Dishonest at best
February 13, 2020

Had a $10 increase on the 1st month of activation due to fees I flat out asked about in store and online. It was $45 before taxes and fess was great, but my bill is over $65. I can understand a $10 dollar activation fee but I was lied to about the other $10. This is my first month and they are the only internet provider in the area fml.

They have absolutely horrible customer service 1st off and they lie to their customers. I was told i would recieve a credit for $52 when there was a miscommunication between what was supposed to be done and when. They said it would appear on my next billing statement so i waited. Well it never appeared on my account which i waited a month for! So i called to check on it and was told that they will not be giving me the credit after all! That their employees who told me that told me wrong! Umm excuse me! This company is completely bull! I was told by 2 people that i would be getting the credit so ultimately they lied to me! I am so happy I no longer pay for any services with this horrible company!

Crooks!
February 5, 2020

After battling endlessly with Spectrum about charge for box i returned soon after buying my own i was issued a refund by debit card issued by third party crooks. Unfortunately i misplaced card and just found it. It expired 7 months ago.
I thought whats the big deal and called debit card company. They wanted to charge me "maintenance fee" of $3 a month meaning instead of refund i owe them! They created bogus account without my request or approval
How about it? Spectrum could write me a check. Naaaa, they let other crooks steal refund.
Keep in mind and know who you are dealing with

On Demand... Maybe
February 1, 2020

When a movie that was supposed to be available "On Demand" only played the first 20 minutes of the movie and after 3 phone calls and 2 "tickets" supposedly started their ultimate solution for this problem was to remove the movie from the list of available "On Demand" movies while blowing smoke up... well, you know where. They also have raised our bill every 2 or 3 months since taking over TWC. The only other option here is satellite... and they know it.

Spectrum Internet. Please think about it 10 times before having their services! They state that they bill in a "per monthly basis," and they change this recently too! I never signed nor accepted this terms, even if they are in the bill in "small letters."Anyways, per monthly basis like thet call it, means that even if you have to move on the 1st of the month, if you used service for that "one day!" you have to pay your entire month rate that you usually pay (from the 1st-the 31st of the month). For example: $100, if that is usually what you pay, you will pay, Instead of paying for that 1 day that you use! How ridiculous and nonsense. Even after speaking to the CEO, "Mike," he wasted my time and said he could not do anything and that he could not do anything about my slow services either. One time they offered to send a technician for a fee, to just troubleshoot. Really (I can do that myself)! That's the excuse he gave me. A company that has tons of money becomes even more rich with unfairness and unjust policies! How disappointed I am of this company. They even offered me phone and tv services... Can you imagine, if they're already unfair and terrible to the customers with just internet, I could not stand to be with them for other services. (0 stars rating if I could)!

This involves a Spectrum account that was in the name of a man who was married to my 93 year old Mother. He passed away in December 2019. After seeing a bill of his from Spectrum at my Mother's the first of this year I realized her phone and internet service was also tied to Spectrum so I called them in an effort to see what had to be done to drop his cable service and keep the internet and phone service for my Mother - she is very hard of hearing and needs the internet service to be able to use her CapTel phone so she can read the call conversation. I advised Spectrum of his death and the need to discontinue his cable TV service - even offered to ensure the equipment was returned, which I did. The agent helped me ensure my Mother would have phone and internet and set the account up in my name and advised of the new reduced amount. There was never any conversation about any continued cable TV billings so I was very surprised to receive a $244.86 bill in my name. I recontacted Spectrum and advised the above and was told that by assuming his account I assumed his billing which was for the service period 12-24 to 1-22. I cancelled the TV service the first week of Jan. I advised I was never told I was assuming his service or given the option of establishing new service nor was I told I would be responsible for his bill after his death. I asked for an adjustment and was not only turned down but advised the account is delinquent and without paying that outstanding balance her other services could be turned off. I also received a delinquent notice and have not even had an account in my name with them for 3 weeks and it even has a late charge on it! Spectrum is threatening to shut off service for a 93 year old hard of hearing woman who recently lost her husband who lives by herself and her only means of communicating with anyone if I don't pay the bill of a deceased person I am not even related to and never agreed to assume. I think their actions go beyond poor customer service and their sales associates should not be allowed to operate in such a deceptive manner.

This is the worst company and an absolute rip off and scam. We disconnected our services and two months later received another bill. We were told they could not disconnect our services because we still had their equipment, which was actually our personal modem bought from Best Buy. We told them we were not giving them our modem and to stop billing us. Then they sent a technician to our house unannounced one night to either collect the equipment or reconnect our services. We told him the situation and he looked at our account it clearly said "customer owns modem" and he apologized and said he didn't understand why they sent him out. Long story short, they continued to add to the bill they said we owed and eventually sent it to collections. I have no less than 10 tickets opened with their customer service support team over the last five months without a single call back or resolution, and we were essentially robbed for keeping equipment that we personally purchased to use with whatever company we chose. Cleary, that will NEVER be spectrum again. Complete rip off and blatant robbery. Do not use this company unless you like wasting time and money.

BEWARE OF SPECTRUM
Spectrum are all crooks!

Recently canceled your service, was told my amount due as a final payment was $9.99 which I paid it and now being told is not that but $147.81 in which you can not provide a bill/proof what the $9.99 is for then as was originally told.

Talked to a few people on the phone already and no one can show what this is for.

I was recently even told on my last phone call by a manager that it was a late fee. That is NOT even possible when the recent statement I just got is not even due yet. This proves once again that you lie and have no clue.

I was also told by this same person to pay the $380.81 for another bill I received charging me for unreturned equipment which I returned in person and have receipts for. Another proof that you have no clue and can not care less.

