The worst buying online experience ever! The order took a long time to arrive. The color was incorrect and to add insult to injury, RugsDirect did not pay shipping for the return. I will never, never buy from this company again. I encourage everyone who reads my review to buy from Wayfair... a much better experience overall.

I was eagerly awaiting my rug and it took about 3 weeks to receive. It was so low quality that after three weeks of trying to flatten it out, we gave up. You could even see the backing from the top side of the rug!

When I called to return, they happily sent me the RMA along with the $227 quote to ship it back. I paid $239 for it, so that basically means I would get $12 back. Then Annette (customer service) suggests that maybe I should try to sell it on eBay. She goes on to say that their return policy clearly states that the customer is responsible for the shipping on the return. Yes, but they do not tell you that the shipping is about the same price at the merchandise. What a scam!

Ordered a sample from the company bashed off of their description of colors on the rug. Rose and Charcoal are the predominant colors listed. Had I known Navy was the color and not "charcoal" I would have never ordered the $67 sample. When it came it was completely rose and NAVY. I called to explain the challenge I have with their listing. The manager Annette says It is clearly charcoal. Laughable because I sent her the picture in direct light and it use clearly navy. This company is a complete fraud. Can't even credit my account for the $55 and definitely wouldn't credit my account for their "handling fee". Completely a waste of time and money on cheap rugs. It is navy navy navy!

Ordered two matching different sized rugs for one room on Jan 6,2018. Received the smaller one two weeks later. Three weeks after ordering I received an email stating the second rug was on back order with an expected ship date of February 28,2018. On March 5,2018 I received another email now advising of an expected ship date of June 15,2018, which is six months after I placed the order. So I have one useless rug without the other and who the heck knows if I ever will receive the second one. I will never order from this company again.

So, if you want to order from this company be aware you will have no idea if and when your rug will arrive.

I bought a carpet and although the colors are right when you walk on it it looks dirty because of the sheen. When I vacuum it one way it looks new again but as soon as you walk on it the same thing happens, it always looks dirty. When I called to complain they told me I used the wrong vacuum, it is my fault! I have a cordless Shark, nothing strong, just a simple vacuum. So even if I returned the carpet (AT MY EXPENSE $75) it probably would not be accepted by the manufacturer as it looks dirty when you unroll it. Horrible company, horrible carpet, horrible return policy. Do not buy here...

The selection was awesome and the filters to narrow the selection were very good. I was looking for a handmade wool rug. Went to several other rug websites/stores and this Rugs Direct by is the best. Easy to do business with and quick delivery. Rug is gorgeous.

Terrible customer service

I wish I had read reviews before purchasing. I make most purchases on line and have never had an issue with any company until now. Rug arrived and the color was vastly different than pictured. Company was willing to take rug back but I would have to pay for shipping
(around $80). Girl on phone was arguing with me as to the color. I told her I would never have ordered a yellow rug! She said it looked yellow to her on line! Arguing with customers?!?! Told her the pad was not scheduled to arrive until tomorrow so to cancel the order. She said she couldn't do that and I would have to pay to have it shipped back as well. I ordered this small rug as an entry rug since winter is coming but am in the market for 2 over sized wool rugs but will certainly not be ordering from Rugs Direct. The pad is not a big deal because I will use it for whatever new rug I order somewhere else. STAY AWAY!

I ordered the blue rug which I really like as seen in the photo. Instead I received a rug that looks nothing like what I ordered. The tag and labeling was right. I am keeping the rug due to the $60 return fee. Very disappointed!

Back for a 4th

I have 3 of these rugs in different sizes. I just ordered a 4th. I love this rug. I use a lot of navy blue in fabrics and this rug complements them so well.

The home trial is a total joke. It will cost you $$$$ if you need to return the rug. A 5x7 rug, that only weighed 25 lbs, cost me $79 to return via UPS ground due to the extra handling charges. I only paid $214 for the rug! Total rip-off. Shop somewhere else that has a better return policy.

Purchased two rugs online and paid by Paypal. Four months later they said Paypal had made a mistake and charged another amount to my Paypal account. They set up this additional payment as a reoccurring payment on Paypal. I cancelled the reoccurring payment but I guess they have the ability to recharge again and possibly set up a reoccurring payment so they recharge each month. So beware of purchasing from this website!

