Not happy. I have sent 4 boxes of clothes. No stains or holes but got email from Swap.com saying they were in bad condition. I have only seen 6 items for sale from 4 boxes. Website said 300.00 per box is the average sale. I have sold 2 items and they kept that money for shipping costs. Again, where are all the clothes that I sent months ago?
This company is an absolute joke! They will charge you to send them clothes, reject half, sell the other half for a nice amount and by the time they take out all their fees you won't even get back what you paid them to sell. They also don't issue payouts or take care of their customers. You are better off using Facebook or a garage sale to sell your clothes.
The first time I made a purchase on Swap.com, I had won a gift certificate for that site. That was a very positive experience, and I have been buying items from Swap.com ever since. The quality is great, the way they package the items to ship is amazing, and the prices are a blessing for those without much money to spend. It's worth looking into for anyone wanting a break in spending on necessities.
I am enjoying the SWAP.COM site, my virtual shopping experience, gives me the opportunity to make comparisons, hold items in my virtual cart to come back to another day. I received my first order and the clothes were clean, in good/great condition, and were exactly as expected. One top was too small, and when I went to return it, they said keep it, and refunded me the cost. Granted it was just a few dollars, but that's a nice business practice. I'll be a repeat customer for sure.
I found swap.com when I was looking for a low cost option to buy my kids swimsuits for our upcoming beach vacation... I was able to get 6 swim suits for $24... The quality of each item was more than I expected... The packaging was really great and delivered in a timely manner... I cant say enough good things about swap.com
I would normally travel to different thrift store locations in search of brand name office apparel... even more so now that The Limited is gone.:(
HOWEVER - This website saves me the drive and makes viewing each piece sooo much easier! All purchases are 100% refundable and come with a pre-paid return label!
Swap.com has incredible value! Absolutely wonderful product, better than described. Very Fast Shipping. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them! If you have any doubt whatsoever. DON'T. You will love the smooth transaction honestly."

You keep sending me clothes way past their life... balls of fuzz, loose threads, very very worn spots, that should be in the garbage or used for rags... seriously why waste peoples time? Where is quality control... if you wouldn't wear it what makes you think I would. And whatever you spray them with before you ship stinks.
Hello Mike,
We sincerely apologize that your recent purchases were not as you expected. We have a very stringent acceptance criteria that looks at the quality and smell of each item. Our Quality Control team complete audits to ensure we are following these guidelines, so you should not see this happening.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Jen - Swap.com
Everything ERICA said is right. Plus now SWAP.COM became cheap asses with shipping service too, about a year ago it was only UPS and you used to received your stuff 1 or 2 days after ordered. Now it takes forever for you to receive your package, and now they use ups just to drop the packages to USPS at your local post office(Really Disappointed). They shouldn't keep receiving boxes if they cant keep up. I too, getting tired of swap.com. They've become so greedy. Starting January they will start to charge $1.50 per item plus 25% of sales. I am not selling anything anymore due to the same thing(poor business practice) but I bought some stuff last week, and still waiting for. I use ebay now to sell my things. By the way. swap.com sells on ebay too!
Hi Mary!
Thank you for your candid review of Swap.com. We very much appreciate your feedback and I wanted to share some updates about the service. We currently have a new team working to enhance our acceptance criteria and ultimately, make the buying experience easier for you. I can understand your confusion around the NWT (new with tags) and LN (like new) rating. In the near future you can expect to see clearly defined descriptions and ratings. This will hopefully eliminate any confusion and make shopping easy. As for selling, while you are correct about our sellers fee of $1+ 20%, the only instance in which Swap.com will profit more than our seller is when the item is priced at $3 ($1.40/$1.60). In every other instance, the seller will net more than Swap.com. Which we love! An average customer box sent to Swap.com earns $150 in sales proceeds. I would urge you to give us another try. You can reach me personally at matt@swap.com to discuss how to make the most out of your box. I look forward to hearing from you!

