I sent them my items and did not receive word for over a month. I reached out to them and was told them had my items and they were still processing. When I looked at my items online they were pried ridiculously low. I just received $4.80 for never worn Banana Republic flats that are still currently selling. WHAT?!?!?! The descriptions written with the items are terrible and the "retail price" listed on one of my items is about $60 shy of what I paid... and I wore them once.
I wish I had not sent any of my items. I would make more money if I brought them to a local consigner or sold on Ebay. I hope my other items don't sell so I can get them back.

Suspicious practices
August 31, 2015

I attempted to sell with them, using their kit. Everything I sent was in excellent condition, although they claimed some of the items were un-sellable. They seemed all too eager for my agreement to have them "donate" the items. I chose to pay the $10 fee to have them ship my items back to me. I think they keep the "donated" items, sell them and keep the profits. Stay away.

They lost my package of 2 Michael Kors handbags, 2 Coach bags (a rare and a vintage) and other assorted items and only wanted to reimburse me $300 dollars. They sent me multiple emails saying they receivedy package but never posted my items. After three months they admitted losing them. Their insurance is not adequate and they do not readily info that their insurance only covers $300 value. Do yourself a favor and do not use!

BIG Thieves
June 1, 2015

I sent 16 pair of new with tags J. Crew jeans & pants, a week later I emailed if they received them they stated they did not, I sent them the tracking number stating they were dropped off a week ago & they magically appeared. Then they stated they only received 15 pairs of pants? They also stated that 4 pair were not expectable, So I had to pay 10.00 to have them sent back to me or I could donate them. I wanted them back so I can see which pair are missing (or stolen) all pants were between 89.00-156.00 each. A total of over 1600. 00 they are selling the pants for 28.00 each That's crazy so I will get less than 125.00 if all the pants sell

This is one of the worst companies I have EVER dealt with! DO NOT send your items to them! They make it sound so easy! Just put everything in this bag, sent it and we'll take care of the rest! RIGHT! I stupidly sent 5 new designer handbags over 2 months ago. Two weeks after I sent them I got an e-mail saying they received my bags. They said they would be listed online in 7-10 days. It's been SIX WEEKS! The bags are still not on the website! I've written them numerous e-mails and gotten false promises time after time! I wish I would have read these reviews BEFORE I sent them in. I'm talking almost $1000 value! I'm so furious with this company. I will never buy from them either. I don't buy from a place I don't trust and I don't trust THREADFLIP!

I wanted to like Threadflip and gave them many chances as a seller and as a buyer.
I like that they offer full service, returns and free shipping.

They're iPad app could use some more attention.

My request for a full service kit arrived after 4-5 weeks.

I ordered an item from their warehouse. After 3.5 days it wasn't shipped.
Customer service said give it a few more days. After 8.5 days I wrote again explaining that I'm moving and won't be able to access my mail for much longer. 2.5 days later they acknowledged one of my 5 orders by canceling it saying that the item is no longer available.

I tried to respond via the iPad app and there was no way that I could find to view what I was typing because the program is set up for a PC and cuts off the right hand side of the page after about 6 words. (Hitting the return button only sends the msg rather than starting a new line and placing the curser at the end of the line and scrolling also doesn't work.)

I recommended that rather than just advising customers to wait a few more days for a refund, they may consider offering us an incentive to shop with them again. I missed out on other listings while spending two weeks waiting on them.

While it was a frustrating experience, the good news is that it's only clothes and not healthcare, politics, investing etc. so they can't cause too much damage.

They stole my money
February 27, 2015

I sold something on Threadflip. The customer did not like it. I said they could return it no problem as long as the tag was still on it and it was in the same conditioni sent it. Then I get an email from customer service saying I must pay them via PayPal today $12 in return shipping. I wrote back saying it's ridiculous that be at loss of money trying to sell on their site and that shipping doesn't coat half that. My next email was saying my account was closed, no longer existant. Now I have no jacket or money. They scored from me. Totally unprofessional and unlawful.

Caveat-while these reviews are generally negative, and most probably a small % of total customers, will agree w/ one commenter that I will not list on this site. Was not impressed that they have only one rep working email; I had (not unusual)? S that took 1-3 days for her to answer - why don't they list them on their FAQS? (they like to push their full-service, while I'm an experienced DIY) As another person remarked, why don't LEGIT businesses have a PHONE customer service line? This firm lists a phone #, but it's a recording! (btw, thanks to all who post/read this)

I find THREADFLIP to be one of the worse online consignment apps out there. First, half of the time I've had issues with there tracking system. I ship, and it doesn't update. I have to email which can take up to 72 hours to receive a reply. Then payments have not been released in a timely fashion but they have there 20 percent COMISSION for doing nothing. Latest is 3 days to transfer proceeds to PayPal and I still have not received my money. Tradesy by far has the best customer service and actually responds to their buyers. Poshmark is my second favorite as my payments have always been timely and buyer pays shipping and not deducted from proceeds like THREADFLIP does. After I receive my funds, I'm done with this horrible app forever.

