Amazon is actively discouraging their sellers from requesting that negative reviews be taken off their seller profile. They have created four criteria which they rigidly apply via robot-like seller support people (I'm sure you have even encountered them in buyer customer support), who have no ability or freedom to make independent analytical judgments. One buyer I recently encountered was clearly mentally ill, kept complaining she didn't get the book, then said she did but it was the wrong one. She wouldn't clarify anything but just kept replying with three sentence quips like "Haven't got it. Send it" or "This isn't the book I ordered."until I almost went nuts myself and gave it over to Amazon. They paid her off and absolved me any further responsibility. Then she put on my feedback page that she did not get a refund and gave me a 1 rating. I asked Amazon to take it off because Amazon did give her a refund, and I was no longer responsible for her as a customer at that point. No response from Amazon about this specific issue. Every time I reopened the case I got a new "analysis" that was more idiotic and irrelevant than the previous one. Then I realized that all Amazon was doing was hastily and without any thought and analysis of the individual case, rubber stamping a decision using the four critieria for removing a negative review. Moreover, the Amazon responses were often constructed with grammatical incorrect sentences, and showed each of the "support" people may have spent two seconds on my case. When I finally asked to speak with a supervisor, I got no response. There are "no supervisors," nor, am I beginning to think, human beings working for Amazon. Amazon should go the full way as a monopoly and have robots do everything from customer and seller service to packaging because it can't be any worse than asking humans to act like robots. I encourage responsible buyers and those who want to sell books to seek other outlets. Amazon is not only dehumanizing but unhuman.

Amazon has really changed over the years. Used to be, you could pick up the phone and call them to take care of any issues. Now, they are matrix driven (ever notice your dashboard?) and whatever data goes into the matrix is what they go by. We have been sellers for just under 20 years. Just a week or so ago we got a policy violation through the dashboard for selling a used book as a new one. We have never done that and we never will! The violation was very vague and when we asked for details to take care of it no information was given. We were told to file an appeal. An appeal? I don't remember going before a judge/jury... we didn't. We were told it could result in account deactivation. We appealed 4 times and each appeal was declined. Then, just a day or two ago we got a violation for a banned book. We haven't had that book for a couple years (Amazon had it at the same time!). The human element is gone. All they look at are the stats. By the way, we never received one customer feedback for selling a bad/used book. Our customer reviews are 100% for close to the last year. And yet we are supposedly guilty. Part of the appeal is to check off on a list of what you think (yes, what you think) you did wrong. With no actual complaint or purchaser feedback how do you do that? We did it four times and each time it wasn't the correct one. Finally, my wife checked every possible crime (I used the word crime on purpose. That is how they will treat you). That really did it. They quit responding to us at all. Customer service will not help, I have had a chat with them and sent several messages. They have the attitude that you work for/belong to them. Amazon, you will soon be deactivated by us! Good riddance. For what it is worth I did file a complaint with the BBB. Maybe a real person will contact me for that.

Sellers support is inexistant.
We sold on *******@ckazon exclusive electronic products made by our company and paid between 2500 and 3500 EUR of transaction fees every month and had a perfect 100% customers satisfaction.
However *******@ackazon don't give a *******@ack that we pay as much. They don't provide ANY SUPPORT or help to sellers!

During the last 6 month on mere that seven thousand orders, two scam "buyers" has opened claims under "A-to-Z Guarantee" and said that they haven't received their orders.

We supplied to *******@ckazon proofs of delivery with customers SIGNATURES, but guess what... *******@kazone has allready refunded those scammers taking money from our balance.

We send them multiple emails asking for explanation, but only received automatic emails like "... the claim has been closed. Buyer has received fullrefund." all those damn automatic email from thier "performance team" just telling: " *******@ck-off and don't try to contact us. "we are" just a stupid software and we don't read your emails anyway..."

Those *******@stards simply suspended our account with ******* EUR balance on it! Because of those 2 scammers, and they asking us to provide an "action plan"!

When we call them by phone, they say, an agent will contact you by mail, and we receiving same damn automatic email by amzon software, over and over again.

