Have bought and sold three phones on here - feel secure buying and selling with their IMEI check, simple fee structure, and policies that ensure you are know what you are buying! Way better than eBay with the same PayPal purchase protections. Allows me to upgrade more often for less cash and no contracts.
I was a little hesitant to buy an iPhone from Swappa just because I had never used them before. After receiving my phone quickly and as described I can say the experience was a great one from beginning to end. I like the rules that are in place at swappa as it covers some of the concerns of buying online before you even make a purchase.
I just registered a month back to this site (swappa). With in this time I found 4 to 5 great deals on the phones I/my friends wanted and bought all of them at the best price i can ever get in the market. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a mobile. This is a better site for sellers too. As there is no seller fee and no percentage charge on the sale price. Great site for both Buyers/Sellers to buy their loved phones.
My phone got stolen and I needed a new one fast but not too expensive. A friend told me about the site. I found a phone far cheaper than any other place I was shopping. Received it in much better condition than I was expecting. It's working great! Ordered on Friday morning, received Monday in the mail. Very impressed and happy!
So glad I found Swappa! I was in need of a new iPhone after my old one took a swim. Not wanting to change my current phone plan I knew I needed to purchase a used phone. Ebay & Craigslist were costly, confusing, and just didn't feel safe. Luckily I came across Swappa and was able to find exactly what I was looking for and for an incredible value. The website is extremely user-friendly and my transaction went even smoother than expected. I bought a mint condition iphone 6 (it had zero signs of wear) for a couple hundred dollars cheaper than I could find it anywhere else. I definitely intend to use Swappa again in the future - as well as recommend to everyone else!
Swappa is pretty awesome, the staff checks that the phones are reported as lost or stolen and you can return the phone if the seller was dishonest about something they claimed. You can ask the seller questions before you purchase. This makes shopping for a used phone much closer to buying used furniture than a used car. They also provide a higher level of information on the devices (eg exact model numbers and market trends). You can also set email alerts on devices you are interested in. This is really the best way to get a used phone nowadays.
First time using Swappa and I am totally blown away with how easy it was to navigate thru the site and purchase a phone. I really like the idea how the staff at Swappa is actively involved in making sure the transaction goes smooth and how they verify that the item is a real picture from the seller and not just a random internet picture of the item. List a phone. Collect the money and of the go shopping. Below is a picture of a "Mint" Iphone sent to me after I paid $200 for it. The seller stole my money and ripped off the shipper collecting insurance for a phone already broken when he put it in the box. Jon H. Is his name on the site. The Swappa people told me to go blow!
I've used Swappa for years. It's hands down the best place to sell your new and used phones. In my experience, customers are understanding and great to work with. Swappa support team is extremely prompt whenever I've had an issue. Absolutely recommend Swappa!
So i had purchased a phone through a seller on swappa...
I get the phone and try to activate it and my carrier says it's stolen!... the carrier of the phone was at&t and my carrier is cricket. So it should work!
The seller admits in the comments that the phone has been locked out by at&t and can't be activated! But instead of shipping me a phone right away they're waiting for me to send the STOLEN! Phone back!
I contacted Rob from swappa and he acted like he could care less! So not only do they not protect the buyer but they don't care if the crap is stolen!

I think swappa works great if you get a good phone, but if it's defective as mine was be prepared for a huge hassle. After months of trying to get the seller to respond swappa told me that I had to dispute it through PayPal, who at first denied it because the seller responded (after months of not responding to me). After appealing the dispute and dealing with paypal back-and-forth (also not a good experience) I was finally able to get a return address to mail the phone back to get my money back - which I'd been trying to do for months at that point. And even though swappa's policy says that I had to get insurance and ship it back and that the seller will reimburse me, he never did. Huge hassle, lots of time, and out the shipping and insurance money. Ebay has much much better support for their buyers. For swappa, buyer be very beware.
I will never use craigslist, ebay or Facebook market place to buy electronic devices again. So many issues and pitfalls avoided by the way swappa does things. Avoid frustration and doubt and just use swappa.
High fees, usually $10-15 not including paypal and you pay shipping. The customer must "confirm" that they have received their phone before you can be approved for another one, despite the fact that shipping information is listed in the site. So if the buyer never gets around to verifying it, you won't be approved to list another product.
Rose, if you compare our fees against eBay or similar marketplaces, you'll find Swappa has the lowest. The seller is responsible for the device until it is in the hands of the buyer, when it is then up to the buyer to confirm they received the device. This policy helps protect our buyers and our sellers, and is an important step in ensuring the device has been shipped successfully.
I recently purchased a used Galaxy S6 on Swappa and am thoroughly pleased with the entire process. Phone was in excellent shape and the price was more than reasonable. Would highly recommend Swappa to anyone.
Purchased an iPhone 11 Pro Max, seller didn't send the proper charger, I asked for it, he eventually sent a generic one. During this the swappa staff only seemed concerned with me "completing the sale" not me getting the items advertised and paid for in the deal. I've purchased and sold many phone thru Swappa before, this experience was not a good one.
I trust that what I buy on Swappa is what I will receive. This is in stark contrast to eBay and Mercari where you will most likely get a blacklisted phone or not the same phone that was pictured. I've sold and bought on Swappa with no issues. I know this probably won't continue as what good things in life do but if something bad happens I know Paypal will protect me.
I bought a phone on swappa. The buyer sold me a clean ein iPhone but it was a prepaid variety that doesn't work on any normal network. The buyer admitted to this and was going to pay me then back out. Swappa told me to take it up with eBay. All the seller had to do to win the dispute is lie to PayPal and tell them I "Altered the device" Its just a he said she said thing. I informed swappa of this and they refused to do anything about it.
It's always a pleasant experience when I turn to swappa and this time is no different. I found what I was looking for from an awesome seller and the transaction was as smooth as retail without leaving my home.
It's great being able to go to a website and buy a phone that has been reviewed by the swappa staff to ensure it has a clean imei, not on a lease program and that the picture of the phones is the device you will relieve. This was my frost time buying from them and will do so again very soon! Thank you swappa for help taking the guess work out of buying devices!
