System did not function from the first moment. Service calls last over 1 hour to no avail. Each service representative will provide a different possible solution, contradicting the prior rep. No success and they just want you off the phone. Do not buy any of their products.
Took 3 months to set up a Ring camera / floodlight, then after 6 months of working, the cold weather here in WI wrecked the thing. Ring is aware, admits that cold weather is a problem, but never offered an apology. In order to get a replacement, I have to jump through multiple hoops (including giving them my credit card). Beware! Go with a security company... don't waste your time on this product!
I spent over $500 for Ring doorbell, cam, and booster and it works when it wants, I asked for refund but never hear from anyone. Do not waste your money or time with this company they have terrible customer service. Steve M.
I'd suggest avoiding this product. I have 2 and will be replacing very soon with a better option
This door bell records almost every car that drives by my home even though it's set to record only humans and the motion zones are set well back from the road. The worse part is, in the past 2 weeks I've had pizza delivery driver walk up to the doorbell and 2 ups deliveries dropped right in front of the door bell with zero notification. The back door bell is battery operated so I ordered the solar panel which did not work at all
Avoid this product
Should have read these reviews and would have known better. No where in the description of the product did i see I would have to purchase a plan to retain and view videos. I talked our church into these cameras instead of a security system. We bought 4 flood light cameras and were very pleased with the video quality and operation most of the time. Then I find we must spend another $100 a year for video recording. What is up with that? Was planning to buy them for my house also but I think I will choose a different route possibly now. Cameras should be much cheaper if charging for a service. Buyer beware.
Hi Jack,
I am sorry to hear about this poor and inconvenient Ring experience. We do notify our customers about the cloud plan on our website (https://shop.ring.com/pages/protect-plans), in your Ring app during the first free 30-day trial of our cloud plan, as well as in your email about this service. I apologize for any miscommunication but we will work on providing even more transparency to our customers as we can in the future. Additionally, our optional Protect Plan allows you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to Live View.
Would you please email me at Kandyce@ring.com?
I would appreciate the chance to turn your Ring experience around for you.

Camera worked for 3 hours then reported "no internet connection". Customer Service had NO idea how to fix. Despite 126GB of memory, customer service blamed issue on "not even memory to run videos". (Remember it was broadcasting for 3 hours)
Call ended without camera working.
Amazon (Ring) believes if they keep saying "I'm sorry for you inconvenience" they'll win you over. This as repeated so many times I asked the associate to stop. Despite this, they continued... as it's a part of their script. Just an example of how they don't listen to or respect the customer.
I bought 4 cameras only two worked properly right out of the box. Video quality extremely low sound even worse. Delay in notice time? Your better off with notice off its about the same. End of story they're all going back. Good idea, extremely poor execution.
Hi Allen,
Oh no! I definitely would like a second opportunity to get your devices working as they should so that you can rely on your devices at all times. Would you kindly reach me at Kandyce@ring.com today so that I can take a look into the concerns you mention in the above review? I am confident we can turn this around for you.

This thing is a piece of crap. After less than 2 years it is dead. It has been nothing but headaches and it always lost connection despite good signal and good voltage strength. I called the support desk and they said, "yep it's dead. We would be happy to put you on a $100 a year plan". I declined and said I'd find another device.
Save yourself frustration by choosing another brand.
Absolutely ridiculous. It would get zero stars if I could.

Got camera as Christmas gift. Called for help because it picks up everything but not in a timely manner.
Alarms when it snows
Alarms when it is cold
Alarms when it rains.
Alarms wit road traffic even when sensitivity turned to lowest.
Notifications of activity were 5 to 10 minutes after actual activity.
I ried to return and was told because I had it for 65 days no refund available. On Feb 7 I was given a return address. I sent it FedEx. Never heard from them since.
Will never recommend any of their products.
My son is out the $300 for the unit.
PS I live in Western Mass.
My ring doorbell stopped working after owning it less than 2 years. I went through a lot of trouble shooting on the phone with a ring doorbell technician. He came to the conclusion that it's broken. So, the option he gave me was to buy another one?!? He will give me a 30% discount. Why would anyone buy another device that may break so that they'd have to purchase yet another? I'm guessing not too many people take that offer. Very disappointed that the company doesn't stand behind it's product. I'll be buying a different brand for my next doorbell.
All the reviews I've read here are accurate. Slow response time. Work when it's wants to. Poor customer service. Dead batteries all the time. One thing I would like to ad is false alarms. I can have someone pull into my driveway and the stupid won't go off but if a large truck drives by it triggers it every time! Sure it offers fancy adjustments to fine tune it but It doesn't work! I fiddled with it way to long. And if you call customer service you'll only get canned answers. I hate this product!
Hi Tom P.,
I am so sorry to hear about your poor experience. Setting up the motion detector does require a bit of maneuvering to find the sweet spot. I understand you have spent more time and energy in trying to resolve this with our support team already; however, I would love the opportunity to make sure we get to the bottom of this for you and come to a resolution without any hassle or delay. Would you contact me at kandyce@ring.com today so that I can turn this experience around for you? I would appreciate this second opportunity in hopes to keep you a part of the Ring family. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,