*******@ack you *******@ckazone!
Here is our "Action Plan" - We will sue your damn company and you will NEVER see any cent from our company spent on your stupid website.

For being a huge company, I was surprise how they are all over the place with their web pages. If you haven't experience it, its like reading a newspaper or a book with no page number or table of contents. There's links after links that just seem ridiculous and useless. To sell, after my 30th time logging in, there is no simple way to get to my selling inventory, its the one link they don't have as I sign on. What makes matters worst, is that they do investigations on you that take days to get approved and yet you have to pay them this monthly fee for you to be accepted. Insane. If you try modifying shipping to you have to go to what seems a created template first to create shipping pricing. Then, much much worst, I post a product I bought from a manufacture and Amazon says its possible counterfeit and I had to get documentation and send to them. Instead of them proving my item was counterfeit, I had to prove to them it wasn't. Then it got complicated, I send them, purchase orders, certificates, approvals and a personal letter from manufacture and it seem there was just a robot reading these documents because I kept on getting 3 emails day, 1 saying they don't understand the case matter, 2nd they have not receive documents, 3rd email saying they did not accept my documents, my approved manufacturing documents. Frustrating. I set up Ebay and it was the WOW experience after dealing with amazon. Buy / Sell straight the point. Log on and there it is. Easy to setup. Add more products in a 1, 2, 3 setup; for shipping, you indicated as part of the option and for how much. I don't recommend amazon. One thing I did realize is DONT BUY AT AMAZON EITHER. ALL PRICES GET RAISED because of their fees and leg work they make you do. The only product I tried selling, I was selling for 30% more to offset everything from amazon compare to ebay. I was able to sell for less at ebay and make same profits. When you buy or sell compare amazon and ebay. You will LOVE ebay. Im not paid to say this, just my own experience.

It is been 1 month now trying to get a payment for 119.97 $

They told me to add a checking so they can do the refound and they payments will be processed 3-5 business days. After 2 weeks they send me an email saying I need to make an update to credit card information! I said so why did you ask me to upload checking account information? They said because the other worker didn't know better. Then this worker said we will issue a manual check and it will be to your house in 3-5 business days. A day after I get an email saying that your credit card information needs to be updated. I called again, I asked what is going on? I was promised fro manual check! They said sorry that takes up to 90 days and the previous worker didn't know better! So I need to add a new credit card! I did, they didn't accept my credit card! They went back to charging my AMEX card! It didn't work out again! But before they had no problem to take money from that card. Now since they have to refund money it became a problem. I called again and asked them to try to charge my card and they refused. They said we will try that after 24 hours. It is been more than a month now I had over 10 hours of phones calls and emails going back and forth and I still can not get my money. Whoever is reading this review please do not open a Seller account, Even if you sell anything it will take months maybe years until you will see your money. I will also upload all the youtube phone calls I had with this people and you can listen to how they treat people. I promised them I will make this go viral because in my life no one has ever pissed me off more than this people. For 119.97 $ I got the biggest stress and headache in my life and the problem it is not resolved yet. Most of the customer service agents don't even know how to speak English. I have never been serviced like this before and I hope I will never have to deal with this anymore. I really hope someone in HIgh position reads this review and understand what a $#*!ty job his company is doing. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND TRYING TO GIVE PEOPLE HARD TIME SO THEY CAN GIVE UP ON MONEY AND KEEP IT FOR THEMSELVES

To sum it up:

We didnt do much with amazon because its just too difficult for smal sellers, their "helpdesk" is just a bunch of idiots who dont even understand your question but do anything to answer it ASAP, so you actually dont get usefull answers

After being blocked from selling because we didnt upload certain VAT files they told us to remove our inventory before it gets destoyed

I submit a removal request to send all our inventory back to us

After 2 months i ask them where is my inventory they tell me it is destroyed and giving me all kinds of arguments.

Today, after 50 emails they tell me i need to shut up because i am not going to be compromised for the mistakes Amazon made.

EVERY proof you give amazon that says i did EVERYTHING they told me to do to get our inventory back to us gets ignored, they only reply with the same stupid answer that their system decides what happends and they can do nothing about its.

