I'm in the process of making a career change. I've been at my current job since graduating university for the past 20 years. Needless to say, I've been out of the resume writing game for a long time. My resume was jam-packed with everything that I could think of that I've done in that time. Ken whittled it down and rearranged it to fit a new career in the private sector. While I haven't started submitting any applications yet, my friends who looked at it thought it was really good.
First I had to wait several weeks for the resume! Update! When I did receive it! It had half of the work detail and experiences removed! Lots of grammatical errors! Which I could not get changed! When I asked him to include more of my information! He just responded! With that's not necessary! Totally unhappy with invalid responses when I did get one! Then nothing after that! I have sent out this resume! To several employers with no feedback! So I am going to go to my original! What a waste of time and money!
This was a great experience. They consider everything I discussed with them, helped with wording and better expressions, and edited twice including my personal notes and observations. I hope to have more interviews with it soon!

Great Experience
I had my resume analyzed and learned a lot. I have been out of my field for a couple of years and have a widely varying work history. I was uncertain as to how to make all of that work. I purchased the resume and was delighted with the results. The writer was very quick and explained how I could customize the finished product for different applications. The first time I used my new resume I received an invitation to do a montage interview. I know have a live interview set for next week!

My experience with TopResume did not start on the right foot. There was a lack of communication and understanding of basic requirements and timelines associated with package purchased (Which seems to be a common issue with other clients). After few unpleasant emails with sales reps and some phone calls, I have been contacted by Laurie C. Who assured me that she will rectify. Although she kindly offered a compensation for the inconvenience which I highly appreciate, I had to decline as I value experts advice specially that english is not my first language. That is why I hired TopResume.
Less than an hour later, I did receive an email from Joe (the designated writer) and we scheduled a phone call to discuss my resume, skills and qualifications. During our conversations, Joe demonstrated high level of professionalism in understanding my needs from the get go. I have elaborated on major projects in my portfolio with technical details and information. It drew a smile on my face reading the first draft delivered and see how he incorporated keywords and phrases to highlight major aspects in my career in a very professional manner without missing a single detail. I was specially impressed with his familiarity with technical terms related to construction and project management.
It is worth mentioning that Joe delivered the first draft in less than two business days ( there were barely any revisions needed except few minor additions which shows great attention to detail). He is very responsive, friendly and experienced. His willingness to exceed his client's expectation and providing topnotch advice turned what was a frustrating experience into a positive and productive one. After going through moments of regrets during the early stages, I am now interested in exploring other services and offers they provide.
To sum it up, they do have communication issues with their first line ( sales and support) but they show high level of integrity and responsibility to rectify to your satisfaction. If you're having the same issue I had, ask your customer support rep to connect you with someone who can help you. They definitely have a team of highly qualified writers that are experts that can transform your resume and provide topnotch service.

They didnt even start writing my resume for three weeks. Then after I finally got the first draft they said it would be 1-2 days to get the second but that took another 2 weeks. It doesnt matter if the resume is good or not if you never get it.

I was put on furlough by my current company and had put together a resume on my own. I had been sending this resume out to about 20 or 30 different job announcements over a period of 6 weeks. I received absolutely no responses at all. I decided that I needed to do something different and that I felt that my main issue was more than likely my resume. After all I had spent 30 years in the military and this was the first job I had after I retired, so I knew I did not have a very good resume. I ran across TopResume and sent my resume in for a review and sure enough it came back with all of the things that I thought were the reasons that I was not being contacted. I signed up with TopResume and after my first review I had the resume and cover letter that I wanted. After sending it out to a few job announcement and posting it to a few job boards, I started to get some responses. In fact, I had an interview yesterday and I am relatively confident that I will be receiving an offer. You cannot go wrong with using this service.
A while ago the company I worked at was closed down and all employees, about 20 of us, were made redundant. The company I worked for paid a lot of money to a Human resource specialist to help us all with resumes etc. I received very little feedback and when I did all it said was "I think we can do better" So basically a waste of time.

I don't know what happened, a friend recommend them and I was actually impressed with what they delivered to him. My experience is completely different. Tara stopped responding to my complaints and inquiries and has failed to deliver anything but excuses and then stopped responding to my emails. Their charges will be declined when my credit card statement arrives.

