Ring.com is the worst of the worst. One star rating is so unfair. They easily deserve minus 10 stars.
75 Hours spent on set up over 6 months. Even their technical support could not set up and all what they offer is try on your own."
I am more than frustrated at the junk you sell and I want to let as many people as possible know the truth. No customer ever should spend dozens and dozens of his life going into endless repeated loops of installation over such a long period and the only thing your phone support could offer, when they did not solve the problem, is to reset the account and leave you to try alone from the beginning with the same endless loops and the same problem repeating again and again with no definitive solution for the junk you sell.
If you want I will be gland to oblige you with a copy of what I believe about Ring and its customer service that I will be posting everywhere for the next three years hoping to save some fellow human beings the agony of dealing with such inefficiency.

Someone hacked into my cameras this week - BEWARE!
Someone hacked into my cameras at around 1:40am Tuesday night, hoping to get a show.
Then, he hacked into the 2-way speaker the following night at roughly the same time. That time he spoke to me in a whisper (the entire time). He called me by my full name. He said he was coming over. And I question how much information he has since he knows my full name.
This was very creepy, and scary. I am not happy with the way Ring is "handling" the matter.
This device is marketed to the public as a security device that is vulnerable to hackers and criminal activity, thus stripping Ring customers of any security they intended to gain from purchasing such a phony piece of equipment in the first place. Ring cameras are weaponized against its customers through terrorists who are not held accountable because Amazon refuses to be accountable to its consumers.
Shame on Amazon, shame on Ring, shame on Bezos.
If you insist on continuing to use this piece of garbage make sure you have a firewall, VPN, 2-step authentication, reset your Ring password frequently, reset your Amazon password frequently, set up 2 step sign in for your Amazon as well, and reset your WiFi password and WiFi name (don't keep the generic name and password it came with).
Ring is a joke. Get a real security system. Stop giving your money to a "security"company that isn't going respond swiftly in a matter where safety is concerned.
This was a complete invasion of my privacy. A trespass.
Peeping Tom and loitering is a criminal activity. In the state of California you need two consenting parties to a recording. When Amazon is not actively/proactively preventing this from happening on their Ring platform then Amazon is a willing participant in the crime that is committed against its consumers. Amazon is part of the problem and misleading the public.
Of course I tried notifying my Ring Neighbors, and Ring denied me the ability to warn my community.
Something is wrong when the producer won't let others read your review about their product.
Apparently, I can only post about lost dogs or stolen Amazon packages on the Ring community. I am not able to post about a real crime that was committed against me, in my home home, with the Ring product. I'll say it again, Ring is a joke.

Don’t bother. This product/company isn’t worth your hard earned money or peace of mind. Get a real security system. Ring is not it.
Stick up cam, doorbell
Purchased a peephole cam for my daughters apartment. Less than 1 1/2 years later the camera started playing video in black and white only and sometimes nothing at all. 3 hours on the phone with ring. They didn't care. They hacked into cam to tell me what the problem was. Said they would send part necessary to fix it. Then they said they couldn't send part. Tole me I had to buy her a new camera. They would give me a small discount. Looked up the camera and it turns out I need to purchase it as a bundle with a chime. I explained I don't want a chime, don't need a chime and am not paying for something I don't need. They said that is the only way I can buy the camera. My daughter gets all the alerts she needs on her phone. Has an apartment and doesn't need a chime. They said my warranty was up 5 months ago so they won't replace the camera. I had $260.00 wrapped up in the first one counting 2 extra rechargeable batteries.
Why do I want to buy something I don't need. I don't even trust the camera will last more than 1 1/2 years and I can't buy her one every year and a half. They don't care and they don't stand behind their product.
Potentially cost them a lot. Many other tenants at the apartment complex were interested in one and management possibly was too. We are telling all of them to consider something else.
Customer service was a nightmare. Look for another camera before you get a RING.

I am not a huge reviewer but in this case I want to make sure all people are informed about what I would call a huge security flaw with RING. I copied this from the review I left on TrustPilot... that's how frustrated with RING and the lack of security it really provides.
I really had high hopes with the RING. It is not really good on live camera streaming (uses static IP addresses for best connectivity) and it is really slow to connect even when the camera is 10 feet away. As for the security alarm system I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. There is one situation that the RING does not cover... if you are at HOME and someone breaks your glass door or window, they can enter your home and have their way with your family. The RING does not support a GLASS BREAK sensor while in the HOME mode. I asked RING if there was a work a round and they kept side stepping the simple question I kept asking, which was the scenario I listed above. Below is a small extract of my chat session with RING, just in case you may not think this is a legitimate review. I am upset since you would think that when you subscribe to a security system you get a full security system... how sad for me!---------transcript extract -------------------------------------------------
ME
So just to be clear, the RING does not safe guard that situation where an intruder can break glass while my family is a sleep and walk straight into my home and do what ever they want. Just answer yes or no.
Just remember HOME intrusion is real! That is why we buy security systems to act as a deterrent.
RING
At the moment we do not have glass breaking sensors as they are still in development. Glass breaking sensors are still being developed. Ring will make announcements as new capabilities are added to the Ring Alarm.
ME
You did not answer the question: YES or NO. No sales pitch please. I now know you don't have a fully integrated break glass sensor. Please don't repeat that sales response.
How did RING expect to safe guard the scenario where an intruder breaks my glass door while I am at home a sleep? Just answer "The RING does not handle this situation"!
Keep it simple Donaldo.
RING
Please bear with me as I am having my team look into your question. One moment please
ME
Thanks
This is an extremely important situation and If the RING does not handle this I want others to know they don't since this is a BIG problem. People leave their young teens at home while stepping out to do business... this is a situation I cannot afford to be a option.
RING
Thank you for your patience as I am still reaching out to my team, should only be another moment
ME
Okay
RING
Thank you for waiting. I checked with my team for alternative solutions for a glass breaking sensor when the system is in Home mode.
Regarding your question, at the moment we do not have coverage for glass breaking when the system is in away mode as alexa guard can only monitor glass breaking on Away mode at the moment.
ME
So the RING does NOT protect my family when we are at home and an intruder breaks a glass door and steps in?
You keep avoiding answering the question

