Snakes at Sunset

I was interested in a Black Roughneck Juvenile and asked about it's temperament in their chat app, no reply. The next day, Sunday, went ahead and pulled the trigger and bought the animal. A short time later I asked if they could hold the shipping until the next Monday, no reply. Two hours later I get an email that the animal has been shipped. Received the animal that Tuesday morning and the animal was seriously undernourished and obvious in distress. Wednesday morning it was dead. Buyers beware!

I was skeptical after reading the previous reviews, however, I went with my gut. While the response from MikeB was curt, it's the animal that counts for me, not the level of customer service.
My King snake arrived plump, no mites, no scale issues, warm from his heater and ready to explore his new 20 gallon condo. The true test will be in a few days when it comes feeding day, however, honestly I'm not real concerned, this is one chunky monkey. If appearance is any indication, this little guy has never missed a meal.
Very satisfied customer and I would not hesitate to buy from Snakes at Sunset again.

You'd probably be better off going to petco because these animals are jammed in small enclosures, some of the water dishes are dried out, worms are just left in bowls ect. There were two beardies jammed inside about 40-50 gallon and they were NFS. Many snakes were jammed in what looked like 12x12x12 with nothing but a single empty dish. Please do not buy from this shop, go to a trusted breeder, not this pet smart quality store.

I've ordered reptiles by mail from many sources. I really only had trouble with one. But Snakes at Sunset isn't that one.
I can't tell you how long I've been waiting to find Jeweled Lacertas. They have been out of stock everywhere for the longest time. So when I found them, I was excited. I ordered them immediately and Snakes at Sunset kept me on top of when they would be sent and where I can pick them up due to weather issues.
It could not have gone smoother. I picked up my lizards which were in excellent heath and followed instructions to the T!
The lizards have adjusted to their environment and don't seem as timid as these lizards usually are.
I am extremely satisfied and look forward to doing business with them in the future!

Ordered my Western Hognose from the Snakes at Sunset website this week and he came the next day at 10am. I even called to ask about how long it takes them to normally ship an order and just make sure mine went through, and the man I spoke to was very helpful and professional. The packaging was secure and came with a sheet that explained the use/or lack of the hot/cold packs and how to remove your animal and properly warm them. My hoggy is in great shape! Beautiful and healthy, very active and was obviously accustomed to being handled. I'll definitely do more business here in the future.

Ordered a Pacman frog, recurved it but it had a calcium deficiency which gave her a deformed jaw.
It couldn't eat even with had feeding crickets or meal worms.
Of course it died. 128.00 wasted, and the slow death of the poor frog.

Emailed, texted, called nothing but crickets.
Their phone rings forever and goes to dial tone.

They are total scam artists... they took my $$$ for an online order sent me an email stating it was shipped... NOT SO! They made the label but never shipped the product! I called FedEx and they confirmed no product shipped! I called the store and the so called manager acted as if he didn't care that it's Friday and deliver was scheduled for Tuesday! We knew that even if it was shipped it was dead... he never offered to ship another or return our $$$! He was so rude my husband asked it speak to him and he hung up on my husband! I called them back and let them know I would be reporting them to my bank for taking $$$ from my account without sending out a product! These people suck... I wish I would have read the previous reviews before ordering... I hope I can help someone else!

My blue iguana arrived with its pelvic bones showing. I took photos of it immediately after unpacking and rushed it to the vet for treatment and a checkup. I was late to work that day.

I contacted the seller with the photos. Employees told me that the blue iguana was just dehydrated. It was not. After many months of vet trips and intensive treatment, the iguana died. The wasting disease that the blue iguana arrived with (likely crypto) has now spread to my albino iguana. I didn't realize that soaking in pure ammonia is one of the only ways to disinfect for this.

I'm still living a nightmare and I ordered the axanthic iguana back in April 2016. Now I'm just waiting for my poor albino to die the same way as there is no treatment for this terrible disease.

Snakes at sunset has cost me thousands of dollars and caused me much heartache. Do not ever order from them.

Horrible buisness, bad customer service, and sick animals. I ordered some pacman frogs and one of them showed up dead and another sick in 90 degree weather with a heat pack? I emailed them and I got nothing but rude responses and Just plain out ignored after their mistakes. I ended up not getting refunded for what was their fault and completely ignored after bringing up the issue of their mistake. Their website even says live arrival guaranteed but that's complete BS.

The customer services if horrible. I called with a question about an order I wanted to place and the guy who answered the phone was rude. It was as he didn't care for my business. I would hate to have to try to return anything to this store.

Told them my butter corn died in 2 days they dont honor there guarantee, if you call them they say this is the store not the online sales, and online they dont get back to you

I had heard and read a lot of negative reviews at the same time positive reviews so I had mixed emotions and after some research thought hey let's try it. I wanted a bald/near bald hypo tangerine gecko so I emailed snakes at sunset and received a number to text to see what hypos they had in stock. Well sure enough they had what I was looking for. Ariel was the employee I was told to contact and she answered all my questions and sexed then reserved the hypo for me. Though a response or two was slow for the vast majority she was fast and updated me quickly on my order. Was very pleased with my hypo tangerine. She was the one I was promised and she is very healthy and is tame! My new hot spot for online reptile orders that is for sure!

Horrendous experience! Sold me a panther chameleon for $600 plus all other equipment needed for $500. The man at the store was extremely rude and told me that the chameleon was 1-2 years old. A month later, the chameleon, Leo, became very ill and after many vet visits, Leo was diagnosed with severe MBD and died in the vet office. The vet also predicted that the chameleon was at least 8 years old. I contacted the store owner and he told me that it was my fault for not returning the "defective" chameleon to the store before. Would definitely not recommend!

The snake was nice and smooth, big and healthy looking. I've always loved snakes and this one is no exception my daughter did get bitten and is now in hospital with in terminal condition. Womp womp

I purchased a ball python back in November. After a few weeks it arrived quite cold but warmed up quickly. This was my first official pet snake and took every precaution and set up everything exactly as it should. Temperature and humidity gauges and settings and all. Everything was perfect. Until I noticed he wouldnt eat. I assumed he was drinking becuase I was having to refil his bowl every week or more. But I never noticed any urine. I contacted the company multiple times about this and never got a response. My snake seemed as though he was much too small to be sold in the first place and was shipped in a tiny deli container full of his own urine and excrement not to mention instead of a sack. My snake passed away today after having him out yesterday and he looked normal. This is a shock. And I am attempting to seek answers from the company. Please do not order from this place. They do not sell quality pets and are in it for the money.

Buyer beware, the hognose they sell are imported from germany, i found this out when i inquired about hets, they said they guarantee hets but they really cant because they didnt breed them, and on their web site it is not mentioned in any terms, or guarantees, so if you buy hets grow them up and breed them and they dont prove out you will have wasted years money and time, and after you return the adults they refund you less shipping for what you paid for babies?

I received my chameleon and it was dead, i tried to warm it but no response. Its body was cold to the touch. I contacted customer service and they were extremely rude and couldnt even spell properly. They told me to take a photo of the reptile which i did and they insisted i send the DEAD chameleon back. Are they morbid? They wanted me to ship a dead reptile back to them. Extremely disappointed. Havent recieved a refund. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Rip little Marvin
