Bought a doorbell from Costco with one year cloud service offered by Ring. Ring failed to honor the offer even after seeing my receipt. They asked to present Costco sale history even though I presented the still ongoing sales information. You know what is going to be end up. Return ring doorbell and a home security system I bought earlier and tell all people around me not buying ring products!

Absolutely no helpful and honest customer service. See all poor reviews. System is slow and not fit for purpose. Should not be on market. It is slowly getting worse. I would not be shocked if it eventually stops operating. Keep away from this below standard company. Images attached are common issues. Slow or no loading

I ordered and paid for 3 cameras. I got 1. When I contacted ring they told me to contact the shipping carrier. Really? I kept calling back complaining and they said "your case has been escalated" Week later, no response and they actually blocked me from chatting with them because I got upset. So I took it to my credit card and Paypal and filed a dispute. Thankfully, they saw that RIng is a joke and refunded my money. I will never buy another ring product in my life. Horrible company.

Set up Ring alarm which works Ok. Limited connectivity with non-Ring products and inability to set auto on/off in "home" (stay) mode at night. Not compatible with IFTTT.

Base station beeps upon entry to let potential thieves know where it is and smash/disconnect it so it's useless after that.

Ordered additional sirens. Never shipped even though emails said it had. Customer service told me to keep waiting. Tracking on their own website said it was still in warehouse. Emails ignored. Called again and told they "escalated" my case. Still nothing. Finally called and insisted on refund. Whole saga took about a month to get my $ back. Terrible customer service! Stay away from Ring. There are alternatives!

After 30 days of installation completion, all videos were erased. I could only see a video in live time. I kept getting a note via email saying I would have to purchase a plan to keep them. Perhaps Ring should tell the salesmen at Best Buy that since Amazon took control of Ring, your policies have changed. No more free seven days (forever) then erase.

I apologize for any miscommunication but we will work on providing even more transparency to our customers as we can in the future.Our optional Protect Plans allow you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to Live View.

It works half way

In my opinion this is unfair. Ring app always crashes. PERIOD. I have about 10 cameras and the price was fair but reliability is a joke. All of a sudden your dogs are going crazy., you sign in... Crash. It's not my phone. There is a reason there is so many used on ebay. Please step up.

They finally came through

Since my review last week, I was contacted by Ring to work with their "Neighborhood Advocate". Within a couple of days they finally said they would send me a new device. I received it today and installed it promptly. As soon as it powered on it immediately started the set-up process. One slight hiccup in the set-up is I guess they are trying to avoid going out of the app to change your wi-fi to the ring wi-fi so the part that is supposed to automatically join the "ring network" did not work properly. I did it the 'old fashioned' way and it worked. Within minutes I received an e-mail from customer support, stating that they noticed the new device was on-line and if I had any questions. So persistence paid off however, it was a very long and arduous process.

It took 13 e-mails for them to finally tell me that they were not going to replace their faulty ring pro.At one point I was asked if I could send them a picture of the original box! Their condescending e-mails remained consistent with phrases such as "I am so sorry for your experience with the Ring product! I understand how it is important to have a working device, and I would be frustrated as well in this situation! I do apologize for all inconveniences, but due to our policy, we can not replace the device"

The Best Camera Ever!

I just purchased a ring 3 plus and it does a great job! Very clear and picks up motions quickly. I feel more secured at night and when I'm away from my house with this device. This is definitely a five star rating!

I was growing accustomed to the ring experience overall I found it to be rather helpful but then a few nights ago at 3am the alert went from "motion detected in daughters room" to "there is a person in daughters room" and i almost died. I am not sure why you would find that updating "motion" to "person" would be a good thing especially when I am sure you are well aware of how sensitive the cameras are. I am hoping that you guys go back to motion instead of person because it is very nerve racking, I won't lie - I am currently searching for a new camera system because of this.

Ring documentation

I've had a number of Ring products and so far they have been working fine, however just last week my entry keypad fizzled out. Not sure why but ordered a new one. Very simple instructions even thought the steps weren't consistent with the iphone app. I couldn't get the keypad to connect to the internet through the base station even though the system recognized the keypad. My question is "Why doesn't Ring have a complete manual either online or packaged with their specific products?." Seems to be great products but lack of documentation to consumer. If this is an American company maybe we need to go back to China. At least I can laugh at their language translation.

