Spokeo sucks you in by indicating that it has found information on the owner of an email address, which it will show you if you pay them. Then it turns out they haven't actually done any search at all until you pay them, and they in fact have no information. Meanwhile they have collected your money and your email address and contact info which they can sell to other people.
I have been using Spokeo for years now. Wouldn't be without it and use it frequently. Those that complain do not understand limitations of online companies like Spokeo. Spokeo is not perfect but it works for me. I find it necessary for my business and feel fortunate they are providing a vital service by Spokeo's very existance.

Don't sign up for the free weekly trial because even if you unsubscribe you will be billed $24.95 and you will not be refunded for this payment.
Customer service started to pretend they couldn't hear me on the phone ("Hello? Are you still there?") when I questioned this and asked for a refund, isn't this something teenagers do when they do something shady?

You will be billed for $19.95 whatever opt outs you choose. Customer service refunded half of this but I'll contact my bank about this charge. Very polite to me but a sleazy operation. How much do they take in before you realize this charge?

When you signed up you selected our Single Search with Premium Trial plan, which provided you with an initial $0.95 Single Record as well as additional free Premium access for 7 days. As long as the trial is cancelled within 7 days, the account does not continue. Because your trial was not disabled within 7 days, a recurring subscription fee began to charge. Accounts of this type automatically renew if left active to prevent any service interruption. We try to make this very clear by detailing this on our payment page, including it in the disclaimer which has to be agreed to before the purchase is processed. In addition, the information is included in the confirmation receipt sent immediately after payment, as well as in our Terms of Use. I do apologize again if this was unclear in any way.

It's easy to find out whether or not you have a legit person at the other end of the number when I have the ability to search every number that isn't in my contact list. I've been able to get information pertaining to any number that texts or calls and therefore I know whether or not it's a real person at the other end of a line and that is what I need to combat all the fakes and spam.

I like a lot of people, signed up to use the $0.95 one time trial. A few days later, Spokeo stole 24.95 from my account. When I called and demanded a refund, he was very polite and nonchalant saying a refund of 9.95 would be sent back to my card. Upon throwing a massive fit I was told I would receive my full refund. Its been 5 days, no refund yet. Beware before using this site.

I paid $19.95 for what was supposed to be an "enhanced" report. All I got was the person's addresses (the current one was not even correct) along with several pages of neighbor information for past addresses. None of this information is helpful or useful, and it can be accessed quickly and for free online without paying for a report. I will say, though, that the customer service representative was pleasant and professional despite not being able to help me or give me a refund.

Great price point for monthly service. For the most part I'm able to find the relevant information I need for my purposes. Occasionally there is missing information between relatives and addresses that I have confirmed via other means. But overall it is a very easy to use platform and very cost-effective. Tried to use this service to try to find information on an old friend. Information I received seemed suspect so I tried it using people I did have info on. What I got back was absolute garbage. For example, it showed my current address at a location where I had not lived for 14 years. It provides email addresses that are dead links. This service is a total scam. Do not use it.

Accuracy on this site is nonexistent. Doing a search for my name does bot show my name, but does show me as my youngest son who is 35 years old. And his name is not the same as mine. As far has this site is concerned I don't exist.
And my oldest son, the junior, has two listings, one of which lists his age as 5 years older then he really is.
Searching my address shows people who have never even lived in my city as living here.
Like most of these sites the search results are not reliable

I just searched for a high school friend and Spokeo came up in the results. Being curious, I looked at the profile and it had him living at the address I was familiar with and his correct age as it would be this year. Unfortunately, he murdered a woman and committed suicide about 17 years ago and hasn't lived at that address since about 1973. Great going, Spokeo!

Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
