The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among sellers, primarily due to inadequate customer support and a frustrating user experience. Common concerns include long response times, unresolved issues, and a lack of tailored assistance, leading many to consider leaving the platform. While some sellers acknowledge the potential for sales, the overwhelming sentiment is one of frustration with the outdated interface and poor communication. This feedback suggests a pressing need for improvements in support training and system functionality to enhance seller satisfaction and retention.

Years ago I used to sell the odd item on Amazon, second hand books etc. It was similar to Ebay selling. My seller account lapsed as it was not used, and so I decided to sign up again.
Amazon have changed the whole system since then. What they don't tell you is that when you sign up, the automatically put you on the Business selling plan, which costs £25 a month. Nowhere is this stated during the signup process, and I had to change to the Individual Plan (for which you only pay a percentage of each item sold), manually after completing the signup process.
This is the ultimate Catch 22 situation however, because in order to complete the signup process, you have to give Amazon your card details. At no point did I authorize them to charge my card, and since I changed the plan almost immediately, I assumed I would be OK.
WRONG. Woke up this morning to find Amazon had charged me £30, despite ALREADY having opted to change to the Individual plan. Spent the best part of an hour chasing them on support.
Fed me some $#*! and bull story about how they cannot refund to cards (though they can charge you from them without a problem), and the only way to get a refund was to authorize my bank account. This takes days, by the way- and once this is done I have to wait for the next 'dispersal date' to get the money back. Oh, and even then, dispersal takes up to a week.
So basically, Amazon took a matter of hours to take money from me for a service I opted out of, and did not want in the first place. Then expect me to jump through a series of hoops, and to wait a month to be refunded. Oh, and if you Close the seller account, they can't issue refunds at all.
Its absurd to suggest they cannot refund to the same payment method they took the money from. And the refund is entirely dependent on them accepting the documents you give them for 'authorization. I've used Amazon for years, but they've acted like the worst kind of scammers in this regard.
This department needs a serious overhaul. Im having to take them to small claims court to pursue my money. Our seller account was closed with Seller Central claiming we've sold inauthentic product. We have sent them all of the documentation requested from the official product distributors in the UK and Europe. They have now said they will not disburse our funds. This has caused serious cash flow issues causing endless stress, sleepless nights and worry. Seller Support are a completely pointless existence and emails are responded to with the same automated reply which gives zero help or information. If you decide to sell on Amazon be exceptionally cautious as this seems to be an exceptionally regular occurrence. Its mind boggling considering their stance on customer service for their buyers, seems their sellers are treated with a complete apathy that borders on cruel.
Don't seem to care about their sellers. My mom passed away on the same day as a lady placed an order. On top of that the order notification went into my spam folder for some reason. So about two weeks later I happened to come across it. I sent her an email apologizing for the delay and said I would get it to her after Christmas. She was very nice and understanding. Amazon was not.
My page continues to say that the shipment was never sent out. I even told them I sent the buyer a tracking number, but they act like they don't know how to fix my seller page. I told them CONTACT her to see for sure if she got it and then fix the problem on my page. So far, I am just going in circles. This makes me want to switch to Alibris - they can't be any worse.
At first, they've tortured me with endless authenticity procedures. They only didn't ask me the number of my shoes. After 2 weeks I finally got approval. Immediately switched to a professional account, paid $39.99 and then they wanted some additional check over my identity. Approved once again.
I opened my dashboard and find message in red font "Your account is suspended"!?! I made an appeal and they're asking more personal documents (bills for electricity and similar). I provided that as well, but they're not happy with it for no apparent reason. No explanation at all.
Made new appeal, but no answer at all. I tried several times again, but I found only silence.
Now it passed over a month since I started registration.
NEW appeal: " I want my money back"
Finally, I've got the message "we're still reviewing your case"
Now it's been 3 months since I started registration and I still haven't got any feedback or my money.
I can recommend this site only if you're a masochist with plenty of cash and free time. In that case, you'll have some really quallity and unforgettable times
I've been selling on FBA for years and it's not worth it anymore. Buyers can return items with half the contents missing and used and there is no reimbursement from the trillion dollar company to third party business seller. Recently a buyer ordered 4 of my units which sell for $549 via prime. He claimed missed fulfillment promise and amazon refunded him $2200 usd out of my account even though he didn't return the product. The scammer knows what he is doing and when I contact amazon, I get a rep from India or Manila who just don't understand the nature of this. It's almost impossible to speak with an American rep anymore in amazon. I am so turned off from amazon, if you read this, don't trust FBA if you have high value goods.

