I don't typically give reviews, but this one deserved one... and not a good one! If you come across this site for guest Reservations.com, I suggest you keep on scrolling, DO NOT use this service. I was looking to reserve a room with the hotel and they tie this site to the actual hotel name so you think this is a hotel service. This is a service in the philippines and has nothing to do with the hotel chain. They quote you a sale price but when they process the charge, they overcharge by hundreds of dollars. Then because they screwed up, they not only tell you it could take up to 30 days to refund, they automatically charge you a $19.99 fee! This is a total scam! I would advise no one use this site if they don't want unwanted charges hitting their credit card.
I thought I was booking a hotel for $109/night but when I got the email confirmation, it was actually$168.59 ($35.94 in taxes & fees and a $14.99 service fee). I could have reserved it cheaper directly through the hotel. I immediately called customer service to try to cancel with no luck. The customer service was terrible. Never again.
Their cancelation policy is criminal. To get your money back you have to cancel the reservation before you make it. I made my reservation about 4 PM but I had to cancel before 1 AM. If you don't have a time machine they are going to take your money and bill your credit card
Like most of the other complaints, I too was in a hurry and thought I was booking directly with the hotel, in this case, a Marriott hotel. In fact, the web site was listed as
"courtyordhotelal" and if you are in a hurry, who looks to see that "Courtyard" is spelled differently? I didn't, and the result was that the advertised rate was actually $20 more than what the hotel actually charged me, plus the taxes/fees were almost double what the hotel charged. I'll give them their booking fee of $14.95, but ripping me off for over $45 more than the actual room & tax bill from the hotel is pure robbery. Oh, did I mention that after repeated requests for a refund of the difference, reservations.com declined the request each time. Don't get sucked into the attractive room rates they advertise, because you WILL pay more for the same room than if you simply booked directly with the hotel.
We also thought the website was for direct hotel booking...our bad for not reading all the way to the bottom. No problem we thought we will pay the booking fee. When we checked out of the hotel we asked for our bill. Reservations overcharged us $536 for the rooms. When we called to complain they simply said that was "their negotiated rate with the hotel". No refund...sorry your out of luck with this company. Avoid at all cost!
Read carefully on the website to make sure you don't get scammed as we did.
Reservations.com lies and cheats its customers! I had a death in family, call on Thursday morning to cancel for one of the two night stays, Friday -Sunday was told everything would be find to do, but that was a lie has well. The hotel did understany my situation but reservations.com has sent me 15 email stating ( we are investigating on your request). I don't understand why any hotel would use this company as marketing or booking they are terrible. Run don't walk away from this company. They told me I'd get a refund. Took 3 days for them to answer the phone, then I could barely understand the customer service agent. Now they say they'll investigate, right, how long does it take I cancel the room I might as well kiss that money goodbye, no doubt that I'll never get my refund. Try to cancel June 3 here it is June 29th and there still investigating, but they will take your money the same day you call without any problem.
I unknowingly booked a reservation through this company when I thought I was on the hotel site. My room was no cancellation fee and a lower rate. I get a confirmation back with a higher rate a no-cancellation room and a service fee. I immediately contacted them for a cancellation. It took 30 minutes with "customer service" and I was told it might take 3-4 weeks to get a refund. Refund is suppose to be coming but they are charging their fee. The trickster fee.
This was trickster tactics at its best. They got me so beware.
Reservation.com is a sister company of hotels.com. And the sister is a whore. She will take a $14.99 fee before you even get your pants down. She mimics the hotel site you think you are reserving at. And her application loops you around and around, taking the fee every time you Submit. Stay away from the dirty sister of hotels.com. Actually, boycotting hotels.com for their dirty little scam is my suggestion.
I did not even finish putting in my information and was looking to use my discount code I had from the venue when it charged my card without me ever saying to. Then after waiting 30 minutes for them to answer the phone at customer service I received only prewritten responses from the individual who could not communicate. No matter what I said he read from the same script, same words over and over and refused to help stating it was non cancellable. I tried to state that I never authorized the charge to begin with but he would just repeat over and over that it was non cancellable. Complete crooks and by the way I was trying to go to Double Tree Hilton's website but was secretly redirected to their website without my knowledge. Just a complete scam!