Have sole a lot on Swap over the last 2 years with great results... so great that I WAS recommending Swap to everyone. Not any more! Sent 2 boxes of consignment quality items into Swap back in Feb. They finally loaded it into my system in August. Reject a lot of items that I could've made money & consigned locally. Gave me an option to donate the rejects.(. Do they REALLY donate them?!?!?!) They also charged me a $10 "high reject fee". Meanwhile, I've sold about 15 items on Swap & haven't made a single penny since it all went towards the shipping and reject fees. WHAT A TOTAL RIPOFF! I should charge you for holding my items so long that they're now out of season. Sellers beware! Don't bother with Swap. You might as well just give it away... Less frustration & more satisfaction!
Shopping at this online consignment store was not unlike shopping at any other department store's website. All of the item notes were extremely helpful (and accurate upon inspection) with making an informed decision. There was no unpleasant odor when I opened the package which traveled a few days. The prices were very close to similar stores in my area (thrift stores and consignment shops). The return process is promoted in every possible way, to let me know if there is a problem it can be fixed. Tracking on my packages was helpful. Checkout was easy. I've already recommended Swap.com to several people.
I bought alot of clothing here. It comes sealed in plastic nicely packaged. The only thing is to remember some items have been washed dried and shrunk so you order xl but it's a large that comes. Also I put all the clothing in a dryer on high for 45 minutes before wearing it. If theres any lice or bedbugs the heat kills them. Great quality I must say!
I used to like this site, however, my last fee experiences have been bad. I have received damaged items and pieces missing and they refused to do anything unless I could return it. I couldn't because we are not near a UPS, FEDEX etc and was at home with a newborn and 2 other small children without a way to get there. The prices are rather steep too since the clothes are well worn. There were Wal-Mart and Target brand items that cost most used on there than new in the store. They used to have nice coupons but I haven't seen them lately, instead they just have a certain percent off certain items, normally the expensive ones so it isn't actually cheaper. I would proceed with caution if you do shop here and be aware of these things!
Hello Kate,
We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you've had recently in working with us. I would like to address your concerns. Regarding returns, we utilized FedEx as our carrier. We understand you may not have a facility close by. A few options, are that all Walgreen's have a FedEx shipping center in them now, so that may possibly be an option. If that is still not an option, we can schedule a FedEx pick up from your home.
Regarding current promotions, we continue to run continuous promotions. Please watch your email for deep discounts and free shipping days.
We sincerely appreciate your business and truly hope you will give us another try. Thank you for your feedback.
Sincerely,
Swap.com
Like many Americans today, of any adult age, my rent takes up 70% of my Income! The only way I could afford to buy for 17 Great Grandchildren this year was to buy exclusively from Swap.com. The conditions, be it brand new and with tags, or used, are exactly as stated, and except for not knowing how to put batteries in one perfect Interactive Learning Toy for a newborn (I learned how with Swap Assistance, lol) I have been overjoyed with every item ordered! Try it, and many thanks to the families who make extra money selling items on Swap!
This site is good for buyers. Sellers need to beware. I had some new items for sale and I sold a brand new maxi dress for $24 I only receive $2.10 from this site what the f@@@. I have requested that all my stuff be taken down and returned to me can go back to eBay
Swap.com is the best for finding quality secondhand clothes. I've bought from them about ten times now and always have good results (and you can return things that don't work out, which is really handy). Swap usually has lower prices than ThredUp too, which I appreciate. I've never sold clothes through them so I can't comment on that part of their business.

Terrific finds... brands... brands... brands! Recently found this site and have purchased large orders and am astonished at the finds and quality... some with tags still. Great products, packaging, and easy return for store credit if needed. Have returned very few items for off fit or grandkids dislike of style I picked. Prompt customer service when I've had questions. I don't have a printer so they even send the label for any returns by mail when requested. Total confidence in this company. Yay!