I'm very unsettled that Threadflip sold a Martin Margiela NWT dress of mine (that I sent them via the Full Service Kit) FOR ONLY $20 of which I only received $4.99 after all commissions were taken.

I pulled down all of the items that I could minus the ones they had for their Full Service Kit. I wonder if they'll sell my NWT Dolce and Gabbana dress for $20. A crying shame.

Going to Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads Trading would be less insulting and those stores are infamous for their poor payouts.

Stay away until they get it together with better commissions and price points. If they don't get it together, then I predict they will go the way of the dodo bird (as they should).

Shame on you, Threadflip. You need to keep your sellers happy.

UPDATED 12/30
December 29, 2014

UPDATED 12/30. Downgrading them as of today's service! Had to cancel 2 more orders(1 6 days old, 1 5 days old). There's still no cancel button so I had to email them. Well they must have told the sellers to ship. I got 2 order confirmations today. Tried to contact sellers, who knows if they got the messages. Think I just need to cut ties with them. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I started selling on here this as an alternative to ebay (due to increasing problems there!) It's been ok. You don't receive money until the item is received. Normally that's fine by me, but my last few items have been coats and you have to buy postage on your own (w/ no discounts). This has been a financially horrible year for me, so even $10 shipping hurts. I haven't been haggled here like on ebay, so that's good. It's been hard to get traffic tho. I don't have a variety of sizes to attract more buyers since it is SUPPOSED to be items from your own closet. Seems like more sellers are trying to make it a business, so your stuff gets lost in the mess quickly. I feel sellers get too long to ship (5 complete days). I ship nightly because I feel that once an item is paid for that it's no longer mine to keep.

I did my own listings with Threadflip for several months and am horrified at how this is actually legal -- I wanted to do a return for a buyer, so their official customer service account had me send the funds plus shipping via paypal to threadflip's email with a note of the order number and told me I'd get the funds for that transaction after the successful return. THEY THEN KEPT THE ORIGINAL FUNDS "since the item was returned." I have no idea how that makes sense -- the buyer got their money back, but now I'm out $65 and am back where I started with an item to sell. Definitely won't be using Threadflip, though.

TERRIBLE
May 21, 2015

My first experience/purchase was great, no issues. Easy and fast. My second purchase not so much. My item was sent not only to a wrong address, but the wrong state. Shortly after I made my second purchase (before I knew there was an issue) I purchased a very expensive purse. They put the incorrect delivery address AGAIN and the item was sent back to Threadflip. After a month I am still trying to get a refund/solution for both items.
BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. DISGUSTED

I have been a full service seller on thread flip for almost a year now. In the beginning it was super easy to send them stuff and then a week or so later they would post your stuff and my stuff would sell super fast. Since around January of 2015 I have had COUNTLESS problems. First they took over 2 months to process through one buy and when asked about my items I only got vague answers. I still used them though due to them taking photos and measurements and also promoting and selling fast. Well now in May i am having some HUGE issues. First off i tried to cash out to paypal and it didn't go through for over a week, so i decided to email them about it. They emailed me back saying that i have another account and i need to close to to get money into paypal... OK thats fine i don't even remember creating another account. They then suspended the account with over 7k worth of full service items posted and my money from paypal still pending plus money from orders that had not finished up. I have to email them 4 times and a week later they finally got my account up. But still no money in paypal. It as been now 3 weeks since i tried to cash out multiple times and I still don't have my money and it needs to be fixed. Every time I have emailed they say it is "pending". NOT ACCEPTABLE, Also these days almost nothing ever sells on the site. They need to get a phone number so i can actually speak to a person rather then wait weeks for them to email back.

Sent them all designer beautiful items. Worked with a woman there who quit and went to the competition to work. They took it out on me and my clothes. Abruptly closed my accnt and sent me back 2 huge TORN boxes with gaping holes of my designer clothing/bags coming out of the boxes. Couldn't believe it thst thry crumpled a YSL VELVET couture piece into a ball and shoced it in there. LESLIE FONG WAS RUDE AND UN APOLOGETIC. Shame on her that she did nothing as a manager with that company. Their was a mention of going after my sales associate but refused to tell me why they terminated me and aggressively shoved my expensive items into broken boxes and returned. Slso had to NEGOTIATE getting paid. They should have been ashamed of themselves. I hope the president, owner, investors of this company sees this.

I have been selling with Threadflip for over a year now. I have seen the service deteriorate during the past 6 months. Besides charging 20% and not offering a discount on shipping. For the past three days I have not been able to receive over $800.00 in money they owe me for selling items. They claim they are doing maintenance on Pay Pal and every day they keep indicating the system will be up any day but it has been down for three days now. This issue with sellers not being able to receive their money via Pay Pal is a serious violation of internet ethics! How are you claiming to be this major internet site but not have any alternative ways what so ever to pay sellers what is due to them? What kind of tech team do you have when thousands of other sites use Pay Pal and are having no issues. For them to have advertisements all over the internet they offer poor customer service, have no direct number to reach them, sometimes it takes days for them to get back with you. This latest issue with not being able to receive money is inappropriate. Threadlfip should be investigated and shut down for not being able to pay sellers for goods they sold.
