I was booking a 1 night stay for me and my daughter. I didn't know I was using reservations.com because they make it look like the hotel site. Long story short, I was charged over $70 in fees for the 1 night. As soon as you enter card info it charges you. There is no screen to confirm that shows total price like a normal website. I didn't know the total until I received the email and at that point it was too late. They won't cancel.
This is scam! Worse experience I have had in a decade. Spoke with an agent who assured me my cancellation was successful and wanted to give me a cancellation confirmation number but I was driving. So he said he was going to send me and email which never came. I was okay with all charges deducted which included processing fee and first night deductions. I called a few days after to find out when my refunds would be available and the agent told me there was no cancellation and that I have to wait for 5 to 10 business for investigation. What a disappointment!
Upon trying to cancel my reservation within acceptable limit, I could not get a hold of anyone answering the cancellation line. So I tried their online cancellation system which made me think I was pressing a button to confirm cancellation except in small writing underneath it said confirm reservation and pay now. After realizing they don't pick up the cancellation phone lines I was able to contact someone by pretending to book another reservation. Worst customer service as I was hung up on multiple times and told I should have read more clearly before confirming the reservation I was trying to cancel. I know they canceled the my reservation with the hotel but Still waiting to see if they continue with payment on my credit card.
I also thought I was on the hotels actual website because they are deceitful. There is nothing saying you will be changed right then, it was not shown it was non- refundable and it did not show that there was a nothing refundable. My $64 room ended up being over $90. I'm going to report them to someone. I'm beyond pissed.
I couldn't see the TOTAL charges until after booking! The confirmation was astronomical. There was@ $50 in "fees" added. It says fully refundable by certain date/time... but there is $19.99 "service fee" that they still charged. A sorry excuse for a company. One star is too good for them. NEVER USE RESERVATIONS.COM
Reservation screen "Reservations.com-La Quinta,,,"as noted by multiple reviewers deceptively like official hotel site. Room rate $95. Request usual name address etc. room rate $95. Having done business with reputable companies click payment to find they've added about $50 for tax recovery and total bill is $147 vs $114 for actual rate with taxes through La Quinta. Preliminary credit card at Bank of America was to "Hotelvalue.com" and the cleared charge merchant listed as "Getaroom.com", A shell game con.
We booked our reservations five weeks in advance with this company. We received a call from the hotel six days before check-in to inform us that reservations.com sent the confirmation to them THAT DAY and unfortunately, there was no availability! After hours of attempting to contact a live person at this company, I received an apology and they were generous enough to refund all of our money... within 7-10 business days! I honestly hope we are the only people this happened to, a COMPLETE disaster.
Reservations.com is a scam. I reserved a hotel through them not realizing their poor reputation. The price that I was quoted for my reservation was $200 less than what my credit card was charged. The forgot to mention the $200 in fees and taxes when they told me a price. On top of that, they charge you $14.99 to book, which infuriates me (probably more than it should).
Just booked by mistake on this site. Yes, I should have double and triple checked before I clicked "purchase." But I thought for sure I was on the hotel site. I immediately heard two pings on my phone. One for the hotel rate and another for their completely unnecessary $20 service fee. Non-refundable. Check closely... my advice. Don't waste the $20. You need it more than these robbers.
Exactly what everyone else is saying is totally true. They absolutely lied the whole time. They pretended to be the hotel and I specifically was booking out of a wedding block. I asked them if they were booking my rooms out of the wedding block and they replied Yes. Total lie! They pretended they were the hotel booking out of the wedding block of rooms and then I asked about cancellation policy. They said fully refundable by a certain date. Not once did they say there was a 15.00 min refundable fee per room since they were reservations.com. Totally deceitful and sneaky. This seems to be their practice since so many reviews are saying the same thing. We need to post everywhere about this terrible company. Possibly a class action suit. What a rip off.
On first impression it looks like a very convenient way to make reservation. They also make it seem very simple to cancel a reservation when life happens and you can't make it. They do say that you will forfeit you 14.99 res fee... totally appropriate but they don't tell you your not getting anything back no matter what... What a racket! Book directly folks these guys are crooks.
Doesn't rate a star... Looked at a hotel site, saw the "call us" prompt and thought i was dealing with the hotel's reservations personnel. Noticed the agent had a difficult time with the English language. Made the reservation and when I received the email confirmation I saw my card had already been charged. Called the hotel direct, got a cheaper rate quote, and found out that Reservations.com puts ads on hotel sites and people think they are dealing direct. Called to cancel and got an agent who had an even worse time with communicating. Finally, got the reservation cancelled and was told the $14.99 fee would be refunded separately. I am contacting my credit card issuer to ensure the full amount is refunded.
Googled a specific hotel (Hyatt House) and made a reservation on what I mistakenly thought was the hotel site. All my fault. What isn't my fault is I booked the room, the amount was $70 more than the price and when I questioned it, the operator said it was because of "taxes". Wow... okay.
The email comes and they have (without my permission) added a $19 "service fee" for booking a room with a hotel I'm actually a member of. This is dirty and I'll be complaining and warning people all over the internet.
The hotel they picked last time for me was a great one. I'm planning a holiday to Asia later this month and has really helped find the best prices for the best places to stay. How could I mange those things without you.
Call hotel you plan on staying not any other site. Talked to a group of people at the hotel and the prices range from 99 dollars to 149.00 per night they were paying. Asked to have the price changed but they said no.
Pay attention to the people that are being paid to write good reviews. Absolutely absurd business. I booked the room online and cancelled within 7 minutes. I received an email a cancellation notice but the hotel called and said the reservation is still appearing! They refuse to cancellation the hotel side and NOT inform me! My reservation isn't until three months down the road and they will still not cancel from my card or the hotel!
Be aware of http://reservations.com! They fake to be the authentic hotel website to lure customers. "reservation" means non-refundable and non-changeable "purchase". Customer service (phone and online) are automatic non-responses - "congratulations - you are on your way".
This company only cares about their $19.99 service fee. Their rates are high and I believe unethical business practices. I travel 140 nights a year. I will never stay at a hotel that embraces reservations.com!
I recorded conversation approving for Mariposa Inn rep came back said they were booked charged a non approval for Park avenue Inn told her refund my money going bull crap getting my refund with my recording for something l didn't give permission happened 4-6-2022 they ask for proof l gave it just refund my $469.11 this is fraud
They must pay Google to get in top of search list and fake being the hotel's website. Sent me a confirmation of my reservation. I showed up to the hotel (Hilton Ocala FL, Feb 17,2023) only to be told there was no reservation. And the entire area had no vacancies. I slept in my rental car last night

Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