I was thinking of giving swap.com a fourth try (I'm not sure why, must be an extremely slow learner). They changed the site but not in a good way. The filters are useless. The options aren't accurate or coherent. Example, type has a mix of actual types of clothing, brand names, strings of symbols that mean nothing. The size options were crazy as well. Honestly, just give it up and close the doors.
I tried buying and selling on Swap.com. If I was buying, it worked great, but as a seller, it was a disaster. We sent in a box of very nice, name-label items and they lost them. I provided everything they asked for as proof that we sent the items. After months of back and forth emails, they stopped responding to me at all. I'm afraid this place may be a rip-off for sellers. Beware!
Hello Victoria,
Could you please submit your inquiry to assistance@swap.com with the title: SiteJabber: Victoria R. We would love to resolve this issue for you, and ensure that you are compensated for your items.
We look forward to hearing from you!
As far as buying, I'd say 3-4 stars. But I just can't recommend sending in used items for them to sell. Looking at my 'rejected' pile of clothing, I saw that there were quite a few items that--I know for a fact--did not have "excessive wear", "stains", or "worth less than $3.00" (matching sets could have been made out of them as per their own guidelines). Wasn't worth it to have them sent back so I had them donate. I could say more but it would be speculation, and I think Brittany's review below is spot on.
Answer: I have only placed one order so far. I ordered 10 blouses. I returned 5, due to size issues. All 10 blouses were nice, but 5 did not fit quite right due to different manufacturer's. You need to get an RMA # for returns. I was promptly refunded my money for the 5 blouses. I would order again in the future. I am not aware of any return quantity restrictions. Hope this helps.
Answer: If you want to sell clothes, all the information is on their website. Basically, they get a percentage and then they pay you thru an existing PayPal account that you set up.
Answer: Hi Patricia, We are on about a 55-60 day delay in processing inbound shipments. When your items are processed, you will be notified via email that they are ready to be priced. Have you sent an email to our support team at assistance@swap.com yet? A member of our team can look up your account information and give you a better idea of exact when you can expect to see your items. Thank you, Lauren Swap.com Support Manager
Answer: Same here, I sent a box in June and have received nothing nothing saying it was accepted or rejected absolutely nothing. I've sent 5 emails and nothing. I will be contacting the better business bureau as well.
Answer: I don't think so. I've sold and from my experience it varies. The things that I thought would sell first, haven't sold yet. It varies by what people are looking for at the time. I've bought all different seasons at random times. I buy by what's a great deal. When selling, group like items together. I've noticed multiple things sell first.
Answer: Hi Jo, That is correct. You can return items that do not fit as long as you request the return within 30 days. We will send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label to send back your return free of charge. Once the return is received, we will refund your card within five (5) business days. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at assistance@swap.com. We are happy to help! Best, Matt
Answer: There's no way for them to go over prices. They have to see the items and determine from going over it, if it's acceptable, once it's accepted, then you have to determine the price you want to sell it for. You could try searching on their site for similar items and see what they are priced at. I did notice when pricing my items that I'd get a little notice with recommended prices, which was very helpful. I didn't have a good experience selling but many others have. Make sure you take pictures of your items, that's very important. I appreciated that their site is set up to allow you to take back your items if you changed your mind about selling them. I'm in the process of getting back my items. Hopefully it works out well and I get all my items back.

Hello JS,
We are sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your seller experience at swap.com. As we continue to improve our inbound processing our acceptance criteria has become stricter to ensure we maintain a quality selection of items that sells quickly. While we try to make a place for all sellers to be profitable we do understand that it is not for everyone. Based on your review it seems as though you sent in several items which did not meet our acceptance criteria and as such you may have incurred additional fees, for having a high reject percentage, as noted when you signed up for a swap.com account. We are sorry to hear that because of this you were not able to make a profit on your latest shipment, and we hope you will give us another try in the future so that you can see how profitable our company can be as a seller.
Best regards,
Swap.com - Patrick C.
