Call the number on the hotel website and was lead to reservation.com. Was on the phone with a pleasant representative but when my spouse went to check in, there was no such reservation and he ended up having to go down the road to a quality inn. With my spouse being in autotransport and on the road for days, you can only hope they have a nice bed to sleep in before hitting the road again. This is truly unacceptable, a system glitch that made my spouse looking for a room at 4 in the a.m.
Last night I made a hotel reservation on reservations.com. Today, my credit card was charged far more than the room cost, plus an additional 7.5% service fee. I was sent no confirmation or reservation number. I called the hotel to cancel. The hotel had my name and reservation dates but a different credit card number. I was told that a third-party made the reservation and that I would need to cancel through them. I called reservations.com. Their answering machine said that I couldn't cancel my reservation until 7 days before the reservation. But if you wait that long, they can keep your entire payment. I called my credit card company to deny payment, but they said that the charges were "pending," and I had to wait until the charges were posted to my account. Beware of reservations.com!
By the way, if you go on the reservations.com website, all of the reviews they posted are 5 stars.
I was redirected on travolicity and end up paying more than the hotel site tax and fees were 8 dollars more and hidden fees of 15 dollars i will post my reviews on every web site i can find you guys are crooks
Do yourself a favor and avoid this site at all costs. They imitate the website of hotels and then charge immediately with a no cancellation policy which is immediate. Called customer support and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told he doesnt want to speak to you.
Hotel has been renovated but still dated. It has Sleep Number beds which I found interesting. I would not go back. It was cheap. It is pet friendly and the room across the hall had flees. YUCK! I couldn't get that out of my head. Had I not heard that tidbit over breakfast, I might not have been so alarmed. They have those lights that kill germs. Dehumidifier things plugged into the hallways. I'd pay more to not be freaked out that I will get bed bugs or flees.
I made a mistake and booked through them and had nothing but trouble. They took the money and never booked the room with the hotel. When trying to confirm with hotel they had no reservation for us. After much time and effort spent trying to resolve this issue I had to call reservation. Com and cancel through them. Will take 10 days to get my money back and they still keep a fee. Then had to go back to hotel an rebook through them to get a room. Such a rip off. Beware of their site and avoid at all cost.
I knew better, but was tired and not paying close enough attention, so I thought I had gone directly to the motel's website. I booked my room and suddenly the price I was told I was charged was almost double what I had been shown anywhere else. I noticed my mistake and called customer service immediately, but they basically just said "tough luck, goodbye." Thankfully when I called the motel and explained my mistake they were able to at least get me the type of room I wanted, but I still paid this ripoff, scam of a business their $14.99 booking fee. I will always make sure to avoid them in the future and I recommend buyers beware! They're just as expensive as the actual motel rates, plus their fee. They have deplorable customer service and make their living off of scamming people who don't pay enough attention.
My wife was booking a room for a girls weekend in Indianapolis. She thought she was dealing with Best Western Directly, but it was actually Reservations.com. She spoke to a representative that assured her that she was booking a room with 2 beds and a pull out sofa at the downtown Best Western. She got to the hotel and they have no such rooms and they were booked full. An hour on the phone with customer service and she was rebooked at the Best Western Airport, a less desirable properly. She was originally charged over $500 for the booking, but upon checking out, of the less desirable property, she was given a receipt for $220. Trying to figure out where the $300 went to. Customer service will do nothing. Do not book with these CON ARTISTS!
I had made a reservation and wanted to cancel it. I went through all the steps online. When I called the hotel they told me I still had a reservation. So I went back online and did the cancellation a 2nd time. To make sure, I also called the customer service of Reservations.com number. Representative kept telling me they couldn't do anything on their side as it was a "none refundable reservation"! I travel for work once a week, never again will I book with them.
I had booked a hotel at Gatwick Airport to stay at the Bloc Hotel for 1 night. I called more than 2 months ago to cancel and was told I needed to call within 7 days to cancel, which I just now did. The receptionist with Reservations.com kept me on hold for at least 20 minutes after giving him all necessary info to cancel. He then told me that he was keeping the $19.99 US "service fee" for their work in booking the reservation. I told him that, as a US citizen, I am not even allowed to ravel to Europe and he told me "too bad"! I then raised my voice and this guy told me that he could terminate the call. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!
