I previously had little experience with ID.me even though I have an account. This time the verification process was a little more involved than the last time because a "video selfie" was required. I'd never done a video selfie in my past. The prompts were good enough to get me through the process and have success on my first try. I was apprehensive. If you are a good instruction follower, have no worries!
I welcome security and it can't be too simple to access. If it is simple to access it simple to hack so I encourage anyone to please be more diligent about your security of private information.
I was at first cautious about the information they were asking for, for verification. But, they gave options thru privacy preference settings, whether to optout of some things. Which I recommend not skipping over.
It is a very detailed, yet pro-active process from start to finish. The process tells the client what to do and when to do it. Some questions to answer, forms to fill and IDs to photograph. With steps to review any needed corrections.
There is a waiting period for document review. Where your told what documents you'll need for the Virtual verification process. Here you'll talk with an agent and verbally verify given information. As well as a visual identification of previously mentioned documents. The process was easy to follow.
Literally had to restart many times just to upload my IDs and finally when I was verified not even one day later my account was suspended for who knows what

I really enjoyed the fact that I could verify with video call because it seems with lots of other sites I don't seem to get the picture of my ID either perfectly pictured to there liking or they won't accept my selfie saying that my ID and selfie don't match. So this process made it super easy and made it so I was approved and verified instantly

Follow directions or get someone to help you BUT a must if you use a tax preparer for your 2025 tax return! You need your cell phone handy as well as you computer to get it done with ease.
