These people are scammers. The information that o was able to obtain from then I could have easily found myself. You do not get in-depth information but worst than all of that I'd they pull you in on this "Free Trial" saying is you cancel within 7 days you won't be billed. Seeing that I was able to determine instantly that this site was not going to provide me with the information I needed. I immediately canceled my " Free" Trial per their instructions. I actually canceled using 2 separate measures just to be sure my cancellation was received. Fast forward today (day 8) I get notification that a charge to Spokeo just hit my account for $24.95
I immediately call Spokeo and they say I will be happy to cancel your membership for you and you will refer I'm no additional charges from us.
I say well that's great but I'm more concerned about the charge that has already been made even though I canceling my Trial the very day I signed up for it.
Then she says "I am showing that you still have 98 more searched you can make at no cost" I said I don't want ANY searches I want my money back for the monthly subscription you charged me even though I canceled! She then says I don't see where "I've " documented any cancellation for you. I said so you are the one sole person who works in service? How about any of the other reps? Are you telling me that none of them received my cancellation as well? She then says... "Well I can credit you back $9 of what you were charged " I said oh really you would do that? You would credit me back a quarter of the amount that you charged me for a trial subscription that I canceled the same day, well before my Trial was over? I told her that the company was deceitful and they are scamming people that are in a vulnerable place.
She said let me put you on hold for a minute and see whst I can do.
She comes back in less than a minute and says $24.95 has been credited back to your account.
Shocking.! I would never use this company nor would I recommend anyone else to

I had to call today because I had a 7-Day trial I had to look my name up and remove from my information off of this site because I do have stalkers and people are harassing I didn't even use the whole 7 day trial I used it for like an hour and then when I went under my account settings I canceled it apparently it didn't cancel appropriately I called today someone thought they were being slick taking a full $24 out of my bank account which overdrew me at 3 in the morning but honestly it was up at 3:00 in the morning watching their bank account anyway I had to call a customer service representative the woman said it's about a day Taft d 7 day trial but she will work with me and she gave me $9 back well I didn't even use a service and it wasn't even correct information like I thought it was so why can't you give me my full $20 back how dare you keep plus the $20 for information that wasn't correct and that I really canceled but apparently it didn't go through on their end I'm highly distraught and upset because that money needs to be put back into my bank account because my bank is a bunch of jerks and they charge $33 per overdraft

FINAL UPDATE: Updated my review to 3 stars because they actually did refund me. Not sure if they would have if there wasn't evidence through paypal. I have no anger towards anyone who works for Spokeo, but more so the business model and whoever's idea it was. The customer care was decent and when I explained everything and asked for a refund they actually gave me one. Took about 3 days. Don't file a dispute with Paypal, contact the customer care service. As for how well this works? Meh, I'm not sure about these sites in general and see other reviews. Never again will I use spokeo or probably any similar site. People seemingly don't get much info out of these while some do. If you use this, make sure to immediately cancel the automatic charge of $24.95 when that 7 day trial is over or you'll be out of that for however long. The whole experience was unsatisfactory minus when they actually gave me my money back. Maybe it was just my, and some other people's experiences, but sorry Spokeo. Never again will I use your service most likely. Maybe consider the whole automatic charge thing without people knowing and you might not get so many bad reviews.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: Same as everybody else. Paid 0.95 cents to look up one number and next thing you know you're charged 25 dollars and they refuse to refund you. Paypal can't even help in this situation, because believe me I tried. Once they take that 25 dollars out, they don't care. This is how they make their money. I looked them up on google to see if they were a legit company and trustworthy, but I'm wondering if the sites that said these things were paid to do so. Don't bother. And if any spokeo representative responds to this, don't bother unless you're planning on refunding me. I don't care otherwise. I don't want to use the site for the rest of the month. The site doesn't even work. I want my money back. How this site and business is still going is beyond on me but I'm not surprised considering they get their business out of cheating people. I will update my review or take down this negative one if the situation is made right. I just contacted their live chat and told they will contact Paypal and plan to refund me the $24.95 and it should take up to 14 days. But we'll see if they actually follow through.

Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
