labeled with a sign that says fedex-ups-amazon. I have this so the dog don't chew them up. Everyday the driver will place the package on the ground in front or beside the box. Then he gets back in the truck and takes picture with his windshield washer blocking view of the box to make it look like he's done the right thing. Ive called and called ups but always routed over seas and if you get someone on the phone good luck!
They lost one of my packages, delayed most of my others and when they had to pick up another to be returned to Amazon they couldn't even pick it up on time. This company seems not to care what they do.
They could nog deliver a package within a week from the next city over. They said "Monday by 9" and then Monday 10PM rolls around and they updated it to Tuesday by 9m when I needed it the Saturday before. They cannot be bothered to update you on the progress of your package and don't bother to deliver in a remotely timely fashion.
I have experienced good customer service at my local UPS store until today. I wanted to ship 2 tins of cookies to different locations. The employee went to get boxes but returned without them saying he couldn't get to them-too much stuff in the way. He then totaled my purchase without asking if I wanted expedited shipping or additional insurance. I wanted 2 day shipping. He the calculated the cost for that-$86 and $72. That didn't include boxes and packing materials. I agreed and he recalculated the total and said I owed a TOTAL of $94. I told him that couldn't be right-pointed that shipping for only one box cost almost that much. He didn't appear to understand what I was saying. UPS will go out of business with employees with his level of competency. He was nice though.
Stephanie a supervisor need to get fired she just mess with the black people in get them fired she is racist in harassing people everyday teller me you don't have to work here and for no reason she is a Michigan city Westville ups
I never had many issues with UPS until I downloaded app, put in preferences, etc. Then it all went to hell. I never knew when or where my packages would go. They ignore preferences and send your packages to far away locations when you live a few blocks from another! No one knows what is going on, no one can help you, if you are incredibly lucky and finally speak to a human, the say they will fix it and some one will contact you "within an hour"… never happens.
I was notified of a special Christmas package having been delivered. However, no picture was taken, my doorbell didn't show anyone arriving at that time, and there is no package. UPS needs to hire more honest and responsible people if we are to entrust in you delivering valuable packages. They should be ashamed of themselves...and so close to Christmas. I'll go to Fedex next time.
What kind of company allows (UPS) their delivery personnel to leave packages in the rain at the garage. Especially when I made a request for front door deliveries
Answer: Because there is ZERO accountability at UPS and they dont care about customers or having business ethics. Answer my question if you can.(Click on my profile and see it)
Answer: Because the management orders the people under them to do it, so it looks good on UPS. And most customers dont bother to complain or write reviews.
Answer: It's driver preference and they don't care. I complained about this. I'm constantly getting medical supplies delivered and they don't care
Answer: Because they don't care! For the life of me, I can't understand why anybody uses them as a delivery service.
Answer: Because they are a very poorly run company. It doesn't even run its offices domestically well, as you can see by the overwhelmingly negative reviews on this site. Use any shipping service over UPS.
Answer: UPS is a disgrace. They are a disregardful and careless business who lies to their costumers. Absolutely will not support ever again!
Answer: Sadly, today the term racist is used to define almost anyone that we disagree with. I am not a happy customer of the ups store but if you are getting death threats you need to contact the police. It is illegal in America to make death threats against anyone no matter their race, creed or color. That is the beauty of living in United States of America. You do not need to wait for a company to file charges against another human being who is threatening your life. You just need to take the appropriate, legal action against that person, good luck!
