The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to poor customer service and escalating costs. While some users acknowledge stable service performance at times, many express frustration with frequent outages, billing inconsistencies, and unresponsive support. Common complaints include difficulties in service cancellations, lack of transparency regarding equipment ownership, and inadequate resolution of issues. The sentiment is largely negative, with customers feeling undervalued and misled. This feedback indicates a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service practices and address billing transparency to enhance customer satisfaction.

I spoke to spectrum person and she wasn't caring. She was rude. My bill double in 2 years. That is not right. I told her it isn't right that new customers pay lower fee. She stated that they charge lower fee in hope that they continue service when their year is up. Whatever your fee is when you start with them plan on in 2 years it will double in cost. They don't care that they are working with a senior either. This company is not senior friendly.
Repetative commercial about the second line free is SO ANOYING and telling customers to be unreasonable negates complaints about poor service. Doesn't sell!
The 1 star goes out to some of the service reps have been so kind and helpful over the years. However the company BADLY needs a revamp. I was stuck with them for over 3 years because they were the only company that offered wifi in my area. But let me tell ya, the minute I could cancel, I did. First off, they send you the whole "package" to get started, but don't tell you you'll still need to buy more equipment in order to connect, or "rent" it from them for a higher monthly price. No-go. I didn't give them the satisfaction of trapping me in a higher monthly rate, so I went to the store and bought the equipment. Once I was connected, it was the incessant phone calls trying to convince me to bundle more subscriptions. When I told one lady that I don't watch enough TV to justify their subscription, she laughed and told me she knew I wasn't being truthful. Bro. I was in grad school. The periodic netflix sitcom while I wrote a paper was few and far between. Don't try to "catch" me in a lie just because your business tactics are distrustful. You're projecting.
Second, my monthly "no-contract" rate was 44.99 for over a year. Then suddenly it was 54.99, then 59.99, then 64.99, then by the time it was 79.99, I was finally able to get out from under them. If it was just one price jump I would have assumed I had missed something in the fine print and connected during a promotion and not remembered, but multiple? It was like they were hoping I wouldn't notice. No telling if they would have kept going up.
Third, when you try and cancel or reduce services they will literally argue with you. One piece of advise, just keep repeating "I would like to cancel my service" every time they ask you a question that is none of their business. They will ask you how much you pay for phone, what kind of TV you watch, if you have roommates, where are you moving... etc. I thought through my circumstances, dude. I just want to f*cking cancel.
I received a new modem and router. I called
So they can finish helping me set it up. They saw the 2 communicating, said I was good to go. No one told me I had to reset all my TVs even my phone was not set to the correct new network keyname and password I couldn't figure out why anything was working. On my 4th call I spoke to Rhonda Norman she explained it to me where it made sense it was so easy. 2 guys I asked them what was the distance of the router they did not know one of them talk to me about what he ordered from Amazon. They're not all bad some people just don't care about their job and don't care to be knowledgeable.
They try everything in the world to get more money from me. There is always internet outages. I left them 5 years ago and they still want my equipment that I returned to them 5 years ago. They are trying to charge me $400 for this so called equipment that I returned years ago. I had no choice but to go back to them recently because my new apartment doesn't have any other connection but them. My monthly bill change every month faithfully. I get charged for TV every couple of months when all I want is Internet. I have to call to remove it before my next bill comes out otherwise I will have to pay for it. Spectrum is the worst. If you can find something better take it immediately. Don't get scammed by spectrum.
I had Spectrum for almost 2 years and my internet was never up to speed (no pun intended). Their techs blame the old equipment and bad lines for the failures and lag in coverage. I have upwards of 20 service calls and no resolution, however, they continued to charge me full price the entire time. When I went to cancel (Google Fiber became available) I was charged for another month's service. If you wish to cancel your contract with them in January you will need to call them in Nov or you will receive an invoice for Jan as the final invoice (you pay a month ahead). This company has no integrity or value for its customers when it comes to the product and services that they provide. STEER CLEAR
Being a Spectrum customer is like being in the Twilight Zone. Bill has gone up to $200 per month for BASIC cable/internet and cell phone service is horrible! Spectrum says they don't have any lower priced cable/internet packages ($200 is the bottom of the barrel apparently!) When I called Spectrum Mobile about my terrible cell service, their computer bot said they could only help me if I hung up my cell phone and found another phone to call them back on! WTF? I don't have a landline or other phone! Am I supposed to go to a neighbors and ask to borrow their cell phone while I attempt to fix my phone with Spectrum?!?! Finally, I went online and found their Live Chat and was told the wait would be over an hour. Ok, fine I'll wait. I waited for 55 minutes. "Live Chat" (aka a Computer Bot) asked "what is your question"? When I answered, I received this message..."Oops! It seems like we're having difficulty processing that. Please try again later". Well I'm having difficulty trying to process why in the world I'm still with Spectrum! SO FRUSTRATING!
