Torrid is the only store I shop at and I have been to numerous stores as well as ordering online. I have NEVER had an issue ordering from them and every single employee that I've met in each store has been really nice and helpful. I do most of all my shopping at the Rio Store in Gaithersburg, MD and customer service is always five stars. The store is always clean, they always welcome me when I walk in, let me know what sales are happening and we have great conversation while I am shopping the store. I have only had one issue ordering online but Torrid was quick to e-mail me and let me know that my order was going to be delayed and had already refunded my shipping money without me having to ask. Now I am a platinum shopper so I don't have to worry about that. I personally haven't dealt with calling customer service for any issues so I can't comment on that but if you have an issue and can't get help on the phone, try going to your local Torrid, you can return products ordered online, in-store and the employees are always so helpful!
I've never had a bad experience with Torrid. I've managed to find some very good work clothing that doesn't look too young, but isn't frumpy either.
Not sure how long they been around but I just found them and I'm super happy! Big girls deserve beautiful clothing too! A bit pricey but worth it!
I bought the biker shorts with pockets so comfortable run a little big for the price couldn't go wrong and love torrid cash
My order was overcharged. I waited 15 minutes to talk to a rude woman who could have cared less and didn't fix it. I will never shop Torrid again.
I ordered a shirt and hat on friday October 20th I called monday to see when the order would be shipped as I need it for oct 31st my shirt is on back order but when i ordered it on friday it was in stock so he they will ship the hat well i dont want the hat without the shirt can you just cancel the order the rep says I can send an email to the warehouse WHAT really how stupid does that sound I order off line everyday and they can cancel it at the click of a button i checked the order again today still in process not shipped at all I order from Lane bryant the same day and my order has shipped and should arrive by Thursday this is absolutly ridculous i will never order online or shop there stores PERIOD! Oh and not to mention the customer service rep was rude and disconnected the call before I was done speaking

I've shopped from both the actual mall store, and the online store. The service online for orders, cannot compare to what you recieve in an actual store. For the most part, my online order experiances were wonderful. My items would actually arrive sooner than quoted from shipping! The reason I gave 3 out of 4 stars, is that I had placed an order, that included underwear. One of the items I recieved, was in the wrong size & color. I contacted customer service for help correcting the mistake, and because of the kind of item (underwear), could not be returned or exchanged, being what it was, I would have to pay shipping again, to recieve the correct item, as I'd originally ordered. I'd hoped that at least since it was the company's fault for the incorrect item being sent, they would pay to correct the matter, or at least refund me the cost of the item & shipping, then charge me again for it to be sent. Instead, I had to pay for shipping. Twice. Having already paid shipping for the order, it doesn't strike me as right, that I should have to pay for their mistake to be corrected to as it ought to have been from the start. So now, I only will purchase undergarment items from in-store, and everything else I would order on their website. I reccomend this for others as well.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A CREDIT CARD WITH TORRID!
I signed up for one today because they said I'd get 25% off my first online owner if I was approved for credit. I was approved. My total was $189.76. I entered my coupon code to get my 25% off, and my total changed from $189.76 to $263.92. I called to speak to someone and asked what was going on, and I was informed that if I used my 25% off coupon, I'd have to PAY FULL PRICE FOR ALL OF MY CLEARANCE ITEMS!
What kind of horse crap is that?!
So I thought, "Okay. No big deal. There were two Disney dresses I wanted that were full price." So I added those to my cart. One was $69.50 and the other was $79.50. I had my 25% promotion applied, and it told me that my subtotal before tax would be $149.00. Turns out that any Disney merchandise is EXCLUDED from the promotion. However, it wasn't going to tell me that. It still let me use my promotion. Thankfully I noticed; otherwise I would have paid full price for both items AND wasted my 25% off coupon. I was so disgusted, I deleted everything from my cart and left the window. That is one credit card that I will never use - not once.
I have never been so disgusted by a store in my entire life. I plan on spreading the news to every review site I can find.
I've never been more frustrated. Not only have my orders not shipped, but they keep canceling items. Two of the items they cancelled because they were "no longer available" I ordered the next day and low and behold I RECEIVED THE CANCELLED ITEMS 3 DAYS LATER! The rest of my original orders, the supposed "in stock items" STILL have not shipped, 23 days later. Though I'm sure they'll be cancelled soon enough. Of course those items didn't include the discount from the previous order… and I really appreciated the generic response about cancelled orders. They reimbursed the torrid cash… but wtf am I gonna use that for when I can't the orders I used it for in the first place!?!?
