I wish I had seen this site earlier. We called the hotel in San Jose del Cabo and made a reservation for two rooms. We were told that if we cancelled by 3/21/20 we could receive a refund. We received a confirmation though reservation.com. The hotel routed our request through this company without even telling us about it. We did try to cancel and did so in a timely manner. But two months later, giving them a copy of our phone records showing we cancelled on time, I receive a letter telling me they can't refund us because of the "unique policy" in our confirmation letter. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. MAKE SURE YOU ASK THE HOTEL IF THEY ARE USING A THIRD PARTY FOR THE RESERVATIONS. THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM. AND, THE HOTEL WE USED TO LOVE IS NOW PART OF THE SCAM TOO!
I made reservations for volleyball tournament in Reno
At Atlantis Hotel, unfortunately the road was closed because the bad whether in California,
I been refund full amount regarding my booking
Thank you for doing that
Thank you Reservations.com for helping us book our hotel. We've had a bad experience with a booking site before but glad that it didn't happen to us again with you. Keep up the good work!
I didn't even mean to buy here but they totally tricked me! I realized the price was way higher than what it was suppose to be after paying! They don't show you the full price after paying. I called to cancel inmediatly after the reservation, but they don't give the money back. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
These guys are something else. I made a reservation from canada and found out when my card was billed that it was US funds even after i had said Canada on place of residence. I contacted them immediately to say that I did not realize this and would like to have the charge reversed and the reservation cancelled I was told that this was impossible as it was non refundable I argued with them to no avail They said they could cancel but would not get my money back. Worst thing is I was under the impression I was on the hotel site itself as i queried that on google I ended up paying over $100 more than it would have been with the hotel for a two night stay NO CLIENT SERVICE
I used the telephone number on the hotels web site and it was reservations.com and did not know it at the time! I booked and my daughter booked calling direct. On our way, we were discussing the room…she paid a total of $142 including taxes for one nite. They charged me $222 for one nite having the same room! I called to cancel and they would NOT cancel as I could have gotten a KING SUITE FOR $165 TAXES INCLUDED! DO NOT EVER USE RESERVATIONS.COM! I talked to the hotel and they said they have been trying to get their phone number off their site for years and have not been able to do so. Long story short…ALWAYS CALL THE HOTEL DIRECT!
DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH RESERVATION.COM. BE CAREFUL BOOKING ONLINE BECAUSE THEY CLONE HOTEL WEBSITES, AND YOU WILL THINK YOU ARE BOOKING THROUGH THE HOTEL WEBPAGE, BUT IT IS THESE RIPOFFS. I WISH I COULD RATE THEM AT ZERO INSTEAD OF 1.
I Google searched a hotel that I had recently stayed at. My top search ended up with the Hotel name, inferring that the booking site was associated with the hotel.
Upon booking and receiving my confirmation email, I was shocked to see that my reservation was charged, not held. This was inconsistent with other bookings. Further to my shock was my booking rate was converted to USD! I called Reservations (hotel reservations in my mind) within 1 minute to inquire and request a cancellation, as the fees were beyond what I was approved by my company to expense. I was told that the booking company was not associated with the hotel (despite the fraudulent Google listing) and also that the fee was non-refundable (despite there being a cancellation fee structure outlined in the cancellation policy).
This company is completely fraudulent and obviously relies on slick SEO and misleading information to bait and switch customers. I'm not even sure why they have a Customer Service department. There obviously is no customer service. Judging by the consumer rating and sheer volume of complaints on this company, I guess it's a complaint line to field calls with "too bad for you" auto replies.
I want to warn you about a fraudulent company. Be sure that when you call your hotel to make a reservation that you call the hotel directly. I thought I had called mine directly and when I questioned if I was speaking to the hotel directley the representative for Reservations.com blatantly lied and said he was a clerk at the Econo lodge. Their customer service dept. refused to cancel my reservation based on their lie. It is ok, i have my reservation and my plans with my mom and sister at no extra cost to me. But it will cost this fraudulent company alot more by the time I am done warning my colleagues, friends and familiy to watch out for them and posting it on every media sight and trip advisor available
Was scheduled for brain-injury surgery - booked and paid for 2 rooms. I thought I was booking with hotel and not another company.
My surgery was cancelled a day beforehand. When I talked to them I was told too late - no refund.
I didn't want to lose that money so was convinced best route was to make it an open-date booking which ended up costing as much as original booking. When I came to my senses I cancelled that and demanded a refund. That came the next week.