Invasion of privacy taking our money
Warning, Avoid these scammers!
The support level if anything goes wrong is shameful and a scam! Here is a log of painful calls with 20mins waiting times:
25/11/17: Purchase ring bell
26/11/17: Broken Ring bell, get informed by Support Service Jasmine that a new bell will be sent out. No need to send replacement bell back. (requestID: plc5a12-bcf3)
30/11/17: Call up Ring requesting Update on replacement. Told it has already been 100% shipped and no problems. Asked to confirm this twice.
2/12/17: Call up Whitney E. Only to be told that NO Replacement has been shipped! They will get another replacement sent off. I also requested by email a letter confirming the fault of original bell.
3/12/17: Receive no email of fault. Also get told I MUST provide Credit card information now!
So I call back and speak to Tiffany C. And get told for replacement on broken bells, they need your card number. Without this they will not send out any replacement for broken bells. So instead of the bell, I now request on a replacement base which does not need credit card information. (Request ID: plc4ad1-c26b)
9/12/17: STILL no tracking information or update on replacements. I call up and speak to the management Eric Robles after 20mins call on hold. To my shock he tells me all 3 replacement parts are on status "Pending". They were never sent out in first place.
He offers to personally arrange for this to be sent (under requestID: plc3dc2-6a7d) and will provide me with regular updates. As compensation he will send out a free Chime and 6months Cloud service free.
18/12/17: Several emails and have heard nothing from management Eric Robles. It has been 4 weeks and no replacements for the bell have been sent out. And every time I call same story
Ring is a disgrace and embarrassment. No one is capable for sending out replacements to the UK for broken parts even after speaking to the management. The whole company is scam and unprofessional. No matter how many times you call you get staff who provide inadequate support, lie and incapable of completing requests.
Avoid and look at other competitors.
To begin with, I do indeed stand by my original statement. I have several points to add, but I must admit Ring did reach out in a big way and stood up to try to resolve my issues. I will say at this time, they have succeeded.

Immediately after posting the initial review (10-2-17) 3 separate representatives from Ring contacted me and their first step was to send out all new equipment to eliminate the possibility of faulty gear. This arrived within about 3 days. It would require removing the first light and disconnecting the electrical wiring. I had a licensed electrician perform this as I did not want to be responsible for damage of gear voiding whatever arrangement there may have been. Once completed, they contacted me by phone to review what had occurred to date. They did do much of the same useless stuff (checking modem speed, moving of the signal enhancer 'Chime Pro', resetting the floodlight, etc.) This was to no avail.
--
Out of desperation, I purchased a new, faster modem/router combination figuring if this did not do it, then that was that. The new modem, at first, proved to be of NO help. It still did not work! So before my head exploded, on the advise of several tech support people from Apple and my own internet service provider, I would start from the beginning and make sure all system software was up to date, including wifi firmware, de-installing all ring apps of all devices, and making sure all security updates were current. THEN AND ONLY THEN would I reinstall ring software, attempt to re-establish connection, and FINALLY the signal showed strong enough to operate as it is commercially advertised. It now works perfectly well. Ring was involved throughout the entire re-upgrading and did their level best from their end.

IN FINAL SUMMATION:
If anyone reading this wants this product, it does indeed do what it advertises...
Providing a number of elements on the owner's end are dutifully fulfilled FIRST:
1. Likely the speed of your home internet will not be fast enough
2. Prepare to pay for faster internet
3. Likely the modem/router provided by your ISP will NOT be able to let that new service you are now paying for exercise its full potential
4. Prepare to pay for a new modem/router in my case this was a Netgear D7000
5. Prior to hooking up the new modem, ensure system software and security are up to date, for BOTH home (to properly run the new modem) and cell phone (to run Ring App)
6. Make sure you have a newer cell phone
7. Do everything listed in the order I have or you will be chasing your tale for several days
8. THEN install the Ring App on the cell phone(s)
9. THEN attempt the connection of the Ring device as the absolute final step
10. Any breeches or omissions will likely result in the nightmare I have wrestled with for several months.
--
Many of the things I have listed here may seem obvious to more tech savvy folks, but it is worthy of note that in the case of Ring products ALL things must require addressing or it simply will not perform with any consistency. Follow these steps and you likely will have a headache free experience. All totaled it was more than the $250 outlay for the floodlight, but it did do as they stated and very well.