I have had 1 Ring camera for a few years now. We have Basic service. The image and sound quality is so-so. The features are minimal and have not changed since i subscribed years ago. Took a long time to get it dialed in the way it was most useful for us. Today I get notice my bill is going up 25%. My service did not get 25% better, no features were added, the customer service rep I contacted could not provide a reason for the increase. Everything is automated, no labor costs involved. Basically no reason for price increase other than they can. When confronted with these facts, the customer service rep abruptly disconnected and ended our conversation. This is the trend nowdays, bend over and take it because they can. Add to that the terrible customer service and restricting the authority to make decisions to retain customers. Well Ring, you are not the only game in town and I have choices. I will be exploring those choices and may just toss your old tech in the garbage.

Bought a ring battery doorbell. I have a super wifi system... but it takes way too long to respond. If you expect to see someone at your door when you are home or are away from home forget it! By the time you can get live video they are long gone. If we had not bought the little chime units it would be useless!
Battery lasts about 3 weeks.
Really your are spending a lot of money for a remote doorbell! And saving the vids on the website is 30 bucks a year! A waste of good money for my purpose which was security...

On June 18 at 9:07 PM a white female will see you walking around on my patio by way of my ring camera. I sent a post in the recorded video to ring who refuse to post it. I don't understand why I look at missing animal videos all day, long and other videos of people lurking in neighbors yards or around neighbors homes. I had a very clear view of this young lady. I was out doing laundry and I'm black so ring….What was the problem?

I have my whole house set up via ring. The outdoor cameras batteries do not last at all, which make them useless. I find myself constantly having to change and charge them. It is so much of a hassle. Now that I have spent so much money, I wish I'd gone with a better company that has way longer lasting batteries. Plus, they increased their price of monitoring the company is a joke.

Piece of crap!

Piece of crap! Every time something actually happens, the screen is black! For Halloween, we put out a bowl of candy by our front door with our porch light on and a paper taped to the door that said Take 1 Happy Halloween! When I got to the door all the candy in the bowl was gone! I watched the video that it recorded and the screen just stayed black! My sons scooter was also stolen from our front yard while having the ring doorbell and the screen was black that time too! There are more videos that are black than videos that actually recorded what was going on! We've called customer service to help and it still does it. The doorbell is fairly close to our WiFi router. And we rarely have problems with our internet. I hate this door bell, I hope my review will help others realize that this was a horrible product before making the mistake of purchasing it, like I did!

What a s''t company.
They don't tell you when you buy that after 30 days you won't be able to record or save any activity. You have to sign up for a service to capture and save any recordings, which basically means your purchase was a complete waste!
So don't waste your time unless you want another subscription service to your growing list of blood sucking sellers out to get your continuing revenue stream.

Ring doorbell 3, what a con!
October 7, 2022

Bought this to add to security at our house after problems with a visitor. No mention of having to subscribe when purchasing, then after 28 days the thing is useless after the trial period expires. If I had known this would have not entertained a purchase, do not buy, it's a con.

Because I owned a device more than 10 years ago, I cannot be verified on a new device unless I do it from the old device I had in 2009!

Or I can set aside 30-45 mins to undergo the verification process.

So, back to amazon everything goes. I will be sure not to ever buy anything from Ring again.

If you do, dont EVER change phones!

I've had the Ring for quite awhile; like others, I really wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. What I now doubt is that it will ever work correctly. I have the hard-wired one and I even bought a new recommended by Ring transformer for the doorbell. It made no difference. When the doorbell is depressed, it freezes EVERYTIME! Hey Ring, take a look at my doorbell history and you'll see it. The whole point for me was to be able to talk to those ringing my bell. But alas, no. We test it, we try it, etc. no good. By the way, we are a tech savvy home. This has been a waste of money and a huge waste of time. Looks like an example of you get what you pay for. I'm tearing this thing out and buying something more robust.

I have been a Ring owner and subscriber for almost 2 years.

I started out with 1 camera and now have 3. The camera's are very durable and work well in all climates.

They are up and running 99.99% of the time…all of the time.

One of my camera's runs on a solar panel and it always holds a charge regardless of sunlight.

Customer support is satisfactory but could use a little improvement do the fact that sometimes it is a little difficult to understand what they are saying on the phone.

Overall a great product.
