ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

This was an easy well programmed experience, for once a interactive site without some sort of aggravating hiccup 5 gold stars
ID.ME was very easy to set up. EASY instructions, quick to complete. Only iffy moment was when taking the 'selfie' you have to remove your glasses and may not be able to read the instructions (during the time your glasses are off).
From start to finish my verification process felt safe and secure - to make sure, I was absolutely who I said I was, and that my verified account was provided to the company requesting it. Beyond thankful for the Member Support/ Email & Chat options as well. Thank you!
So far it has been good though it does not seem to match up perfectly with your resume and you may spend approx about an hour correcting your resume getting mixed in format. It has been a great resource of locating work in my search field and hopefully it will pay off.
It was so easy today where I accessed 5 different government agencies. DFAS to establish account now that I lost my job and don't have a CAC. VA to pull down disability letters. VA unemployment to file for benefits. Social security SSD for benefits. Lastly, Fairfax County Tax Relief. All went smooth and everything was secure. Appreciate that my information is protected and IDme makes it simple. Thank you
I found the procedure very complicated and difficult perhaps because I am nearly 90 years old and not that computer illiterate. However, the person who helped me through it actually responded in a fairly short time about five or 10 minutes and stuck with me the whole way until the job was done.
It wasn't easy for me because I am not that savvy when it comes to modern technology but I managed to completed it by following the instructions provided.
Good experience, take your time, organize documents ahead of time. Could have had clear instructions upfront to advise on interaction with PC and handheld devices which was confusing.
ID.me allowed me to log in to the Social Security Admin website without any issues.
It is a great way to authenticate your private data.
If this is your first time setting it up, the phone number or email address you provide must be used and not changed. If you change your phone number then you better update right away or you might be locked out.
It was a wonderful experience knowing my identity is secure and that they know it's really me trying to log in to any government site. I wish they had done this years ago
It took a little time to complete, but it was understandable because I had not been able to access my Social Security for most of the year. I had called many times, but it was never resolved. ID.me was very thorough with verification, and I was not unhappy with that!
I am the victim of financial fraud. The perpetrators posed at ATF and FBI Special Agents and ran a very sophisticated scam. I'm now trying to cover every base that I can to ensure they can't get back at me again.ID.me is one tool to help!
The site recognized I was having difficulty as things would not upload. Thus clicking on a "help" pop up from Just Answer, they recruited me by an offer of $5, you click on OK, give your credit card and suddenly there is a $75 subscription sent to your card. All said and done they could not get any further than I had after working on it for over 1-1/2 hours or more.
THE BIGGEST PROBLE M WAS THAT, BECAUSE OF THE SHUTDOWN, I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW MUCH I OWED, SO COULD ONLY GUESS.
IF THE ONLY WAY THE SET-UP CAN BE COMPLETED IS ON A PHONE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL AND SAVED ME 12+ HOURS OF MY LIFE THAT I CANNOT GET BACK. I'M GLAD THE SERVICE IS THERE AND NOT LEFT TO IRS ITSELF, WITH THE SHUT DOWN, NO MONEY WAS TRANSFERED ANYWAY.
My experience with these guys was awesome the sign was easy and it will verify your identity pretty quick and have you signed in
My experience is on this site right now is very limited until I get deeper into it and start using it more and more but it seems like that I can do a lot lot having to search around
Es muy fácil de usar y es muy buena la aplicación
If you have to recertification 6 months later for unemployment You have to wait for a letter in the mail and the link they sent didn't load on my phone. Maybe the gov.shutdown
This process was very easy, as long as you're familiar with using a smart phone. However, it is recommended to have pen and paper handy to write down information needed for later use in case of issues with the service