I have been a customer of Spectrum for many years. My dad was also. My dad (almost 90) was put on Hospice and not allowed to go back to his second floor at his Assisted Living Place because he was bed ridden! Since he had to go to the first floor we had to TRANSFER service. We did for $243.00 for one month. In 10 days my Dad died. The last 5 days he didn't even use it, because his eyes were closed. Since October I have had many calls to Spectrum telling me it will be refunded. Several ticket numbers and agents telling me, YES, you will get the refund, it was approved. Today, I was told, no, it was a transfer not a new account so you can't get a refund. Even though several employees told me I would. Unbelievable! 5 days of service for $243.00. Of course, I am not happy with the outcome. Not good customer service!
It never fails that the past 3 MONTHS they have used the wrong payment method for billing and send an email stating that I have a past due payment and the proceeds to over charge me. The internet is mid anyway, I would not use this company if you don't have to. Garbage customer service too.
They just keep charging more every month. They say no contract but they are liars about that too. They have to suck every last penny they can get. Never seen a company so money hungry.
Read my first story, and now photos of the mess and damage caused by Ricardo, employee of Spectrum.Had one TV hooked up.Damaged my home, cut my landlines from box, every line.Total Nightmare.
One person will tell u one thing, and another will tell u complete opposite! And then they'll change their story. STAY FAR FROM THIS SCANDALIST CO! They'll promise u free stuff, but fail to tell u if u Wana cancel n what they will charge u.DONT USE THEIR PHONE SERVICE, FREE YEAR OR NOT, UR TIED IN AND THEY WILL RIP U OFF!
This broadband service was the worst I have ever had. The service was intermittent, the customer service poor, and it was by far the most expensive I have had. I never received a bill and had to call monthly to receive a total and the electronic account was "never available." TWO weeks after I discontinued service a collections agency phoned me. I never saw a bill! Horrible company! I purchased a Firestick. Much better
Spectrum is the worst internet/TV provider I have ever used! Cory from leadership was both condescending and useless to speak to.
This company Spectrum is price gouging! They have a monopoly on area code *******. They want $84.89 just for internet!
Spectrum tv is so far behind the times that even programming leaves a lot to be desired. TV is so slow charging channels and program reviews are the worst. Takes forever to load and when you press the program button it comes up and says do you want to continue to live tv. If I wanted to see the programing why do you not think that I pushed the dang button. It's just a big joke. You can't record but 2 channels and watch a 3rd. They force you to record 1 and have to watch the second one. For any one that wants a good tv service STAY AWAY FROM SPECTRUM. Now their internet service isn't much better, my router is less than 10 feet from me and I only get 2 bars of service. It's not because I'm out of service range because there's a tower less than a quarter mile from me. Spectrum ads on tv talk about how good they are well they SUCK. I'll never get SPECTRUM again and if you do I feel sorry for you.
Spectrum are big scammers and they will ruin your credit score and your life for an equipment and service you never ordered and never used. AVOID SPECTRUM PLEASE! Save you some headache and keep your money. They will STEAL your money without a doubt! Go somewhere else.
30 years we were with Comcast prior to moving and being forced to use spectrum cable. In all our years we had a total of a dozen times we lost internet or cable. In approximately 1 year we have had outages at least 2 times per month for extended periods of time. Their customer service is abysmal and their on line apps and support is just as bad. Unfortunately we have no real opinions in our area outside of AT&T or dish. Miss the reliability of Comcast.
I was attempting to become a customer and they signed me up. I signed into my online account and it had the wrong service address. I told them the correct address and they informed me that I wasn't in the service area, even though all my neighbors have it and the site surveyor said it was good to go. Well they won't schedule service because the computer says I'm not in service area.
I went to the local spectrum store here in carrollton Ga and asked them about it, the agent was horrible, she wouldn't answer any questions. She said she would cancel it for me and she was like I don't have any answers for you, you I canceled it. Just rude and smart $#*!. I think my angels were looking out for me, I don't need to get connected with customer service like that. I will never connect to spectrum ever.
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
