They sent me 5 items which they claim cost $500. Its cheap crap made in China and India. The $148 jacket they sent looks and feels like the liner to a cheap winter coat.
I asked for summer clothes in bright colors for my birthday in July. Not only did it end up being a month late (partially my fault) it was all dark colors and fall clothes. No colors at all!
I was vastly disappointed in how Stitch Fix advertised it's referral program. It claims to offer a $25 credit for referring a friend. The deception, however, is that it REALLY is only a $5 credit. They say that if you purchase an item from your Fix, then the $20 styling fee will apply, is credited towards that item. For example, a $60 item will be $40 after the styling fee credit is applied. That is awesome! Then I look for my $25 referral credit to be applied to the remaining $40 balance, but NOPE. It is not. They say $20 of the $25 referral credit is actually applied to the styling fee. (WHAT?), thus only actually resulting in a $5 discount for referring a friend. ($35 total for item) To me, that is a quite deceptive and shady.
The 2nd reason I give Stitch Fix only 1 star is the prices. Oh my goodness. When I filled out my profile I opted for the least expensive option. My box included, at my request, only tops. In my box were 2 tank tops ($54 and $48), a 3/4 length t-shirt ($54), a cardigan knit ($58), and a long sleeved blouse ($68).
I am very disappointed in their prices and their deceptive advertising.
Will not get another Fix and will not recommend to anyone.
Go to Nordstrom Rack and try things on - - much better bang for your buck.
The worst customer service. Very rude & selfish company. I got charged for products I returned. Very disappointed
The clothes are over priced, not personalized to my requests and often sent exactly what I asked them not to. They schedule fixes that are unwanted and hassle you about canceling.
I started getting Stitch Fix boxes in 2019 and got great fixes until 2021. Most boxes I just kept all to most of it. Since 2021, the quality has gradually gone down until its no better than just cheap cheap merch. I got a fix of 5 items yesterday. I left a note that I am an older 50 year old woman who likes natural fibers esp in Summer, live in Oklahoma, and need tops. They sent 4 tops and a dress. All polyester with one exception. The exception was a Poly linen blend top that was cut so poorly my back fat was exposed and was a size too big anyway so the arm holes hung to nearly my waist. 2 tops were 100 % polyester, in my notes I told them specifically that I dont wear tie fronts so naturally they send one of those as well. One top I did like the style but again 100 % BAD PLASTICY Polyester that sounded like a garbage bag when you touched it. The dress was equally bad if not worse. Stitch Fix used to be known for their soft brushed knit dresses. This wasnt one of them. It was the cheapest polyester and Felt BAD. On top of that, it was a cold shoulder. Im Not 25. Dont try to dress a 50 year old woman like shes 25. I dress age appropriately and not saying dressing any other way is bad but they know I dress this way its in my notes. This company has slid downhill since CEO change. Its very apparant in Quality. Quality is lacking in a significant way. Cheap Polyester. No more soft brushed knit. I DO NOT recommend at the moment. Until Significant changes are made.
I was super excited to receive my first Stitch fix package, I received an email saying my package was delivered I never got it! After the 3 day period I was reminded to checkout or I'll be charged. I kindly reached out to them and they told me it's my responsibility to pay for everything and on top of it they deactivated my account and all future accounts that I try to make. Instead of considering that maybe their carrier made a mistake. I AM FURIOUS I HAVE TO PAY $550 FOR ITEMS I DID NOT GET AND ON TOP OF THEM STEALING MY MONEY THEY BAN ME?!?!?! FOR WHAT FOR SIMPLY LETTING THEM KNOW I DIDNT GET MY PACKAGE.
