RANT SAN ANTONIO LOCATION

RANT: They took a REALLY long time to see me in store when all i needed was to return their equipment because their internet is dog water.
They texted me to return to the store at 2:03 so that i could be helped, and they didn't help me until 2:42

They were very dismissive with my questions even when they weren't helping anyone at the time when i approached them.

They also have zero control of their store and dont respect the customers there. There was a little kid there with a spiderman mask literally SPRINTING and climbing and jumping on furniture the entire 40+ minutes i was there and they said nothing to the parents. They allowed these parents and their child to treat the store like a playground. The parents are 100% at fault for this brat but the store has the authority to say something and didn't. It was a nightmare and extremely annoying.

Update: was just seen after 50+ minutes of waiting (not counting the time i waited before i got the text) and the entire interaction took less than a minute.
I tried to talk tell them my frustrations and Matt, which was the employee next to the person helping me started shaking his head, smirking and smiling in a very disrespectful manner as i was complaining. I called him out and he tried to play it off. Extremely disrespectful.

The worst very irritating commercial with the guy that goes from place to place saying 29.99, his name is John Hoogenakker. I know many people that mute this guy or change channel instead of listening to this man.and your commercial.

For the past couple of years, I have been more than satisfied with Spectrum TV/Internet, and customer service. I left Verizon and AT&T because they kept increasing rates to ridiculous amounts.
In trying to keep the bill relatively low (less than the other 2), I've been calling because the bill has been 'creeping' up...again. When I called about a week ago, they told me that the only thing I could do to reduce my bill for the plan the I was "grandfathered" into without losing my discounts was to "return the DVR Receiver to reduce the bill by ~$24 per month...so I did.
I looked at my bill, and am still being charged for the returned equipment. Of course, when I called today, I was told that I COULD NOT remove the monthly receiver cost of $10.99, but could remove the the "DVR Service" for $12.99. I had 2 choices; get a reg HD receiver for the $10.99, or simply continue 'give them $10.99 per month for nothing. I have already been paying for "voice services" since I signed up...again a service I NEVER use! If I wanted to change my package to remove the receiver cost, I would lose everything, and still be paying over $200 per month.
So, I them send me the reg HD receiver asap (who knows when it will come, or if it will be her before the next billing cycle).

Bad situation; very disappointing. They've most likely lost a customer, or I may just go with internet only (unless I can find something that will better suit my needs).

Since I've lived in this area spectrum is the only option for cable and it is the only time in my life of having cable for 50 years as a child and now as an adult that I've ever had as many outages despite the weather or any other cause from any other cable company in any state I've lived in. It appears that they're somehow linked to the power company rather than having individual and robust lines. Plus when the power comes out we've still been out of Internet service for over a day and a half. This is not aberrant. It is frequent. The most frustrating thing about it is they do not communicate at all regarding restoration.

They're extremely extremely expensive for their services and they have poor customer service they don't allow the people to have the means or the equipment to address problems in an effective way. Clearly they must have huge profit margins cuz they don't reinvest it in their infrastructure and these regional monopolies such as spectrum and DTE should never have the power to be the only one in town because they all they do is squander their profits for big salaries reimbursement of stock options to CEOs and crap like that rather than servicing their customers and ignoring them paying their workers low and low not giving them the infrastructure and support necessary to get adequate customer service order addressed problems with their equipment because they don't have the robust systems in place how is it possible with them below ground infrastructure that we have so many outages and it has not been addressed and ice storm in Michigan is not an unusual thing between them and the utility companies is profit motive is stupid there's nothing wrong with profits but spend some money in your infrastructure so you don't screw your clients all the time you suck

They schedule maintenances without notifying their customers. Tonight's maintenance was from midnight until 2:30am CT. I had to call to find out that they have no regard for providing the service their contract says they provide. A maintenance should be between 3 and 6am! People like me work evenings! I asked customer service about it and they said we can't do anything about it. There's constant outages and they over charge. Terrible TERRIBLE company.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with Spectrum's business internet and phone service. I have been a customer for over 5 years and have had nothing but problems. The customer service is incredibly poor, the technicians are unprofessional, and the company has a monopoly on service in my area, which means they have no incentive to provide good service.

