The account I had was closed 8 months ago, they completely misrepresent this b.s app, I look at my bank account these scam artists took 380 dollars for a year subscription, 8 MONTHS ITS CLOSED, NOW I CAN'T GET A HUMAN BEING, CAN'T GET ANY HELP, THEY HIT MY ACCOUNT 5 DIFFERENT TIMES UNTIL THE PAYMENT WENT THROUGH!

They don't tell you that you have to initiate search engine registration, so I went thru the entire trial period with no hits at all. Stayed on the lowest cost option and do some research on how it's done manually. Start the process and 90 minutes later, after updating descriptions and SEO and registering for an analytics account, etc, etc, etc... I come to find out I can't even get registered on search engines without upgrading my account from 'less-than-basic' to Basic. This is in spite of being willing to pay a higher per-transaction fee for the lower cost of a 'let's try it out' plan.
Let me say that again - They BLOCK search engine results unless you pay for a higher tier - even if you don't even know if it will be a productive marketplace for you. And you don't find any of this out until you create the account and set up the site!
Brutal policies. They will actively HURT your sales opportunities until you pay them EXTRA (not just the 5% transaction fee, but even more), just to act like a company that cares about your success.
Only idiots use this site. Why would you let a company obtain enormous data on you for 29.99 a month when you can build your own website for much much less. The data they get, gets sold to competitors, who will eventually crush you. The model is unstainable. They didnt build it for you. They built it to crush you, and help companies like ebay, amazon, etc get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger... so that no one else can possibly compete.
LiveAquaponics can't refund my money after the order couldn't be filled, due to us canceling our credit card. They stated that Shopify has our money and are unable to refund it. Costco canceled our Costco credit card because we canceled our membership. I would definitely not use Spotify due to the inability to retrieve my refund or ability to contact anyone at the company.

I used Shopify as a third-party to place an order thinking that in the event that there was an issue with my order, Shopify would assist in resolving it, but they did not. They let me know that if I had an issue with my order, I needed to contact the merchant, directly or my bank, because they are not there for assistance, I will never use them as a third-party ever again I will continue to send my business through PayPal
I ordered an item that never came. They had no problem charging me immediately but over a month later and 18 attempts to contact them I have received no response.

Shopify did a refund for me more than 6 months ago through my shop to a customer I could not fulfill an order for. 6 months later (the store has been closed for 6 weeks permanently) they are pulling the money out of my account and fraudulently debiting my account with no notice or idea where this came from. DO NOT USE SHOPIFY IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. These people are scammers and they will continue to charge your account. You will not be able to leave them, as they will continue to withdraw from your business accounts months after you supposedly left. Go Wordpress and Woocommerce if you know what's good for you!
Don't do business Here. They are straight up thieves. Don't use them to host your site. No number to call to fix problems. You will get list in a sea of emails.

I have tried for several days to get my website going - I just keep running into multiple roadblocks when it comes to customizing it for my needs. The worst thing is I've spent around $400 for a theme and fees and gotten nowhere because of their terrible UI for non-developer types.
The custom templates don't update, the metafields and meta definitions is a totally confusing way to try and have custom items in your shop.
I can't believe they're allowed to take your money and not refund you when you want to walk away from their crappy platform - even if you never published the site to begin with - it's just a big scam and they prey upon small business owners trying to do things themselves. If I had someone pay me for a product and I didn't deliver - I would be sued and forced out of business - shopify has done this over and over again by the looks of these reviews - but good luck going after Shopify alone. Maybe someday a tort lawyer will get a class action lawsuit against them and I would happily join in on that.

I use Shopify to build a few of my online stores and like their platform. It's very easy to use, they have nice templates, and also great customer service.
First day I opened my store on Shopify I was starting to configure my page and added my recently purchased domain to my Shopify store. I added my payment details and instantly my store became "Inactive" and I no longer have access to my Shopify backend nor my domain. Its been 2 weeks since this happened and I keep getting strung around by customer service reps being told that someone from another team will reach out to me. No one has reached out yet 2 weeks later and I can't talk to anyone that is actually capable of helping. They only have a chat system with incompetent people on the other end. I asked to speak to a manager and the chat rep said there is no manager available and closed the chat. Im stuck between a rock and a hard place and my domain (which I am paying Google for) is stuck on my Shopify backend. I had always heard great things about Shopify and, low and behold, there are tons of horrible reviews on this site about it. I should've looked elsewhere before using Shopify. What a disgrace of a website.
Made an order on one of the stores fashion centre co no order number was received. Took my money and vanished.did not even received confirmation of the order nor how to track.
Someone recommended Shopify to me because it supposedly could disperse your products to other websites where it would be sold, ultimately more exposure and more sales. I did not see it on the website so I called. I waited for 28 minutes to finally talk to someone. I asked her about it dispersing to other websites where products can be sold, and told her how I heard it could send them to amazon. I asked her if this is right and what other places does it go. She tells me "Amazon is a shopping platform... " I cut her off and said "No Kidding! I am not stupid! Who does not know what is amazon? Why don't you listen?" She said she thought I said that, and told her she needs to listen. I asked her again and she goes to tell me what I product is. No Kidding! They are bad listeners and think everyone who calls is stupid! STAY AWAY! I have no clue why this guy, who supposedly uses it, recommended it or where he came up with it doing this stuff. Maybe it does and the reps are the idiots. I don't know but with this kind of treatment, I would not do business with them. You could if you want to risk when you need help to be treated as an idiot. UPDATE: After putting this review, I searched for other reviews and places to leave them, such as how most have a place on google to leave them, and shopify is not on google my business, or other places where you can leave reviews. That said, I consider it a red flag when a business will not have a way to leave reviews. I found what are "reviews" and if you read it, they are blog articles that are selling you the product. They are not actual reviews.