According to what I was told by an online chat person via your website support, on January 20, was my amount due is $9.99 and what it said when I log on to my account was clearly

"Your account is no longer active. Please make your final payment below".
$9.99

I have in writing this information snd when I accessed the account on January 22 it shows amount due $0.00, do as far as everything I have been provided I am paid in full, with a zero balance.

If you send me to a collection agency I will dispute this as incorrect and use all the proof I have.

I will not recommend your service to anyone and will tell everyone to stay away and the horrible experience I had dealing with you.

They are better off dealing with another company.

BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!
January 21, 2020

I like them before spectrum came over. Worst reps that don't do their jobs or help. Then change prices and charge you when it's unfair. Don't be duped and stay away from these thieves!

The first of the year a new service contract went into effect at my mother's condominium complex. I called to order the equipment for her. After waiting 25 minutes on hold, a customer service rep told me the equipment would be shipped out. She was suppose to receive a TV box, modem, and wireless router. All she got was a TV box and router. No modem. Once again I called customer service. On hold again. Explained the situation to the customer service rep. Modem was suppose to arrive in 5 to 7 working days. Never showed up. Called again. Was told there was no record of the previous call. Once again was told the modem would arrive in 2 to 3 days. NEXT DAY, box arrived with another ROUTER! No modem. Called today, and customer service rep NICK, said a technician would deliver the modem tonight between 5 and 6pm. We'll see.

UPDATE: Spectrum tech arrived at 5:50 pm., with modem, and set it up. Took about an hour. Went home and poured myself a double.

DVR Pathetic
January 16, 2020

I DVR daily. The Spectrum DVR is pathetic. I could not rely on the tuner for accurately record. This is a common problem with Spectrum DRV customers. Their introductory bundle price is excellent BUT there is a reason for that. Also, Spectrum, Time Warner, Charter, whatever else they call themselves, Customer Service is substandard. I will NEVER have Spectrum again. I've gone back to bundle DISH and Windstream for phone and internet. I had no problem with Spectrum phone and internet. Customer BEWARE of Spectrum TV and DVR service. Twice burned!

Unethical Billing
January 16, 2020

Unethical to charge a month in advance when service is disconnected because "that's the policy." I was moving and asked to have service disconnected three days into the new billing period. Two different phone conversations and no way to pro-rate a bill. I paid for a month of service I could not use because I was moving and that was after a full year of service. I will never do business with this unethical company again.

Welcome to Spectrum, King of the Bait and Switch. When I went into the store to change my service, the counter rep "offered" me free service for a trial period. When that trial period expired, my bill magically went up (without notice). So, I called Spectrum in December to have the service removed, and they told me my account would be credited for the amount I was charged due to the change in service. Today, I got my bill and the charge still is on there. When I called Spectrum today, they told me they never give such credits, the credit was not in my file, and the Customer Service representative LIED to me back in December! So, they are going to overcharge me, reprimand the poor Customer Service representative who told me she gave me the credit, and offer me their apologies. This is a bunch of bull. And the worst thing is they have a monopoly, so if I actually want to watch television, I am stuck with this crappy company. If I could rate them a 0 Star, I would but the website would not let me.

I have ZERO problems paying my bills online and have been doing it forever. However, with Spectrum, to manage your account online you have to jump through several hoops and verifications. Its ridiculous. I spent 45 minutes trying to "manage" account online. Still unable to do. Kept being referred to verify yourself several times. JOKE! I dislike company too. I cannot wait for year to be up to cancel. No voice remote either.

I was with Time Warner for 3 years. Never had an issue, never needed a service call, no outages, Internet was fine. Spectrum took over, raised the bill every month, and services started sucking. Internet would drop 4-6 times a day, picture pixilated, and froze. Call them, reboot receivers,
Modems, routers... nothing. Present day I am paying $260 a month for the same services I was paying $140 for, I have had at least 30 Tech visits, they have replaced parts on the pole, replaced every line to the house, replaced every piece of equipment in my house, and right now I'm sitting here with no internet watching a frozen screen on my new humdinger 4K (they don't offer) TV. Latest Tech says "it's old equipment (on the pole) and the outages are because spectrum is "running more through the lines than Time Warner was". Got that? This was better than the last answer of "it's due to weather changes". This was also the dude who replaced a "rusted bolt" on the pole. Because hell wtf not! Makes no difference. I call them. If I cancel my tv service and just keep internet? Jumps from $44 ("introductory bundle rate")'to $75. I am not in an introductory rate. If I was it would have come up yeeeeeears ago when I signed up with them. Customer service frankly could give a $#*!. Sorry about your bad luck essentially. So I can switch to satellite (my only option) and keep their bull$#*! overpriced intermittent internet or stay with them and call 2-3 times a day and have a technician out to say "don't know". I have never been this mad. What a total bull$#*! company.

If I could leave this review without putting a star I would not have even given it one their automated system to pay bills never works and they charged over $5 to pay it with the representative. Since their system doesn't work they should waive that fee. Their customer service is very poor and they do not tell you about special offers that you can get very unhappy with this company it was good one charter owned it but spectrum is awful and so are their employees had a question about my cell phone and they kept transferring me to the same Department who kept saying they could not help me I decided not to go with them for cell phone and am currently looking for another internet and TV company

Asked about upgrading my internet and was told that I would be charged a one time $49.99 on top of $25.00 extra per month. The equipment I have is capable and I am a former system technician so I know that if they are doing the PMI on the system that is required to meet regulatory standards it is capable. For now I am keeping my $50 and my $25 a month (plus taxes and fees not mentioned in spite of my request for TOTAL price).