I have been using Stitch Fix since it first came out. As my closet grew I requested a box less and less. Recently, I only request a box for special events: weddings, special date night, interviews, etc. However while I have gotten nice pieces none of it was what I wanted. I asked for multiple options for an upcoming wedding. My last box had 2 dress options (neither my style) and nice sweater and pair of jeans. Additionally the box had a pair of beautiful maroon boots to match the sweater and jean option. The jeans and sweater were not wedding appropriate! I wish I had gotten other options that were wedding appropriate since that is what I specifically requested. What makes it worse is that the items sent were all items I had said NO to on my stitch preview! So dissapointed and upset as now I will have to go out to find another outfit for the wedding and its less than a week away! I knew stitch fix had gone down hill a bit since the early days but this is the last straw. The same thing has happend to multiple other boxes that I have ordered. They never seem to listen to what I request or look at the preview. I have since tried wantable and so far have had much better luck.
A co-worker suggested this site to me. I absolutely hate to shop so I figured, why not? I was very frank and honest about my likes and dislikes, my preferred colors. I allowed access to my Pinterest and posted clothes that I liked. I wanted work clothes that were "classic" not trendy. I did not want jeans with holes, nothing country. I wanted clothes that could be worn from season to season. I am petite, with small waist but curvy bottom, I range from 4-6 so needed some help with pants and skirts. I live in Florida and wanted lightweight clothes. I stated my clothing budget typically is $150 a month, so the cheaper the better.
First fix-
1) black dress, some sort of cotton, wrinkle free material, boring, but it fit.
2) jeans. Made of some weird stretch, polyester material, with elastic waist
3) blue lace skirt
4) white skimpy very sheer country type top
5) must have been truly awful. Can't even remember what it was
I felt guilty about not liking my fix, so I kept the over priced black dress. $88.00. If I had kept it all it was around $238.00 after my 25% and $20.00 "credit ". I left detailed critique for my stylist, again asking for work pieces, preferably complete outfits, and some color as I had enough blue and black. Nothing country.
Second fix:
1) BLUE cotton lace detail top, sleeveless "country like" $44.00
2) BLUE and white printed Aline skirt, on paper looked like a square, not flattering $78
3) BLUE embroidered crochet like dress. $68.00
4) Pink skinny jeans $98.00!
5) Floral casual top that looks like a bad Hawaiian shirt $36
Total to keep all $223.00.
I immediately put them all in the bag and returned everything and cancelled my automatic shipments. Also got a different stylist who clearly did not read anything about my preferences or my comments from the last fix.
My wardrobe was in serious need of help. Enter Stitchfix. So far it's been a great experience. Lots of great new tops for all those zoom meetings!
Nothing to see here except lost money and clothes that come from China! Avoid! Or you and your Andrew Jackson will soon go different ways.
I received my first box from stitch fix today. I can find much better quality and fit at goodwill! Don't waste your time
This is such a great idea, a professional stylist to help you choose personalized clothing that will look and fit great and save the consumer time in shopping. Obviously, this can not work 100% of the time since the stylist are choosing items for you without ever having met you. It should be expected that items will be returned when they don't work out. If you could send items back for free that would be ok. However, Stitch Fix penalizes the customer when their stylists make an error. They inflate their prices by at least 25% and you only get the true price if you agree to keep all 5 pieces. If items don't work out and you return some, you pay 25% higher prices on what you keep (exceeding the $20 styling fee that is supposedly credited.). This leaves customers feeling cheated. This is sad because some items have been good but I can not overlook that I am being taken advantage of. It's too bad, if they had fair practices I would continue using this service. I've tried them 3 times and will not use them again. Two times there was one item that I didn't really like or feel matched the price they charged but I kept them because of the 25% discount. The last time, 3 of 5 pieces were so obviously a bad style for my body type and skin tone. One of which was a horribly ugly tunic that looked like a nursing smock and would look terrible on anyone. I kept 2 pieces and paid the prices that were inflated by $38.50-- If I'd sent it all back I would have paid $20. I emailed with them about this and they sent very canned response and basically shrugged off my concern. I don't think they'll stay in business long by consistently cheating the customer.
I read a lot of the negative reviews and feel it important to describe a totally different experience. Lindsay did a really good job on my first Fix. The second was also a hit. It looked like she spent time reading my comments and looking at my Pinterest board. She caught my preferences while still challenging my style "rut". That's tricky!. I have really loved 4 out of 5 pieces from both boxes. And I even liked the other two.
