Paid $4.95 for a reverse phone lookup, I obviously had the number. The site stated that it had the info that I needed. All I wanted was the name of the person's phone number.

The information available was limited at best. I cancelled the 7 day trial almost immediately then a month later I got some random charge for $14.95 for a service that was apparently connected and offered a 30 day trial. Then when I tried use that service to see what it was and to cancel it I couldn't even log in or retrieve my account information for the service. Had to call the customer support at Spokeo and have them transfer me. Painless enough but kind of hassle. I'd call the whole thing deceptive.

The 30 day trial you are referring to is an identity theft protection provider, and offers 30-day free trials through a promotion on our website. Since many customers tend to mistake us for them, sometimes charges will be incurred.

I wanted to do a reverse phone lookup. I got sucked in because once I input the phone number, their web site responded that they had all the relevant information I was looking for: Name, Address, Family members, Date of Birth, etc. Once I paid my money and clicked on the report button, all of those fields showed up with "Unknown" beside them except for the location field for the phone number, which I already knew because you can find that out by simply looking up the area code. Stay away. Should have looked at reviews first. This is an ugly, ugly scam. Just glad I didn't sign up for one of there monthly accounts; at least I hope I didn't. You never know with crooks like this.

Terrible site that failed in every search I did. They only refunded a small amount of what I paid because I did 3 searches which were all a dead end with no results. I wish I'd read the reviews before I signed up. Do not bother with this site, it's completely useless.

If I could give this site NO stars, I WOULD!
I,(like a few others on here), didn't look around for reviews about Spokeo, before giving my card number. I just tonight, looked at my bank statement and I was charged $14.95 by BZShark that I have NEVER heard of or signed up for, on my bank statement. I did some research about BZShark and it lead me right back to spokeo. I had an account with spokeo MONTHS ago and closed it out, but apparently, now I am being charged again by BZShark. It's now too late to call, but I WILL be on the phone with spokeo bright early in the morning demanding answers about this. Do NOT sign up or give ANY money to this scam company. If you already did, check your bank statements!

In fact, a disclaimer is provided, which needs to be agreed upon by actually clicking on the check box. Should you wish to decline this offer, they provide a chance to opt of the offer very easily.

Absolute corrupt garbage. I have sent emails and called for the a refund on the number they searched told me they had found the user but revealed absolutely no information on the client.
I have called Visa and am working to get a refund - please call Visa and not Spokeo - get this Visa privileges revoked - hit them in their wallet where they hit you!

This company provides poor service. Look up 5 numbers. You want find what you want on 3 of them. They tell you one price. They charge you another price. Their free trail period is not free. I can't believe that I paid these scamers for a 1 year subscription. Wish that I had found this website first and looked at the reviews. They claim "guaranteed results" well guess what... 9 out of 10 phone number searches came back as UNKNOWN. Guess that is my "guaranteed result". We don't know who it is. I canceled after 10 minutes of that crap. False advertising!

Terrible, Terrible! Fortunately I didn't pay any money. I checked my 13 year old son's phone number in the Spokeo system to see what came up. It provided the partial info for someone in Livermore. Ok-the phone number is only a month old so maybe it's showing the old owner's info. So I put in my number, which I have had for 10 YEARS and it came up at a Livermore (different address) location. If I had paid for this info I would be furious.

We signed up, but the site didn't have a phone number for our inquiry, even though before sign up the site's response to a search said, "look up phone number," for the person we searched, leading us to believe a number was found. When the money was paid, the site then said, "No phone number available." That's deceptive! We were trying to tell a son that his father had just died, but couldn't until we finally just googled the man and found a phone number right away. Way to go. Subscription cancelled!

This site is terrible. I signed up for the 3 month subscription, and only after I performed a few searches was I informed of the "monthly quota." I was attempting to search for people for my high school reunion, so I needed more than the few searches allotted, and nowhere are you told before signing up that there is a limit.
When I spoke to customer service, they sent me through the generic support cycle, and kept indirectly blaming me for not understanding the services correctly (much like their comments on other posts here). "I'm sorry you don't understand the terms" is not an appropriate response to a customer complaint. It's patronizing and offensive.
If you were a reputable company, you would clearly place your terms upfront, to allow people to choose whether your service is right for them or not. Get it together, Spokeo.

Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
