Sent them 45 pieces. Took them 5 weeks to respond."we can't accept any of your items, but we will gladly donate them! Really? 22 of the prices still had tags. WHBM, Michael Kors, Tommy Bahama and J Crew just some of brands. Of course I wanted them back! I don't trust that they donate! Will never send anything again.
I'm very disappointed with the thredup team cause I was sending a coach bag, and I didn't see it on the things I was sending but they are sell it for $144, way they do that.
I love to get clothes for my kids from ThredUp! I got 12 articles of clothes for $80
Pay you crap for the clothes you sell. They actually don't pay you for all the clothes they accept, they put some for consignment. And when they don't sell they charge you for them to send them back to you even though you've already paid $12.99 for them to send you back anything that wasn't accepted.
I sent at least $2500. Worth of designer clothing to thread up. Ordering a purse used up what was available. I would feel better donating to Goodwill & will do going forward!
I have used ThredUp several times over the past three years to purchase items for myself. I have sold and bought items. I have bought a couple formal gowns from them and have been very happy with the purchases. Only thing that has been a bummer is that I have been living in Alaska and I they don't send bags for selling items. All in all I have been very happy with ThredUp. I can shop guilt free for brands that I wouldn't otherwise buy.
I have bought several items from thredUp and the items were delivered in a timely manner and packaged very nicely. There have been a few occasions the items I ordered were not what I expected or did not fit correctly, returning the items was quick and easy! Additionally, I have sold a few items to thredUp, the payout was quick and I appreciate the consistent email updates! Overall, I feel that thredUp has great customer service and would highly recommend!
I have been a customer for a few years now and have notice that my pay outs are getting smaller. I do receive a notice when an item was sold... but when I look back I notice it was as an unacceptable item.
Donating may be the best thing... I don't know what else to do :(
The website looks great... I ordered three items... not one of them was correctly sized.
I ordered another item before receiving these,, so I guess that's another return I'll be paying for.

They literally steal your clothes. They took 14 of my super nice items and offered me $14. ONE DOLLAR AN ITEM. That's just strait up wrong. And if you send them your stuff you no longer have a right to any of it so you can't dispute their offer. Sell on eBay mercari or poshmark and you'll make more off of one item than you do off an entire bag full of items. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!
In all fairness I never sold anything to TU. I only purchased a few items - several purses and some clothing for my grandchildren. I found the quality and condition of the items very good and had no complaints. My items arrived in a timely manner and were in the condition as stated on the site. I would use them again, however it is hard for them to compete with some of the discount retailers. I still browse their site and would buy from them again.
I've had a decent experience purchasing from this company but selling is a total rip off. They are practically stealing from you. I submitted a large quantity of very high end (in good condition) items (mini boden, Cakewalk, Gap, Matilda Jane, Janie and Jack, etc) and was pleased that they accepted 85% of the items I sent. What I was astonished by was the amount they offered for those items. Peanuts. I wasn't expecting a huge payout as I am familiar with how selling to consignment companies works. However, it is NOT EVEN CLOSE to a fair trade. Right after I sent in my items I got a thoughtful email from the CEO, (claiming he is a real person!) asking me to provide feedback via the support email address provided. "They really care and will provide a swift response!" I have sent 2 emails asking how I can just get my items back and decline their pathetic offer and I have not seen a single response. It's been two weeks. This was a mistake that I will not be making again.
Thred up is an ok way to clean out your closet, but you don't make much on the clothes you send in. I do like that the clothes that are not accepted go to charity. Definitely not a money maker.
I was so incredibly disappointed by my experience with selling to Thredup for multiple reasons. I was not expecting to get rich or even receive a substantial sum of money from the large quantity of high-end quality clothing I was sending in.
I was however hoping to purchase a couple of new pieces with the money I received from the clothing they sold which was on average 95% of what I sent in.
Unfortunately, I found the pricing and consignment system so convoluted and difficult to comprehend I found every time I made a purchase of two or three items I was spending $60-100!

I sent in a bag full of good items that they sold a great prices and I essentially made $1.00 off of each item they sold. I could've made more at a garage sale. There were even a pair of brand new stylish Crocs with tags in there that I could've sold on EBay for the entire amount I received from ThredUp. I made a huge mistake and I'm totally regretting it.
If you send ANYTHING that you may want back, make sure that you ask for "Return Assurance" on your items. I had a beautiful Coach bag kept by them, stating that they didn't sell that style anymore. I have checked their website many times and they sell the exact same style as the bag I sent in. My bag was in excellent used condition and authentic. They totally ripped me off.
I love to navigate and browse their thoughtful and fun site, and have found some great things, but the prices are now as high as current, new, discount chain stores on most items. Harder to find the gems.
I've sent in a total of 14 bags & hVe yet to see a cent! I can't get s reply from anyone thank God I kept all the high end things at the house! To put on either Poshmart or ebay! However I DID send in slot of clothes & haven't saw 1 penny & it's been almost a month now I hope I see some $$ very soon or else I'm gng to report them!
I have emailed and called (left a message no one answers) about a return of clothing I made about two weeks ago and have yet to receive a response regarding my refund or credit. Not very happy. Wish I read reviews prior to my purchase.