I know I should not have trusted them with the agent having a yappy little dog in the background and the sound cutting out.
RUN LIKE HECK AWAY FROM RESERVATIONS.COM
I live in Calgary, Alberta and went on line to book a room near Edmonton, Alberta. I found the hotel I wanted to stay at. Booked it and when the confirmation was emailed to me I discovered that it was in US dollars. I immediately called to find out why it was in US dollars. Was told that if I reviewed the reservation it says US dollars.
THEY ALSO CHARGE A NON REFUNDABLE FEE
When I looked closer, it indicates US funds at the bottom of page 8 ( which is after room choices, amenities, description and finally reviews.) Then in small Grey scale is the currency choice.
Why would the original search not indicate currency type?
I see why Reservation.com is rated so poorly. WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE ELSE.

I am glad I am not the only tard out there that got ripped off by these CROOKS, I to was duped by a redirection to this awful place. I will never ever book through these people again. Worst service I have ever seen and unlike most of the reviews they will not REFUND any of my booking.
DIRTY Awful people. I really hope this helps to put this joke out of business.
Tried to cancel within minutes of making the reservation. They would not refund charges. The reservation was for 7 days in the future. I recommend NO ONE use this booking site EVER.
I made a reservation, specifically asked if I was speaking with Sheraton Hotel reservations, and wanted to make sure that I received my Sheraton rewards and questioned the difference on the price! The guys told me 2 different times that I was speaking with Sheraton, but he couldn't pull up my rewards number at the moment. Told me the difference in price was due to taxes. Since, I was in my car, and the difference was not that much, believed him, then I see my credit card bill and see it's not Sheraton! And they charged me 14.99 to make the reservation. Called to speak with them, was hung up on 3 times! This has to be illegal to represent them selfs as Sheraton and not explain that there is a service charge, if they had I would have hung up and try to call Sheraton direct. When you google Sheraton, their number came up as being Sheraton! JUST WRONG-STAY AWAY!
Very poor customer service. He was extremely rude and he lied to me when I tried to cancel my reservation... Straight thieving...I would give a -3 score if I could
They charged a 40% in ‘taxes and fees' plus the &19.99! What fees?
Other similar sites do not charge anything.
Be aware! Do not use this site to make reservations.
Please do not book through reservation.com. It's a totally rip off. No one has the answer for you and they keep telling you I'm sorry for inconvenient but I can't help you. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ANY THIRD PARTY BOOKING. IF YOU WANT TO BOOK, BOOK IT THROUGH HOTEL.
I accidentally book at the wrong hotel. I called to cancel but they told me they are keeping my money. They charged me $1500 and they said they are keeping my money even though it was a mistake and needed to book at another hotel. What an evil company! I would have gladly rebook with the proper hotel but after that there is no way! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!
I recently thought of planning a travel for inspiration. Drive my senses to look for a trustworthy hotel reservation website, Just got a click of reservations.com and guess what I got? User friendly interface of website made my search easy. Easy navigation through various options to search best hotels of my choice surprised me because many travel planning websites makes the process difficult for end user.
I was looking for something new. Large selection of hotels, simple and detailed information cut down the time in planning my hotel selection. Good customer support has addressed all my queries and the personal touch they give while resolving queries moved my heart. I never had this ultimate experience in my life. Quality Services of reservations.com insists me to post this review after my trip. My honest choice for my family and friends will be always reservation.com for planning their holidays. I will definitely take their services again for planning my travel to make more good memories.
EDIT: Since first writing a review, my credit card was charged $288.60 to stay at another hotel that I did not book. They have my credit card #, so I am canceling the card and disputing the charge. How can this happen?
PREVIOUS ISSUE:
My husband had a medical emergency on a recent trip. We needed to cancel multiple reservations at hotels and sightseeing tours. Only Reservations.com refused to refund us. They asked what medical condition my husband had! Then proceeded to email me repeatedly saying they were working on it. That switched to my needing documentation from the hotel that they agreed to refund the fee. Finally, they said they wanted medical proof that my husband was in the hospital--and they would "put it through their billing department and I would hear back in 72 hours". When I asked for their physical mailing address I was told they were not allowed to disclose it. Stay away from Reservations.com!
PLEASE NOTE: Although I called both the hotel and Reservations.com to cancel this reservation the day before they charged me for two nights and claimed I did not cancel.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