I have been a very loyal customer, spending (literally) thousands every year for yeaaaars, on top of referring multiple friends and family members…. But I think it's time to cut my ties. I'm at the point of frustration that when, I mean if, I finally get any of my orders they will be returned and my credit card cancelled. I'd rather shop somewhere the clothes are not as cute or well fitting if it means better customer service and less BS.
Whatever they have going on now is trash. Their customer service continues to decline, unfortunately I'm not the only having these issues. They're ruining what was once an amazing business, into the ground.
I am very disappointed and upset with this company and the customer service department. I ordered a dress on Sunday evening and paid 28 dollars to have it overnighted so I would receive it on Tuesday as I needed it asap. There was NOTHING that said that it would not be here on time when I ordered it, or I never would have ordered it and paid such an exorbitant shipping fee. I called on Wednesday to cancel the order because it still hadn't been shipped and I was NOT going to pay 28 dollars for the overnight shipping when it obviously didn't ship overnight. I was informed that they couldn't cancel a package over 1 hour after placing the order, which is bull. Every other website I have ever ordered from can cancel a package up until it has been shipped. After spending over 30 minutes on hold while the customer service representative tried to find someone who could help me, I was told that my order had been canceled and I should receive an email stating that. I did not receive an email stating that, instead I got an email saying that they are sorry it's taken so long to ship my order and they would get it out asap. NOT happy. I called again and was informed that unfortunately my package is set to ship out and there is nothing they can do to cancel it now, I'll have to wait till it gets here and then call AGAIN to get them to send a return label and send it back. This is completely ridiculous and I've never had so many problems with an online order. If this is the way you run your website, I will not be ordering anything from here again. Very disappointed.
Hendersonville TN Torrid charged tax on $125 gift card for total $143. This is illegal, unethical as it causes DOUBLE TAX on products purchased. Or is this how they boost profits?
I ORDERED A NICE LAUNGERIE FROM TORRID BACK IN AUGUST 2022 THEY KEPT ON BRUSHING ME OFF WHEN EVER I REQUESTED AN UPDATE A. MINTH WENT BY I ASKED AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 2ND 2022 THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD RECIEVED THE ORDER IT WAS IN PROCESSING, EARLY OCTOBER 2022 I ASKED AGAIN THEY SAID THEY HAD SOKD OUT THE ITEM WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE THEY LIED TO ME I WAITED THREE MONTHS THE WAREHOUSE SAID MY ORDER HAD BEEN RECIEVED THEN A MONTH. LATER THEY CLAIM A COMPUTER ERROR BULL$#*! I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE FROM TORRID AGAIN BAD BUSINESS
The clothes are great, and with limited market for reasonably priced plus size clothing, they've cornered it. However, for about the last year I haven't been able to order from them since they now refuse to ship to non-billing addresses. I eventually changed my billing address so the two addresses are the same. When the payment was declined again, I called in. I live overseas, so these calls are not cheap. I waited almost an hour to get to someone who finally placed the order himself. It was cleared.
Two hours later I get an email saying the order has been cancelled. After 40 minutes on the phone with my bank I confirm that the charge was verified and went through, and within a few hours was reimbursed. It had nothing to do with my bank.
I call torrid again, another wait. Finally I'm told they need a third party call with my bank to verify my address since my visa card address has changed. Now, my bank, and visa, have verified this payment. Why on earth does Torrid require further verification? Furthermore, I have no intentions of making a third party call to my bank -who's first response is to ask security questions - with Torrid on the line. I feel this is a privacy violation and I trust both my bank and visa to regulate fraud on my account.
I am a platinum member with Torrid, and while I do love their clothes, the customer service is so horrific, and rude, that they just aggravate you into yelling at them. What clothing store has the right to request bank verification? That request comes from the banks who are far better equipped to detect fraud. And FYI, I'm from Canada, our privacy laws are far stricter, I'm pretty sure they would not appreciate the third party call either.

CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT USED MY CARD INFORMATION TO MAKE AND UNAUTHORIZED PURCHASE FROM FASHION NOVA! Spoke to two customer service agents. One was very polite and helpful, the other was sketchy on the phone. I just got his new credit card so absolutely no one else has my card information but the person who helped me. I had to place my order over the phone because it wasn't working online for me. That customer service agent asked for my card information way too many times and and moments after we got off the phone, i had a charge on my account for a purchase online from Fashion Nova. I dont buy from that website, and the card was only used for torrid that first time. Im trying to make a police report and they're refusing to give me her name. Im so disappointed and upset with that customer service agent. They now have MY HOME address and my other family members address. Now i have to cancel the card. This is fraud. She used my identity to make a purchase online with MY card information. We give customer service agents our trust and personal information, and this woman who is representing Torrid's company did something that was completely wrong! This is fraud.
Although this happened to me i am very thankful for the customer service agent, the supervisor and manager that were trying to help me with this situation.
I ordered 3 maximum support bras and 2 t-shirt style dresses from Torrid which totalled my bill to over $400. This includes the exchange rate to Canadian from USA currency with tax and shipping. I was a bit surprised that orders shipping to Canada will always have a shipping charge placed on them regardless of the order total. There is free shipping offered to Torrid VIP members, however you have to spend a lot to get that perk.
I expected the shipping to take awhile simply because packages can get held up at the border crossing depots and with Covid in full force there are shipping delays all over the map. I ended up getting my order within 3 weeks which isn't all that long considering the distance.
I loved my purchases the first few times I wore them. I wear a size 14 and I am tall so I appreciated the longer dress lengths and loved that both dresses had pockets! I found all 3 bras to be comfortable and supportive plus really lived up to the description of a 'back smoothing fit',
My love affair with my new clothes and lingerie ended abruptly when both dresses simultaneously shrunk and stretched out after being washed twice and all 3 bras frayed and lost all shape after a handful of wears. I couldn't believe that such expensive products could be such poor quality. I followed the washing instructions perfectly and hung everything to dry yet still all items were so damaged barely 3 months post purchase that I threw all of them into the donation bin. When you wear a DDD bra like I do comfort and support are not things that can be negotiated, and I couldn't believe that each dress shrunk almost the equivalent of one whole size.
I have since completely boycotted Torrid and urge anyone else who is considering shopping here to do that same. Companies who make promises to 'Feel The Fit' and who are catering to people who have a hard time finding options for plus size clothes and lingerie need to live up to their claims, especially if they are charging top dollar for their products.
I WOULD GIVE THIS A BIG FAT 0. I have called Torrid multiple times in regards to a refund they owe me. All 4 times before, they said I will be getting the (REFUND) back to wait a few days. This time the customer service rep told me (that they had CREDITED me back the money already). I told her that I did not see the credit in my bank account. She insisted that she needed to call my bank to verify it 3-way. Once my bank answered, I had to VERIFY ALL MY PERSONAL BANK INFORMATION WITH HER ON THE LINE. (SSN#, ACCOUNT#, AND MY PRIVATE CODE). I was completely mad because she had all my personal information that is COMPLETELY PRIVATE. My bank verified that I NEVER RECEIVED the credit back. My bank asks me to call back and change ALL my private information because of the rep. Had all my info. Then the customer service rep told me that I would be receiving a CALL BACK IN 24 TO 48 hrs. From a manager! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have been and calling about this refund for the past 3 weeks. This is complete BS. They need to figure out a different way to verify your bank info! NOT HAPPY

Answer: I recently returned an item after waiting more than two weeks for delivery. It took almost a month for them to respond and acknowledge that they received the returned item. I never wore the item (shoes) because they were too small and Torrid only refunded 1/2 of the purchase price. RIP OFF!
Answer: They are the most consistent in sizes that I have found - so depends on what store you are comparing them to and your body shape. I am kind of boxed shape (except for cutting in under the bust I am big everywhere) - they run smaller than Lane Bryant for me - but for my friend who is chest heavy she wears the same sizes at both. In comparison to most regular sized stores I size down - like I am a 4x at Old Navy - a 3x at Torrid.

Answer: DON'T ORDER SHOES FROM THEM! I recently returned a pair of sandals that did not fit. I returned them the next day and fortunately returned via UPS so I had a tracking number. It took almost a month to get an acknowledgement that they received the return ONLY because I kept sending them the UPS proof of delivery, and then ---- THEY ONLY REFUNDED HALF THE PURCHASE PRICE!