I was totally unaware that I was booking through reservations.com. They charged me well over $100 a night for a room that I could have walked in and booked for $65 after sending their quote customer service which they could do nothing for me. They were rude obnoxious and the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my almost 70 years
Booked a family get away with them. I had to cancel my trip and they did refund my money but not before adding another identical charge to my card. It doesnt say reservation.com on the charge so the lady at the call center basically stole close to 1000 dollars from me. They acknowlege that its an identical amount but refuse to admit that it was on their end that the money was stolen
In hurring to make a reservation to attend a family funeral, I too quickly used Reservations.com and ended up getting charged $60.00 in fees without any disclosure, half of the initial room rate. In calling within literally 5 minutes of making my reservation, I was told I was stuck, there would not be any refunds. Terrible people, couldn't even understand their speech. Just call your hotel directly! Hampton Inn in Dodge City, KS said they have had many complaints about Reservations.com and recommended to stay away. Dishonest company! Steal your money!
Just got ripped off by telephone agent. Thought I was calling Days Inn canada hotel directly instead it was a scam. All along she was quoting me prices but never once said it was US. Once booked it was non refundable. Wasn't until I received email confirmation after I was billed that it states US $! This is purposely done as they are trained to do so as I called more than once. I'll be disputing this fraudulent charge with my creditime card company who had guaranteed me I will get credited. Not an enjoyable start to a vacation. Canadians do yourself a favour stay away!
Fortunately, I decided to call the hotel the day of our stay only to find they did not have the reservation. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Reservations.com only to have them tell me they would research it! Of course the hotel is booked full! Fortunately I was able to find another hotel. Filed a dispute on my credit card charge.
Scamming company with hidden fees, won't allow any changes even minutes after booking. Lied about having a manager promise to call me back. Posted duplicate 14.99 fees to my credit card as well as duplicate 401$ fees that I had to go through my credit card company to get reimbursed. Watch out for these thieving liars!
I thought I was talking directly to a hotel. But I was with reservations.com. When I arrived at the hotel, I signed a invoice for $81.00. Reservations.com charged me $127.00. I do not understand how they can charge so much more. If I stayed one more night, the hotel would have charged me $81.00. I find it very difficult to understand why this company has not been checked by state agencies that protect consumers.
I called reservations.com customer service to cancel hotel reservations booked online as they were the booking party. Five days later still no refund nor email so I called back today to discover that I hadn't been processed at all after going through all the required steps days ago. I was told by their agent that I may not receive a refund although the hotel informed me that they would okay the refund due to canceling because of hurricane related issues. Needless to say, I had to call Priceline.com which is reservations.com funnel through to actually process my cancellation. Ding business this way is not professional nor is it fair to consumers. I will make certain that I stay clear of reservations that has this logo or name anywhere on it. Hopefully Priceline comes through on cancelling with a full refund. Was an awful experience twice within one week. Never again!
The price they told me was not the price they charged me. I contacted them 4 times over the phone explaining what the issue was. I was promised a refund which I never received. After contacting them again, the gentleman I had spoken with try to lie to me how he didn't promise me a refund. End of the day I was ripped off with about $90.00 for a simple hotel reservation. NEVER ever booking through them again. Horrible assistance and help line.
COMPLETE scam! Add hidden fees, almost $200 in fees that they won't explain. "we don't itemize the fees". Stay away! They also trick you into thinking you are booking at an official website of the hotel but its [hotel name]. guestreservations.com. I travel up to 100+ times a year. I'll share to EVERYONE I know to constantly watch out for such a website scam and to absolutely avoid anything with guest reservations!
I had the same experience... Was not aware that I was booking through third party provider and of addt'l charges until saw on the credit card statement. Started looking into it and found theses posts... Has anyone reported this company to Better Business Bureu?
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.

Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
