IT WORKS! IT REALLY DOES! Rings excellent Neighbor Advocate and 2nd. Level systems technician were able to get my Ring system to perform the way it is portrayed on T. V. that is: rapid visual access and audio response to whoever or whatever triggered it (within about 4 or 5 seconds of the alert). It took the extra effort from Rings 2nd. Level tech. Support and the Neighbor Advocate to remotely access my computer so that the Wi-Fi/cable modems settings could be checked and adjusted to allow the Ring signals to properly communicate with Rings cloud (remote) server/signal processer. What they accomplished was, in my opinion, beyond the capability of a non-technically oriented individual (read my opinion/recommendation, following).

In my opinion, as recommended to Rings personnel, because of the many variables impacting the Rings performance (and any company's "cloud" based video/audio monitoring and response system), I recommend that it be installed and set up by a tech-savvy individual working with Ring's 2nd. Level tech. Support personnel (really good to work with) or have the installation and setup performed by a company experienced installing Ring and experienced with the vagaries of Wi-Fi, the internet, modems, and data transmission to insure its proper operation from the get-go. Otherwise, as do-it-yourself project for a non-technical individual or an inexperienced installation company, it might be a real challenge to achieve the best performance possible.

The video image is high-resolution, with beautiful color rendition and really good
Night-vision.

The audio portion provides clear 2-way voice communications. I now recommend the Ring DoorbellPro system especially following the aforementioned installation recommendations. IT WORKS! IT REALLY DOES!

It pays to pursue the correction of a problem.

Ring is a bit better but still not reliable enough to trust

Cameras (2), too many times, take a long time to go live and disconnect from the Ring on-line server too often - rendering them not very useful in situations that require really fast 'live' activation. My ISP is super fast and reliable, the signal strengths of the two Ring units are strong. All technical specifications are met.

Ring's customer service has improved a bit over that of a year or so ago,

Not ready for prime-time

3 months in with the doorbell pro, the floodlamp camera and the chime pro. The system DOES NOT work as shown on TV by its inventor. The system's processing, done at Ring, takes the data from the doorbell or floodlight camera, processes it and returns it to you for viewing on a smart phone, etc. It is supposed to allow you to immediately respond to the doorbell or an intruder picked up by the camera and also immediately speak to them or trigger the siren. IT DOES NOT! The processing by Ring blocks the immediate viewing of the image and using the intercom. The display showing a fuzzy stationary image of a past recorded event and a spinning cursor. During this signal processing time at Ring, the unit is dead to you. Whatever was picked up by the camera(s) and recorded can been seen only after a minute or more (I have experienced up to 4 minutes delay)- after the triggering event. IT IS, IN MY OPINION, TOTALLY WORTHLESS as a rapid response security device or access monitor. POST EVENT reaction is not what is advertised.

Many hours (yes, many) have been spent talking with Ring people and via e-mail to no avail. Also, I am now on the 3rd. Chimepro - apparently quality assurance is not a priority. IN MY OPINION RING IS NOT LIVING UP TO ITS PROMISE AND I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE PURCHASE A RING PRODUCT. PERHAPS IN THE FUTURE... BUT NOT NOW!

Hi Doctor B.,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and I'm sorry to hear about the delay you are experiencing. Assuming your Wi-Fi speed meets the minimum requirements, you can try rebooting your router and the mobile phone/tablet/PC you're accessing the video feed on and see if there's any difference when it's back online. I want to make sure we get to the bottom of this for you. Please reach me directly at Kandyce@ring.com today to address further. I want to do my best to turn this experience around for you so that you are able to rely on your Ring devices.

Thank you,
Kandyce K., Neighbor Satisfaction Manager
