This site is easy to use and reasonable in cost, while providing enough information to made searches worthwhile. I have been able to locate people whom I had not seen in a long time with such searches.

They took my money and gave me a PDF of 1 page said essentially nothing!
They showed all the records available and did not provide any of them in the enhanced report they took the money for and then added insult to injury by requesting I join at like $30.00 a month! I am going to blog these thieves into the ground! They take me to Court... I welcome it! Even if they win, they get nothing, as; I have nothing to them to get! And I will have people there in court to witness the thieves in action! Make my day! I am getting my money back or a piece of them!

I did 5 searches on Spokeo -- all inaccurate! The cell phone I've had for 8 years is listed under another person in another city. My former land line is listed under my ex husband and we've been divorced for 16 years, and HIS phone number that he has had for 16 years is also listed as belonging to someone else. Don't do it! SO wish I'd read the reviews first.

This company's disclosures regarding the use of its service are not clear at all. I used the service to obtain a quick reverse look up of a number. Then, you are automatically signed up for a 7 day trial. However, I never received any type of email regarding such. Apparently, it is buried in the long customer agreement.
Of course, when I called to question the $19.95 charge, the representative informed me that I was now a monthly subscriber, since I did not cancel within the 7 day trial period. Of course, they kept my $19.95.
This company needs to be much more transparent. At a minimum, it should send you an email that your 7 day trial period is about to expire.
I will never do business with this company again and will be certain to share this with everyone.

Spokeo membership is a scam. They charge more than the original fee quoted. It was very difficult to cancel membership. They "lose" the account information, but are quite capable of taking money from my account.

My main problem with Spokeo is twofold: the first being the fact that you must pay a subscription fee PLUS extra feed for any substantial information. The second reason being i dislike anyone who pushes you into giving a review the trick of a" pop-up" window that won't go away until you get that review to them. That is how I got on this site. I think this is a form of marketing blackmail.

This company is a scam operation. Avoid at all costs! I entered a search query, which takes you through an impressive 'search' graphic, reporting that it is searching "Billions" of files and that it has found thousands or results related to your query. It then charges you a 'Special Price' to give you the results of your search. Firstly, the search produces NOTHING in relation to your query, and, way more importantly, you later discover that you have been subscribed to a MONTHLY subscription plan of $29.95, that they ensnare you into in the small print, and never email or contact confirming your subscription. In fact, unless you check your Bank Account, you'd never know you're being scammed every Month for it. Disgusting, disgraceful tactics that net them millions. They know they're disgusting and disgraceful, but all the time they collect money from unsuspecting victims, they'll continue.

Like many others, I signed up to find out that I could not open the ordered report but was charged the $49.95. I called customer service and was told that I would need to install an updated browser to see it. I did this and still no access. I called back and I asked to cancel the service. They would do so but kept $9.95 stating that they could see the report so it was not their issue. A real rip-off. There are other options but all of these services make their money on the up charges to get any data once you have already paid the initial fee. Keep away from Spokeo and all the rest and seek out an individual investigator for this service.

I fell for the free trial. Thought that I cancelled it. Never got another email about continuous charges to my account. Never ever give these guys your account # unless you are vigilant about checking all charges. I get a hundred charges a month due to travel and finally noticed the sneaky charges. If they were legit they would have seen I NEVER used it but for the 1st time and instead they just took the money and ran. Criminals!
I do many things via internet and have for years. Spokeo is the only company that I can recall that does not send a notice/email when a card is about to be charged... or at least has been charged already (i. E. a receipt).

Everything here is true, first search gave info after that charged for everything requested as if I was not a subscriber - rip off stay away. Added Sept 12,2016. The business comment below my original post sounds reasonable. But the site does not advertise honestly and clearly. The deception lies in the fact that I paid for a service to give me the SAME results each time as I got on my first search after I paid for a subscription. I tried three times later on during my subscription period and each time they wanted more money for what I already had paid for previously. Problem with that.

I used this website to find my family when, I was sold on the 95 cent charge.
They stated that after a month I would be charged a fee after my trial expired...
I used it a week ago.
I literally only have 10 dollars left on my bank account.
I do understand that this year has been dentrimental to the economy, I'm feeling it in my stomach myself...
But that doesn't justify taking money out of the account without asking first.
I barely make a living.
This joke of a company seems to do this to a lot of people.
I had to buy a new phone and already owe money asking it from a friend.

When I provide an email address if it pulls nothing then don't say you have a full report and charge. The answer is you don't have anything. Bold faced lie to say you have a report when you don't. I checked myself on spokeo and a couple other people who I am current on their actual address and contact info and the information I received back on myself was way off. Old phone numbers. Many numbers I never had. Places I lived wrong. It isn't current, it showed me living in an area I lived five years ago. It showed my ex husband as living where I live now. It lists wrong people as relatives. As far as my friends I checked out too the same applied to them as well. It's a rip off.? Not worth the money

Pretends it is $4.95/mon as if you can get one month - would be reasonable. Then you get a bill for $29.70 and it claims a min of 6 month. Stupid company. Look at the 1-stars (if I could give negative, I'd give negative 5). No matches of any worth whatsoever on the one email I was looking for -- I'd pay $5 for a decent piece of info and re-use the site if it did THIS. But the scam they are using? I hope they all go broke and to jail.

I agreed to pay 95 cents for one look up. I foolishly gave them my credit card and the next thing I knew I had run up a year of $19.95. I though this was a charge my wife made which is why it slipped by us for a year. We called to cancel but BE CAREFUL and track your credit card charges carefully.

I paid for a reverse phone look up. They took my money. They provided zero information just a link to try to trick me out of more money. I called. They told me my credit card didn't go through. When I replied that I had a receipt in my email, they put me on hold and never came back. Complete and total scam. DO NOT USE.

This company provides poor service. Look up 5 numbers. You want find what you want on 3 of them. They tell you one price. They charge you another price. Their free trail period is not free. Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
