I erred when making a hotel reservation for a family gathering, not realizing another family member already booked rooms. Tried to cancel within 24 hours, but the website and the customer service line said if travel plans were more than 7 days away, to wait until that time frame to contact them. I understand rules so I put a reminder in my calendar and waited. Currently 5 weeks out, but decided to try to cancel. Was told by the rep that my reservation was nonrefundable. Asked for a supervisor. Same answer, made with a condescending tone. Did I mention we're 5 weeks away from the date? Apparently, that's too close to do anything about the cost I will have to eat. I'm a retiree on a fixed income, and these charges represent 20% of my monthly income - the event is a family wedding, tho, so the original investment seemed worth it. What isn't worth it is not being allowed to change plans over a month away from the date. Agents were difficult to understand at times, but the condescension was loud and clear - "tough beans old lady, we're $500 richer" Horrible experience, horrible service, and if I could give less than 1 star, I would. Shame on you all

Hidden Charges!
December 16, 2015

Stay away from this site!

I am Canadian, and I admit... I screwed up when booking through reservations.com. I didn't realize that the charges were is USD, so my "great deal" on a hotel in Banff really was not that great. But, that was my fault.

The one thing that will have me never use their services again is when I booked the room it does not include "taxes and fees" which were insanely over priced! We have 5% tax in Alberta, yet the taxes and fees for the room were over 20%!

To top it all off, I received a SECOND charge on my credit card for $21 Canadian (~$15 USD). I called and asked about this charge and was told that is a booking fee simply for using reservations.com. That's one steep booking fee for simply using a website, not to mention I have already paid 20% taxes and fees on the room itself.

Room breakdown:
$70 USD for the room itself
$22 USD for taxes and fees
$15 USD for use of reservations.com

I find this ridiculous! I will never use their services again and I hope nobody else ends up in the same situation (although it looks like I'm not alone on this matter)

Tried to book a stay at a Super 8 ive stayed out several times before... couldn't get a direct line to the hotel only to this pack of shady crooks. Made a reservation... intending to pay upon checkout like I have done my whole life at hotels... only to discover these criminals had gone ahead and charged the full amount without my permission. And didn't even send me a confirmation email. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANY SUPER 8 EVER AGAIN NOW THAT THEY ARE USING THIS SCAM COMPANY AS THEIR BOOKING AGENT.

I inadvertantly tried to make a 2 night reservation in TN. The site sppesred to be associated with the hotel. On the page was a book now soace which led me to an agent. He reseached the dates, toik my info and processed the transaction. At no time did he advise about canceling reservations. Nothing was indicated that this was a restricted booking.

When the confirmation was received in approx 10 mins, very extensive small print stated if cxl was made, a one night chg plus tax would be witheld. This reservation was for one room 2 months out. Since cxl'ing, a text has been received saying $203.50 has been processed to be rec'd in 10 days. That means they chg'd $203.50 for a 10 min transaction for a reservation 2 months out. This is a scam system falsely representing the hotel. Tough lesson but one I will continue to preceed chasing and exposing their tactics. Since the hotel has lost the booking due to my cxl'g. Does tge hotel get the $203.50 I have been charged? This is criminal and needs to be stopped.

I attempted to book a room in Lexington, Massachusetts so I Googled the name of the hotel I knew existed there followed by "Lexington, MA". I actually was unaware I was booking through Reservations.com but I was sure that it had put me in the correct hotel. It wasn't until I received the confirming literary that I discovered the hotel booked was actually in Lexington, Kentucky! I accepted it was a glitch with their website and called customer service, expecting they could transfer my reservation to the correct city OR cancel my reservation so I could rebook. I was told that it was my responsibility to review the cancellation policy and the reservation could not be cancelled. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he said, "He or she will tell you the same thing." I even told him that I was going to use their site again to book the correct city, I just didn't need a room in Kentucky. NEVER and I mean NEVER take a chance dealing with this horrible company!

Felt as though I was scammed. I wanted to make direct reservation with the hotel and not through you. It cost over $14 for no value added. Hope you go out of business if not arrested first.