I would have gone the rest of my life without putting on another pair of heels. She sent an adorable pair of Wedge sandals that are so comfy, I have even gone for a long walk, worn them all day long, and even my post surgical foot had no pain at all. Second Fix: she sent me a pair of booties, same brand and comfort level as the sandals. The only thing about both pair is that they are vegan. I prefer real leather at that price point, but I did not tell her that. I do think prices are slightly higher than normal in some cases. But I expected that, because this is a business, and I believe this is part of service price for doing legwork, researching my preferences, and putting together looks and styles that make me happy. I have gotten a couple of pieces that I believe could have been higher quality: seams could be more finished inside jacket pockets, one skirt needed to have a better selected fabric for the style of the skirt. But out of 10 pieces, I am overall impressed with my Fixes. Perhaps I got super lucky with getting a very talented stylist. I am very much looking forward to my next Fix. My stylist is a keeper! Season appropriate picks, really flattering pieces that I would have bypassed shopping for myself, and I always receive compliments when I wear any of the pieces Lindsay picks for me. I love that she challenges me while capturing my preferences.
I've used this service before and they sent me the worst clothes ever none of which fit well at all. And the colors were disgusting. Zero stars
I tried for 6 months kept maybe 6 items. Only one or two items still work. I'll spend the time doing my own shopping thank you.
I am not a happy customer with Stitchfix, poor quality fabric and prices too high. No Natural fabric
I really enjoy the idea of this service. I don't like shopping myself and I thought it amazing that I could have someone with more style than I help me with my clothes shopping. Their customer service and returns were always top-notch. I had an order go missing in the mail and they sent me another immediately, no questions asked. Any issue I brought to them was rectified quickly and satisfactorily. I bought from them primarily because it was so easy to order and return items and I could trust their customer service.
However, after having the service for over a year (with hundreds of dollars spent on clothing), I canceled my subscription with a sour taste in my mouth. Despite my detailed notes/requests, I was often sent shapeless, unflattering pieces that I could see my grandmother wearing (I am 25). Sometimes I did receive items I really liked, but often the other picks were just "eh". Whenever I would request to keep a stylist, I would end up with a new stylist anyway. I took the time to leave detailed feedback on every single piece I kept or returned as they recommended, but either I felt that the stylists did not take any of this feedback into consideration, OR they took it to the extreme. I mentioned in one note that my favorite color was olive green and after that everything they sent me was that color... come on, I don't need everything I own to be only ONE color!
Not too long after they opened the online shop I quit the subscription. I continued to purchase items that I specifically chose. It was around this time that I found that the clothing I had purchased in the fixes - jeans, shirts, shoes - was just not holding up. The items I got were very, very poor quality. I would expect $45 shirts and $80 jeans to last longer than a $5 fast-fashion blouse from Ross. I no longer buy from Stitch Fix at all because the quality was a massive disappointment. The service is simply not worth it for the price.
My stylist is great with variety and matching pieces. Please give accurate measurements for a great fit!
Answer: Credits are applied during checkout, not while you browse or put stuff in your cart.
Answer: No. The COMPUTER will then select pieces to replace those in the fix. The stylist is then locked into these choices. They might have a couple items the computer picks to choose from like we do when we preview, but they do not go and pick items. So if you request color and specific fabrics (no polyester) but the computer comes back with neutrals and a polyester jacket, that's what they will choose from.
Answer: They want you to pay them, even when you decide not to use them. The feel since they are in the UK, American laws don't apply to them. So they will charge you for there mistakes.
Answer: They make you buy the clothes and they will keep your card in file until you pay them.
The company has garnered mixed feedback, with some customers appreciating the quality and fit of the clothing, particularly for specific styles that resonate with their personal tastes. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, particularly the difficulty in canceling subscriptions, unresponsive support, and billing issues. Many customers express frustration over receiving items that do not align with their requests, leading to dissatisfaction with the overall shopping experience. This disconnect between customer expectations and service delivery suggests a need for improved communication and operational efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction.