I accidentally called reservations.com when I was trying to book two hotel rooms for my niece's wedding. I went through the process to book the rooms, have then my credit card and the person that I was talking to said that the credit card wasn't going through for the second room. I checked my credit card balance and he had charged me in US funds without letting me know. Originally he had quoted me $220 and $298 had been taken off! I immediately told him that I wanted to cancel the rooms and he told me that I had to talk to customer service. I called them, argued with a girl and insisted on talking to a manager who told me that the reservation was non refundable and there will be a fee on top of it to cancel it. He said that it didn't matter that I had told the original person in the first phone call at the time of booking that I didn't want the room. This company is a gigantic scam, if anyone is actually considering using it and not just tricked into it be very cautious.
This is an american company. While in Ontario, I was looking for a hotel an hour and a half away and also in ontario. There were many competitors for the hotel I chose and reservations.com had the lowest price. Hard to know it was in US$. They charged me immediately and not upon arrival. They also had a $15US booking fee. When I asked for a refund they gave it back to me, they gave it back to me at a lower exchange rate and did not return the booking fee. I lost over $40 and don't have a reservation. What business do they have being a competitor in Canada and taking Canadians for a ride while we try to book hotels in our own country?
Do not use this website. They are set up to make you think you are at the hotel's direct website and then sell you a nonrefundable reservation without labeling it as such. Called them literally 60 sec after I made the reservation and they refused to cancel and told me the supervisor was on the phone and could not talk to me. They have an F rating on the Better Business Bureau website.
Original post:
I made a reservation, made a mistake. TWo seconds later they wouldn't change the reservation. Help me? Zero "nada, nothing. Then they charge on top of what the hotel charges. Use any other travel service they're cheaper and provide service. Fees for doing nothing. But I called him on it deny deny.
Charge me $15 on top of $100 reservation
3/28/19 update
They canceled the charges on my credit card and cancel the double booking. This resolves my concerns. Loss? Time and peace of mind.
I thought I was contacting the travelodge Moncton, I asked the operator for a room I was looking at on Wyndham website, the operator said he could do better and continued to talk about slot of nothing. He was hard to understand and kept me on the phone forever. I asked for a confirmation to be emailed, two minutes later a non refundable confirmation was received the hotel was in US $ and service fees which were not mentioned, the room was to be 115 canadian ended up being $120.00 US yet I was told it would be $80.00. Trying to cancel ten minutes later ( of course the runaround) when it was finally resolved, I was told I would receive my money back within 3 days yet there email states 15. Also they helped themselves to 14.99 US without my authorization. Never use and beware of reservations.com.
What a joke! I thought u were suppose to save money by using their website. The room was 100 and they charged me an extra 30 bucks for taxes and their fee. Only after i made thr reservation did i only find out it would have only cost me 107 to go threw the hotel itself. So i waisted damn near 25 bucks for going threw this stupid money stealing website! Never again and i will tell every1 i know to tell their freinds also about their scam!
My wife fell into the trap of booking a hotel thinking she was booking directly with the hotel. When she saw that the amount to be charged was much higher than the advertised price, she immediately contacted reservations.com only to be told too bad, she couldn't cancel.
Reservations.com charges a fee over and above what the property fee plus tax is. You are paying them a fee, in my case 54.00 over and above the hotel room fee plus tax. Always call the property that you want to stay with directly and before you book ask am I speaking with the (NameOfTheProperty). Utterly ridiculous that they charge a fee for doing absolutely nothing.
Carla, the woman who I dealt with in the phone was argumentative and not helpful.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and she put me on hold and never came back. The rate she wanted to charge was 42.00 higher than the quote she gave me. When I declined she argued and told me I couldn't get a better rate. While waiting, I got on line a booked a room for the original quoted amount. Never trust these people, call the hotel directly.
First of all I was tricked into booking with them, I thought I was booking through the actual hotel and learned out after I was not. When I tried to cancel my reservation with them the people on the phone were extremely rude and would not refund my whole bill. They said there was a $30 charge that was non-refundable in the email but NOTHING about another $15 charge was in the email. They would not refund any of the $45 and were extremely rude on the phone and it took them forever to even understand me and asked for my information multiple times. Needless to say I will never make this mistake again and hope this stops someone from booking with them.