My mother thought she was booking directly with the hotel online, however reservations.com weaseled their way into transaction. Definalty takeing advantage of innocent people who may not be avid internet users. We live in Canada, the hotel we booked was in Canada, yet she was charged in US dollors. Why? My mom asked 3 times what the total was to be charged to her credit card each time they guaranteed the total was 156.90 ca, but she was actually billed 217.24 us + a random aditional charge of 14.99ca that went up to 20.76 us dollors. So in total she paid 237.24. Nearly $82.00 more than they said would be charged. Compleate bull $#*! scam of a company tricking people and lying. A compleat inconvenience

Do not ever book a hotel room using this site. My experience is that I searched for a hotel I wanted to stay at in Lake Placid, NY. I knew the name of the hotel having stayed there before. When I plugged the name of the hotel on google.com the first one coming up with the name ended up being the site for reservations.com. I unfortunately called them and put in a reservation for a refundable deposit. After booking I immediately realized I had booked the wrong date for the hotel but when I called them back I had to make six calls being cut off each time and after emailing them, calling persistently and waiting after a hold for 40 minutes a lady claimed to have cancelled my hotel reservation after I gave her all the information again e.g. name, address, booking number etc. She then went on to claim that the $14.99 processing fee will still be booked to my credit card even though the cancellation for the hotel is completely free. Nobody on the site ever claimed that I would not completely get all my money back when I booked the hotel reservation. They are at best a very poor site with terrible customer service or at worst a scam site. I anticipate having to fight the transaction with my credit card company after the charge posts in three days. Word to the wise, check the booking site especially for a small hotel that you know, otherwise you will be unduly hassled like I have been, and possibly robbed by the criminals who run this site.

Made a reservation under what I believed to be hotel website- very sneaky in their link wording. Service charge buried in fine print. Once I realized what had happened I canceled with 10 minutes. Firstly, I was informed it would take up to 10 business days for a refund (to be fair, it only took 48 hours). But their service charge is non-refundable. I'm out $100. I concede my stupidity for not reading ALL of the plethora of fine print but their website is designed to bury this non refundable fee, period.
I see why they have 1-1/2 stars on BBB rating. DEPLORABLE!
NEVER, NEVER BOOK WITH THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY!

Theft by deception!
January 4, 2019

Thought I was booking room through Drury website but was really reservations.com (sneaky) Upon completion I discovered they were charging $40 more for their "booking fee" immediately called- they would not cancel and blamed Drury policy. Not true! Drury allows cancellation up to noon on day of arrival at no charge. Talked to very helpful agent at reserved Drury. He was VERY familiar with this practice. Turns out it was actually Priceline that made and controls the reservation. Spent over 2 hours with Priceline and reservations.com talking to people I had great difficulty understanding. Finally requested to talk to a supervisor. Was told I could not - they were busy and they would not allow me to hold. Promised the supervisor would call me - never happened! Said I would recieve a confirmation reservation email- never happened! Read that Priceline sometimes cancelled reservations without your knowledge so called Drury location and the graciously offered to make a backup reservation for me and even offered a discount with ability to cancel free by noon of check in day. Turns out I could have book for 130 total vs $191 total. VERY disappointed in the service from Priceline or reservations.com- whoever they really are! Hats off to Drury and be ashamed Priceline/Reservations.com!

Deceptive. Plain, simple. You think you are on the main hotel website. Nowhere does it say Pre-payment. Nowhere. In fact... I opened up the additional information and it CLEARLY states that "cancellations or changes after 4 pm (on the day of my reservation)" etc etc may be subject to a charge. Which is what every single hotel reservation out there states. The difference? These guys charge me a $35.67 USD "service charge" and a n additional "$14.99" reservation charge. Precisely WHERE on your site does it state this? Complete cash grab. These guys are purposely deceiving. I have already filed with the BBB and will make sure every penny I am out is recovered. I cancelled but of course they gave me the 7-10 business day standard... and when asked about the $14.99 USD charge which I didn't authorize they told me is have to dispute this with my credit card company. Wish honest people would operate honest companies. What goes around comes around. I sleep well at night. These people associated with this company will have their day. Karma is a $#*!.

I wish I could, the company and it's employees are a big fat ZERO. PLEASE BEWARE... They let you think that you are calling the hotel directly, they tell you all fee's and taxes are included and then you find out, you owe another $34 per/day for the resort fee! WTF! After I did some more research the following day, found out the A&$&#^( overcharged me $70 per day higher than the hotel. I paid $355 for 1 night in a 2 bd rm suite + resort fee's and if I had gone directly to the hotel, it would have been $283 FINAL COST. They wouldn't do a thing for me after explaining how I was mislead... PAY ATTENTION AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT USING THIS COMPANY. Call direct or better online travel sites like EXPEDIA, HOTELS.COM, TRAVELOCITY, BUT NOT RESERVATIONS.COM
You guys suck, you're what's wrong with Corporate America, wait, the call center is not even in AMERICA!
Good luck understanding these SCAMMERS! OVERCHARGED + FEE'S = RESERVATIONS.COM