I've never been good at creative writing, so doing my resume was a drag. TopResume made the whole process a breeze. It expresses my capabilities in a way I would've never been able to.
There were a lot of communication issues between my writer and I and when I got my final draft I noticed some spelling and grammatical issues which was extremely disappointing. I paid for executive service package which included 48 hour turn around service and linkedin update. I needed a federal resume done however I didnt see that specific option listed on the website. Two days later I didn't receive my resume. I contacted my writer as to why and she stated that since I needed a federal resume and needed to contact customer service to see what to do. I wish she had contacted me to know what was going on especially since I paid for a service to get my resume in 2 days for a reason. I received my resume on the third day and then made updates to what my writer sent and returned it to her. I also contacted Katie Warren complaining that I didn't get my resume in two days due to this confusion and she said she would waive the federal resume fee. A couple days pass and my writer states I should be receiving an updated draft the following day. Two days pass and I hear nothing. I contact my resume and she states that since I am getting a federal resume I need to pay more. Katie had previously told me via email this fee would be waived so they obviously don't communicate amongst each other. I forwarded the email to my writer and then she sent the updated draft. I would have preferred if she had emailed my the issue instead of saying nothing at all which is what my writer tended to do. Like others have mentioned the updates aren't amazing and there were issues with spelling and grammar in my final resume. The linkedin service is a joke. You just copy and paste whats in your resume to your linkedin

After spending a significant amount of time outside the U.S., I found myself diving back into the job market and in desperate need of a resume revamp. Paid for my resume and cover letter on March 31. Today, 20 days later, I still have not seen a first draft. So disappointing. I will be reporting them and asking for my money back.
UPDATE: 4/20 About 10 minutes after this posted, received my resume in my inbox along with the cover letter I paid for 20 days ago. I am reviewing, but a first read-through seems to be ok. Nothing earth-shattering... pretty much the same resume I sent them - just regurgitated in a fresher format... but the change-up in formatting seems to be nice. I will update again after a more thorough review of both documents.
UPDATE #2:4/24 Finally got a chance to review the Resume they provided as well as the cover letter and felt that I should take the time to update this review. Here goes: So on first glance, their version of my resume is what I would call very visually appealing. Formatting is well done and the overall flow is not too busy. At first glance, it is probably a resume that a prospective employer would take the time to read. Unfortunately, that is where the appeal ends.
I am an accounting professional. I'm also a CPA. My resume and letter were prepared by a person who called herself Lakesha. Wording and grammar all very Jr-High. Although I can see that she attempted to put some thought in the effort, this person sadly knew nothing about my field and attempted to use buzz-words and catch-phrases that did not fit the accounting discipline. Unfortunately for both of us, she was out of her depth.
Definitely not a resume that I would feel comfortable sending to potential employers to inquire about a professional position. So very disappointing. I hate complaining. Would much rather write a victorious, successful, "nailed it" review like some that are posted here.
There is possibly salvageable material here... definitely the formatting and layout. Overall a bad purchase. I am not sure if I will even ask for a re-write. I am fairly certain that if I do, I will eventually have to do the bulk of the editing myself.

TopResume premised a 24/48 hs service. I got a note from Top Resume that it may take more time to deliver 1st draft in order to ensure I get the best talent/expert in my field on the job. It took actually 2 weeks to get the first draft which was already not align with my expectations
After 2 week, I got a simple email, asking me to copy & paste my resume in Linkedin... That it is all... The expert advise from the best talent/expert in my field is to copy & paste my CV? And for a Price tag of USD $75?
I was expecting a serious advise and help to improve my Linkedin profile from Design, to each word of my profile tailor made to enhance and improve my digital brand footprint.
Additionally, I was definitively interested to get an strategic recommendation on how to improve SEARCH on my profile and even more tips and advice on posts, adding important info, get recommendations, include notes, posts, etc to really drive traffic, get connections and finally get noticed by the right potential companies.
As a summary, I would not think that TopREsume should offer & charge USD $75 to tell an executive to copy & paste the CV. Even if this is your professional advice and point of view, you can not charge for it. By the way, your recommendation is really not aligned with multiple professional Resume writing services nor with even Linkedin advice and tips. Key to Linkedin successful profile is ensure a very strong Search strategy using relevant and differentiated KEY WORDS, describe you professional career in a very unique and differentiated way and not really a mirror of the Paper REsume
I requested several times a refund of the service given the unprofessional and unsatisfactory service, YET response from Topresume was that they are unable to give a refund since the service started and it was delivered

I had been looking for a job for quite some time with not much success. Thanks to TopResume, I got a professional and tailored writer, who helped me land a job after 2.5 weeks. Definitely worth the money.
Answer: It depends, if you want to pay for a mediocre format riddled with errors that has the language equivalent of a high-schooler. You will end up paying $100 for something you could have sat down and done in an hour and a half.

Don't waste your money!