Constant false notifications, even when changing to the least sensitive settings. The camera doesn't capture any of my stoop (even with the overpriced angle base attachment) and the camera can only start seeing the area about 6 feet out from my door, so I'm unable to check the live view to see if there is a package currently sitting at my front door. I'm going to have to mount the Ring 12 inches off the ground so I'll be able to adequately see my stoop and anyone approaching it without 50 false notifications each day. I would not recommend this product.
Something fishy going on. Cameras can never show time of incident? On any camera that particular time is missing? (Wish I could show video how time is completely skipped over not on one camera but all of them (2) Said videos are kept at least 30 days yet on 9/14 can only go back to 8/31? If you question them they block you? Don't bother calling the police…they are the police. (3) Cameras never show mailman when he steps on my property (even though my property is well in view of my camera) but only when he gets to the mailbox. Things missing after you come back from vacation…no camera footage.
At approximately 12:06 am on 11/10/18, I was watching tv in my bedroom & received a motion alert on my ring! I went to investigate and found my 7 yr old nephew sleep walking outside near the garage yelling this brothers name! Thank god for the alert this could have been bad if he entered the street!
Never loads fast enough for the live stuff... y'know like answering your doorbell. Misses important stuff like package theft, but catches spiders building webs. Customer support takes at least an hour to talk to a live person. Chat is worthless.
Hi Renee,
I am sorry to hear about your less than excellent Ring experience. The delay is normally attributed to WiFi/bandwidth connection but we'd be happy to further investigate this for you. Additionally, do you have any major appliances between your router and device? Would you be so kind as to email me directly at Kaitlyn.rosenthal@ring.com? At this point, I would like to step in and be your direct point of contact here at Ring. It is imperative to me that we get your Ring device working consistently to your expectations and I would like to make sure that this happens for you today.
Thanks,

After a year they disable your doorbell and try to ransom it back to working by making you pay a monthly fee. Your India rep will be more than happy to take your credit info over phone, not gonna happen. Stay as far away as possible from this product.
We have had ours for over a year. They keep changing the interface which really isn't a big problem just annoying! It worked well when we first got it but after all the "improvements" half the time it does not pick up motion even when someone is standing right in front of it! But not to worry it picks up vehicles 100%! I would give it a zero on this site if I could. We will be getting something else this thing is totally worthless!
We have had our ring doorbell 2 and chime up for 6 months. The chime does nothing but gives a audible bell... there is no difference in connectivity with or without it. The doorbell randomly loses connection. If it is connected the lag between an event and video is about 1.5 minutes. Totally useless. The battery lasts about 2 weeks on a full charge. Customer service asks for endless info and screenshots but never offers a solution. Worst product and company EVER.
Ring might have a very good easy to install alarm system but their customer service is the worst I have come across in this time when technology is so advanced. If you cancel some as simple as an order before it was even shipped be prepared for the inadequate and totally inefficient service you will ever receive for a company. I am hoping their alarm systems does not have the same inadequacies. Very poor!
I have a ring doorbell and it's always lagging. My wifi is great, so I just don''t understand. Also, when it starts to record, it records when like the person is leaving which makes this security doorbell pointless. I also participated in the referral program and got 25 people to download the app, but my order was cancelled because the company "detected there were non-existent/spam accounts". Customer service (Melissa T.) was not helpful, so I don't even know why I bothered referring people in the first place. I might look into nest instead of ring.
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
Ring has a rating of 1.3 stars from 773 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Ring most frequently mention customer service, door bell and live view. Ring ranks 166th among Home Security sites.