And I'm getting charged amazon fees? For what? I don't even have any products on Amazon for a good while now. I started this to to get money not loose money. I just started with a few items I had at home that where new and thought I could get quick cash. I love the kitchenaid brand I love to collect them all. I had a few that I had to many of and had not used so thought why not get them out and get some that I really needed or wanted to get. I was wrong to use Amazon. After I had sold some items I got charged $39.99 for membership fees for each month when I thought that was just a one time fee. Then the Amazon fees per item for having my items on sale. The longer I had my items on sale the more they charged me. I started lowering my prices and practically giving away my items just to get them sold so I would not keep getting charged the fees. I started with about 10 items and after all the fees walked away with $14 and now there asking me for more fees after I haven't even sold a thing and don't even have anything for sale in 2 months. Fees for what?
Just cancel my account now, this is crazy

This company is so bad.
No way for You to talk to a human by phone or email to resolve the issues around setting up the account.
Also if You don't complete the steps that are impossible, You cannot contact the refund department.
After talking to robots for weeks (automated USELESS responses), I finally gave up.
If You want to sell stuff online You are in the wrong place, but if You want ulcers, go ahead.
I thought eBay and PayPal gave bad service. Amazon Seller Central Seller makes eBay and PayPal look like a five star service. None of their staff have a clue. This company is only after your money, and provide no service. Not a professional outfit at all.
The worst ever way to sell something through a ecommerce site.
Most unprofessionals and rude, no respect for your business.
I hate them and ever never in my life I will buy something from $#*!azon.
If I can give minus 10 stars for sure I will do it.
I have no idea how Amazon got this much power. They can do whatever they want with you. As a seller you are at their mercy. Amazon takes an excessive amount of profits and leaves all the complaints and dealing with customers to sellers. What a terrible place. We need to band, file complaints with state and federal government and start regulating this horrible industry. The logistics workers also get treated like slave labor. While Bezos wealth is bigger than most nations, brick and mortar stores, delivery workers and Amazon own employees get treated like garbage.
Although I love shopping on Amazon and I have had a great experience for the most part (which inspired me to become an online seller), unfortunately, I don't have positive things to say about the Amazon Sellers department.
I have called Amazon Seller customer support several times now, and it seems like no one can help. I find this (if it was not so stressful) to be silly. I am a university student, and with that said, I am accustomed to doing many tasks online. However, I am unable to sign into Amazon Seller website. I have never had this much trouble before. It is like I am stuck in some merry-go-round going through the same steps over and over again with password reset, but no luck. Then I call Amazon Seller customer support, and they are unable to help. They send the same link that leads to the same page to reset password only to go through the same thing again, landing on a page that says that Amazon is unable to assist me in my request.
I was told that a supervisor would be calling me, but I have not heard back from anyone. I am also upset that I am being charged a monthly fee since I am trying to deactivate my account, but I am unable to since I cannot sign in. The customer support people in the Amazon Sellers department who answer the phone don't seem to have enough training to help, which is another frustrating thing.
I have waisted so many hours trying to get hold of someone, but no luck. I am scratching my head, wondering how a large company like Amazon can offer such poor service to their customers (as a seller, I am still a customer of Amazon). All I want is to deactivate my account, so I no longer are being charged and removing my banking info on the Amazon Sellers account; why is this so difficult?
We have been trying to setup an Amazon Seller Central account to list product on Amazon AU for a few months now, but the account doesn't function and keeps throwing errors so we can't load products. The support has been beyond useless and so frustrating we have given up. They don't read responses fully, or don't understand English, and ask ridiculous questions that I am sure is an attempt to make you totally lose your temper (which i have) Eg We can't list any product so their support replies with "we can't help unless you specify the ASIN of uploaded products you are having trouble with". ASIN is the number they assign when you load a product to Amazon. I have never had such a ridiculous interaction with a company. Don't put yourself through it, stick to Ebay.
Your ratings suck. I was considering becoming a seller but this just ruined that. Wow get it together.
How such a big company can make such much headache? I lost my words. I had the worst experience in my entire life dealing with Amazon.ca
I do not recommend anyone to do anythings with amazon. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
Do not buy anythings from them there is so many others websites on the market, trust amazon do not worth it.
Have been accused of some major crimes as a seller on amazon, prohibited items, deceptive (false, misleading items) abusive, and the best one illegal activity that one they better watch them self, they have been holding over $ 800 of mine going for 4 months now, all of the above is their fault they dont know what they are doing in the perfume business, the person in charge of perfumes needs to go they are the ones that are creating are the problems and then blaming the sellers.
After selling on Amazon for a long time, I've learned that it's not so cheap at all and have more and more cheap Chinese rubbish.
Somebody stole my listing.
It is obvious and no need to investigate as the representative agreed with me.
"Nothing I can do," he said.
Can I talk to your superior?
Yes sure just wait on the line. The same guy comes back... "I checked with him," he said
"nothing we can do"
Danm I am starting to hate amazon.
A proof for the fake seller on my listing.
We have sold on Amazon in the past and are trying to cancel our account. I had to cancel my credit card on file because of unauthorized charges by AMS. I tried contacting them but got no where. Now they won't let me close my account without updating my credit card. This has been going in circles for 4 months. I've tried several times to get a person on the phone with no success. Emails from them are all from NO REPLY accounts. It has been insane trying to get this matter cleared up. I get calls regularly from another part of Amazon but unfortunately the two departments can't communicate.
Amazon does not need sellers, they need only buyers. So there is no point of giving them bad feedback since Amazon will only show u a finger anyway.
Answer: If I was you I will stop everythings involving with Amazon and find others platforms to sell my products. Usually it takes 2-3 weeks under reviews. In your case 46 days it means there is a probleme. But this is only the 1st problems tons will come, TONS.
Answer: Jeff@amazon.com I would complain to the AG for Washington and copy Customer service. Worst case (if you can) set up a new bank account. You will be extremely lucky if you get a real person to speak with you. Good luck.
