As you will notice in other reviews, Spokeo turns a one time $. 95 charge into a monthly subscription fee. I might not have minded if I had received an e-mail saying my "free week" (or whatever it was) was expiring and I will be auto charged using my previous payment method. Yes Spokeo, you beat me out of $25. Congrats. You have been around for a while so clearly the model must work. However, just because you can do it doesn't mean you should do it.
Just as The title suggests the site makes users believe that it's uncovering a mountain of data yet when it shows the report there's nothing there's not even one social media account but it scans for 15 minutes and I sat through it all it's just a huge waste of time if you're really trying to find useful data. Also the trial that you're given doesn't allow you any access to anything it's it's fake I don't believe in it and there's nothing there's nothing that I gained from sending out for the trial it was a complete waste of my time and i gained nothing

This site is a rip off. They fraudulently overcharged me to begin with then had a sister company called Biz shark continue to bill my account long after the contract ended. I am going to sue them for fraud. I would NEVER recommend this company

I did a few searches and they were a waste of money. Be careful of the teaser rate. If you don't cancel within the teaser period the company will start charging your credit card with no monthly invoices or any other notice. The customer service representative said the terms of the contract were sent by email. I never saw it and they did not provide any evidence that the charges were authorized. Your best bet is never to get involved with this company in any way.

Recently I tried to purchase some data by paying 1 time fee(even it was failed, no service delivered to me), but this fraud company had setup a recurring without showing the same to me. And they were able to bill me twice, till I notice and cancel it. People be aware of it and stay away from this cheater. If you make a purchase, they automatically set you up for monthly withdrawals which I never wanted. When I contacted customer service, they did not refund the whole amount only a small portion. I called the same day the deduction was taken, so I didn't use any points etc. so they should have refunded all my money. BE CAREFUL when making any purchase. SAD. Wish I'd looked here first... I paid for a. 95 1 time search and know I was conscious as to whether it was a one-time or trial and then you'll be billed sort of thing, I chose the one-time option with intention. This morning my bank statement had a $24.95 charge. I called to request a refund and was told they could only refund $9.95. I begged, immediate circumstances are such that every penny matters and that they wouldn't budge, so not cool. Not like I waited a week, I called the morning it hit my bank. Not happy. They suck.

I just viewed a report on myself and I am shocked by the amount of data that is wrong. Major things such as my date of birth is wrong, my current and previous addressed are not only wrong but I have never lived at the addresses listed on this report. Almost all of the relatives listed are related to my ex-husband that I have been divorced from for 25 years. There is nothing listed in this report that would be of any benefit considering all of the data is not accurate.

I did not know I signed up for a subscription but read the email and accepted that I had. I immediately terminated to avoid future charges, however I am somehow still being charged for a subscription. I logged in just to see if I had made an error and ever spokeo shows my subscription as "expired" and not active. Yet they still continue to charge my account monthly.

Make sure you read the fine print! There is NO one time fee. In my case I was charged 0.99 for one number look up. Then offered 24.95 for full report which I declined. Guess what one week later I was charged 24.95 as a recurring monthly charge.
When I called they explained there was a free 7 day trail and then automatically converted to monthly service for 24.95. I cancelled that but was out one month. Total BS

I've been the victim of credit card fraud one too many times, so I decided to find out who is responsible since the card companies can't be bothered. Guess what, these jokers won't let me investigate the people who stole my credit card! When I put that I wanted to use it to investigate credit card fraud, they said think you very much your money has been refunded! Good that I verified the location of the address before I gave them my info so I can report that with the phone number.

Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
