I booked a $189 hotel room through this site. The confirmation email said that they had charged my card a TOTAL of $269! See charges below. I pitched a fit and they finally are refunding me (I hope) the full amount. It took a long time and threatening legal action. When I booked with Expedia the total including taxes was $216. These guys are shysters!
Room Sub Total: USD $187.06 (excluding taxes and fees)
Taxes & Fees: USD $61.98
Sub Total: USD $249.04
Service Fee: USD $19.99
Total: USD $269.03 (including taxes and fees)
My name is Marc,
I tried to get 2 rooms from holiday inn express in Chambersburg Pennsylvania for one night.
Instead of charging me for one night they charged me for 11 nights. When I saw that within 5 minutes I tried to contact them just to fixe the problem, they refused to do it.
They told me to go to the hotel and when I got there call them from the front desk. I did exactly what they told me still I don't get my money yet.
Worst part of it, I did not even stay at the hotel that night, because I was upset about the situation, they call police on us, me, my 95 year old Mother, my 96 year old father, my wife and myself.
Reservation.com is the worst thing I ever dealt with all my life.
I just spent a total of 45 minutes trying to understand someone with a strong accent who was apparently in a room full of screaming children. First I had to book a hotel, then I had to call back and change the reservation. I couldn't hear the representative and when I could I couldn't understand them. Both making the reservation and cancelling it took way too long. Horrible experience!
A form of Internet fraud_Phishing? All the below reviews seem to be right on. Thought I was going directly to the Hotel but I wasn't. Figured it out by the $14.99 fee that they broker through Priceline plus the outrageous fees. Called to cancel and got an over seas call center. Still waiting for my original booking to be refunded and they still expect me to pay the $14.99 fee. By booking directly through the Hotel I saved $170.00 for the 3 nights.
They didn't send me reservation confirmation, with all the info. I had to call hotel to check if I have it.
When I called reservations.com to cancel they sed it is to late and give me policy. Not honest bussiness practice.
I first called the hotel and cancelled well within 72 hours of reservation due to my mother dying and not being able to make the trip. The hotel cancelled immediately and told me to tell the 3rd party reservation company they would not be charged. I then called reservations.com and cancelled with them since they had already charged me the full amount. I got the run around for 3 weeks with them telling me they were trying to reach out to the hotel. Ultimately they said sorry this is not refundable. I will never use this company again and will tell everyone I know of the sham of a company that it is. This is fraud!
I thought I was booking my reservation with the Hotel but in actuality it was Reservations.Com, they over charged for the room. The site gave one price but they added on a bunch of fees and a Service fee of $19.99 for their Customer Support or that's what they said. Long story short I ended up cancelling my trip due to Covid19 but they kept their service fee and said that it was not refundable. They are a bunch of scam artists and robbers, imagine the money they make by doing this. NEVER AGAIN!
I wished I checked this site before using the reservation.com. Everything, EVERYTHING, you read here its true! They are very sophisticated scammers, because their site comes on the top of search results with the hotel logo. I was mislead thinking I was dealing with the hotel site directly. The non-refundable service charge comes on top of other service charges making it the most expensive site to deal with. PLEASE, AVOID THEM! I will dispute the service charge with my credit card comp. But, am not hopeful Ill get a full refund.
I believed I was making the reservation with the hotel but found out later it was actually reservations. Com. The first thing that happened was my credit card company notified me of fraudulent charges and canceled my card. I tried to change my reservation and soon discovered this wasn't an option even though the customer service spiel said it was. I finally got an email from them with all the info concerning my reservation. I will say 2 of the Customer Service reps were polite but the third was aggressive and awful.
Don't ever go with this site, they are lyer. They told me before when i did my reservation that if i have to cancel it, I won't get any charge for it and blah blah. And then when i did cancel my reservation they charged me $19.99 US dollar of their service charge. And then when i called them for it and they was like its non-refundable. So I advice them to keep the representative who have full knowledge and experience to tell to their customers.
My company uses an online travel booking service called Concur, but the hotel I needed to book in Paducah, KY wasn't showing government rates. I went onto their website and found the phone number, which connected me to reservations.com. The person who took my information gave me a "super discount rate", supposedly, and told me I'd get a confirmation email. No email came. I called the next day and it turned out that she had put down "inc" in my email address as "ink". Wow. OK. Fixed that, but no confirmation came the next day either. I found out I could book at the hotel across the street which did offer government rates, so I called to cancel my reservation with them. A couple of days later, I found a $19.99 charge on my credit card that was never mentioned when I'd called, and I had to dig to find it on their website -- it's an unrefundable charge for using their service. They're crooks, plain and simple.