Worst online experience!

From start to finish this is the worst experience I've had with any online company. Here's the list of complaints - 1) item was not in stock but it was indicated that it was, 2) item was backordered but I only received one notice, 3) my credit card was charged weekly, an authorization of funds for the total amount of the rug, 4) the item did not arrive until 2 months after it was ordered, 5) the item was a completely different color than pictured at the website, 6) when I called customer service saying I wanted to return it I was told I had to pay return shipping.

Bad communication
January 10, 2018

I bought a rug online with Rugs Direct and a few days later I received an email saying that it was backordered and would take 2 additional months to get the rug. I emailed them and spoke to someone telling them that I no longer wanted the rug. I then purchased the rug online from a different company. Then I received a phone call back from Rugs Direct telling me that the rug had already shipped. I explained that I ordered the rug from another company. If I want to return the rug to Rugs Direct, I have to pay for shipping! They will not give pay for the return shipping or give me a promo code for a future purchase! Nothing! I went to so much trouble with this situation! Also, extremely difficult to negotiate the site without having to look at so many rugs!

Website is easy to use, especially liked the see it in your room feature.
Once the floor was installed it looked darker than I wanted so this rug should brighten things up.

DO NOT EVER order a rug from this company if you intend to get it before the current season is over. I ordered my rug three MONTHS ago, and continued to follow up on its whereabouts every few weeks. Various customer service people outright lied, telling me I'd have it by "next Tuesday", etc. It finally arrived here late last week, but I'd already ordered another rug from Grandin Road which arrived four days later, that I've been enjoying for weeks.

Worst experience on line ever, simply misleading customers right and left. Their warranty, guarantee is an useless lie! I am glad i paid with PayPal, so i could get my money back through PayPal. Otherwise, i would've lost it! Believe me STAY AWAY. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, HOUSE OF LIES!

On Jan 1,2020 O ordered a beautiful beachy, nautical rug. After I purchased it I decided to look at the reviews. I was shocked at the bad reviews. I had noticed they took the money out of my acct almost immediately. Then I noticed I never received a confirmation in my email. I seriously was going to cancel the order.The next morning I got up and still no email.So my husband called the company. Unfortunately, I cant remember who the rep was other then it was a woman.The rep had said there was some issues with my emailacct provider and it went in my spam mail. I looked in my spam and there it was... Then the rep proceeded to tell my husband that the rug was in stock and we should receive it in 7 to 10 business days. Well, fast forward till today on Jan 4,2020 I received my rug. Only 4 days! Wahoo! The rug was neatly and securely packaged. When I opened it up to my amazement it was gorgeous! Thank you Rug Direct... So glad I didnt cancel..

Buyer beware!

Ordered a wool rug from this company and they sent me a completely different rug, asking for photos before they can authorize a return and telling me they will not pay for return shipping even if it is their error. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE RIP OFF ARTISTS! Photo #1 was what the website had shown & #2 is what they sent.

I am shopping for an area rug and stopped in at a local carpet shop recently and received a quote. I emailed the company representative for the quotes on the rug and sizes I was interested in. And, I received the email in return with the pricing.

I then surfed the net to see if anyone had better pricing and what that pricing would be etc. I contacted Rugs Direct for a price quote and asking them about their price matching policy. Yes, they priced matched plus 10% so I wanted to be clear as to what that 10% represented. The customer service rep wanted a price verification which is standard business policy. I gladly forwarded the email I received from the local company with pricing clearly stated.

Their company rep emailed me back with and here is the quote: "Would it be at all possible to get a more formal quote. Unfortunately, I am unable to accept this. Not saying that you did or would alter the pricing...

The insulting insinuation that a customer would alter the price was appalling. Especially when it is so easily verified with a phone call.

The take-a-way result of a company not accepting email quotes is that I would conclude is that I would need verification of Rugs Direct on a company letterhead with their representative signing the quote.

Email quotes is standard business policy but I guess Rugs Direct really doesn't want to match pricing. Just a come-on. I would never trust an email from this company. They may come back on you and tell you that you altered it!