Here are just a few of the problems I have had with Spectrum:

Customer service: I have called Spectrum customer service countless times and have always been met with long wait times, rude representatives, and promises that my problems would be fixed, which they never were.
Technicians: The technicians who have come to my business to fix problems have been unprofessional and have damaged my equipment on multiple occasions.
Monopoly: Spectrum has a monopoly on service in my area, which means they are the only provider of internet and phone service. This gives them no incentive to provide good service, because they know that customers have no other choice.
As a result of these problems, I have lost thousands of dollars in revenue due to no internet. I have also had to spend a significant amount of time and money trying to get Spectrum to fix their problems.

Customer service, prices, the internet service itself are all terrible. They don't care about providing quality internet service, they only care about over charging people as much and for as long as they can. Their "deals" are absolute trash and if you have ANY other options for an internet provider I suggest going with anyone other than spectrum.

They're terrible

The price was okay and I had them for years, but despite the lies they told me they were definitely throttling my internet and at night it would constantly cut out. Which I had several calls with them on and almost always had to wait on hold. There was never another option until a competitor put in a fiber optic line and I switched. Competitor has been way easier and better to deal with. I'm writing this review 2 months after the fact because they called wanting me to return the motem but would not come out and get it themselves I had to bring it to them or they would continue charging me every month. I was told I could just go to there store and do a quick drop off. Well 2 hours later and I'm still waiting. Apparently I cannot just hand it over these are the slowest store workers I've ever seen and when I called to complain because this is not what I had been told I got that round about customer service way of telling you to go fluff yourself

Poor customer service

So here goes had a line that was suspended back in Oct. No notification that I could not do indefinite then got a bill that went up cause they turned it back on. Got it suspended again but everyone knows life gets busy these people from Jan 12-feb 8 making me pay40.65 and then from feb 9 till march 8 29.99. This is just for one line and only service. Every month they get almost 500.00 from me but would not budge on this 70.00 crazy even threaten me that if not paid all my lines would be terminated. So now on to the upper hands to email them their poor customer service.

Spectrum is terrible

Internet is expensive and only fair on reliability. TV is the worst experience I have had in the last 40 years of cable. VERY expensive, program menu is terrible on accuracy and time, DVR recording will typically only go out 5 days, sometimes 7 on a few channels. Power or cable outage - takes about 5 days to repopulate menu. Just raised our rates again. We're going a different route. Soon

Ordered service January 5th and countless hours on the phone with clueless representatives, service was finally installed on February 9th. BUT only Wi-Fi was ordered and they somehow added TV services as well. AND the equipment that was picked up on January 5th at the store where the service was ordered had to be returned because none of it was needed. The left hand definitely does not know what the right hand is doing and why does it take 5 different departments to get the service figured out and installed. Perfect example of each person/department passing the buck and not taking the initiative to take care of the PAYING customer. No compensation was ever offered and NO ONE seemed to care. Very very sad this is the only option for Wi-Fi in the area or we would definitely not be at their mercy to use the service.

Spectrum / Spectrum app

Spectrum as a service seems to be full of holes. In an environment where apps and convenience are trumping cable services you would expect a higher level of customer service. We had several issues including a representative physically threatening me in my home. Spectrum had promised to increase our internet to the highest level. We continue to have network issues and each time the rep tells us upgrading would fix the issue. If we have the highest I ternet available due to previous issues what am I upgrading to? The answer is frontier. Great internet service and excellent customer service.

The app. The app is great if you don't mind only having access to a small percentage of the networks you pay 269.00 for.

Do the math. Any network you may be committed to through these providers can be accessed and / or purchased directly saving you hundreds a month.

So I woke up this morning and my internet was fully connected but nothing was working. After doing the standard trouble shooting, I gave customer service a call. They stated that they weren't able to get to my house for 3 days and knew that could mean my termination from my current job. During this whole panic, they did not even suggest or provide the information that I could buy my own modem. Luckily I was able to buy a modem after calling outside sources for advice. Having internet the next day is literally the difference between me having a house vs being homeless, losing a second really great job opportunity, and the customer support team did not care in the slightest. It took 3 phone calls before I spoke to someone who was actually qualified to work in that position and was helpful. They solved nothing, but luckily I was able to buy my own equipment.