I wish I had known what I was doing when I rented a hotel through Reservations.com!
Number 1, I didn't realize I was using a third party. For any company to be able to charge $133.00 to rent a hotel for you is an absolute disgrace! The Hampton Inn had a special going on for $140.00/Night and reservations.com charged me $273.48. I called back immediately after I saw the amount charged to cancel. Not able to cancel! Called back after the lady at the hotel told me the amount was $140.00/Night. Resrvations.com told me the extra charge was taxes and fees. This is highway robbery and you should be ashamed! Lesson learned! I guess you can sleep at night screwing people over like you do?
I went to the Days Inn website thinking I was booking directly through Days Inn. After I confirmed my reservation, I realized I was on a booking site and they charged me a $19.99 service fee in addition to $22 of fees and taxes. Nowhere on the check out was there a statement of fees until after I hit "confirm". When I called the hotel directly, I was told I could have booked the room for $75 inclusive instead of $117+. I called reservations.com and was on hold for about 15 minutes. I was told I could cancel my reservation but would not get the $19.99 service fee back. I asked to speak to the manager. After another 15 minute hold, I spoke to her and insisted on getting a refund of the service fee. She did, but only after I promised not to cancel the reservation. I will NEVER reserve a room online again because of companies like this that disguise themselves as the hotel and charge outrageous, nonrefundable fees. There should be laws against this type of thing!
This is a 3rd party reservation website and the information they provide about a location is not necessarily accurate. When in doubt of an amenity that you specifically need - call the hotel direct to confirm that amenity is advertised correctly! The information on this website does not come the the actual source!
They paid google a lot to get to the top of a hotel search session, direct me to a web page that looks like the hotel website, never review itself during the reservation process, advertised a rate of $278 for the room and when I submitted, additional charge of about $120 showed up without any warning whatsoever. Plus, they never sent me a confirmation email even if repeated request through their website. Called them next day, after 15 minutes, finally talked to a person who simply said that their system is down, called back later. But the website was functioning because when I could still pull out a reservation information page after putting in my travel details. Called the hotel directly, couldn't find the reservation under my name, and so I cancelled my reservation using the scambag's website, but it said the charges are non-refundable but cancellable, WTF!
I had the same problem as many other reviewers. Thought I was on Planet Hollywoods website, no where on the website was cancellation information or the $14.99 fee. Tried to work with them to resolve problem and they did nothing to work with me. Never again, stay away from them!
Have to give at least 1 star to complain. Shame on the hotel corps who use this service company, in my case WYNDHAM Days Inn. Had second thoughts immed after I registered and was told I had to pay to get the quoted price, and then cancelled having been told that the $14.99 extra charge would allow me to cancel if the need arose. The funny thing is that when I turned around and contacted WYNDHAM directly and made my reservation again, the email receipt was from Reservation.com. Altho I didn't have to pay up front or don't have to pay extra for cancelling 24 hrs prior to reservation. I guess the constant use of the foreign call ctr person saying. "I am thanking you very much" should have been a tip off!
Booked a hotel not realizing it was not the actual site. If you go with the hotel directly they always have a free cancelation up to a certain date. The date that I picked is over a week away and after I booked it, I realized I needed to cancel my reservations 30 minutes after booking. When I called I was advised that there is absolutely no cancelation once so ever and no refunds will be issued. They advised that they have both no cancelation and cancellation policies but I was never given either option. If I could give this company no stars I would.
This company is a total scam.I booked on 6/5/2023 and then 5 min later had to cancel i called and asked to cancel and they said it was non refundable. Told me to look at the cancelation in my email.

They hung up on me as well
They make it seem as if you are booking with the hotel. Immediately charge you a separate service fee for booking. I am trying to cancel my reservation and wonder if I will ever get my money back as they charged me for the whole reservation immediately.
I booked on one day and their fine print says that I am charged an exorbitant fee to cancel on the day before my reservation was even made meaning that once you book, you are out that exorbitant fee which is essentially more than one days stay. Ridiculous.
AVOID THIS WEBSITE TOTALLY!