The only product we sold much of got replicated by amazon basics for 50% less and now i think they just want us to f*ck off their platform

Please: spare your self and your business and DONT start selling on Amazon! It is going to cost you TONNS of money its so difficult you need to hire an expert to do this and you get absolutely NO service from their $#*! helpdesk

Too Big To Care
September 28, 2017

I could write a novel on how bad Amazon treats the sellers. Bezos became the richest man in the world, and us sellers helped build Amazon. What do we get in return, the worst customer service I have ever experience in my years of business. Inept, impersonal, and inefficient. Just to give you an idea of what to expect if you sell on Amazon. I had spent 2 weeks making my listings, following the rules and guidelines. A year later, a competitor comes in and joins the fulfillment program. They purged my listings and merged them to his, which were poorly written, misleading, and had tons of violations. These competitor listings caused me to refund money on A to Z claims as a result. Amazon admitted they were in violation, and did nothing. Not only that, they made it difficult for customers to find me as the fulfillment gets front and center visibility since they get a greater cut and it's prime.

Amazon also sends you orders that do not pass AVS checks. They let customers not even disclose their full name. For example, all you get is a nickname like "K. C." or "Jimmy". Therefore you have no way of determining if the order could be fraudulent. As a result, you get a lot of claims of "did not receive item" even though you have a delivery confirmation. And they will ALWAYS give the customer their money back, and sternly tell you that the decision is final and they will not longer respond on the issue. I had one customer admit that he forgot to update his address in his profile, we shipped to the old address, and he still won the claim! They suggest that you send everything signature required. Only two problems with that suggestion. Customers get mad when they have to drive to the post office to retreive their package, because 90% of the people are never home during the day. The other problem is that they can still claim they never received it and win the claim. So paying extra for a signature does nothing in the eyes of Amazon. It's just an excuse they use for denying your claim when you bypass signature service.

I also get bombarded with spam, which I am required to respond to or I get penalized. Really!

Like I said, they are too big to care. Nothing improves for Sellers, it only gets worse. The disdain and total absence of customer service for sellers is baffling. They are almost a Trillion dollar company, they have the funds to provide better customer service to it's sellers. But instead, they choose to throw the mom and pop sellers under the bus in order to keep every single cent of profit they can pry out. My suggestion, stay far away from Amazon as a seller. Also, purchase items from smaller companies, otherwise Amazon will soon be a monopoly and consumer choice will be limited.

I usually sell on eBay and have had good success, and I've never had a problem there that eBay was not able to resolve. However, the "convenience" preached around Amazon FBA caught my attention, so I decided to give it a try. I listed a used tablet on Amazon FBA and it sold almost immediately. Great! Two and a half months later, I get an email saying the item was returned as "defective" by the customer, my bank account is missing $300, and no explanation anywhere in seller central as to what was defective about the item. I personally tested, packaged, and shipped (to Amazon warehouse) the item myself, so I am confident the item was not defective. I called Amazon to discuss the situation with them, and was told they had received the item from the customer, inspected it, and found that it was not defective. The service rep told me the item would be automatically relisted, and there was nothing further I needed to do. Not great, but okay. I sit back and wait for the item to show up in seller central. The next email I receive is that the item was automatically destroyed. What? What happened to automatically relisting it for me? I have spent over three months trying to get to a resolution on this. Multiple phone calls, multiple emails, everything I can think of. Every time, the response is the same: the rep quotes me a bunch of unrelated policies they are unable to violate (even though accepting the returned item 2.5 months after the sale date violated the 30-day return policy), and closes the case. Finally, a rep said they would "escalate the issue" to their management. After waiting a month to hear from their management, I finally call back. The new rep quotes the same unrelated policies I have now heard over a dozen times, and tells me the case was closed and was never sent to management, nor will it ever be. My item is destroyed and I am out $300, and Amazon refuses to discuss the situation further with me. I will never sell on Amazon again.

On a side note, their internal policies allow customer service reps to make exceptions on the return policy for all items without limitations. This means your sales are never final. At any moment - a week, 2.5 months, 10 years after the item(s) sold - Amazon can bill your account for any items that were sold through Amazon FBA if a customer service rep decides to approve the return.
