I tried to cancel a hotel reservation from Reservations.com. After 45 days we were still not able to cancel the reservation even though the hotel has a 24 hour cancelation policy. These people are a bunch of crooks.

Placed a reservation with these ripoff artists on my phone for a room@ $117 plus taxes (should have been around $137 final bill), and today found I was charged $167.60, PLUS a $19.99 use fee for the website. What a GREAT moneymaker for someone. I will NEVER use this "service" again, obviously, and warn anyone reading to avoid these idiots like the COVID plague.
Like all the reviews I read (unfortunately, too late to help me), I agree that Reservations.com is essentially a scam and should be avoided at all costs. First, they told me that I would get the same rate as what I saw on the hotel's website. I reserved for one night and when I got my email confirmation, I was LIVID! They charged me a different rate in US dollars (I am Canadian and booked a hotel in Canada) and added fees and service charges which essentially meant I paid $60 more for the the room for the night. When I called to complain, I got no traction. They told me to talk to the manager of the hotel, which I did. He was a great guy and very sympathetic to my plight, and told me I was ripped off but there was nothing they themselves could do except support my case. Reservations.com then sent me an email saying the situation was resolved and I was getting a refund of $2.99! They are the biggest thieves and scam artists I have ever come across in the hotel industry. Avoid them at all costs!
My wife and I stay at the Blackhawk when we are visiting her father in Waterloo. Comfortable, great staff and lots of things to do in downtown Cedar Falls.
I ACCIDENTALLY used their horrible, web booking site because I got routed there unknowingly. When I tried to change my room to the right hotel they moved me to another city. They only let you call them and they're all Phillipino and barely speak English. I repeated the city multiple times, I even recorded it. Then when we got to our location we had no rooms, they wouldn't help me and just kept putting me on hold. I asked to speak to a supervisor, on hold, check rooms, on hold, horrible, absolutely the worst experience ever. And they're with EXPEDIA.COM. SO DON'T USE THEM EITHER. Add credibility to my story with a photo of what? My charges?

Look at purchase below the good news about it it was showing two charges of 200.28 now it is showing only one charge. They could not tell be why all these charges was charged to my credit call and then said it takes 48 hours to be removed.

So they won't refund me my money after they messed up the dates for my booking... plus I cant hear the recording. O yeah not to mention they dont talk very clearly... its sad...

Due to health problems we could not make a trip at the time we had reserved. Called two weeks before, no cancellation. Had to let someone else take our room. Do not book here!
Daughter booked wrong dates and "Rose" has basically told me they will not refund or make changes, but I will recieve an official decision in 7-10 days.

Had to seek legal help to get reimbursed
Literally cancelled a reservation within a few hours for a date well in advance and they still charged me the whole fee. Now I'm paying for a hotel room that I can't even use.
First I thought I was making a reservation though a different website to earn points only to find out it was this company I have never heard of then charged $14.99. When I called they said they were a travel agent. Second I mistakenly booked at the wrong hotel so I called to change and was informed that they need to contact the hotel and was told that the hotel said they couldn't cancel. So I called the hotel directly and was told I could but I have to go through reservations.com to complete however they kept telling me I couldn't. They are a complete rip off DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Also after looking at the videos of "satisfied customers, and after talking to several reps, the names on the videos are the same, I don't think they are real customers.
This site is a scam. You have to pay as soon as you book and then they apply a no cancellation policy. I need to re-book and lost my full payment. I talked to them but they did not care. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Made a big mistake in dealing with this company! I reserved a hotel while in Missoula Montana, was nearby and drove to the hotel within ten minutes, the motel was a dump compared to the photos posted on "Reservations.com" I immediately called to cancel the reservation. The clown that took my call lied to me about contacting the hotel, he kept me on hold for 20 minutes plus, then refused to cancel the reservation! I never walked into the hotel let alone stayed there. I will never use "Reservations.com again they are dishonest and thieves! Have nothing to do with these slime balls! Finally, THEY POSTED ONE PRICE BEFORE I RESERVED, and then it went up after I clicked to reserve! I will NEVER USE "Reservations.com" again!
I made a reservation not realizing that this is a US company charging in US funds as I am from Canada and I booked a Canadian hotel. I called 3 minutes after I booked it to cancel it and they told me a could not cancel it. I will never use them again and I travel down to the US quite often.

Same as all the other reviewers. DECEPTIVE, DECEPTIVE, DECEPTIVE. I was stupid and did not notice that this was not the hotel's website. I made the reservation for $85 and was charged $30 more with a $14.99 nonrefundable fee. Found out if I had gone to the hotel website, it would have been $20 cheaper. I have learned my lesson. This is a HORRIBLE website and ripping everyone off. DO NOT USE THEM. All of us agree. I won't be this stupid again.
As another reviewer said, I can only blame myself... however, in today's age of customer service, you'd think businesses, especially those like hotel booking services which have saturated the markets, would be open to working with you to resolve problems. The agent I spoke with said he would get me a discounted rate for the Days Inn in Flagstaff off the I-40, which is what we wanted. My mistake, I didn't confirm the address and didn't realize there were several Days Inns in that general area. Of course he books me for the biggest POS available. And discounted rate?! No, this particular crap hotel was way cheaper on hotels.com. When I realized the mistake (minutes after receiving the confirmation email) I called to cancel or change properties. 42 minutes later my problem was still not solved and was told all the supervisors were busy but that one would call me back. It's funny how when you want to book a hotel an agent picks up right away. But when you need a problem solved it takes hours to talk to someone, and oh, your problem doesn't get solved. I even suggested they keep the $20 service fee and just refund the rest. That wasn't good enough. They had to keep the entire booking amount. Don't use them. This is a scam!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
